  1. a good idea would be for the smaller servers with 5 player cap their vulnerability window could be a lot smaller then the normal islands 9 hours is not enjoyable for casual gamers or normal gamers the no life no job players who go around zerging people are the only types who like such large attack timers
  2. Well hell why don't we have thunderstorms? I've never even thought about that until now. if anything is added PLEASE add this weather idea. It would be nice to sail nights and have a spectacular night sky.
  3. Old thread - info on this is still spotty at best. Have tried multiple things to get this working on dedicated, including: 1. Changing island Pirate Camp Spawn coordinates. Each island exposes a set of coordinates that appear to be (x, y, z) as you would expect. You can edit these in the ServerGridEditor, or directly in the ServerGrid json file you generate and upload for your custom map. The thinking here was the coordinates were possibly static to the single player map (which is a derivative of the 11x11 pvp map from a few seasons back.) I tested by using `setcheatplayer true` admin command to get a readout of coords in game. Carefully mapped out a few test locations on custom placed islands. No dice. I then jumped into the single player map, tracked down one of my map's islands Cay_N_EE located in C5 I believe. I used `cheat setplayerpos` to teleport to the coords defined on this island out of the box. Turns out they don't correspond to locations on the islands at all - not global, local, or grid coords. So scratch that idea. 2. Parameter manipulation. I did discover (may have been mentioned here or somewhere else I've come across) that the `bUseWildPirateCamps` will retain its setting if placed under Game.ini [/Script/ShooterGame.ShooterGameMode] , (where it appears to be enabled for single player. It does revert as others say, if modified under GameUserSettings.ini [/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/TestGameMode.TestGameMode_C] . This made no difference. I went a few steps further - deleted the redundant parameter under GameUserSettings (it did save the deletion), and also tried turning on the setting to "Use Single Player Settings" also under Game.ini - in case it was related. Still nothing. Finally, I tried placing the `bUseWildPirateCamps` and single player setting as overrides directly on biome templates I'm using in ServerGridEditor. Still nada. 3. Hosting dedicated SP map I grabbed the single player json and map images from the actual Atlas game files, instead of ServerGridEditor and uploaded that map to my 3x3 capable hosting setup. I centered around B8 freeport as to avoid a known bug when running a dedicated version of this map. My hope with doing this, was to eliminate the unknown of "Is this game config related, map config related, or is it baked directly into the islands and requiring diving into the Atlas Devkit?" To this last part ^ if I follow this logic, we can probably say it's not Devkit configuration, and it's probably not Map (ServerGrid) configuration. But of course, still not sure. My best guess at the moment, is there is some non-semantically named .ini setting besides the actual `bUseWildPirateCamps` param. My next step is to copy over single player .ini files to my host. That's for another day. 4. Lastly, I tried installing and using the "WildNPCs - Pirates" mod in the workshop. The mod author never finished it, and appears to have been too busy to come back, or has possibly abandoned it. I let it sit for 24 hours. Nothing. The one and only thing that has worked, is using the manual spawn command from the mod. It's best to do this after setting yourself invincible, and for enemies to ignore you (basically you're invisible). Then you can start a wild camp and spawn in pirate ship that will patrol the island coastline, as long as you are placing it somewhere close to deep water shore (so the boat doesn't get stuck). And this ^ is of course a terrible solution - because no one wants to fly around and manually spawn in a bunch of camps on 45 islands. If I can find an interface for the Admin console outside the game, I'd script this and script calculating the coordinates in a .bat file or something. And then I realized, I'm not getting paid! Devs, can you please finish this feature? It seems like all the underlying structure is already in place - perhaps you didn't learn much about it from a former dev when teams transitioned? I doubt it would take you a fraction of the time that I've spent fiddling with this by now. Cheers
  4. yup. i did that myself on mine right before the update. sails total is 6 on the pegasus so you can swap your sails out for 2 large (2.7 per large). to be honest i have no idea if there are any negatives to bigger sails or not.

