  1. TBH Orinia i WISH i had only 2 wolves and 2 lions spawning in my face. On my Island there are at LEAST 2 crocs, 5 wolves, 2 lions and about 6 giant snakes on one section of our beach (one section is about 100 yards). and not to mention there is always at least 2 alpha's that are in the same section, normally a snake, its kinda rare if its an alpha wolf. its insane how bad it is and i know that this isnt just my island. whenever we travel to get resources, most islands, especially desert and tropical, normally have similar ecosystems and the only time it isnt bad is if there is a rhino or elephant spawn.
  2. I have no idea what in the world you are talking about. We just went treasure hunting twice and it was a blast. See wolf Kill it rinse and repeat.
  3. Yes, wish predators didn't exist untill they balance them. Can't go on land on tundra bcs wolves, mean, can go... but not expecting to live long and knowing that soon gonna have ass ripped off by 1-10 wolves and will then enjoy running back for gear for like half hour untill will grab it, get to house, have 1/3 of house/raft bitten off and them finally dead from mauling them with spears... if had enough. At this point this is not an mmo, this is wolf survival simulator. Ah, also can't go into water bcs sharks. Have no idea how streamers have no predators, especialy wolves all over them, even when killed they respawn in up to like 5 minutes and the fun begins again, or how ppl in general go ocean diving when there are sharks with gps, go into water with no sharks and suddenly 1-2 are next to ya, barely can grab that bootie box without being eaten.
  4. So I finally managed to tame my first level 9 bear earlier, put him in a closed off pen with a lvl 1 tame bear later and set them to wander to see if they would breed. Logged back in and in the company log it says he (but not she, she's still alive in the pen) has been killed by a wolf. The same thing happened yesterday when I had two chickens on the upper level of a house, also set to wander to breed and logged back in and they were both dead. One was killed by a wolf and one by a rattlesnake. If they're set to wander are they just bugging out of my house/pen and getting killed or what is going on? Me and my crewmate are asleep in the house as well and have not been killed. I also have 2 cows and a third chicken not set to wander and they've all managed to stay alive. The bear was also sticking his head out of the wall so he could have been killed that way, although it does not explain the chickens dying or why the other bear is still alive when she was on aggressive and only level 1. I've seen the cows bug out of their pen when I accidentally whistled a "follow" command to apparently all the animals and got to see two cows flying over my house out of their pen which was quite ridiculous The chicken stayed stuck inside. I've turned all of the wandering off in case this is the problem but would like to know if it is that or if I need to build more walls around the house or something to stop it. [EU PvE]
  5. I'm right there with ya, Im down in the southern tundra and spend more time re-spawning from hostile creature kills than anything. Yesterday though I noticed alot more bears, I love the basterds. I started aggroing wolf packs to the bears and the bears would make short work of them. Until the lions came around...... And snakes in the Tundra? Uh they should be slow af if anything due to the fact that they need WARM environments. Also Hostile creatures do not aggro on eachother. Ive seen a pack of snakes/lions/wolves running the same path around the island. One big NPC raid group. This is stupid. If they at least killed eachother from time to time it may balance out the island a bit.

A fucking wolf broke into our Tundra house SOMEHOW and killed all of us overnight, destroyed our loom (THAT HAD 2 THOUSAND FUCKING PASTE IN IT) and I lost my Carbine (AGAIN, two of them disappeared into our Cabinets, I know because they say 45/45 and there's an empty slot where my carbine would be) and 4 flintlocks, Fur Armor. This is fucking ridiculous, Wolves are out of control, snakes are out of control, lions are out of control. Taming is near impossible as 1 person because they animals are so freakishly fucking fast even at 1 hp. This is fucking ludicrous, I'm trying to like this game but every time I turn around the Dev shows their incompetence.
  7. Just adding an obvious point in here. Whilst the game is still in development and damagin through walls is not a good thing, predators in real life are very damaging to humans. 1 wolf would kill a full grown man for sure. So you could imagine it as, not something broken, but as a real life counterpart to the wolves of today. Also, ranting post about how broken a creature in the game WILL not get it removed. But useful info will help im sure.
