  1. Why stop on just the fur from wolves? with the numbers that have to deal all the time, an armor made straight from everything wolf is made of would even work.
  2. Snakes are a joke compared to wolves, they poison but just have fortitude high and mainly, they are slightly slower than a player, wolf is much much faster than a player + they have insane attack speed and knockback but agree, predators make exploring islands something that don't want ever do.
  3. Would be nice if the alpha version of a horse did not attack innocent players. Even standing next to a horse scares them which also causes agro of an alpha horse, seen a wolf running fast for piece of thy ass?, watch no further as this horse is faster than sonic the hedgehog and will cross the screen in max 2-3 seconds without water.
  4. Remove the instant creature Hp regen until you learn how to fix it so when im stuck in a wolf because its buggy as hell and glitches everywhere and beating it with a sword it doesnt have infinite health
  5. I can actually chime in on this (not to derail my own thread but...) The physics and collision work pretty well because it's UE4. You can implement your own libraries but most dev don't as stock UE4 is good enough. Their net code on the other hand is something I'd personally like to inspect the source because it's most likely the root of these issues. Combined with other features such as stasis/hibernation and chunk streaming. Edit: Unless you're referring to E.G: a wolf biting through a wall. That is simply because collision boundaries do not conform to the mesh.
  6. Nvm, just hit a wolf head for 315 dmg..., wonder why didn't before, must have wonky hitbox.
  7. Took me 25 shots to kill an Alpha wolf with my flintlock pistol. I did it from my ship... I also killed an alpha lion from the balcony of my house.

It actualy is the case, from own experience after 50 hours of playing not touching passive creatures and only murdering stupid predators will lead to a better future, it won't work on a big island tho. Once even created a place where there was no wolves for few hours after killing them bcs horses and pigs took over their spawn, then gathered there safely cotton untill some newb came and killed few things for food and went away, just 10 minutes after they left was almost killed by a wolf ambush and with 1-2 bites left crawled back up on boat as 2 new wolves started to chase.
  9. So I've recently been experimenting with NPC crewmen, and discovered how amazing they are at helping to man the sails and also do repairs on my ship while it's anchored. But, my question is, what else can they do? I've seen brief mentions that they can also do stuff in your base, but I'm not sure what they can do. And it seems like you can bring them out hunting with you and possibly gathering resources as well. Has anyone tried this? I'm always worried that one wolf will wipe out my entire crew in the blink of an eye!
  10. So im level 9, Made it to a lawless island to further my journey, Met by a few low level wolves. A lvl 1 and a level 3. Wearing full cloth armor, Equipped with 10 spears and full health(all skill points in health except 2) and balanced vitamins, I get 2 -shotted by considerably lower level creatures. I hit the level 1 wolf nearly 7 times for its health to only sit at 3/4's.....They are beyond broken. yet in a freeport I can solo level 20 elephants and rhinos. WTF?! Lower their attack speed and damage please. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
  11. They need to fix the animals from walking through walls and killing sleepers. Last night when i was offline alpha wolf walked Through the walls and killed all the sheep and chickens protected in the house.
  12. In the 20 hours I have played this game. Below is my experience. - Dying from being cold. - Dying from the million aggressive animals. - Dying from respawning under the map. - Running around trying to find a space on Lawless island that isn't littered by foundations. - Sailed for maybe 4 of those hours on my raft. - Built maybe 30 rafts, only for them to be completely destroyed when I log back on the next day. This game is not for the solo player. It's seems impossible to get going in this game by yourself. Hell, probably would be hell just for 3 people. HOWEVER. The one thing I need to give probs to the developers on. I have never gotten startled in a video game before until I played Atlas. Just randomly smacking rocks and trees, then all of sudden a wolf comes out of no where and eats me. It makes no sounds when coming after you until it actually attacks you. Okay, it got me once.. No problem. But it just gets me every time.
  13. Yeah, this works, but it is much harder for a small crew, or single player, especially with the Alphas. They regenerate health pretty fast, so make sure you have a lot of arrows, because even if you spec'd the power shot, which is supposed to make all your arrows hit harder (not the armor piercing shot), you don't do much damage to an alpha with each hit...even an alpha sheep or pig. So, if you have to make more arrows, you will find that the alpha has regained a whole lot of health back. The issue with the predators is the long aggro range, the not so smooth way they move towards you, causing you to waste precious chances for a hit on them, and the way they heal every time they hit you. If on land, I don't find the Crocs to be much of a pain because they are a big, slow target. The animals that are a frustration, so far are Any Alpha Predator Wolf Tiger Lion Giant Snake Rattler Because of the Island we are on, being large, with lot's of valleys, it funnels lots of these things to you. It's not uncommon to try to battle 2 or 3 lions or wolves, and have 1 to 3 snakes join in on the action. When we have 3 or 4 of us, it's somewhat manageable, but with two, it's not uncommon for both to get killed, and if just one, it's pretty certain death unless you can find a rock you can get on, that they cannot. Good luck with that when you are out foraging, and they surprise you.

