  1. I was thinking of creating my battle Brig in dangerous scary threatening way. But then, after all went completely wrong with my mythic shipyard I came to this. Just couldn't help it. You do love SVTFOE, don't you??? : ))
  2. I don't think any person can be more wrong athan you. The devs pretty much nailed it. The only question is will they ever do what they promise. And with peace phases this is all pretty much pointless
  3. Confirm F11. I cut through F11 often (oil on the bottom island) and always get chased by them when in the wrong boat not fitted for whale. Strangely never see them when I go in my whale boat. As George says, get within about 200 yards of one and you see the health bar light up. Then it starts chasing you. Kite and don't let it get too close or you might get sent to the bottom. And don't get too focused on the whale and sail into a SOD fleet.
  4. Certainly agree with that. When this first happened I almost posted in defense of the devs, after all, a piece of software of this size is an incredibly complicated beast. But! Its been nearly a week now since I made a bug report, and since many other people alerted to the problem, and yet I haven't seen any acknowledgement from the devs whatsoever! That is indeed very poor. I dont know enough about the game to be sure, but it looks to me like the servergrid is missing. As far as I know the servergrid is responsible for inserting the islands etc? Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Using the servergrid editor I can create a servergrid.json file, but I dont know where it should be placed, does anyone know the answer? I'm talking about the single player/non-dedicated server version.
  5. I feel I have the obligation to not just inform you but also educate you about this company. There are some white knights here that will say it is a completely different company than wildcard but they are very wrong for two reasons. reason 1: in the very beginning, grapeshot was comprised of mostly wildcard employees, regardless of things changing later(who cares about that). Reason 2: atlas was in fact a dlc called water world that ended up being a money grab as a stand alone called atlas. Plenty of people deny this but they deny it with no evidence, where throughout the past two years there has been plenty to support the claim rather than to deny it. bottom line is you really shouldn’t waste your breath. I am not by any means saying your words do not matter because they do but..... they will fall on deaf ears so unfortunately and technically your words kind of do not matter at the same time. I get it you like the game right? You want to feel like a “loyal” customer right? If so, I feel really bad for those people because you are not seeing the forest through the trees. It is really sad to be honest. I mean we have the entitled people that think their opinion matters and whatever they want to happen should happen( I don’t feel bad for those peopl), but the problem is the people with actual common sense that say “hey, that doesn’t really make that much sense” and they still get ignored. Those are the true casualties. this is literally the worst dev company in the world and I am even including EA I’m that lol

For me - the new SGE wont 'stick' the img format change to PNG, and I get an error and incomplete export of cell images when I export all or export cellimg's - I'm testing on a 3x3 map and getting random cell's (eg. 1-0,2-0,2-1,2-2 only .. along with tradewind images for the same cells) then SGE crashes with an unhandled exception .. Only 1 instance of SGE is running.   7. Can someone help me here? I can't contact support and I've been playing Atlas since it came out. What's wrong with the single player mode? I had to delete a map again because I can't manage to repair the savegame. This time the error occurs immediately after today's patch. And I can't generate a new world I end up in the ocean without islands without a proper map after creating the character.
  8. So it's so purposely vague on how the island points get used up when placing claim towers. I have demoed and replaced so many I can't keep track of how it scales up. First 4 are 4 points, next 4 are 5 points, next 4 are 6 points and so on? If that's what it is something is wrong because my points don't add up. I've tried to find a definitive answer to the points scale with no luck. The patch notes say the first is 4 points and scales up to AROUND 8. What does that even mean?! Does someone know exactly how it scales?