  8. As far as my question goes, does anyone know how to get power stone yet, or what they do? I mean I know where they are supposed to be but I've been to the power stone island and have no clue on how to get them... Are they even implemented into the game? As for my suggestion the environmental negatives need to be toned back a lot. There is no surviving on the edge of the map right now. My character is level 48 with every point I have into fortitude and fur armor. I have to be inside a building with a fire on and vitamin bonus just not to die at night time. Literally have to sit inside and do nothing for 1/3 of the day on the edge of the map it's not fun. I figured that if I leveled my character up and put a lot of points in to fortitude with fur armor I'd be able to survive on the outer edge away from the larger companies. It's just not possible in the current state to actually be productive there. If you aren't dying to cold you're dying to an army of wolves or yetis. The small island that we built a base on literally has an alpha wolf that spawns every day that we have to deal with. So as it stands we can hardly even play the game because the weather is too harsh and the alphas are too many. I'd like to enjoy the game but currently it's just not fun.
  9. If you try to kill wild animals, that fight each other, you will be dead FOR SURE. As soon as first animal dies, the second animal, that still attacks you, will start also hitting the first animals corpse. Every time it hits the corpse, it HEALS. A LOT. THEY WILL HEAL FASTER THAN YOU CAN KILL THEM. At this point you are fighting with UNKILLABLE enemy. Even worse: They KEEP HEALING EVERY ATTACK even after the corpse disappears!! If you run far away and are still alive, you can start killing the animal again, because it stops healing every hit, if you change the location far enough. This is completely broken. Basically every time you meet a wolf and a lion, you better run, because you and your tamed animal will almost surely die. Unless you somehow manage to 1. kill one of them 2. put some distance between the first animal kill place, even after the corpse is gone, 3. have enough health left to start killing again fully healed second animal. Please consider this as a priority for next patches, as it is EXTREMELY EASY to lose ANY tamed animal this way. Because it is very hard to get away from wolfs and lions once they target you. and as soon as there are more than one, one of them becomes immortal after the first one dies. At this point taming is almost pointless, because as soon as you walk into 2 different predators or even if a predator joins you, while you kill a chicken, you can die extremely easily against UNKILLABLE enemy. I understand, if the wild animals have time to eat themselves full AFTER they fight, but healing in the middle of fight is just pointless. My proposal is, that if fighting is active, any sort of harvesting is disabled. For wild AND for tamed animals. Because it's extremely stupid, if you hit a wolf and suddenly your bear has 3000 berries. Like when had it time to pick berries WHILE fighting?!
  10. I haven't lost my cool over a computer game in decades. Tonight however, I literally broke 4 keys off my keyboard. The balance of this game, wilds vs tame, the number of wild spawns, the agro radii are verging on the ridiculous. Combine that with bugs inherited from Ark that still haven't been fixed 3-4 years later, I seriously wonder about the ability of the development team. I sit browsing reddit for four fucking hours getting to an island to get cloth woven from the hairs shorn with silver scissors from the legs of Venezuelan virgins because that's the only fucking thing that cows will eat, only to find a tiger and giant snake every 100m of the km I need to run. They of course kill me with three chomps and I can't defend myself because they're teleporting around because the entire cluster is running on a Raspberry Pi or something. I'm lucky that this time no one stole the stuff from my corpse on this PVE server, but I died another four times because there's a tiger and a giant snake every fucking 100m and a few giant spiders thrown in for good measure because be fucked if players are allowed to try and run away. amirite? Eventually I get my exquisite cow fodder and sit browsing reddit for another four fucking hours to get home only to find that all my tames, which were in a pen, saddled and on Neutral were eaten by a level 16 wolf which either spawned inside the pen like the trees and rocks respawning through my foundations because fuck using perfectly working spawn-suppression code from Ark, amirite? or simply glitched through the walls of the enclosure. So I go out to replace the tames. I