  1. I for one am thankful that the ships that are not being used are being deleted. More room in the harbor. More FPS. Less crap we have to worry about. Otherwise it just piles up. Junk upon junk. Its like a hoarder situation when it comes to boats, NPCs and tames.
  2. I hate the storms because they show up at the worst time and ruin the experience for me. When I am in a fleet battle the last thing I want is for a storm to drop 50 f'ing tornadoes interfering with our fight. We had over 60 people in grid for this battle at sea and the storms were horrible. I play this game for the PvP and so many times nature ruins it. I already have 50 other people trying to kill me or sink my ship. I don't need no damn shark eating me, a tornado ripping my boat apart of a lion chomping on me.
  3. The amount of maintenance with the old claim system was mind numbing. Single claim for an entire island so much easier to deal with.
  4. Its not game breaking. This change was done to prevent people from parking boats at Power Stone islands and dragging AoD to their ships where swivels would tear them up. People in a single day could level their ships up to 52. This is no more. Large companies and alliances were dominating the Golden Age Ruins to do this and hunt for high level SoTD. The easy leveling was taken away so this is less of a focus. This should please smaller companies as there is less traffic in these zones now.
  5. Boom I see no point in arguing with him. As to the person talking about not seeing anyone in 9 grids I want to know where the heck he is at. I know a good 12 grids he can sail through. If he survives more than 2-3 I would be surprised. NA PvP is at war. Dozens of companies and several large alliances are going at it daily. Its been a blast with both sides hitting each other hard. Just look for the grid with over 100 people in it duking it out. That has been what we averaged daily the last several days.
  6. I agree in that the current huge issue is player health pools at high levels and the armor sets that boost it even more along with providing resists. Sniping someone in the head and seeing 34 in green float up is very discouraging. Its even more discouraging when you realize that person has over 500hp. Watching players tank tames, puckles and multiple defenders is just plain dumb. No skills. Just levels and gear. Correct these things and grenades become less of an issue.
  7. Yeah I assume the 5 day timer started when the patch hit. It did not mention being retroactive. @Jatheish ships that are fully salvaged should be removed immediately from the map and the frame should disappear. One less thing for the server to worry about. No timer. No ship in the DB. It is immediately removed. If this was the case I would salvage ships more often just to get them off the damn map.
  8. I like this. You leave a ship un-anchored and its stolen that is on you. Ship boarded at sea and taken.....again on you. Could make for some fun fights on the decks of ships as people respawn on beds. Until that time you have a chance to take it back. Maybe you can sail it off and hide it somewhere. They can put a claim down on it to make the theft official. Maybe have the ship show up on the Atlas giving the other side the chance to track it down and take it back. I can imagine the rescue attempts being organized for this. Mission impossible style. It the ship is not needed they can just sink it and recover the resources/booty. If its a BP boat well the stakes are high in that case and keeping that kind of prize would be worth the fight. Just tossing around ideas.
  9. My pier was up for about 2 months with no issues. Issues started right after the update. Maybe not related, but raises my eyebrows.
  10. Yeah the discord webhook is awesome, but I agree that the logs in game should be UTC and not ingame time. Like he said it means nothing to no one.
  11. Haha yeah I get where the both of you are coming from. In all honesty I think increasing speeds for the sake of making PvP less difficult to get to at distance would be a bit of a short sighted mistake. If you are using current game politics, geography, and server populations to form this opinion it is in direct contrast to what the devs envision this game to be when it officially launches. They see a world with many more people in it. Conflict will be readily available in your neck of the woods. People complain enough about offline raiding. Megas. PvP mechanics in an open world. The complaints that would arise from people being able to sail much further in the same amount of time would only increase. Griefers Atlas wide would rejoice in being able to reach new victims.
  12. I've never set foot on a PvE server so figured maybe it was different. Maybe he plays on a private server? Maybe he is on crack? All valid questions.
  13. How about both of you agree to disagree and shut the hell up.
  14. Awe PvE and PvP getting along. How cute. Yeah PvP requires a ton of ingots. I made 12,000 over the weekend. I expect those ingots to be gone in the next day or so.
  15. Patch notes: - Sunken ships will always destroy after 5 days on Official Servers. This will clear the icon from your maps too, as long the area where the boats were sunk have been revisited. I believe ships that are fully salvaged should disappear in minutes. Ships that have salvage remaining can sit around for 5 days giving people time to recover resources.
  16. Bodies disappear when logging off? That's news to me. Is this a PvE thing? On official PvP servers when you log off your avatar lays down and goes to sleep. The body stays there sleeping until you log in next, get killed or moved. My brother went on vacation for a couple weeks so I took his body and locked him up in a cage so he has a nice surprise when he wakes up.
  17. Remove my vote from that. I misunderstood the poll's intentions and want to change my vote to No. EDIT: I like the large world and that some companies on the far side of the Atlas appear to be out of reach. Its like Eve in that respect. I enjoy the vastness and knowing that there are things going on out there we are not aware of. We might be never aware of or hear about it hours, days, weeks, months later. I think the problem Willard talks about stems from the populations we see now. If we had 4x the pop, heck even 2x there would be a lot more companies vying for land locally in his area and the seas would have more ships. There would be more action. Last 2 nights we have engaged in fleet battles including 20+ ships and 60+ people. We meet halfway, talk some shit and have fun. At the end everyone says gg and goes home. Its been really exciting. We make the content. We have that control.
  18. I find that people at fault are the ones who get all pissy when you won't take a strangers word for it.
  19. I hope they scrap the airship idea. I really do.
  20. We have done a dozen high level maps the last 24 hours and did not experience this.
  21. This is one of the stranger threads I have seen. Don't even know where to begin.
  22. This would be his work's network blocking traffic. Most companies lock down their network and only allowed approved traffic. Security security security.
  23. They updated decay mechanics and this started. I replaced about 15 ceiling tiles on my dock yesterday. Replaced 4, came back an hour later and more were gone. This went on all day. Curious what will be missing today when I get home from work.