  9. First of all it would be nice if you could tell which PvP server you play, because on NA there are 2-3 times more Players actually. For EU Server I play i would say the situation is like this: First weekend after wipe nearly all expirienced large companys did Powerstones in GA for 80-90% of their members. Some finished Kraken and Yeti as well. I had no time first weekend so i did Powerstones second weekend with the rest of the company that needed them. Playing in a company with ~50 Players you may consider already as a Mega on EU. So besides new Members that join later we are through with Power Stones. I myself helped 2 little companys to find the caves and leach some stones while i killed the hydra. After finishing i had left over 19 Stones that I shared for free to some strangers(new players in Atlas). So far my company has no allies and every red is dead... but this does not include sinking unarmed sloops every time. Well of course you can face some trolls that just ram you for fun etc. but i would not blame them. It's the Devs fault that Shooners have gold costs... so even large Company Players use sloops. While you can be sure everybody has a spy glass and knows your compnay and most often your level in 5 seconds they just sink sloops because you can't be sure there is a "noob" on it. So based on this you are maybe unlucky. Yes i faced a full geared Player in a Key Cave waiting for nakeds bringing him the keys but you know what? He killed nobody and he got no key and we just lought about him spending his time waiting there for hours with no success. Doing the essences i faced some players with submarine sinking all ships(one way sloops/rafts) above the spot. Well they are also wasting their time. Most issue is actually that Golden Age islands are used to level up so they are crowded by large companys while the water is full of BP hunters. WIth the current state of catapult barrels every mistake there is deadly. Also Players are hunting the Ghost ship there as well. The BPs are badly nerfed in regards of the crafting amount which means there is more BP hunters out there. Players with submarines are stealing your chests when you sink SoTD... or like you say they sink you in your sloop with their shooner/Brig/Galleon. BPs are currently the most valuable items in the game. Even gold is more difficult to earn the large companys need every shipyard, gun port, plank, sail and cannon they can get hands on. My advise: Go to the cold regions and hunt there SoTD with level ~40. Yes, GA is dangerous but you can be successful as well. You have to find the time when there is low player amount on the server. This is what the Devs want in this game: More PvP conflict as Players go into dangerous "high" loot regions. As long the Yeti and Kraken do not give any XP to level up the large companys will go to GA and the first 5-6 weeks can be hell for small and solo players. If you show no aggression you may get lucky and survive the contact with a large ship. But you are wrong with this. The MMORPG part is very important to attract Players and keep them in the game to level up. But maybe 300 HP and stamina is to OP and should be reduced. But for Kraken V2 200 HP is maybe to low if you have bad luck with the thunder tentacles(balancing). Taming and Breeding is the main aspect in PVE and also lots of PvP Players do breeding only. Without tame leveling you would loose lots of the community as well. But tames should take more damage from shots, melee weapons, puckles and cannons(less armor effect). Ships costs are maybe not that worse but it should be removed or lowered much for Shooners. Shooner is the standard ship.(not a 3-6 knots sloop/ rammshakle to get started at freeport) Companys with more Players do get more stuff because they just Play more than a solo. This is just right considering the effort. Learn to play MMO and find some Players to join and have fun with them together. Consider no leveling... mega companys would just PvP all the day while they are now busy doing PVE to get started themselves.
  10. This is just insane. I dunno, maybe DEVs think it's really cool, to play hide and seek with damaged planks. Will we be lucky to find which one caused our ship sinking? Also sinking speed is insane - with my BRIG (and certain skills like all in captaining and 140 sturdiness) I sometimes feels like: "Oh, I have 2 leaks, I better take down this damned ship first, and after that - I'll go for maintenance". Here it felt like the more I repair - the faster it fills with waters. (To be honest it actually felt something working (designed/coded) terribly wrong and it shouldn't work like this).