tame a level 15 wolf and get a bunch of levels on her. Then I find an 18 bear. Great! You have created a taming system that requires us to be near the head of the animal. That's fair enough. Don't you think that you should've also fixed, before public beta, the collision boxes such that animal heads can't bury themselves in terrain that stops you accessing the head? It didn't matter in Ark because you could access the inventory from anywhere. Instead now I have to try to dance on the body of the tame, which bounces me all over the place, while the animal, a mere level 18, thrashed to a nearly-dead bloody pulp, bites with full force and kills me with just three chomps despite wearing plate armour. Of course when I die the bola magically disappears almost a minute before it's ridiculous 90 second lifespan was due to end and kills my level 25 wolf about 2 seconds after I respawn at my bed. I've asked this question before. Please answer me. Why the fuck should I continue? I don't actually enjoy bashing my scrotum with a hammer for hours on end and that's what this game is feeling like right now. You shouldn't have released this with so many major bugs a few days before 3/4 of the world, presumably including all your developers, want to go on holidays for two weeks. Seriously. I'm wondering if this is some kind of massive troll.
  11. Fun fact.. you can carry several pistols at once... And honestly it is rare a wolf kills me and I am only level 30. I can easily deal with one sometimes two with just my bow and arrows and a sword. It is WAY easier if I use a flintlock with the above combination. Running around with a spear or your fists, yeah you are going to get wreckt by a wolf.
  12. I had to surround my base with gates due to this, alphas , the aggro range of creatures, wolf, snakes and lions all over the place. I think predators should attack each other, makes no sense that they're all "alliance'd" if you will, it's just over kill

I initially died from a wolf, then spent the next 3hours trying to get back to my base. I get Lawless islands cannot be claimed, yet you allow us to build on them, but wont allow the decency to allow us to spawn in our bed on the lawless island, So when you scrrew things up like OP'ing the wildlife - How is anyone meant to be able to play, because you also scrrewed the territory claim stuff up by allowing more than one territory claim, without any consequence..... So the average joey like me who is time limited, playing a time consumingg game, just gets rraped by wildlife for 4hourrs straigght trying to gget back to his base that he built... It's a gamebreaker through and through - At least prioritise it and fix it on the next patch, Currently people ask if I rrecommend the ggame, its a big fat NO since the last update...
  14. So, we have to spec into building, armory, archery, taming AND the advanced parts of each of those, in order to survive ? .... Your arguments are falling apart pretty fast at this pace, as there is NO way, that is possible for a new player.... MAYBE, you found a way with swimming away from the buggars, logged off if the heat was too intense, but your "helpfull" ideas, does not work. simple as that. Im level 26, i die in 2 ... TWO!!!!! bites from a wolf with no armor on. Now, imagine what 1 bite, does to a fresh player level 5.... THAT is where the issue is, as no new player, nor a bunch of high leveld players, simply cant make it. Animals attack up on decks, through walls, while you sleep etc etc.... theyre buggy, OP as feck and need fixing. Pretty much end of story.
  15. Trolling? Sheesh ditch the sword its bunk, get a pike and a bow and arrow, maybe you are leveling up the wrong things. You act like at this point every thing you have done is absolutely perfect and there is no other way to do it. I am just saying that is probly your issue. If your level 25 then you are doing something wrong. Change your tactic. Where are you located on the map? Heres a thought- if the wolf wants in so bad let it and tame him.
  16. Dude please stop trolling and if you aren't go educate yourself on empathy. Lot's of people have these issues, you could be fine for two or three days (ingame time) straight on the same beach, but once the wolves and lions spawn they just roam across the island killing prey until they spot you and gang up on you. Then your nice place with house and resources becomes a hell with 4 wolves attacking your house or just swarm up to you, you can not defend yourself against this at lower level. And even at lvl 25 when not specializing in weaponry or armor I should be able to kill a a wolf 4-5x less levelled than my character with a pike. It was possible a couple of patches ago but now 2 wolves = sure dead.