With us very soon reaching the sub 1k player count and possibly another all time low, I noticed that atlas world now has dark side and radioactive as servers now. good idea for more than one reason. Before if someone looked at the steam charts for atlas they would see 1200 players and think that was a good number. First of all that is a very pathetic number to begin with. Next when you look at atlas world you can see the difference between official and unofficial servers. darkside has more than official pvp, official pve, and radioactive combined. don’t get me wrong I am not praising darkside because 600 isn’t good either but having said that only 100+ on pvp and 200+ on pve is just abysmally embarrassing lol. might take another month to reach the all time but I need to remind everyone that player numbers only go up after a wipe. That is the only time for the whole 3 plus years of this games development. Never any content or update has grown the player count. Only wipes. having said that, the new devs supposedly said they wouldn’t wipe. If they don’t player counts will never rise and only get smaller. If they do wipe that means they were liars and should not be trusted or respected. also, if they do wipe remember I told you they will change the map as an excuse for the wipe even though nobody asked or has ever asked this whole time for a map change.

Well the fact that over 60% of the people are on unofficial which it shows in the remaining 750 or so on steam charts after the 500 on official already tells you something. plenty of suggestions. Offline raid protection. And not like the kind you are thinking that can be exploited by just not ever getting on. Specific raid times like Conan exiles would be sufficient. All 24 hours is pvp including players and ships at all times. Base raiding has a time window. Some might not like but but that really doesn’t matter. This is about getting more players in an not the appeasement of the tiny current player count. no more modular ships. That was by far the worst idea they ever had. It got rid of one of the fun aspects of the game and important as well. If they even build one more stupid modular ship we will find out exactly how stupid and worthless they are as devs. stop changing the map. Nobody asked for that and we all know that is just an excuse to have to wipe the game. They aren’t fooling anyone with their bullshit excuse. They can even lie correctly. of course fix bugs(even they even have the skill to do so). They need to at the very least spend 1 full month not adding ANYTHING and just simple spend every waking moment fixing bugs. Nothing else other than that. They won’t do this because they are stupid and can’t realize them adding something in just to break something else is a very bad idea. turn rates up like unofficial servers do. That is a big reason why people play unofficial. Once again we aren’t really caring about the 200-250 that still play official pvp. They really aren’t important at all. In fact it is safe to say they are also responsible for the game failing as well so they are of no importance. once time has been spent fixing bugs to a very responsible amount, content will be good to add in. Content needs to be pve and story focused. Why? Because pvp and pve will both benefit from it that is why. Finally give a story behind the game. Hell even ark was a sandbox as well but evolved into a very good story. pvp is already pvp. That part is done and has been done for awhile now. No pvp additions need to be made anymore. finally, fix every single bug there is and I mean every one. At this stage it should only be fine tuning of small bugs and then do an official release of the game with an announcement stating the measures took and the bugs being fixed. even if you are correct and there is only one person, as long as he dedicates his time to bugs and makes the correct decisions I outlined like no more modular ships/map changes/raid windows, he will be able to improve the game. the key is not making bad decisions. If they change the map they screwed up. If they add more modular ships they screwed up. They get no excuses for early access anymore. They are making bad decisions and that is why they are failing. Not because it’s alpha and not because is hard, they are making stupid decisions so they will get no respect or excuses until they make the right decisions.
