Singleplayer was recently revealed to be in the Mega Update 3 in Atlas! This is exciting for a lot of people who might want to play on the go on a laptop or just play without the griefing of other players. This is especially exciting for those who love single player games such as Skyrim or singleplayer ARK Survival Evolved. However, a single player can get boring at times due to the lack of other players. I personally love to play with friends but I also have internet that cuts in and out of working properly, so I'm stuck with not touching ATLAS (at least until I fix my router). This singleplayer mode could fix this problem but to make it better I propose that NPCs are added. Now, I'm not talking about the shop keepers, the mindless drones that control your ship, or the ship of the damned, but actual NPCs that walk around, interact with things, etc. This could open many possibilities such as creating your own town, hiring more dynamic characters, and even have other enemies besides the damned. As we saw in the trailer, there was a fist fight between two characters, I believe that this could happen between 2 NPCs or even you and one NPC. This adds more fun that can be beneficial. For example, upon winning the fight, some NPCs watching could go with you to your town and help with everyday tasks. You can assign one to make 100 arrows a day, one to harvest all the crops, and another to patrol around using a ship. This could also make it seem like your world is full of vibrant cultures. When sailing the seas, you could land on an Island and discover a tribe of wild natives, or catch a glimpse of a pirate outpost on the shore. This can open more possibilities for quests and treasure. Pirate ships could also circle around islands that have outposts and can notify you of their presence. (however, approaching them works similar to the ship of the damned). While we don't get much on the single player mode, I would love to see some sort of story that you could follow (and I don't just mean to quests). Upon waking up, there should be NPCs that help you with your journey and teach you the basics of the game. This would be a big improvement compared to the text that appears on the top of your screen. Afterward. you can set out and do whatever you want. When returning to port towns, NPCs can give you hints on tasks you can complete to progress in the story, so it's not a mandatory thing. Author Note: Hey! I'm not the best writer but I think these Ideas would work great in the actual game or as a Mod for singleplayer. If you have any ideas that you would like to add onto this, please comment them!

So devs you guys have fixed the offline raiding and stealing ships while offline, great job! But we still are missing the pirate aspect of the game...., why does it still take so long to steal someone's ship when I can sink it in less then a minitue???? I understand we don't want people stealing ships while people are afk. Makes perfect sense. Why don't you just make it so anchored ships can't be stolen? Or take the normal amount of time while anchored. But ships that have players aboard?! We should be able to steal them within just a few minutes! Make it so with a few rules! 1# Unanchored ships can not be captured if they have a bed in the ship . 2# ships can not be captured if they have any hostile players on board. 3# the player can not take damage while stealing the ship. With just these simple rules we could have so much pirate action an make the game a little bit more lively. I mean it takes only a few minutes to sink a players ship on the sea so why shouldn't we be able to steal the ship in the same amount of time. Will lead to more fun pvp instead of just trying to sink the ship more boarding and close range combat will happen. Something close to these lines would make the game headed in the right direction. Kinda hard to be a pirate game when it takes 22 hours to steal a boat that can have that canceled by having a hostile just walk into the area.... No reason not to do this. The attacked player is losing their ship both ways. Maybe one day they will steal their ship back. Or put a bounty on that specific ship??? Possibilities are endless.

**Avast ye!: I know some of these features have been hinted at in trailers and screenshots and that not everything (or anything) I am mentioning is original. Also it is entirely possible that some of these features may already be in the game but I have not discovered them. I would still love to share with you my vision for this set of features. My goal is to inspire the developers and to generally create conversation and hype!** In the beginning... The pirates had Nassau. A city of opportunity, trade, lust, boozing and lust. A region where people came together under a common understanding (relax or be annihilated by tower cannons). For many, Nassau was a symbol of freedom. Scores of so-called-pirates fought and died defending the ideal of having no government. Of course, we all know how that ended. However, here in Atlas, we have the amazing ability to live in a snapshot of time. The golden age of piracy. What would that be without a singular place where companies from all over the map could sail to? They would come from every corner to show their might. To set up shops and trade. To recruit. To duel. To create bounties. To get totally smashed, party and tell tall tales of ghost ships and sea monsters in one of the many taverns. As it was in history, when someone got sick of government rule and booked passage to a life of unlimited opportunity and uncertainty, new players in Atlas will strive to reach here in search of a company that may bring them untold riches. How it could happen... Revamping a freeport square near the center of the map to create an island three times larger than any currently in existence would allot the land space necessary. Making the sea floor shallow enough to anchor but deep enough to be navigable would create the sea space necessary. What a beautiful sight those ships would be should the sea bed gradually rise into the beach. Inland you could find... -Local guard These NPCs help keep the peace. They man the cannon towers overlooking the beaches. You can also find them guarding and patrolling around taverns. But they do not go outside of the town. Beware when venturing from one side of the island to the other. -Taverns Music and laughter can be heard from down the street. Allows players a meeting spot for company recruitment. Here you can purchase an inland re-spawn with a limited duration, view recruitment boards and debaucherize to your hearts content. -Designated player shop location Have you ever been to a trades day? This large section of the island is dedicated to player shops. Not only can you make purchases here but you can also sell your goods to fill player set quotas. Down payment and upkeep on stalls required, limited space available per company. -NPC shops Lining the streets of the city are pricey NPC shops where you can buy various goods. -Bounty Boards / Bounty NPC Found in or near Taverns, these boards or NPCs have a full list of the bounties offered by companies on other companies. Multiple companies can add to a bounty. Once collected, bounties cannot be placed on the same company for X amount of time. The capital city is the only place in the game where a bounty can be placed. This means that bounties on the four corners of the map should be much more profitable than the ones nearest the capital. -Player Duels Accepted like a trade, you can fight to the death in the streets without fear of the guard or losing your items. Bonus: adds some great atmosphere! What is a pirate town without gun smoke to fill the salty sea air? Arrr! Thanks for making it this farrr! I look forward to reading your comments and hearing your ideas on how this can be further improved.