  17. Have u even read this entire post? I guess u didnt or u wouldn't have made that comment. Even indoors these pesky wolves aggro you and if u don't have a stone wall they will slowly munch their way through it. And if it's more than 1 wolf and u are not well equipped you are a dead guy, leaving u to the point where u have to lure away the wolf from your body time over time to get to your inventory or try to find others to help kill off the pack.
  18. I'm not sure if it does, but do these wolves also just spawn in while u are standing on their spawnpoint? I mean too many times these have attacked me in pair whilst before i started eating or ended my harvesting there was no wolf in sight, only to come back out of my menu to already have a broken leg and see myself die cuz yea, no reaction time and nothing to do really against two wolves.
  19. Yeah, i am also from I9 and same issue with beiing stuck at "PrimalGameData_BP" as you guys. I dont even know if our wolf is still alive as it seemed that they eat quit alot. Was going to put a feeding box down, but apperiantly not gonna happen.
  20. Hello, I think that it was said multiple times already, but creatures in this game need some nerf or rework. Yesterday when we made our new base it was OK for a few hours and then creature armageddon started. It really looked like and of the days. We are on island that has really little fiber (I need nearly 2 hours for a full stack) and with creatures attacking like angry hornets we spend our fiber on defending. At first it was not that bad, few wolves (2-3 wolves) attacking our walls. I don`t even talk about how they attack through the walls and it seams that their priority target was our chests (after they destroyed them through wall we placed them in middle of house so they couldn`t reach it). But what began after that was really like scene from Lord of the rings when they were defending Balin`s Tomb. They began to multiply like crazy it really looked like they were "breading" by using mitosis. 3 wolves became 5. Then 5 became 8 then 12 at the end there was like 20 wolf head biting us through the walls. When we killed few it attracted vultures..... And then its started to look more like Hitchock "The Birds" wolves attacking our walls, vultures attacking our ceiling and bugging through ceiling into our house. And then scorpions they didn`t really came in same numbers like wolves and vultures, but they came to help them anyway. After 2 hours of defending our base we decided just to abbandon it and move as close to water as we could. With aggro radius as ludicrous at it is, combined with damage that creatures do to you, their spawning speed and combined with their need to help each other its more like playing some pirate themed Killing Floor with zombies swapped for animals. It really feels like you have "free time" between waves of enemy attacks. Also you cant really outrun almost animals. And their aggro duration is almost as annoying as their damage. One time I was running around island picking up fiber with army of snakes that were slithering behind me like moving carpet only to lose interest in me after I abandoned land and embraced water as my new home. Please do something about this.
  21. Hostile animal respawn timers are indeed WAY off, as is their insane aggro and damage settings. Not only has the game become utterly unplayable, more so than is was before as the dear Devs seems to refuse to acknowledge they fudged up on several issues that needs dealing with ASAP. Sure, i can understand the importance of enabling people to play in the first place, fixing the server and connection issues, but then, it's on to gameplay bugs and balancing of the stuff the game allready has, BEFOR adding more content that just adds to the bugs list. Things with animals i would really like to see happen within a very short timespan: - Less hostile animal spawns in a given area. (4-wolf packs + 2 crocs + rattlesnakes + Alphas within 50 meters is NOT playable) - Deny animals from spotting / attacking through walls and hulls !!!!! (Getting bitten to death by crocks, sailing away from an island, is NOT logical...) - Set biome spawn rules for animals!! ( wth is a wolf doing in the dessert in the first place ?) - Reduce the animal count per 50 meters. (5-6 elefants, 4-5 pigs + hostile animals in a tiny area ?!) - Reduce animal armor penetration abilities by ATLEAST half, so our armor actually counts for something!!! That's just a fraction of my thoughts about animals...