  7. Currently my company is stuck in D4 in an infinite loading loop, on PVE no idea where i report this too! We lost our boat trying to sail thru D4 and since that time we cant log into D4, tried creating a new toon on PVP then logging back into PVE nothing just infinite load loops/

  9. Ok Im so pissed off here! Like WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK so WOW im so upset here i cant even TYPE! ok You guys reset the game my Market is not working the Bank Towers gold is bust for a week now. All beds was messed up and i couldnt TP to my island i lost Animals and now i come online and My toon is reset to lvl 1 no skills now. I had stones and quest done lvl 100 went to Fountain of Youth i have 2700+ hours in Atlas i left about a year ago to now come back to this game. to try out the new Devs and new things this game has to offer. So i spent 2 days getting my toon back up in lvl so i can build my ship yard Cant even get gold right now on PVE. I had to work real hard to get all the gold here with nothing working. I Finally get everything needed to craft the Mythical ship yard and place it its blue and allows me to place it and its in a Deep Spot Works then WTF It tells me i cant make a ship and this ship yard is junk now!!!!!! WTF GUYS! Come on you kidding me guys Really! WTF!! all this ♥♥♥♥ was a waste of time FIX YOUR DAMN GAME!!!!!!!! I am so pissed you have no idea! #%$^ this game i dont thing im EVER COMING BACK! FIX YOUR F*@#ING GAME!!!! 30K for the Ship yard 43K to build the Ship yard 6 Different resources and a ton of time lost a toon that was lvl 63 and now this!! I couldnt play a week ago Beds busted, Bank Towers not working on PVE, WHY HAVE A SHIP YARD COST REALLY!!!!! TAKE THAT DUM SHIT OFF!! Make it 0 GOLD! So Dumm!! God im pissed F this game you guys wasted 2700+ Hours of my life!

  11. I am not going to argue that George. You might be right time will tell. It is not the original development team as you have acknowledged in some of your previous posts. Coming from a programming background I can assure you that working out bugs in code written by someone else is no treat... In my opinion they would be better off taking this awesome game idea and starting with a clean slate. But my opinions were never popular.

Hey guys, first, sry for my english i have two questions.. 1.) with wich command i can deactivate on the freeport the bis decay? i dont will there a decay... i will create there a market for everyone and ill create there an port, but everything demolished after a few hrs.. any idea? 2.) i created a map, but i cant i play on the starter grid with only one isle (freeport isle) because i have more as one isle, i cant start everywhere, but i will start only on the freeport.. i cant find anything and every guide didnt running with the freeport start only sry for my bad english, i hope u can understand me.. question 1 ist really important for our rp server please help me thanks mates o/ IN GERMAN: hey leute, Ich brauche Eure Hilfe! Hätte da zwei Fragen 1.) Ich habe einen RP Server und würde gerne am Freeport bauen und als Marine dort leben und den Leuten einen Platz / Markt anbieten. Das Problem, wenn Leute dort mit Ihren Schiffen nächtigen (oder auch meine Bauten) haben einen erhöhten Decay und es zerfällt alles über Nacht.. Kann Ich das deaktivieren mit einem Befehl? Deaktivieren des PvP sowie PvE Decays hat nicht geholfen 2.) Habe einen Guide gefunden, wie Ich meine eigene Map erstelle. Es klappt auch tatsächlich alles, nur eines nicht. Wenn Ich auf A1 (2x2) einen Freeport verbaue und auch andere Inseln (keine Freeport Inseln) habe Ich dennoch diese Inseln zum spawnen für neue Spieler zum auswählen.. Das würde Ich aber gerne nicht so haben.. Würde gerne als Auswahl NUR die Freeport Inseln haben wollen in diesem Grid. Derzeit habe Ich dieses Problem gelöst, indem Ich in diesem Grid nur EINE Insel habe, die Freeport Insel Das etwas Verschwendung Hat da jemand einen Tipp für mich? Habe einige Guides durch, jedoch geht keiner darauf so ein, das dies funzen würde Wäre Euch sehr dankbar für Eure Hilfe! LG
  13. I am still out of company no idea what happened one person logged in he was still in the company and as soon as he bedded to main island he was out of company. The company CEO finally got logged in. He was in company and he checked the logs everyone showed as still in company. Then he lagged for a few secs and he was out of the company
  14. I tried these steps. Which is an absurd troubleshooting idea btw. It didn't help Just like 16 days ago, the problem is on the companies end. Not the players.
  15. Im playing on xbox and I was wondering what the way to find treasure map quadrants are. I have no idea where my island is and when I go to another area it seems to be pseudo random. I'll go from like A1 to B9 and I don't know where I am in relation to the map.
