  1. I've owned a few sailboats and certainly not asking for a more realistic sailing simulator... I feel lucky the boat doesn't get bashed against the Shipyard when clicking "Release" in rough water & crosswind. You can't set your clock to the wind in Kentucky but you sure can in Aruba. Of course hazards along the way would exist, for example 'Rounding The Horn'.
  2. Like right now..servers been down for 20mins or so. Every day it's the same issue at the same time. Forum spammer bots and then the game follows. Tho usually not for this long. Do something about it gs..

More than one cannon/launcher in a gunport is a build method we regard as an exploit and, with that in mind, players with cannons/torpedo launchers placed in this manner are on notice to cease actively using them in PvP and to remove these structures within the next 48 hours. Beyond this 48 hour grace period, ships running this build will be susceptible to enforcement action. Thank you.” I am at a loss, why are the same people that have exploited every other aspect of the game being allowed to make changes vs being actioned with consequences that might merit a change? Has this “Billy I told you stop Billy. Do not make me tell you to stop again Billy or I will tell you to stop again” method not taught you anything? It has taught those that exploit the game that the good graces you show them can be taken advantage of with no recourse for their repetitive actions. It has taught them that they can ruin the game for hundreds if not thousands and Grapeshot will continue to cater to them. It is beyond understanding why Grapeshot has not found a way to police these people from what is a fun game and by simple lack of real action has shown to be complicit to the steady death of this game. Do something tangible, other than to action the people that point out this inaction.

I understand there are lots of island in the server, but in C7 there are 2 island that are exactly the same, the Magriden Holm and the The Cheering Isle. there might be a little different on resources, i have not yet discover all resources, but on the map they have the same out line, this will make it difficult for treasure map.
  5. Plots are all small plots. Seeds are both Pepper. Both planted at same time, both fertilised to 200k fert. The crop is just taken as needed. How can 2 plots with the same seed have completely different uses of fertiliser?   6. This is likely why people are able to duplicate many items, because when a computer is lagging to a server, it is quite easy to exploit the effect to duplicate items. To replicate, load atlas. Wait until atlas loads menu, hit join/rejoin, whilst atlas is loading, login to different steam account, start new atlas executable, load into a different account. The stress generated by the pc allows exploits. Obviously to do this easily you need a decent pc. But the more of a potatoe you have actually makes it easier to exploit. As a potatoe generates more stress, desyncs, lag etc. The dups use 3rd party software as far as I am aware, incl aimbots etc. Personally I don't load them. I don't cheat etc. But I am aware that this is how it is being done, having listened into discord chats detailing precisely how to do it. And ingame conversations with other players. The simplest method of removing this issue, would be to create a check for an already running game and just exit it. or exit any further attempts to run the game. This could present a problem trying to run a server on your own pc, then attempting to connect to it via your atlas browser. If such can be done, just guessing as I do not know specifics.
  7. =INTRODUCTION= I've recently decided to come back and take a look at ATLAS after a very lengthy hiatus from the game. Not being into the "MMO" scene, I elected to go back to Single Player and see what changes have been made - on both the "Ocean" map and the Blackwood map - which was initially designed for smaller servers/Single Player. What is disappointing to see is that Single Player - a game mode that has been included from the start - appears to have been neglected in favour of "doubling down" on the multiplayer aspect which appears to be going catastrophically wrong, given the rather passionate responses I've been reading through today. Single Player is useful to people for many reasons. 1 - It allows people to play ATLAS either alone or, though a non-dedicated server (or even a small dedicated server), with a small group of friends and experience the storyline of ATLAS. 2 - It allows people to get a feel for ATLAS without the rampant toxicity multiplayer servers typically devolve into. 3 - It allows people to experiment with and/or design ships and bases that they may decide to employ on a multiplayer server. For those reasons alone, while it may not be "the focus" of Grapeshot Studios (which to me is seems like Wildcard but by a different name), Single Player should be maintained in the same manner as Multiplayer. The following is my opinion, some suggestion and recommendations which - while I am only one person with one opinion - may spark some more creative flare from a developer or a group that can take this further than I possibly could. =CONTENT= For the most part, given my several hours of reacquainting myself with the systems and mechanics, the "new" map that came with the Trade Winds update so far appears to be a significant improvement over the previous iteration. However there are still areas that require addressing. 