Make stealing boats that are not anchored much faster please! No reason you shouldn't be able to take a boat in say 10 min if you kill all the crew and beds! You can sink and destroy the ship in even less time! I understand when offline you don't want all stuff stolen but when you are battling at sea kill all the crew break down the doors and destroy the beds. Should be like a 5 10 min claim. Also should add ship in a bottle so we can log off with ships ( ship must have nothing in chest to prevent exploit)

So at the currect game state underwater salvage is a big gamble. You either get no underwater mods and its fairly easy but this is rare. Most cases you go down with no armor due to diving suit taking it all off and have to deal with multiple underwater mobs (Sharks, jellyfish, Eels)All making it nearly impossible to do underwater salvage. Your best offensive option currently is a bow but even with 30% damage increase with the strongarm perk you have to shoot about 20-30 arrows to take out a single lower level jellyfish or shark making it good for about two mobs if you dont miss(due to bows breaking after 40 shots) making them practically useless. What I am proposing is either two new weapons being either the Harpoon Gun which should do massive damage to underwater mods but not work at all on land, or the crossbow dealing more damage underwater than the standard bow and being more durable. Now both of these weapon are already in Ark so its a simple reskin and port to be done. Also having a better arrow type maybe some kind of underwater arrow that has no range on land but better range and damage underwater could be very usefull. My other proposal is a skill in the pirating skill (since most of the salvage skills are in their) that increase your damage against underwater mods by 30-50% and making you more damage resistant to underwater mobs while in the diving suit only (since you cant equiped any armor with the diving suit). Now all of these proposals being added to the game would make salvaging wrecks a lot more enjoyable and really have no negative impact on gameplay or PvP balancing. Plus everyone ive brought it up with in the official Atlas Discord has agreed with me. I hope whoever is reading this can also agree with me. Even just one of these changes being added would make a significant difference and all of them shouldnt be hard at all to implement into the game, especially a new skill. Thank you for reading and i hope you consider this, for all of us underwater salvages we will thank you!! Happy Sailing! P.S. Diving Platform having only 100 health is a joke with the resource cost. A small storage box has around 50× the amount of health, literally makes no sense. Please fix.

hopefully this isn't already posted 100 times on here already but, Is running into 7, i repeat 7, Pirate of the damned ships/Ghost ships with in 2-3 mins of each other really how this games spawning mechanic is supposed to work? we avoided 4 ships barely as the first spawned off our right side , then the second straight ahead taking away most the wind. then a 3rd ship off to our left effectively taking away all the wind lanes and surrounding us with all ships spawning 400-500 meters out. we thread the needle of the ship on our right and center as we near the N4/N5 boarder as the 4th ship spawns left and starts to circle left and makes a pretty abrupt turn right and aggro's toward us as we cross the boarder. it follows through the server line and is about 80% accurate on shots as you guessed it we make it through about 4-5 volleys of fire 2 more ships spawn ahead left and right of us . only option is keep the wind at our back and full sail to out run . we out run the original enough the cannons our falling short only to have both ships on our left and right to aggro and we start taking on water, repair, and have a final 7th ship spawn ahead of us and finishing us off sinking it. so really love that in a 5 min span we have to deal with 7 ships in less than 5 min . I feel like this is a pretty absurd amount of POTD/Ghost ships in such a small distance and to have them in such a small amount of space to react. I'm assuming this is not an isolated incident but would like to hear either way what everyone's experience is so far on actual ships that are not rafts .