  16. An Interesting news with a lot of tiny bug fixes that got addressed. Also it has to be mentioned that this is a very fast patch release after the last December update considering the christmas and new year holidays. Stun changes should be a god thing, Silo change is very welcome. Some other stuff like double tax banks on sea forts shall be adressed. Well we will see if bed teleport in crouched position is now possible. Difficult to try it as you are so common now with avoiding this bug and never crouch near a bed^^ The grill is quite a shame that you need to skill so much cooking to unlock it. I am now Level 76 on PVE and I don't want to spend any points on this. I wonder if the grill will have instant water refill now when connected to a water pipe? I remember in the past this was possible and great to make colors... and i hate when it got changed to refill in like 20 minutes to make 3 more colors again... Wonder final release: Decoyy made a video building the wonder in single Player to test it. Results from the official server will not be available for some weeks because of the time restriction. Also it has to be questioned if Players will try to build the wonder for just 20 fortitude? I mean there is no ingame statistics or rankings for Top Players or Companys. Who has the most Players, who sunk the most enemy ships or killed most enemy Players, who's wealth is the biggest, who build the wonder and who owns it. Simple things to compare and even see who is all around the Atlas besides the Player interaction if they meet others while playing. 20 fortitude is useless with the current skill that nobody skills because HP>Stamina>Weight are more important. The meta is to ignore vitamines and simply die and respawn. 20 Fortitude also do not have any influence on stun durations(torpor) or resistance versus poison. You have to transport the resources for building to the wonder island which is good, but not a worth PvP loot probably. I wonder if any PvP Player will be out there with a combat fleet to stop other companys resource delivery... or if those who try building will protect their transport ship with a fleet. I am settling in Africa one grid next to the wonder island but i don't have the required resources and will not farm it myself just to test the building.... also why stage 5 only requires "2" mythos? Just for the giggles? market + trading + gathering The patch release stopped 60% of my gathering buildings. This is annoying because they all had the bugged fuel comsumption that occurs after server restarts... now i have to refill fuel until it gets bugged again. (oh i should get banned for using an bug that automatically occurs?) The bigger issue is the market and trading does not work anymore on the PVE Server at least. I have 1000+ open trades now to all my trade partners that will not be delivered. Every minute there will be added one additional trade. To solve this i probably have to delete the market and hope to find new trade partners again who did the same with their market. Soon we will not be able to enter the server because of upcomming "reliable buffer overflow" issue again. Also the market interface needs an update. Add an option to sort listed markets according their grid or distance or their status accepted/canceled/rejected. Or add a function to move a market to the top of the list to have better overview about your accepted trades. Also make a possibility to reactivate canceled or rejected routes or to delete them from the list to add other markets if you passed the 100 requests. Markets also do not show you that you can only accept 5 trade routes max if not other players accept your request - than you can have more. the tramp freighter new beginner ship. I like the idea of a early available freighter besides all modular ships are simply the same model with more or less modules in the center. It has standard ~220/4000 weight with the large and medium sail include. So this ship is one module longer than the Cog that has only 1 small sail but the Cog can carry 9000 weight but no cargos. The freighter has 4 cargos. Each can carry 8000 weight reducing it by factor 5 to 1600 weight. So in best case you can use 1 or 2 cargos to possibly reduce your speed to ~0? I will test the speed this evening just for the fun. I don't remeber correctly but each attached cargo usually reduces the speed by 10-20% + additional the weight put inside. I wonder if the ship will drive 20 knots backwards if i load all cargos to max... or if it will sink immediatly. Pretty exited about this test. I wonder if the Devs realize that you can actualy build this ship with the same amount of wood for 5x repair kits... you know this kits you need to repair a damaged module for 5 seconds restoring 1500 HP.... You can only find the discussion of this patch if you hit "home" to see the latest patches... also I can't react to other post in this "not existing topic"?
