  1. Spent the last 12 hours looking through artic regions haven't come across this yet. Just tons of Wetwood. Does it not exist in game anymore or is it buy off a merchant in freeport only?
  2. I don’t think it is I who needs medication. Are you feeling ok? You sir have a potty mouth. are you here just to insult other forum goers? I haven’t really seen you say anything positive either to be honest.
  3. I'm going to say you haven't been playing this game long, probably a new console player? So you haven't been around to see the evolution of Atlas. It's been downright painful. Their focus on PvP and PvP "fixes" has led to stupid and short sighted decisions that have made the game worse overall than it was a year ago. Also, I've played dozens of early access games and the EA excuse is not sufficient enough for this lack of development and communication.
  4. Yeah im guessing copper is the same way. i've looked at a ton of high/low desert and haven't seen it anywhere. Unfortunately i dont have a spot to put down a market.
  5. I rememeber people losing tames while sailing back in the day and we could never figure out why. I was just playing single player today(haven't played in months really) and when crossing from L7 to M7 ... I enter M7 and the giraffe I have on the bow of my brig (which is PASSIVE and ignore group whistles) just turns and starts walking off the edge of the boat. No idea what caused this giraffe to go overboard. My other tames on the boat were fine and just sat around watching the giraffe hurl itself. This type of thing was so annoying back in the day... can't believe they haven't fixed this. I remember seeing dozens of tames floating at the edge of the grids... You assume its due to some battle or ship of the damned, but nope... just bad code.

So, there are ~7 ghost ships, circling my island, Nangue Haven in the tile K6, our resources haven't respawned after the ghost ships took out the majority of everyone's shipyards, sloops, and whatnot, and the water between islands is so full of ships, no one can even raise anchor with anything other than rafts. Please, help. As of right now, there are 3 ghost ships literally beaching themselves on Nangue Haven, one sounded like it was trying to shoot through a tiki head. Please help, I've already lost 2 shipyards, 2 schooners, and 2 sloops in my company.
  7. Man I logged in and started grinding, was very happy with the resources you get without a tame. So much less grindy. Started to build a schooner and realized it costs 5k gold. Haven't logged in since. I was so sad to see that, because I know I'm not the only one now who reinstalled and saw that and never came back. 5k on a gally or specialized boat is far more appropriate. Or just make the gold sink cosmetics and maintenance. But for a sailing game for a basic ship... come on guys nobody has fun in a sloop until late game doing harbor runs. Everybody knows this. Other than that, game mechanics feel a bit better and the farm rate is so much more appropriate. Losing stuff shouldn't end your experience because you're upset about your time investment so I feel it's pretty solid where it's at right now. The gold thing though... you're soft capping people so hard with that. The schooner is the first boat you get that FEELS like you're a captain. Dont rob new players or returning players of that. Especially when the game so desperately needs them.
  8. 1: Build a warehouse and ensure it is connected to at least 1 farmhouse. 2: Build a market within 10m of your warehouse. If it is 11 or more away it will not work. 3: Set up your desired trades (through the market). I.E. Honey for gems with a 1:1 ratio. The more you set up the more trading options you have. 4: Click find new trade route and then select one, click the gear icon, and request new trade route. 5: Wait for the trade route to be accepted. That's all there is to it. Once you have trade routes set up the game will automatically send out invisible ships and trade your resources for the other companies resources (your warehouse must have the resources inside it to trade them). Random events will trigger during this phase which can affect the end results (a parrot laid an egg so I have a fertilized egg in my warehouse). Remember, if the other person doesn't have things set up right it will not work. I found it easier to find another company I could talk to and set up a trade route with them. I haven't earned much gold yet, but at least I know it's working. Good luck out there pirates.
  9. Lol couldn't tell ya what bad decisions were made being haven't made any. Devs tho that's another story. And yes you wipe turds when then been stale with barely any players the last several months better yet prolly best to take the game offline completely.
  10. It’s funny that people think wipes actually solve anything, they don’t. Whatever bad decisions you made this season and haven’t yet corrected you will just repeat next season. If you open your mind and really think about the game mechanics you will find a solution to this problem just like we did. Good luck.
  11. Haven’t been able to play in a week on Xbox. This game is complete garbage. Done with this crap! You need to fire your whole team and start over. Uninstalled and filing compliant.
