Hmm. I have to agree that this is a bad direction for the games development at this time. and is almost certainly going to harm the game. firstly, it was marketed as an MMO, why people are requesting it, and why the devs are doing it is beyond me! The devs are really struggling to separate the mechanics of PvP and PVE as it is. When they tweak the game for one it usually has an undesired effect of the other. (When they did the wipe, they played with the idea of completely separating the mechanics of PvP and PVE then decided not to, shame, they really should have.) As the game stands, i forsee that within 2 weeks of SP release the forums will be inundated with people complaining about lack of content and boredom on SP, or that they’re struggling with some of the aspects that are not designed for SP, like the kraken. The only way I can see SP working long term is if there are modes, that can, for example make atlas a true survival game, or even timed goals and challenges. it will also slow down overall development. I sincerely hope I’m going to be proved wrong, but I doubt it sadly.

Who the hell buys an mmo then requests single player?

Currently, meat in an animal trough lasts 40 minutes and stacks to 20, which means that one stack of meat (in theory) will fully decay in 13 hours. However, meat-eating young, like lions or wolves, eat an incredible amount of meat, and a single lion cub (along with decay) will empty a completely full trough in just a few hours. Add in the fact that any nearby adult meat-eating tames will always choose to eat meat first, and it can become a round the clock task to keep the troughs full of meat. All of our tamers have sworn off of breeding meat-eating tames citing trivialities like 'sleep', ;family' and 'jobs'. There are some really simple things that you could do to make this aspect of the game less painful. For example: 1. Increase meat stacking to 100. 2. Allow ice to be used in animal troughs.

Amazing how fast you were able to contact 50 Million console Players And Asked them about their opinion. You will Save the Game. Also travelling from bed to bed is a amazing idea aswell. Just Need to get rid of oceans And Maybe add More Dinos.

I've the feeling this is their exit plan - patch in single player, release for console and call it quits. Player numbers are down so hard it isnt funny anymore

Natural Law clearly doesn't work.... Look no further then Atlas and Rust to see what natural law is... Just a pack of Griefers chasing everyone else out of the game!

You are correct, but I would not rely on "law and order and crime", as that is player made, or should be in a good game. It should be more a set of "natural laws" that make PVP till you're wiped. Wiping seems to be the current state of the game. You hear of some large company wiping the other company and the next info you get is, they left... THE GAME... More likely than not even the most comitted to the game will stop playing, when he gets wiped by some exploit and or stupid game mechanic - which this game has ALOT. Meaning you can build what ever defense you want, the attacker has the "stream-able" adavantage. The moment you find out the hard way that there was never a valid possibility to defend and survive, the game is broken for you beyond repair and you STOP WASTING YOUR TIME with it. People can live with such exploitable mechanics and stupid design decisions, until the get wiped. So the question is, why do people get wiped to the point of leaving the game? Easy, as it is the same underlying answer as before. Because of the PVP setup the attacker has the superior advantage over the defender. Meaning the defender builds massive defences and stil receives massiv damage from a lonely cannon bear or other over-powered thing that basically cost nothing for the attacker. So if you are at war with another company and your enemy is danagerous up until he forever lost the ability to harm you at his will with almost zero investment = cannon bear, etc. your only option to get to this point is to get him to quit the game, in that leaving you alone. Therefore wiping is basically the only way - apart from diplomacy - to win over your enemy, if your wiping them can get them to quit. And that is basically the only working option for the defender in that case to be save. The attacker those not want to get you quit, because he wants to come back for you again in the furture. As a side show, everyone weaker - like normal players just minding there own business - get the same treatment when found by chance and come to the same conclussion and leave THE GAME, because it is BROKEN. How can the game fix this? Well what we tell the devs all the time, FIX exploitable PVP and make it a leveled battlefield, meaning the attacker needs to invest equal or more resources to win over the defender. Only at that point attackers will think twice about attacking anything and may keep damages to the other side low = safe their own resources invested in the attack. At that point wiping would be more expensive for the attacker than for the defender. And the attacker would only have to hurt the defender to the level were his own defenses cannot be broken in a possible counter attack, because that would take the other side some time get back to strenght. Right now the other guy just needs to tame another bear and make some cannon balls and all your stuff is at risk from him still. Hence you have to make him quit the game so you can be save.

The cargo containers speed penalty should scale with the amount of weight inside of the box, which is such a simple solution. Such a great idea, but was implemented in such a nonsensical way. Difficult to express in words how stupid it is that you need to demolish the structure to avoid getting a speed penalty on an empty box, and then install a new structures when you arrive at your location and want to sail back with your goods. This concept that they are going for extends to every aspect of the game which is wasteful and doesn't really have any logical basis other than wanting people to farm every more. Everything non-structure related (IE not walls, ceilings, etc) should be pickup enabled. No reason you should not be able to uninstall a cannon to upgrade it with one with a better stat. The fact that you have to destroy everything in the game is just wasteful.

