  1. You’re free to dislike whatever you choose, the fact remains that by any objective measure, more people disagree with that dislike than any other show ever produced. And thanks but I’ll stick with prime rib. I’m almost certain vegans are wrong.
  2. Which is absolutely reflective of reality. I know I see tornadoes about a third of the time when it rains...
  3. *steals Remo’s Peg leg and gives it to Rocket.* I’m not sure how this is supposed to help us beat the Kraken but Rocket says we need it so... *shrugs*
  4. Check the worldwide numbers. It’s GOT.
  5. ...he says about the single most popular show in the history of television...
  6. Exciting news like you’ve kidnapped George RRRRR Martin and you’re going to force him at gunpoint to finish The Winds of Winter? You’ve just saved a bunch of money on your car insurance by switching to GEICO? You’re so excited that you just can’t hide it because you got the rights to use The Pointer Sisters music as part of Atlas’s soundtrack?
  7. Where’s a Realist when you need one?
  8. *throws Gadefence overboard and replaces him with a dolphin, a talking monkey and a volleyball with a face painted on it.* I know what you’re thinking and no his name’s not Wilson. That would be unoriginal. It’s Voit.
  9. So why would you assume you should have the right to “block out” an area for future use? When I ran a 4 server private cluster in Ark, this was specifically forbidden. Want to build something somewhere? Then claim that spot by actually building, not lazily calling dibs by throwing down foundations and then maybe getting around to building on it after St Swibbons Day. This may or may not be the approach the devs prefer, but if they did I would be fine with it.
  10. You say this as though it isn’t already happening...*cough* Anthem *cough*
  11. My guess is this is an effort to combat shipyard spam, which was pretty obnoxious in some places.
  12. There is a Jewish legend which says the world rests on the back of 36 living saints. That it is because of their love and generosity and unselfishness that the world continues to exist. They are the secret kings and queens and princes of this world. Your mother is almost certainly one of them. Hug her today if you can. Call her if you cannot. Remember her always no matter what. After all, she put up with a parasite for 9 months so that you could be reading this instead of ending world hunger or inventing clean renewable energy. Would it hurt you to just *try* to cure cancer so your mother would have something to tell her book club for once? Thats all I’m saying. That and breeding needs work.
  13. I don’t think it can be fairly argued that because building is a core game mechanic foundation spam is an equally permissible core game mechanic. This strikes me as analogous to asserting that since the game has chat then using said chat to spew profanity laced insults at someone is inherently okay. Core mechanics can be exploited in undesirable ways unintended by the developers. It is of course incumbent on said devs to clearly communicate whether foundation spam is permissible or not.
  14. Ahem. Who made you the arbiter of what is proper play? A very strong argument can be put forward that building is a core gameplay feature and mechanic and thus it would up to the devs and the devs alone to limit its use or say otherwise. As far as having nothing better to do, unless you are using Atlas to cure cancer or rid the world of professional bowling (a scourge upon society if ever there was one), then like every other player you have nothing better to do.
  15. Stop being Frank and go back to being Gadefence. Changing identities confuses me. You wouldn’t like me when I’m confused.
  16. Hope not. If the OP wastes perfectly good elephant ribs by overlooking them I’ll be annoyed. *Listens for the sound of Hindus sharpening their knives at the suggestion he eats elephant meat.*
  17. This is not the thing I would be saying if people were comparing me to the 40 year old Virgin.
  18. Dibs on the roasted elephant prime rib. I bet it’s deliciously supple. Btw that screen shot is brilliant for the way it shows the absurdity of present breeding mechanics as they relate to temp. Sometimes a picture is worth far more than 1000 words and all you need. Wouldn’t you agree @Jatheish ?
  19. This is one of the things that really bugs me about Atlas’s conceptual design at a base level. At least two core MMO mechanics, crafting and economy, require large player bases that can interact with each other in a single world to work properly, to say nothing of the prospect of large scale pvp fleet battles. In Ark I not only disdained official servers for the same reasons you do here plus access to Ark’s wealth of mods, but I ran and maintained a 4 server cluster community of unofficials because I found them vastly preferable to officials. With Atlas however, I found myself scratching my head from the outset that the devs would even allow private servers for an MMO attempting to sell itself as a vast game world with over 700 islands and potential for empire building. These things seemed inherently contradictory from the word go and it led me to question whether the devs understood MMO design at a core level. Unfortunately I have seen little in the four plus months since to convince me otherwise. To be fair they seem to be attempting something groundbreaking by melding MMO with survival, but based on where we are now I am not at all sure these two genres lend themselves to being merged or that such a concept holds much appeal for many gamers.
  20. Well that is often where he and I disagree. Commenting on things like insane shop player rent doesn’t require any play experience, other things like basic visual layout and appeal can be garnered reasonably well through watching streams or YT videos, but some things really require actual play experience to be able to comment on meaningfully. Besides, do you know many people who have a good perspective? On anything?