  12. Hallo, Ich habe warum auch immer habe ich einen Permanenten ban bei den offiziellen Servern. Kann mir jemand sagen wie man den los wird? Ich habe den Support schon mehrfach angeschrieben aber ich bekomme nie eine Antwort. So wie mir zwei Mitspieler aus meiner damaligen Company gesagt haben wurde wohl die ganze Company gebannt weil es da wohl ein paar Cheater oder so zwischen gab. Ich war aus zeitgründen eine ganze weile nicht online und würde jetzt gern wieder mit Atlas anfangen aber mit einem Ban geht das ja schlecht. Kann mir da jemand helfen? I've written to support several times but I've never received an answer. As two fellow players from my company at the time told me, the whole company was probably banned because there were a few cheaters or something like that. I haven't been online for a while due to time constraints and would now like to start using Atlas again, but that's hard to do with a ban. Can someone help me with that?   13. So in the past 2 weeks, we've had 2 complete bases just wiped from existence. No bags where storage is, nothing. Claim towers are still there, but everything inside is just gone. They haven't been neglected. We always make sure to visit anywhere we have claims. We saw in the log that one of our warehouses disappeared. When we fast traveled over there to check it out, everything disappeared all at once and the bed was gone. This happened to 2 different islands Nothing was outside of the claim area and both were visited. Anyone else experiencing this? This was a major buzzkill for us as we just lost 2 warehouses full of stuff and lots more with our bases.

We all know the whole playerbase being low discussion as well as the devs don’t care about numbers discussion, but in all reality the players themselves care about numbers. we won’t get too far into the past or anything but there were some people that thought this update/wipe would bring people back. Well if we consider that 1,500 people were going to change the state of the game that was just false. The downward trend is continuing and I wanted to give enough time for steam charts to actually show the trend so there wasn’t any reason for debate. This time there is already a rapid decline which means player numbers will drop far faster than last time or any other time. there has just been too many bad decisions that have been made over the past 2 1/2 years. People used to try to say the ship was sinking last year but it wasn’t really yet, it was just leaking. The sinking is happening now however. I wanted to pick a time of the day like right now where it isn’t fully peak but also not the middle of the night to show bias so I decided with right now. Out of the 2k players online around 800 are Unofficial servers and there is currently more pve players on than either of the pvp servers. No both pvp servers put together but that would just be sad to need to do that to prove a point. And in all reality if we co vine both pvp servers we really need to combine pve and Unofficials. Just saying. what we can clearly see is that the whole state of the game is in bad shape with no light at the end of the tunnel. They cater to Megas as well as pvpers but it hasn’t worked so far so yeah. don't worry this isn’t a pve/pvp thread, this is simple a “the devs haven’t made a good decision in years” thread. They have not to not lied at every corner but also betrayed everyone. quick tip for devs for the next wipe. Nobody wants a new map and nobody is going to give you and respect or credit for making a new map. Don’t pretend like you are good and no how to code. You simply and lazily copy and paste some crap with a tiny amount of alteration. You should definitely not be proud, but be ashamed. Total failures. There is a reason you have already lost 200 players of the 1500 you gained. Stop thinking of ideas, you are not good at it. Trying doing what you are told and things will go a lot better for you. Know your role.
  15. White knighting does contribute one bit. They do however need to know they are doing a crappy job which they are. Also, if they continue on the path they are going they will continue to fail. They don’t need to hear “good job” because they haven’t ever done one. This isn’t elementary school where they pass out participation trophies. This is the real world. hey devs, best advice you can get. Anytime you ever have any idea no matter how big or how small, automatically do the opposite and then and only then will you do a good job. Don’t even think about making a new map again. Nobody asked for it and that is the only thing you have done. How about surprise everyone and have an update that fixes all the bugs. Like all of them. You wouldn’t even have to add anything and people would be happy. but no, I am sure we will just get another shitty map nobody asked for. Smh.
  16. I went through this all last week and wasted my time. The Linux binaries haven't worked in months and the devs have abandoned trying to make it work, though they haven't abandoned selling ark and atlas DLC.