1 - Ships of the Damned. This was one of the major reasons I stopped playing (from a Single Player perspective) ATLAS the first time around. SotD seem to ignore any damage resistance/modifier changes. They also still spawn in the *STARTER* zone. While a fully crewed sloop in multiplayer can probably outrun them (assuming good wind - which, granted I did not have in SP at the time of my encounter), my partially crewed Single Player sloop was sunk in 4 volleys by a Level 28 Brigantine. After searching high and low for a command line or mod to assist with SotD, I ended up disappointed. I understand that SotD and AotD are embedded into the storyline and the end-game resources so they cannot be removed entirely - however their number and power should be able to be managed by command line/in-game slider. There should be a map guide (or even a revision of the mechanics surrounding SotD) explaining the likelihood of SotD encounters and their relative power in the zones/regions - similar to what occurs for Wild Pirates - so players can make informed decisions. My recommendation for handling Ships of the Damned for Single Player and small Multiplayer servers is to either implement a slider (or command lines) that reduces the level, damage and group size of SotDs that spawn in and disable their spawning in the STARTER zone (at least), if not the zones immediately surrounding the STARTER zone, ENTIRELY. This gives the player(s) a bit of breathing room to get themselves established - so that when the player reaches the open ocean in either an AI-crewed (or player-crewed) Brig or Schooner (or something larger, provided they can acquire the resources from the starter zone/immediate zones) they at least have a chance to defend themselves if they're unable to avoid the ship. I would also recommend, especially for Single Player - but could also work very well in both an Official and Unofficial setting, that SotD only spawn in the regions containing, and immediately surrounding, the Stones of Power locales. 2 - Wild Pirates. This is not a negative, this is actually a commendation. I actually very much applaud of the addition of these AI pirates from not only a Single Player perspective but also from a PvE and PvP perspective. It gives PvE something to fight against on the sea (aside from SotD) and gives the PvPers something to practice against. From a Single Player perspective it implies that the player is trying to establish their own pirate empire. The map also advises the player on just how powerful the Wild Pirates are in the zones/regions before you enter them - so the player can make an informed decision about entering the zone. 3 - Stupidly high temperatures An island with an ambient temperature of 63 degrees. That's hotter than Dubai on a hot day. In fact, that's 7 degrees hotter than the highest recorded temperature. And these temperatures kill players trying to level. Not even swimming in the ocean works at these temperatures. Either a global temperature adjustment, or a command line/slider to manage how high (and also low) temperatures get. 4 - Blackwood This map was intended to be the ideal answer for small multiplayer servers and Single Player. After exploring the map and reading comments regarding Blackwood on Steam (I've not read the comments here) it is apparent that the upkeep of the map has been abandoned. Certain trees are missing textures, it's missing certain resources and certain spawns are tricky to find. At the very least, I would encourage an update to Blackwood to ensure that those who play on the map have access to the same content as the multiplayer game in a much more condensed size. This would also suit smaller multiplayer servers. However I do have an alternate suggestion: 5 - New Map: The New World A map with the same overall size as Blackwood, but modelled after the real world - much like what the multiplayer ATLAS is doing, but on a more compressed scale. Players start in the Caribbean freeport and the Americas on the western side of the map - with the expansive "Atlantic Ocean" (containing the Kraken's Maw - and 'Atlantis' in the depths) between them and Europe, Africa (and perhaps even a representation of Asia and Australia, if it would fit) on the eastern side with the polar caps hosting icy zones representing the Arctic and Antarctic regions at the top and bottom of the map. Where possible animals would be assigned to spawn on their respective land masses/biomes (i.e. Lions, Elephants and Giraffes in Africa, Wolves in the Americas and Europe, etc.). The Stones of Power can be spread throughout the world (such as ruins in South America and Africa, hidden away in ruined castles in Europe, etc) which encourages the player (or players) to sail and explore - to tame specific creatures they would need to head to specific biomes (which, with the ability to utilise the new 'tame transporter' ship, can be great to showcase what is possible in ATLAS). It would also give players several distinct choices on where to live (the Americas, Caribbean, Europe, the Mediterranean or Africa - or the north/south pole as they choose). This map would also include the necessary resources and requirements for end-game content (such as Atlantean ruins), and need to be able to be expanded upon (in terms of catering to future content). As referenced above regarding SotD, SotD would only spawn in certain regions, though especially in the oceans adjacent to Stones of Power and surrounding the Kraken's Maw - meaning a player or players can go 'hunting' for them with only a very minor chance of them appearing elsewhere - and certainly not as soon as you exit the starter zone. 6 - Gold This is more specific to Single Player, but more ways to find/earn gold would be a great addition. As Single Players *need* gold to manage the larger, more capable ships - even to use a Sloop to get off the starter island - one could find themselves essentially bottlenecked trying to find enough gold