  11. Other Threads: Majestic Kraken. Mortar Ship. I just wanna double all I've gathered about this Ramming Galley ship. I really wanna make sure DEVs reads this. But before I go - I just wanna say to every players, who read this message. DO NOT BUY RAMMING GALLEY. Until they fix all issues and add all required features. Right now it just very RAW and BROKEN. So... But if you consider to buy it, I would say this ship has: +++ + Nose large cannons, pointing forward. + Oars and Rowing. Allow you to get +4 knots every 30 sec. (Except tradewinds). + Good handling full speed. You can avoid damned ships even in tradewind. - - - - 75 rhino horns. Wasting hours doing rhinocide. - (fixed with new shipyard) Sailing to the shop with 80% loaded sloop (for solo players). - Lack of customization (I couldn't find a spot for wardrums so they wouldn't block the way). - Bad low speed handling. - Difficult to maintain. Repairs with patches takes forever. Not repairable in battle. You should manually search for leaking parts. - Extremely expensive in maintenance. You need to gather more thatches/wood/fiber than it required to build a Brig, every time you wanna go hunting. - Sinking VERY FAST. Even with points in sturdiness and all in captaining. - No ramming damage to Damned Ships. - Raw design and broken features. * * * (raw design) * No snap points for ladder on the board side. Emergency stern ladder is your only option to come aboard. * Some unpaintable parts. Disappearing custom paint. * No leaking icons. * New HP icon shows random numbers. * Scales and visual model are not matching each other. * You can not put patch kit in resource box and use it from there. * Crew repairing damaged parts using resources in box while anchored. But you newer know how many you need. * Front zone has only 15K hp, while Brig's same zone has 4x6k planks 40k deck and 10x5k ceilings. / / / (broken features) / Crew dismount sails every time you cross the grid. / Junk sails are totally broken and doesn't work and looks well here. Design and customisation. It's now paintable, and it made very well, except couple of unpaintable parts in front castle, 3rd region. But after I sailed for some time my both main and low decks and also some railings lost their paint. When I hit those parts with brush - it showed It painted. Junk sails cosmetic doesn't work well here. If you put large junk sail on the deck, it'll add invisible mast down to your hold: Some cables have wrong spots attachment to the ship. Crew manning those junk sails in weird spots: Also addition snap points to rope ladders would be gr8. No one likes this emergency stern ladder: I also kept hitting my pier from pretty far from it. So physical model of this ship is wider than visual one. Broken control issues. (This one FIXED) Right now control is totally broken. Crew don't follow you on ship deck. In Ramming Galley they wanna reach steering wheel on stern. When they manning sails station, they keep randomly dismount. After they do - you still able to control sails from steering wheel. But ship freezes in the state it was before glitch appeared. So no matter how you rise and low your sails, no matter how you rotate your sail, no mater what navigation menu shows - ship will think sails on the same position they were right before glitch. Meaning it continue to move with totally lowed sails. If you press "S" it stops, but when you dismount steering wheel, it start to move again. The only thing you can do is to whistle you crew to follow you, then manually rise and low both sails. Then you regain control. Battle issues. While I was fighting damned ships, half of my cannons suddenly stopped aiming and shooting. They just pointed down to the waters and didn't react to my controls. Crew were manning cannons this time. UPD: This happening when your cannon modules and front castle hit 0hp. Damage and repairs. In ships survey I wrote hell a lot about ship maintenance. And yet DEVs didn't do ANYTHING from here. I received some damage. Small icon in down right showed my ship's health around 50%. Then my ramming galley started to sink. I picked patches and went for maintenance. I upped ALL damaged parts I found to above 50% of health. But my ship continued to sink. Health icon showed my ship HP is above 78%... and it just sunk at this moment. GGWP. I couldn't find out what caused it. Before it sunk, I was running fast and did repairs to ALL PARTS I found damaged. But sinking speed was increasing every second. Even tho I have all in captaining and 140% of sturdiness it sunk 10 times faster than my BRIG usually does. So DEVs. You told in last QnA that... Before you go any further - you need to fix your broken bullsh...t first (sorry but I really upset right now, because I put so many efforts in this ship, 24K gold, 75 horns, all customization, and after that all I've got just suffering from broken controls, broken