  17. Haven't played in months but I thought i read a patchnote saying there was a way... anyway heres what we used to do.. Unless something changed from several montths ago WHENEVER my trading partners or I had an issue we... 1 All got in chat together. 2 Demoed our markets 3 Then 1 by 1 we synced them up If private mode is still an option and functions then maybe it will help with the trade request spam, i doubt it though Good luck

Again, the objection I have to fast travel is that if the game is marketed as being pirate oriented, and I agree that for a game we are told is the ultimate pirate experience, there is actually no opportunity to engage in piracy (look up the definition of piracy, it involves hijacking of commercial shipping by force over water), then sailing would be a core activity of such a game. If the game is doing poorly and large chunks of the playerbase are complaining that sailing is boring, the solution is not to create a workaround which short circuits a core activity, but to improve your content in ways that makes that core activity more appealing. The reason why I don't think fast travel is a good idea for Atlas even if that is accomplished is a phenomenon common to gaming and gamers which developers are aware of, but that gamers themselves tend to be extremely poor at perceiving. Many gamers, when confronted with an aspect of a game they find too challenging, boring, or taking up too much time, loudly call for changes to alter the experience to tone down the challenge, shorten the time investment etc etc. They most often fail to realize this has the consequence of accelerating their journey to complete boredom with the game. Especially with the MMO genre, it has been proven time and again that no development team, not even the well funded behemoth at Blizzard, can produce content faster than most gamers can comsume it. This means that time sinks and higher levels of challenge difficulty are necessary for the long term viability of any MMO. For Atlas, that would be allowing fast travel. Letting players zip back and forth across the map would only accelerate the speed with which they reached a point their boredom with the game could not be reversed, and this is assuming the present lack of meaningful content were actually eliminated, which it has by no means been. Let me be clear, this isn't me saying "you can't have fast travel because if you do you'll suddenly be more likely to notice they haven't put much actual content in." this is me saying "Look, even IF they put in a bunch of meaningful content, allowing fast travel would inevitably lead to a large percentage of the playerbase just becoming bored with a game they might otherwise enjoy." The random encounter you never expected while moving from point A to point B can often be some of the most memorable and rewarding gaming experiences most players have in an MMO, and while fast travel looks appealing, in the end the cost of the conveniance it offers is acceleration towards tedium. This game desperately needs to make sailing less boring because sailing is the very thing you should expect to be doing most of the time in a pirate game, not riding a bear or an elephant around while you build a base and attempt to breed veliceraptors under another name. Spare me the argument it's pirate/fantasy, yes that is a loophole that lets you shoehorn other things in, but if you don't think the majority of your prospective players are here primarily for the pirate experience, you haven't been paying attention the past year. The game is failing because you aren't providing that experience, and the one you are providing isn't at it's core holding people's interest.
  19. Dude, I have been claiming factions before probably anyone(not competing here). I am completely with you on this. They literally put their knee pads on for megas. They must have been busy. if you haven’t noticed though, ark always catered to Megas as well. Ark was a success however, where atlas was a crappy copy and paste ark. these guys literally didn’t do anything different except make more water besides land. It really was pathetic.

The only issue you might run into is if for any reason you are logged out during the taking of an island, when you log back in, some of the bases glitch out, the base will respawn on top of the previous base that was already there. So what you get is essentially two buildings occupying the same space, so when you raise the banner, you get the camp, but then you have to move around the banner and raise the second hidden banner that is right next to the first one so that both parts become yours and then you can do what you wish with the camps. Haven't thought of looking for the second banner til now, but will have to try it the next time I come across the glitch. What I have been doing is using the console commands to make the second buildings mine as well so I can demolish them, cause if you don't, it won't let you build anywhere around it cause it is still considered and enemy base even though you took the camp. It is quite tedious using the console commands cause you have to do it on each item in the camp. I'd rather just build my own base anyhow, but usually leave at least one bed and equip enough supplies at each camp if I ever decide to fast travel back to an island for any reason. I haven't had the glitch if I take over the whole island before I log off though. The glitch only seems to apply to active pirate camps left on the island between logins. So if you do what I do when I come to each island and sail around taking out any pirate ships first, then land and take out each base, but the amount of ammo required to take out the ships is considerable, but if you log off before taking the whole island, the ships will respawn and you have to fight them all over again unless you happen to take over the camp that ship was tied to before logging off. I am having to constantly be making gunpowder and cannon balls before I go to the next island, which means I have to farm a lot of coal, flint and metal on each island I take over. So I stock up on a lot when I can. I have a 41 gun brig, 13 guns rear, 6 front, 11 on each broadside, so I go thru a lot of ammo. I tried to make the brig an all rounder and also placed ballistas so I can also do whaling, but for some reason the ballistas don't fire at the whales, even though I can mount each one and load them, the crew will not fire at a target, I figure they are just too high up or blocked by something even though I have no problems firing them, must be something in the mechanics that are impeding them. Had the same issue trying to put them on the rear deck of a galleon, they won't fire. So when in whale country, I will just have to stop and build a Whaling Schooner, since I don't seem to have that issue shooting from a Schooner, even though the rear mounted ballistas are almost as high as the ones on the back of the brig. The broadside ballistas I mounted on the brig are in doorways, but the ballistas are placed well in front of the door, so that they stick out as much as possible, I've even tried removing the doorway, but there was armor plating above the ballistas that may have been impeding them somehow. Oh well....