to afford a crew. I have no issue with the cost of AI crew, or their cost of retention, but coming up with the gold to pay for them to begin with was quite challenging. In my playthrough, very few bits of flotsam spawned in the starter area and I found myself having to use a raft (after already buying and prepping the ill-fated Sloop) to head out into the adjacent, more dangerous zone, to look for flotsam - to then head back to the starter area in order to get myself a crew. In SP, I suppose I am not penalised for staying on the starter island (with the exception of not having access to metal) so this might not be seen as much of an issue, but in a multiplayer setting - you don't necessarily want your players to base out of the starter island: you want them to leave and explore the larger ATLAS world (hence why there is now no metal on the starter islands). Even if, in SP specifically, one of the vendors in the freeport bought a stack of wood, thatch or stone for 1 gold. It's a lot of work (rates notwithstanding) for little gain but if a player is struggling and they're prepared to put in the effort, they can afford to get off the island with a crewed Sloop, leaving the starter zone behind them (though I would still return myself, especially if I was hosting a non-dedicated session with a friend - or if it was a private server). =CONCLUSION= Overall, I did find that ATLAS had fewer, less obvious bugs than when I last played - so it has clearly had some TLC applied. During my 5 or so hours getting reacquainted, I had no trouble with the way leveling now works, or the introduction to progression. I can not, obviously, speak to the balance of the wider multiplayer game as I personally would not seek to play ATLAS on such a scale - as I play with a small, close group of friends. From what I've been able to observe and achieve in my time, there is no issue with how things progress (with the exception of SotD and extremely high temps). If the 6 main points above were to be addressed and/or achieved this would put ATLAS in good stead when it comes out of Early Access. If "v1.0" does not contain methods to address or fix the issues listed above, the game cannot be considered "out of Early Access" when features it has had since EA launch do not function as intended across all game modes.   8. Large cannons in port 2-5(the only ones they can snap to) don't all aim in the same direction.
  9. So running a 7x7 grid production and wanting to run a small test 2x2 grid on the same server however wondering how this will affect Redis. Anyone doing this type of stuff? I'm trying to run with diff names for the DB's but it doesn't seem to like that and hangs when I try to start it. If someone has successfully ran multiple grids on the same hardware how did you do it? I'm running Redis as a service now and it's on a single port. So can you run just multiple redis db's on the same server with different grids located in different folders obviously. So C:\Atlas Production C:\Atlas Test and then connect them to a redis db on the same port but diff db names in the json? Anyway lots of questions and if noone knows I'll spin up a separate VM to host a 2nd DB perhaps as I'm sure that would work but if I don't have to that is my preferred way. Anyway thanks in advance for any info you guys might can share.
  10. We claim an 86-point island. Then we found a 100% island with 57 points. WTF? Even every tree has the same location. So why are our islands nearly half as expensive?
  11. Noone in my company can get on either. Server lists are empty for last 2-3 mins and there was no warning ingame or servers coming down. And the moment I post this.. here they are. Coming back online.. what happen? Someone nuke you for nerfing the game? Wow logged back in with ship at full sails..
  12. I have two steam accounts and two copies of ATLAS. When I relog Steam and log back into the game, I usually have connection issues and need to restart the client a few times before I can get in with the other character. This tends to be exacerbated if the character is moved to a different grid. E.g. Character B is running on the laptop. I log out on the laptop and load up on the desktop, do stuff, move to another grid while playing on the desktop, then log out and relog on the laptop.
  13. So what I've noticed in the ptr is now the claim is the whole island rather than some flags. So there will be less claims (more people without their own claims) and the same taxes. All this new system did was screw landowners who had land and made us all slaves to the very few that will get claims. System is by far worse than what we had. Land claims should have been 3 flags per player, maybe 5. This system is crap. Guess it really doesnt matter since there is no na pve server now. Man the dev's completely blew this game.
  14. Last night before i logged off i gave all bears 4200 berries. This would have kept them fed for around 9 hours before the food would have been eaten and spoiled. But cause i dont trust this game, i decided to log in 3 and a half hours later to check the babies, only to see that they starved to death 2 hours after i logged off. You may say that i miscalculated and made a mistake, but look at the time they died. Can you see the weirdness of the situation? All babies are from different mothers with different food values, different maturation stages and slightly different amount of berries in their inventory. But still all 11 died in the same INGAME second. One ingame minute equales one real life second (more or less) Wich means all of them died in the same instance. Oh btw, they all also had different hp, so no natural explanation how they died the absulute same time in that case either.