crews, raw ship design, and then I just lost my ship for unknow reason). It's just NO POINT TO INTRODUCE NEW FEATURES TO BROKEN UNPLAYABLE SHIPS. Before you go to all your modular updating, you need fix Ramming Galley. To do so you need at least: - Fix ship dimensions so it match visual model. - Fix paint so it wont randomly disappear. - Fix crew not following you (fixed), and randomly dismount their stations. - Fix crew position on junk sails, and junk sails cables graphic. - Fix invisible mast inside ship hold. - Fix sails control issues I wrote above. - Fix cannon crew not aiming and shooting (solved). There also need some improvement do be done: - Add snap points for rope ladders on board-sides. - Add "mount closest crew here" button to all stations on the ship (you should have done this one long ago). - Add "leaking" icons to damaged parts like there are now in old fashion ships. - Allow us to put patch-kit in to resource box, and use it from there. (UPD) You should greatly reduce cost of patches. Because now every time you wanna go to do some seas battles it requires same amount of wood/thatches/fiber as if you would build new BRIG. I repeat. EVERY TIME. Same as for BRIG. I'm not saying I can't afford this, but this ship is just not that good to bother THAT much. Only after all those fixes this ship will be something like playable (still need to be tested especially through leveling and high end content). Until then - it just BROKEN and I urge everyone to give up new ships until they fixed. p.s. - I so upset so I would demand my 22000 gold and 75 rhino horns back. But... I doubt we have this kind of player support in this game... unfortunately. p.p.s. - Really. just imagine my fight with damned ships. I do circles, speed up and slow down with totally lowed sails, can not stop my ship, half of my cannons aiming to the waters and don't shoot...
  12. 20 - Ramming Galley design issues. Painting works well, but front castle has 2 unpaintable parts of region-3. But cosmetic junk sails works pretty bad!!! Some cables connections are wrong placed: Also crew, controlling junk sails has their stations in weird places: With current crew following issue, they don't try to reach ship center, but try to reach steering wheel on stern. Also it kinda feels FPS drops around Ramming Galley.

  14. I have a friend who still plays and enjoys it but I haven't got back into it still uninstalled. Sad to see it going in the wrong direction, it is still based on big groups and pushes the smaller companies out or solo. As I understand the more people you have the more claim towers you can put down? How is that good for solo? My friend was originally in a company with a few players, had 6 towers down but could not put any automation structures down at all, it is stupid. Why limit the automated structures like warehouse and mines etc? Someone slaps 1 down you are stuffed. If you are going down that route give everyone the option to place at least 1 of each down and let it feed from the other structures that other people have to share if that needs to be the case. Nope I won't be back anytime soon, I will never say never as they may change again in another year with a wipe but for now I'm out. Not sure what the numbers are now but I won't be surprised to hear it has reduced again already.

  17. Previous thread was there. 01 - Screwed map. PVE server. H9 has 2 islands but only 1 discovery. I visited another island and eastern island has NO NAME (usually showed in top right corner). 02 - Where is Lawless? If you log in under admin account and check how things are goin on official PVE, you'll notice, there is NOT A SINGLE CLAIM TOWER placed all over the map. You know why? Because there is just NO LAWLESS GRID at all. We have some usual grids with island to claim. And more usual grids with island forbidden to claim. So... you should make some statement about that. If you did that to make players level and create towers before allowing everyone to claim spots... Or if you mess this one out and gonna fix this, by turning grids to lawless by fixes... ...THEN YOU SHOUD ANOUNCE TIME OF TURNING GRIDS TO LAWLESS!!!!!! So every1 who woke up at 5am in Europe today to settle the spot wont lose everything to offline raiding. If you planed to get rid of lawless (which now is no difference from past time when those grids were called lawless), you also should make a statement about that! 03 - Farmhouse doesn't gather ANY RESOURCES anymore. I put my farm to lovely spot surrounded by rocks with metal and trees. And all I've got is just FIBER AND BERRIES. If you did this on purpose, then you made windmill useless crap in the game. Because it just hell expensive to build and gather only one resource for trading. 04 - Extended HUD shows wrong for some stones. It sows that EVERY stones has Stone, Flint, Metal and Geode. While some brings just Stone and Flint.