  22. Figured I would do this so I wouldn’t have to make multiple threads. Getting a really good vibe from these ships. Haven’t seen the galleon yet but damn they are pretty realistic. btw the maps went well. All commons so far but on my island that is what we have gotten. Got one masterwork but it is like 12 grids away so we will just put that on the bookshelf for awhile stocking up on some gold so once we go to a galleon we can have a full crew. Not rushing anything, just having some fun. Turns out the rest of the company wasn’t too keen with my discovery grinding but I can work with it. 3 tigers in and man are they beautiful. Haven’t found my “sugar” yet. Has to be a 30 tiger. Every pet I have had in any game since WoW has been named sugar. Can’t wait till I meet him/her. God damn I want to get laid off. I know getting laid off is something most people hate but I look forward to it because I have more hours to play when that happens. only around level 30 right now, because sometimes I just like to stop and watch the sunrise/sunset. These guys did a good job on the scenery. None of the BS sun glare from ark(you better not do that here ok atlas). ill keep updating this thread as the travels go forth. No clue where atlas will take me but it is going to be an awesome ride.
  23. Wow, still at it huh realist. I remember sideng with my back at launch against all the nay sayers. It must be hard to keep that armor white by now huh. Mine has long since rusted away. Though, please try to actually read my post. 1: i specifically said non-dedicated. which means me and my friends... not pvp 2: it doesn't matter if you like the word potential or not, it's a thing. Yes, everything has potential... and many things do not fulfill it... this is looking like one of them. 3: Is the game awesome? It certainly could be. It is our genre, which is why we want it to get better so badly. 4: How can you say "so what" to the bugs? There have been almost 200 version of the game since we left and the same bugs that made us leave are still there. At some point there has to be some accountability on the part of the devs. 5: We're trying to have fun with the game, It's kinda hard when it crashes and locks up your PC constantly. Either the host crashes or the people connected crash so much that it's unplayable. 6: I never once mentioned new content. Not even sure where you got that from lol. All i want is what they have to ... you know... actually work! They focused so hard on cross platform play... which is fine, except that they haven't actually fixed the game for existing customers. It feels like that had to bring in a fresh batch of money... i mean players that haven't been disappointed by them yet in order to stay afloat. All we want is to be able to play the game we paid for without it locking up our PC's.
  24. How dare you good sir. Even if there are toxic kids on console we should definitely blame that whole deal on the fact that today’s parenting as a majority is very piss poor. My son with not play a mature game until he is of age, mainly because I am not a bad parent(yes, I am saying that anyone that lets a child play mature games especially under the age of 14 is a very bad parent ). there are so many horrible people in this world that just keep contributing to the swamp that it is not even funny. the only games I have played on pc were sim farm, C&C, TA Kingdoms, and WoW. All at different times of my life of course but I have very mainly been a co sole player this whole time. Btw this was in order. this post was in no way an attack on you and please don’t think that it is. Just more about the whole leftist crap that goes on. It is very sad to say the least. I am having a blast with co sole and haven’t actually met one bad person. You know what? Scratch that. I don’t play pvp so in all reality I can’t say how bad console players act in an offline raiding environment. I will change this to purely speculation as far as pvp goes. as far as my personal experience goes with pve I haven’t met one yet. Check this. I was saving beds on islands while I was exploring for others in my co pant to get the discovery point later on. We actually had a company from one of the islands that were 7 grids away that left a message for us saying “hey, we need to remove the bed. Just letting you know” that is paraphrased of course but yeah, things are awesome. guess I just don’t want to be a anymore. none of this was aimed towards you btw D. Just going on a tangent to be honest. My damn wife is watching some chick flick on Netflix right now so I will take this out on someone while I am waiting to sail the 7 seas. Hopefully you understand

I think if you can add the Wild Pirate Encampments (WPE) and have them patrol the seas and attack islands/ destroy structures, it would really keep the PVE experience in check and also cut down on spam (essentially increasing performance). Plus it would make more sense than the Ships of the Damned (SOTD) everywhere you go. Make the SOTD really rare, (one per Tile) this way they can be another kind of Treasure in finding them. I haven't played against the WPEs in single player but here is my idea for how they could operate: Each Tile has two or 3 WPE companies and the would follow a course in attacking an island. The WPEs would operate like aggressive animals and attack your structures (essentially helping cleanup abandoned taming pins and all other kinds of spam/griefing structures). So if you build on lawless you potentially can be attacked by a WPE. This way people will be more apt to try and land on another players island and try and join them or pay them tax. (tax has to be affordable though- for people just starting out) I think this would be a natural check on the PVE side and help bring people together. Lawless wouldn't be inundated with structures/ships. p.s. I think you would need a tutorial on this, so people know they can sail to other peoples lands to join them or pay an affordable tax. I still haven't sailed to any land that is already claimed and ive been playing for a month.