Not getting disconnects but since they updated the servers today after they came back from new year celebrating was the time when lag spikes happened, never experienced lag in this game outside of crossing between the grids and now just gave up on playing bcs can't even defend against a single wolf if being during those lag spikes (there are small periods of calmness... then the server goes from 30 ping and jumps up and down from this point up to like 80 for no reason)

And how is that to drive a schooner alone?, is that even possible?, especialy with all those SoDs propably instantly targeting it once going between grids and having to do all the sails suff, not to mention cannons if ever wanted to fight back. As for the op, own experience from 40+ hours is spending 3/5 of that time on raft searching for land to claim or traveling to gather resources or something. Then there is like 1/5 of time being eaten by wolves and multiple times almost going to rage on steam reviews... so far didn't write a negative review but if any day an alpha wolf wilt go thro our house and will lose stuff, that will be over of our patience. The rest of the time that didn't waste by sailing or dying was about hitting trees, rocks and mosly grabbing tons of fiber, with the 1x resources insteed of 2.5x might aswell forget about gathering fiber, 1-5 per bush even with iron sickle... give us a break.
  16. As much improvement to the game that has been made I fear the shear amount of predators is going to kill any fun this game has right now. Currently the predators out spawn the non-hostile creatures and on top of that the wolves are just ridiculously fast and hit like a truck. Right now our core group of players are spread out and are playing at random times, this means that any one person online cannot do anything because there is always 6 wolves 4 crocs 2 to 3 giant snakes, and now spiders are showing up. I was just on trying to farm out some mats for the next level boat, I killed one wolf and one croc before I was gang banged all the predators on the friggin island. The spawns should be reduced by 50 to 60 percent until they can fix the combat system. I don't have a problem with making the game difficult, what I have a problem with is its unplayable with so damn many predators that agro across the island. Something needs to be done about it. Sorry its killing all the wonderful improvements they have made the last week or so.

  18. I play on NA PVE and have been parked at a lawless island not to close to shore so creatures wont get on my raft. I have been logging in daily to play and fix my raft/boxes from decay and feed my monkey, well within the past couple days I logged in and my boxes where destroyed and monkey was dead also raft was badly damaged I looked in my logs and it just says boxes were destroyed and monkey was killed, I log in today after rebuilding boxes and getting supplies built back up last night and everything was destroyed looked in my logs and it said my boxes were destroyed then a bit farther down that my raft was destroyed by a level 26 wolf. Please fix this I'm not sure if its a case of griefing like in ark or just some random bug, Thanks.
  19. OH MY GOD, so predators can kill them, then I won't get them I will get mad, everytime i log off wake up being killed by a stupid crocodile or wolf even being anchored at some distance from coast. Thank you guys.
  20. Yeah. And 400 gold will probably last you waaaay longer than any NPCs you hire. Mine keep dying super quick. If it's not a wolf dragging them overboard, it's a crocodile haha
  21. They should reduce their aggro massively, also damage, and please remove knockback and damage while on ship, they can hit you from beneath your ships keel... They still follow you, got killed couple of hours ago by a wolf while swimming.
  22. Aparently they changed silently wolf AI. They no longer are willing to follow into the water and also their chance to switch targets seems to have been raised by alot, hitting them 1-2 arrows... a horse is arround?, time to chase it, eat it and come back with full hp. Atleast don't need to eat and car about vitamins but can't leave the base aswell bcs shooting them causes them to just run away and full regen on nearby animals.
  23. In the current build the aggro radius on the Damned for sloops is WAYYY smaller than you expect, like, under 60ft, you have to almost run into them to get aggro. Our company was on the verge of giving up following their introduction; remembering vividly the Night of Blood when they were introduced. How they would relentlessly chase stuff the moment they entered line of sight, how they'd mercilessly bombard the shore, and how they sank like 95% of all ships in the game in the space of 24 hours. We were all shell-shocked survivors of Wolf 359, turns out we're now in the Voyager timeline and they've been reduced to total pussies.
  24. Yeah, 2.5x felt good and balanced, the only problem that had was having too much stuff from animals, a single wolf could give up to 40 meat, bones and hide. But now..., the food rates from animals maybe gonna be normal..., but not gonna spend few real life days to gather a reasonable amount of fiber or other building materials.
  25. Actually, we have had wolves and horses spawn inside our bases several times. They don't have to walk or glitch in. We go out for a run, no one at the base, get notified that a sleeper was killed, all of our boxes broken with a wolf inside a sealed building
