  1. Is there a list of the 5.5% claims and what resources are there? I have a small part of an island, currently set at 10%, but rest of island is 30% so I do not even harvest there.
  2. I and sure many others note any time I see a company with a claim under 7 days and note the exact time they become available so I will be there and ready. I am level capped and need discovery points, I can make a level XP in a day, but takes a week to get the discovery points to allow me to level. So noting claims expiring is what I do. I just want one claim in every biome.
  3. This is PvE, helping other players is fun. Server population unfortunately is down, so finding others to join up is more and more difficult.
  4. People with large portions or even complete islands locked up, should allow others to claim on the low resource locations. They get protection of knowing its there, you get taxes as the build up. If you keep taxes reasonable 10% or less, they will farm on your land vs going to lawless to harvest tax free. Lawless it great place to set up small camps., put Resource and Storage chests on land to give them max retention. build a sloop with bed, smithy and mortar&pestal and you have a camp that will last 2 weeks at a time. Keep set of tools, armor and basic materials there on ship, and you can rebuild even after a longer time gone. Fast travel to refresh, harvest and load resource chest and every once in a while during non-double harvest time. transport them to your main camp. I know people do, but you should not build anything that can't be lost in lawless land, keep your good stuff on a ship there, resources in resource chest on ground.
  5. I have 10% taxes, but looking to lower it to 5.5% Every one else on island is 30%, which I can stand, and as result I farm on other islands. For 30% I will got to lawless island and farm. Unfortunately our island is one of few with rubies and I don't have any on my land, however, I get fiber by the thousand. One 10 minute harvest on double weekend will about 100K fiber. As result I also get lots of that, mint and berries in my bank.
  6. We welcome visitors, and leave all the people buildings unlocked, often leaving crafting station empty and unlocked. We have buoys marking dangerous places where there is extended shallow water. Default color, something unexpectedly dangerous right there, if multiples do not sail between them. Green underwater outcrop from land. Red closest dangerous area gets to land. Company Color (Cerulean Blue) reserved spot in near land, safe passage is far in water. White Safe docking for public temporary (overnight ok). Schooners can go between green and red in calm water, but go slowly. there may be some turns. to make the course. we are working on a signaling system for Brigs and Galleons. We also like to build the Shipyards sticking in water past the dangerous areas. Larger ships should not sail between shipyards and land.. Usually have dock or zip line from land to ship yard. To OP, don't block inlets or other ships from getting out to sea. Unless invited in message don't park at the docks overnight. Stopping to do a treasure map and get discovery points most don't mind. The ones that do, usually have the land blocked off with large gates. For longer stays, like until next weekend, find a nice spot on beach, back up to land and drop anchor. There is lots of spots for that. no one will likely even notice your there. Also when avoiding a storm, there is a term for that "Any port in a storm".
  7. I use common blueprints to do this. They cost the same and can make them in smithy,
  8. I like this idea, would like to be able to add a dinghy do to a pier to lift it up, so could have storage chests next to pier's dinghy dock for quick unloading. the players on land can from it from there while you get next load. I do that with sloops now, but a dinghy would be easier to handle.
  9. I parked a ramshackle sloop for my first run to FoY. Used it the second time last weekend, Its anchored, and completely blocked in by ships could not leave it I wanted to. No ship should last unattended for a over month anywhere, anchored or not. There are many ships out there from companies that no longer are playing and have not played for over a month. Ships should have a decay timer just like other things/ If in your or ally's claim, all is good, if not you will have to refresh it every so often.
  10. Cobras seem to be able to get past walls and even still between foundations. The only thing the can't seem to do is climb, although the can strike up a from inside a foundation, they cannot climb up a to a full foundation (half wall) higher.
  11. I loved these and rounded element in CFK in ARK. The Rounded ones were nice too. I see the issues with walls and ceiling, as the right/left issue, but doors changes shape depending what they are snapped to. Right/left already handled slopped walls.
  12. The ability to dry-dock a ship in a shipyard would be very nice. even if it becomes a list of parts and has to be released and possibly renamed.
  13. I personally think the pets and NPCs should have an option to only follow targeted group calls. Specifically only reacte when a "ALL" action is for their specific tame group. There are many times I would like all the good Melee pets to attack, or all the sheep to come here. But to allow them to do that I have to worry about someone hitting the "Call ALL" without a group selected and the entire pet collection the NPC to come running. For now the only real option is to turn the pets to ignore group calls until way out for the group I want, the use the group calls, NOt something done during an surprize attack. A behavior option to Ignore ALL group calls would but allow specific group calls would be useful.