  17. Love this game concept. Played it non stop PvP for 2 months it has a lot to offer and explore. Modular ship blueprints are great for noobs like me. Makes it easy to have a decent ship preloaded with cannons. Great idea for solo and small companies to compete. But... all you see is Cogs everywhere. And the occasional sloop. Suggestions to make game more fun : 1. Every company should get one free small armored dock to keep a ship safe. It's easy enough to lose a ship to SOD or another pvp player at sea. I think you retain player base better if gamers can log in and game... instead of just grinding to build a new ship everyday that gets sunk while you sleep. 2. Every company should get one permanent claim tower. A permanent claim to call home. I think you retain player base better and keep new players from quitting because someone else simply places a claim tower and claims everything while you sleep. That's all. Games should be fun for everyone that buys it. Not directed towards a large company meta because face it, people are not that great and big companies are ignorant to and do not accept "settlements" on "their island" (yep... the entire island). I would love to see more of your beautiful modular ship designs sailing around but unfortunately its just not feasible for most of your player base to keep a ship like that safe while they sleep. - RedLeg - P.S. putting the create new pathfinder button right beside the bed spawn button is a really bad place. Thats why i am quitting this game until next wipe.
  18. Unfortunately they didn't bother to balance stats (I hope it's YET). All modular ships are basically Schooners, with 9000 base weight and +200 per lvl. Because of that, for example, Boardsider (with 40 cannons, alot of cannonballs, alot of crew), will be at least 60% loaded or around 80%-90% with gunports opened. But with advanced blueprints, Boardsider can carry 4 large sails (the sail on very back will block your way to very stern, so you'll have to jump to get there), and large weight sail "must have" here. I guess it's the same with battle Carrack (12 cannons each side) and Harrier (12 cannons each side). As for speed... well, last season I had mythic Rammer! With 2 speed and 1 weight sail it run 28 knots downwind. Same sail setup with Harrier gives just 20 knots... with similar size width and weight. It's weird. 2 speed, 1 handling and 1 weight sails on Boardsider (same width and weight, but longer) gives same 28 knots... so I guess they just put same numbers to all ships as temporary measures, and didn't have time to balance them well. Basic COG with one small speedsail runs 15 knots which is really good for beginner's ship. But I've got legendary COG BP with 4 sails point (so 2 mid sails will go there). I plan to build and give it away to someone. Just wondering how fast will that bird go lol. Also handling. Last season Carrack was insane. It was so fast it handled so well so players could face all damned fleet and LITERRALY DODGE cannonballs. This season DEVs nerfed that for unplayable state. @Kummba told that he just left his Carrack to the ocean, because couldn't get it back to his base. Sailing Boardsider is torture. You can run full speed, press and hold A or D, (or left/right on controller) and sail around island. It has THAT turning radius: I just gave away this ship to random player, because I couldn't stand this handling. I was happy with sailing speed, but every island I was about to visit ate all time I saved sailing fast. Also I don't know about PVP, maybe the Linen Tactic works there well. But in PVE - it takes forever to destroy damned ship, because you run by, shoot and then run away for a minute and turn for 3-4 minutes. If you'll be lucky enough you'll be able to stop board to board to damned ship, and "tank" it... but, it's not a good idea against lvl-30+ damned Galley. I now run Harrier (it's like Carrack with front end from Mortar Ship). It handles better, but still - not enough for "dancing" with damned ships. Old fashion Brigantine was and remains the best for damned fleet board fighting. One more thing. Boardsider is neutral to all enemies. That means if you not shoot damned ships you can even ram them. They don't even point their guns at you. So I guess it's really cool alternative to transport Galleon - run fast and safe lol.