  18. Banking on this game is bad business. Do they really need to come out and say how incompetent they are for everyone to realize it. Look at their track record. Taking off of work is flat out dumb. The decision to take off work is on whoever made that decision, not the devs. If you didn't see this coming you're blind. My bet is on 4 hours from now, if they don't find any major problems. But, I'm most likely wrong. Likely scenario is they'll post the time of new update in 4 hours.
  19. So correct me if I'm wrong you can put a platform on a crab and mount cannons and crew on the platform. So basically you could swim underwater, basically invulnerable, and pop up anywhere you want, fire the cannons and duck back under that water. You could theoretically approach any blind spot that way and be completely invulnerable to surface attacks.
  20. What source? Steam charts? Yeah the info is all there. Numbers have been slowly but consistently lowering. Last wipe the initial was 2100 and only got up to 2900 so even if(which it won’t) just as many people came back it would be within the range I said. It’s a very well educated guess and anyone that disagrees is simply wrong unless they have more evidence that numbers would go above it. people didn’t just leave because the wipe was coming. They were leaving for 3 months before hand. I definitely disagree every season is more engaging, unless of course you mean more land based gameplay then sure. these guys really haven’t been doing a good job at all. Hooray for ark imported platform saddles. That is going to make raiding a lot easier especially for the bigger groups.
  21. I can't believe you playing official PvP in a company. To be competitive you need high Level and therefore you need increased max level = discoveries. If you never kill Hydra or Dragon and don't do Power Stones and Essences you miss hundreds of discovery points and you are stuck at max level 60-70 if you discover all islands which is of course no PVE adventure xD. Also you need to do treasure maps to level up in a decent speed up to your max. level 70... but I don't know the best XP grind imho after boss XP removed.(to get from Level 80 to 120) Well i can agree you may not see the Ice Dungeon and the Yeti Boss fight because there is no reward besides torpedos left. The harvest boost was a real (necessary) target in Season 1-2-3 but with farmhouse introduced you don't need that for harvesting anymore(like farming tames). Ok, with level 70 you can probably learn all combat skills and ingoring all tools, weapon and building skills. You may have somebody building ships for you that you can play. You may have somebody cooking for you. You may have somebody breeding for you... but well you just killing and destroying stuff others build and farm for you that you have 2-3 hours fun a day. GG Team Play. But maybe i am wrong and you participated in base building and harbor defence taming and breeding horses, leveling ships etc.

Yah devoting resorces to hats on bears is dumb i can agree with that. i don't agree that getting offline raided is a bad thing. destroying other peoples stuff is a pretty big feature of the game. also yah if you take a 2 week break stuff happens when your gone. basically to counter that you need to be in a company of like 100 people...or however many people it takes to make sure their is always like 10 people on. that's the social aspect of this game. and dont take this as me saying its wrong to take a 2 week break by all means you do what you have to do in real life. the only other thing i would disagree on is the time sink as well. i mean...do you want to play classic wow but everybody is instant 60? runescape but everyone has 99 stats on char creation? their is always unofficial servers for that. their will always be people who spend more time playing than you and some who spend less. depending on how you look at it you can laugh at both when encountered. in defense of the claim system: i think that arguments can be made for the way it was before and the way it is now. It's hard to decide what the philosophy should be on that issue. you could still find a tiny sliver of land to lay a claim tower but its gonna be a bad spot. if its the other way you could make the argument its even worse. someone could just start building literally right next to you and now you're really in for a war. offline raiding. grinding. destroying structures etc: is the whole appeal of the game for some people (me included) and large companys made up of people with social skills who don't blow up and have tempers and who aren't socially durrrrrrrrrr will always be playing the real game and companys with inactive players: ragers, social morons, casuals, bad leaders etc will always be weak and i think that's the way it's meant to be. if you don't like having your stuff destroyed find some cool people to pve with and just roleplay. build ships that are beautiful with complex deck layouts and stuff. basically if you try to play this game solo your gonna have a bad time. i guess you could rp as a savage maniac who jumps out of the bushes with a spear and just be a forest hermit. obviously i agree that technical problems are always bad though and i think going for mass appeal isnt a good idea. This game was meant to be brutal learn to make friends...or else :3