  14. Aggressive whales are common in Polar regions, I was jumped by one just a crossed the border in J1 no time to react and it flung my ship a decent distance and took 6 planks to under 500 heath. was a close call and luckily had full sails up and set to the wind, had to rush to get the panels fixed before water got to top, DO NOT sail in polar regions with a heavily laden ship, you must be able to out run the whales they can sink almost anything quickly. The Tundras hjave some whales but thjey are not all agressive like the polar regions and not as frequent. Also carry a repair hammer and have plenty of repair materials available, carring a plank or two on you is useful two, but whales take out multiple planks at same time.
  15. Brigs draw aggro far more than Schooners and Brigs have the further disadvantage of being slower. IN a Brig or above you almost have to run canons to protect yourself, you should not take out of port unless your ready to fight. Schooners can usually scoot past them if you don't get too close. If your used to Schooner, yes the SoD will seem far more aggressive.
  16. I was in the Polar region, Literally the only one on the server. I come to a a fairly large island. the only human structures I saw were claim flags which covered the island, a couple banks and with taxes set 30%. The claims were protected for 20 days before they could be challenged. Disgusted I left my ship anchored of my ship and bed returned to base. I have been up there a couple times never more than 3 player on the server (there are 4 islands) and The other main island is just is claimed it does have a couple minor structures but still 30% rate most of the places. Now even the most remote regions of the game are blocked from new players building, or even harvesting material with out a handicap. A couple players can render a region near unplayable with no more effort than visiting once a week. In PvE claims should require upkeep and the higher the taxes the higher the upkeep. Discourage people from claiming land and doing nothing with it. I am going to head over to the one lawless polar server so I can collect resources without taxes. I have not been to the other 29 polar regions but I doubt they are much different. Tundras are almost completely claimed, the rest of the biomes have been claimed for a while. We only have land because it was gifted/traded from other players, without even other players on, can't even negotiate with them. I don't mind active regions having claims, but when everything is claimed, foundation spammed and/or walled off and 5 or less players on the server, none responding to chat, this game does not look good for the long term.
  17. So far, knock wood, our stacked foundation walls are holding back the giant snakes. the floors are also 2+ foundations thick and still have animals drop through, We have noticed, that rattlesnakes, giant snakes and seagulls can get though open doors, We do not have a gate, but use elevator to get pets in the pen, and ramp to get them out.
  18. Currently there is NOTHING that can be done about anchored ships. They are there forever, even if the person was not on it. IF not anchored you can push to see with another ship and sooner or later weather or SoD will sink it. While I don't want people not to be able to anchor on claimed land they has to be some way of dealing with effectively abandoned ships in game on claimed land. Griefing with ships and rafts is far to easy, often with rafts, you get them stuck and cannot move them, and instead of skuttling them, they just recall to freeport and make another.
  19. I fixed it by killing myself and prespawning, on respawn I(free ports were only choices) , I was back able to use the game and then killed myself again and return to company bed.
  20. On NA PvE I login, do not see other players names, cannot open inventory on any item, including my one. Server does not show anything for player count, but can see other players, bit cannot interact with them.
  21. When I crossed from B6 to B7 I was kick out of game, ans ship seems to be stuck between on the line. and cannot be selected as re-spawn work. While I only lost 15K Fiber and a Sloop, this bug is worrisome as its the entire premise of the game is to move between servers safely. IF you can loose ship and cargo on clear sails at any change of servers, the game is not worth playing. If this was a galleon, I likely would have quit. Update: While I could not recall to that ship, a crew mate could and saw my body sleeping (not dead) on the boat even though I was on another map. The ship was still sailing full sail, luckily she navigated the storm and avoid running it aground. Cargo was saved. But it was only use of the second crewman. Once she stopped the ship, I could recall and my sleeping body disappeared. This still a bug but was recoverable. Looks like I had one map segment server think I am in the server B7, the master server though I was B6.
  22. Some one that is not in company should not stop the declaim. The claim yes.
  23. Sleeping in area will hold an existing claim, but will not allow you to claim an area.
  24. I think there should be another dynamic to this, the tax that is charged is based on number of claims and tax rate charged. There would be a base rate, but when you add taxes it goes up accordingly. 0% tax 100% of charged rate, 10% double that., 30% tax double that again. I would charge 1 gold per game day, per claim as base. (1 + TaxRate*10) I would further make the company pay it in a Freeport tax collector, no more than RL week past due or claims revoked. You should have option paying as far in advance as you want, but once paid, no return of gold already paid (this tax collector not a bank). Taxes are charged ever game evening at evening music. This would get companies to claim only what the can support, encourage lower taxes, require the company to be active in play and allow some one to take an extended location. If you want a single plot and not charging taxes, cost would be trivial. Large Companies with many claims and high taxe, upkeep would require work, but in turn they are affecting many other players play,
  25. I feel for you, One company put a raft in my slip and is now spamming the island with foundations