  23. You aren't playing the same game, then. I had full metal armor on, and wolves nearly kill me, and I am a level 42. The pistols work good, and it is best to have two loaded at all times, but if you miss against a high level wolf you are dead. My issue isn't with the wolf's damage, it's with the lack of protection in metal armor. Metal armor should just about negate the bites of Lions, and Wolves. I've also noticed that wolves and lions will randomly run away from me, but there is no rhyme or reason to this. I had a lvl 38 run from me, but then a level 14 came at me like a hell hound, not 5 minutes later. My other issue is that the sneak skill isn't very useful. We tested it, and there is very little difference in how animals aggro to you. Not enough difference to warrant wasting points on it. I would like my Ghillie suit, thanks. Of course we wouldn't need them if the animals didn't aggro from such long range. I have stood on a rock, looked around, saw no wolves or lions, even using the spyglass, and so I get down, start mining the rock, and as I finish, I turn to find another rock only to see a wolf charging me so fast, I barely have time to get a weapon out to shoot it. The glitchy way they move when close to can also make them hard to shoot. I will deal with that, but it's the way they aggro from such long range that bothers me. I have also learned to take the hit from them, in order to get a better shot. By this, I mean, learn to not panic and don't shoot as fast as you can. If they are too close to you, charging you for a bite, the bite will make you turn a bit, making your shot miss...so take the hit, and as you bounce back, line up the shot and shoot. Take the hit, line up shot and shoot. This is not as effective against 2 wolves, as you are often near death from just one wolf. The optimal situation is to be on top of a large rock so they can't get to you, but if you don't see them first, this is unlikely to happen. Simply put, their aggro ranges need to be reduced...a lot. This may not be realistic, but then it doesn't take a lot of arrows to the face to make an animal stop attacking. Unless it's rabid, or trapped, one arrow into it, anywhere is going to make it stop attacking.
  24. Problems with wolves: Hyper-Aggro: (This one is weird) Half the time they spot you from a mile away and come after you, ignoring anything else in the way that would be considered 'prey'. The other half they aggro and then run away...at light speed. I'm currently sitting in my house with some 212 Alpha Wolf outside just chomping nonstop at the wall...doing no damage but still annoying and really kind of a 'wtf?' moment. Damage: In full fur I normally have no issue killing a wolf or two with a metal pike. In hide it can be a different story, but it isn't impossible. The problem is wolves attack WAY too fast and with an obvious lack of regard to any kind of stamina system. Couple this with the (Fucking ark 2.0) knockback and it is just a complete pain to deal with. AI: I'm assuming some kind of code was added to attempt making all animals try to avoid being stuck when attempting to path to you. This causes some hilarity but is also making dealing with these alpha predators an absolute pain. The Alpha Wolf outside my house (this is the 3rd different one in less than an hour btw) likes to stand there chomping at the house even though he can't damage stone. As soon as I pop an arrow into it, he runs away for a moment, just to come back and start all over again. Eventually he will get stuck somewhere and not care about being shot but either way, it's just not well designed. Regen: Ok this HAS to be a bug. I get some of these wolves to like half hp, they run off and eat a cow real fast, come back at 100% hp and all of this happens in the span of 10 seconds or so. My suggestions? For now, for us, blunderbuss every wolf you see. If you cant get your hands on this delicious hand cannon, then try your best to kite them to water and yeet on them as they swim around like idiots. For the devs: Lower wolf movement by about 10% and attack speed by 20-25%. (This can actually go to lions too, but thankfully they are insanely broken and easy to kill.) Lower or remove hp regen from eating by about 90%. I don't regen all of my health in two seconds from eating an entire cow...in fact I die. Remove the affinity of these predators to attack structures. For me in stone it is just a nuisance, but for others there needs to be someway to get yourself safe from these things. I couldn't imagine how tilted I would be if I was building in wood and these things were just eating through the walls. I know we don't want the game to be 'ez-mode' but a few tweaks to these predators would make the land game a bit more enjoyable while still presenting a challenge. Just my 2gc.