It will probably get worse over the next few days as people start to 'go out with a bang' The biggest problem with the upcoming wipe is the wiping of characters, or more importantly the characters DP's. The real level grind in the game is search for and discovering as many of the DP's as possible which in turn lets you level up. People have literally spent hundreds of hours sailing from place to place to find these discovery points. By wiping characters there is simply no reason to log in for the next 3 weeks, this will result in players trying other games, some will find a new crack, others will just not want to face searching for the same DP's again. End result is a much smaller player base after the wipe. My suggestion is that they retain characters, set everybody's xp to 0, forced 'respec', wipe inventory, claims, tames, map etc so after the wipe everybody comes back with their characters as level 1's, with no xp and only retains their DP's. This would also encourage everybody to keep playing and spending the next 3 weeks exploring the map and keeping player engagement. Fail to do this and i generally think post wipe you will see a 30~50% player reduction than from before the wipe announcement.
  17. EU PVP F5 IS SLOWER TO SAIL WIT THE SAME WIND THAN OTHER ZONES Tried and experienced on different days, and after several (server) restarts. Issue is always the same. F5 with same wind is slower (quartered speed!) than other zones around it.
  18. Heya. Just my few cents ark, dark&light and now Atlas, have same players complaining over the same things. To total it up, all those games aim for a larger player base than the two "official" game modes PVP/PVE-RP can not give. i could make a list longer than the universe on the differences that the players wants, but it summens it up to, making the game aim for more player differencies makes all complaint, about the game. If only one game mode was able it would be easier to get the bugs and exploits obsolete. mission impossible

Hello all, i have a question, if i want to create 2 of the same creatures moded like this example: Blue_Elephant with wood weight reduction of 10% (actually replace the vanilla one) This one require only the inventory and the BP itself to work since it is using the same vanilla name. Red_Elephant with wood weight reduction of 20% Do i need to add it somewhere in the PrimalGameData_BP? Can i just use the BP and the Inventory for both if they use all other files like mesh and stuff or i really need to copy the mesh and all stuff for both ? Thanks for your help!

Claimed an area that had buildings on got one land one sea , The previous owners had built out to sea I am able to only partially remove the old buildings even though its my name on entire area covering the building . Land claim area can demo Reminder of building sea claim In short the entire new claim is useless as cannot build too close to enemy foundations building g should auto demo when flag expires Pve servers
  22. I think im done with this game.. There are so many problems but the storage box hacking is disgusting. "but someone could guess your pin, it might not be a hack"... No.. Ive had it happen to me about 10 times overall. 2 times in the last night, and then this one today... Last time i watched the person hop on my boat, open the box, and take the stuff out within a minute or less. I keep changing the codes. This is a hack and, to me, this is very telling.. If you cant have some sort of anti cheat software then what the fuck do you expect? This game has the potential to be the best game ever? No. Im sorry. This is the same problem as ark. People will work for things but not if you allow cheaters to take those things by cheating. Getting wiped is one thing, getting meshed is different. Getting your ship wrecked and robbed is one thing, getting aim botted and having your boxes hacked are another thing. Why work for shit if someone can just cheat without any consequences? "bu bu but this is early access, this isnt the real game"... Shut up. No shit. But this is a nearly completed game. This is a game that many people are playing just fine, mostly cheaters and people in companies with 200+ people.. This is a game that cost 30 bucks. Early access is one thing, but allowing cheaters to aimbot, instakill, hack boxes, and so much more, is not early access. That is just trash. Who puts out a EA game with no anti cheat software, wtf? But the most telling thing of all is ark. Ark was plagued for years with this shit. Literally til this day. It will never change because the devs dont care. Everything happening in atlas is happening in ark right now with little consequence. Last time i played ark I was on a small tribe server that was held hostage by a mesher who wiped countless bases for 7+ months. 7 months til they got dev wiped, only for them to start again.. Same character lol. 7 months of god knows how many peoples hard work down the drain because of cheating. Pathetic. If its been happening in ark for years, til this day, why should anyone believe it will ever be different in atlas? Prove me wrong, but i doubt it.

  24. Last night I logged out on a raft. Next day I log in and the raft is gone and I wake up in the water off the coast. Tried killing myself with the usual techniques, nothing work. Can't starve, drown, or even attack creatures. Ran to the harbor near me and I am also unable to speak to any of the NPCs. There are about 60 people currently on the server and I do not see anyone in the starting harbor area. My ping is around 50-60. I am not lagging, animals are moving around, and chat is working. I also have no audio. When I exit to the Atlas home screen and reconnect I spawn in the exact same spot. I tested this by swimming for about 10 min logging off and connecting. Always spawn in the same exact location. I am on the M9 server near the west port. Validating files did not help. Anyone else experiencing this?
  25. The same thing happened in Ark but they fixed it when they allowed you to join a local server by clicking the lan button. Atlas does not have ability for you to join a game hosted on the same network unless you use a vpn which is nice until you want to stream then things slow down too much. If anyone has a work around for this please let me know cause as of now I cant play on my own server while my friends have fun.