  24. Wow a Teaser based on ingame Footage. At Least that's something Grape Shot. This really looks like you have tested things before adding it into the live servers. Information about the new map are very rare... hopefully you post more information here soon and not only on Discord. The new map is the big change for this patch and hopefully it has some reasons to join Atlas again. Hopefully you have also spent some time on bug fixing and improvment of added stuff like farms, warehouse, and market. Hopefully you will show us some improvments in the loot tables of SotD as well. I am exited to see how new trade wind is working and if you do change the current wind system? Because by just increasing the slowest wind speed and not having it always in direction West to East or East to West would be a big game changer already. Also the wind should change not in a 24h cycle... because it's annoying when it blows every evening in the wrong direction and always with lowest speed when you start playing. I am looking for some reason to use the wind to get my ships out again. Will the trade wind channels move or change direction or are they at fix locations in the map... i guess second option. Maybe the balance of the sails will be addressed sometimes and medium sails will get some use or weight sails will have more impact. For example if you have a cargo attached that reduces speed by 20% a weight sail could reduce this 20% to 10%. Also opening and turning speed of Weight Sails should be buffed. Currently they are worse than all other sails and have no reason to be used besides totaly overloaded harbor run ships. Ok the direction of the new ships system is to change ships to fight only broadside which is more realistic of course... but as long old ships exist they are always supperior due to custimization and rear facing cannons in an amount the Player decides himself. Leveling with fighting SotD is very important. Ships build gets changed after getting max level and only then the ship does not need rear facing cannons anymore. Hopefully the bugs i addressed about the Majestic Kraken(current pre build ships) in general discussion topic will be improved. While it is nice to get attachments for the ramming gally you don't expect somebody to use this ship for transports? But it's good to have this railings at least prepared for larger pre build ships in the future. Balistas with fire bolts with the fast speed buff of the ramming gally could actually be some improvement for a sail destroyer design on PvP. But it looks like the amount of cannons on the ramming gally will be reduced. To place only two balisatas or one large cannons or two small cannons on the broad side deck is the very high level of customization... but maybe you have 3 segments on each side with cannon collision to the sails... Well the saddles look really funny and will be used on PvP a lot.*Irony off* Until they see the first time a horse with a cargo saddle and a swivel gun shooting fire amunition. A Crap will die in about 5 seconds... while it is encumbered and can't jump? But maybe it can jump with 5-6 cannons and amunition. At least crabs have ~1500 weight and can jump up to ~50% of weight reached. So yes this saddle will change PvP fights by 0%... because the horses are still to fast... and fire vs. tames like Elephant, Bear,... is insane strong(OP). On PVE everybody uses baers but on PvP it's all about horses. And from my expirience some good lvl 40-50 breaded horeses a pretty much unkillable if played correctly and not getting outnumbered by grapple hooks and naked black jack figthers. Well maybe that changed with the barrel changes and now the barrels are more used with catapult on horses. What about the puckle placement and shooting bug on this plattform saddle... i guess placed on an elephant the puckles can kill flying birds in the sky... but common is they can't shot down more than about 5-10°. So shooting enemy next to the elephant should not be possible... the bullets get collision with the saddle. And you can't place the front foot of the puckly over the dege of the plattform by adding a celing and removing it after placing puckle. An Elephant with placed large storage box that reduces weight by 66% like cargo saddle would be interesting for wood harvesting... but well you don't need this as you have farms.
  25. I used to think that it was mainly reasonable adults posting on this forum, I'm beginning to think I was wrong. There is no pve vs pvp conflict, as both play styles atm are played on completely different servers. There is also a single player mode which is pve too. They are just the different play styles that we all bought Atlas for. Both pve and pvp have a right to complain about the current state of the game imo, early access or not.