  19. It's quite the same for me. I like the idea of survival game play with a harsh environment(snakes, tigers, lions - golden age etc.). I also like to stay alife in this game keeping the vitamins up. But for hardcore PvP this mechanics do not matter of course. The first maybe 1000 hours of this game is pure exploring of new stuff... many did not kill the kraken or Yeti Boss in their first 1000 hours. Thats insane and shows the variety of the game. Of course this feeling stops when you build your third harbor and base, your 10th mystic ship and so on. The SotD farming is quite interesting for a long time as well(ifthey had better loot table andrebalance the BPs)... or your first whale kills with a special build ship for this task. But after those exploring 1000 hours you may face the bugs, search the exploits and stress every feature of the game to it's limits. And that's the point where I always stopped on PvP Servers... when it makes you sick in real life to keep it going 24/7... in the night, when you are at work... What brings me back now is only the hope that new Devs may start fixing the game, fixing the new features like market, farmhouses, trading, modular ships... I just want to see if they further ignore community feedback or if they will make the game better. If they will change the Islands with reduced mountain heights or a natural harbor bay for every islands... or just make new "maps" with the same old islands. If they can improve the lawless claim system, add some lawless offline protection. I really don't want to get back to this game for the toxic griefers that where all around. I mean you even have ingame VoiP and chat but there is no roll play... no way somebody accepts your surrender or just want to play a fair fight. Red = Dead is something that is very bad for the Player amount. Kids that troll around because they can't stand a loss. The game should bring you out on the sea... but it's most time Land combat about griefing and trolling others.
  20. A Christmas inspired post... Despite the bugs, what do you like about the game that keeps you coming back to play? For me, I love sandboxing/ building bases and boats. The creativity of it all. The sense of adventure of taking your newly built boat for a cruise and exploring new islands. On the whole, the world is quite beautiful and immersive. I think they've done a good job on the islands. Some of them are very interesting and make you want to explore them. The musical buffing is a really neat idea how you have to play music in real-time. As a musician I appreciate this. The skill trees can be quite interesting to try. Being able to custom build your ships makes it much more fun than pre-made ships compared to Sea of Thieves. The mechanics of ship piloting is fun, and I like that you can hire crew to help you pilot them if you prefer to solo. I just wish I could keep them from starving when I log off lol. Building mechanics has been significantly improved from ark, especially with the snap feature (Q). The sea is quite well done with the white caps/ swells etc. There's something soothing about sailing in this game. How about the rest of you?
  21. Long time ago i was defending this game as well, but years passed and I lost my patience. Developer proved that they have no idea what they doing or what they want. Is it pirate game or farmville ? For me this game is just for sailing and building also taming, i dont care about PVP kraken or all that voodoo BS just spending time with my tames and friends. But now im thinking everyday why i waste my time another wipe will coming soon and all is gone again. Truth is i like this game cause ships and sailing and that is the only point what holds me here. Yes im so mad cause so many idiotic bugs from start but still my love is sailing.

  23. Very good idea man. It really is. for them to do that would take A LOT of time away from what they really need to do as we discussed which is fix bugs. after the game is finely tuned? Hell yeah, let’s get this going. I see this as at least a year out though with what they need to do first.
  24. Yes, I fully agree they should get things running first before they try it. For some reason even if this new dev company is trying to make things right they are still failing because the main thing that needs to be fixed is all of the bugs. I assure you I was the first one to make the factions idea from almost day one. Everyone thought I was crazy because they thought atlas would be good. I know these old devs and I knew it would not be good from the start. we will see if they are just as inept as the others.

Here's an idea I was thinking about: Another way to launch a player would be to have a cinematic with them setting sale as a crew member on an NPC boat but get caught in a storm (or sucked into a portal). During this storm they could have an instanced tutorial on how to do things in the game (control/ repair, place items on the boat). They end up getting shipwrecked on a semi-deserted island. Here they have to build a boat/ raft and try to find their way forwards, continuing the tutorial until they set-sail. Of course the cinematic could by bypassed if you've done it before. Upon building your boat you can sail to a freeport nearby where you can buy some crew (like the current start zone), and join a faction: Merchant Guild The King's Navy Unlawful Pirates Benefits: the game could position the player on a deserted island in the least populated area of the map thereby spreading out players and better distributing land claims having such a dramatic cinematic could be more interesting for new players and maintain their attention (anyone see the first episode of Lost?) gives players a raison d'etre - some sort of back story that gives them a reason and motivation to continue If anyone would like to contribute ideas feel free. I'm not sure if the devs actually read these posts, but it's fun to spit-ball ideas for rhetorical reasons.