    - Cannon bears out range NPC emplacements - Submarines can drain ship/emplacement ammo as they are targeted but cannot be hit while underwater - High HP builds can tank defenses and destroy them with grenade spam The list goes on and on. Essentially the only defense is to be online and actively fighting the invaders. Otherwise no matter what you can do they will be able to outsmart the defenses and use the game flaws to their advantage. The game has aspirations of having this huge player run economy with the way the resources are spread out, the intent is to encourage trading and exploration. Though what the designers intend and what the players do are most often vastly different. Hard to say if they are listening to their player base or if they hope that by pushing out new content they will get enough people onboard that they will end up staying. The game population is sickenly low, with half playing on private servers and the remaining half split between 4 Official servers. Every passing month there is a consistent decline in the population. They really need to start listening to their community.

It is definitely true, we tested it with all types of weapons Edit: To the topic. It´s ok if cannon bears outrange swivels/puckels. It´s broken they outrange NPC cannons/ballistas.

Ye I tried to explain that a bit earlier in this post but ppl claim it's not true. I even suggested they should test it themself. Fact is: NPCs on cannons/puckles/whatever do not shoot when they should.

imo they really shouldnt be adding single player , the already low population on the serves will get worse , are they developing an mmo ? or are they finally going to admit that the game has failed pump out a single player version and call it a day and leave the rest to modders ? as this sounds very much like that is what is happening , either develop and mmo or single player make your minds up devs you are killing your own game patch by patch , what are the players going to do in single player ? sit on their islands alone with nothing to do but build and dont tell me you single player mode players are going to sail around you will just use admin commands to teleport about , and how many of the grids are the single players going to use ?

Grats......you got a ....private server? Come build all the amazing things you can build in PvE. Except this time no one can see it hahahaha! I would agree you dont need any real buildings as a SP game, but by that lodgic you dont really need much if any for PvE mode as it is. I imagine a PvE player builds to show off what they can do. If this is true, then wtf would you do in SP mode? BTW, so glad devs are spending the resources to accommodate all the players who DONT want to play the MMORPG they are supposed to be developing. New ships......nah, I know most people playing this game want a SP mode first. Thats what this MMO needs. That will draw in lots more MMO players. Thats what all the good MMOs did, er.....wait..... This is fucked.

It was a slight exaggeration the 100s in seconds but I think you already know that. You're just a grenade fan I can see that. but we got at least 80 killed in less than 5 minutes, because all it takes is for you to spam them on a laggy server with like I said, absolutely no skill involved. barley even need to aim buddy all you have to do is go all league of legends and spam that left click and boom you're a pro. In that 5 minutes we got a few people back to defend because of the travel limit, with absolutely no chance of defending. Blown through multiple layers of stone because all it takes a couple of people spamming. If that's your style of play that fair enough. I guess you don't care about the player numbers dropping? I guess you don't care these are the reasons why? And don't try and tell me it isn't. Because if I'm honest I'd say the only thing in the game that is ridiculously OP is the fact you can carry hundreds of them on one person and just wreck stuff. and if you think this is realistic or even remotely fun then I'm just talking to a brick wall. My mindset to fill you in is variety you tell me where that exists in raiding? as soon as the grenades are gone the raid stops... why? because they got no other plays cause that's all some people can do. We can go back and forth all day on this. So lets just agree we have a difference of opinion and not argue about it. You have yours and I have mine.

Noone goes sailing irl if there is no wind. They don´t need to put it in game which is supposed to be fun

Man, we have no problem crafting mythical BPs either nor problem with organisation. That´s not the problem. It´s just about how time consuming it is. If smt is time consuming it does not mean it´s hard, there is nothing hard about sailing 3 hours somewhere, get material and sail back. It´s simply boring. Difficult to attack someone further away? Again it´s not difficult, just time consuming. If something is time consuming you consider it difficult, that´s a mistake. I love ship fights in this game. Problem is the game doesn´t allow me to do that more than 3 grids away because it takes insane amount of time to even GET TO SHIPFIGHT.

it would be nice if we could drop the cargo container not only when the ship is destroyed but on purpose so we can just drop the container on a close enough dock construction, pick up another cargo container and sail on. for example when selecting "place container" from the cargo rack menu we can then place it in a small area around the cargo rack on land, water or the ship deck, when there is enough free room to place the container. it would allow the crane to function well as a crane and help with ship constructions that collide with cargo racks hanging on the outside. they can still be spottet by pirates when placed on deck.

I think Guy was pretty clear that he doesn't reproduce it consistently (neither do I, for the last 3 weeks since they applied some fixes). If YOU do, why don't YOU do what you just said and record it for us. You clearly are passionate enough to ask for a fix every few days. Are you passionate enough to help the devs fix things, or is that where you draw the line?
