  1. It had been a week or so after that fateful night before I was ready to set off to sea. I had arranged for all of my personal belongings to be sold off, in exchange for some supplies and passage on a ship heading east. The ship would rendezvous in Nozetal with a local captain who was known to take any fare as long as the gold was right. With my itinerary set, the days could not go by fast enough, anxiously waiting to set course for the lands unknown depicted in the cryptic journal. We laid my brother's body to rest a couple days after I had discovered him dead, washed up on the shore. My boisterous brother had apparently made a name for himself in this small harbor town with nearly half the residents in attendance at his funeral. To somber the mood, his mates suggested a celebration in his honor and begrudgingly I obliged, on the terms it took place the night before I left. As much as I would enjoy a fitting send off for closest kin, I was still well aware that those that murdered Nathan could still be out there and would still be looking for the pages he died protecting. The inn was full that night, filled with every sort of scallywag one could imagine. As I was packing my belongings in one of the rooms above, the windows laid open, a vent from the heat already rising from the festivities taking place below. Towards the end of the evening I made my way downstairs to make my appearances, anxious for this night to end so I could start my journey come sunrise. I took a seat at the bar with a few old crewmates and bided my time with half laughs and fake smiles, waiting for the opportunity to make some excuses to end the night early. After about four or five half-baked, fully exaggerated stories and a sea shanty or two, I noticed my mug had run dry and was looking to the innkeep to top me up. However, as I lifted my glass to signal my predicament, I noticed he had much more pressing matters at hand. His eyes were fixed on the doorway, as if sizing up trouble as it entered the inn. As I peered over my shoulder through the crowded bar room, three figures in black cloaks made their way through the crowd and sat themselves at a table in the back corner. A chill went up my spine as I turned to face the bar and the empty mug in front of me, feeling their eyes burn a hole in my back. The room felt much hotter and as I gripped the pages of the journal tucked into my shirt, panic raced in my mind as sweat began to bead on my forehead. "You alright mate?" I thought the innkeeper shouted but all noises had become dull and unrecognizable as I wondered if I was about to share the same fate as my brother. "Oi, you're clean dry, let me fix that for ya!", he continued as he grabbed my mug. But I was no longer concerned with my thirst, for it seemed my demise was inevitable, draped in a black cloak a few yards away. Thoughts raced in my head, of my brother, the journal, and the dreams dashed before they started. Through pure instinct, my body urged me to run. Run as fast as I can to anywhere. Anywhere is better than here. Before my head could process, my hand was already on the bar turning myself to the door. Eyes fixed on the target, I plotted my route through the crowd and out the front door. I took a moment to glance at my pursuers and as our eyes met, a slam pierced through the fog of noise and shook me to attention. I turned to the bar to see a frothy mug had been dropped at my place and a kind smile had returned with a solution to my woes. "Take a swig and you'll be alright lad," he beckoned. Dazed, with the train of thought derailed, I grabbed the mug and took a hearty swig, half in hopes this ale would deliver me from this hellish situation. To my surprise, my salvation wasn't in the mug but under it. As I wiped my lips with my sleeve and looked to place the mug down again, in its place was a worn iron key. My eyes widened as I stared at it and when I finally looked up at the innkeep, he leaned and whispered, "You should get a bit of rest now. I think you'll find this room a little more comfortable." As he leaned back and left to address the rest of the clientele, the pieces, once jumbled, were now set and I had hope. With my back to my potential assailants, I carefully tucked the key into my jacket and stood up from the bar. With one last swig, I finished my drink and then said my farewells. I left every coin on my person and carefully made my way back up the stairs. As I ascended, I took one last look across the room at the three in black, hoping to never see them again. I raced down the hallway past my room and used the key to enter the room next door. I slid into the room and quickly locked it shut. With my back against the door, I clutched the journal at my chest and let out a deep breath. It was not long before I heard footsteps in the hallway. Nervously, I had placed myself up against the wall shared with my previous room and could hear, although muffled by the noise from below, as they made entry into my former quarters. They moved quickly, breaking down the door and quickly realizing I was no longer there. From the muffled shouts, they deduced I had left through the window that had been left open and sent one in search of me while the others stayed to search the room. The desperate snapping of wood and tearing of cloth was the only thing heard for the next few minutes as I sat in silence, occasionally startled when their carnage would fly across the room and slam into the shared wall. Thoroughly spent and unrewarded, the noise from the neighboring room subsided and finally, after some time, hurried footsteps rushed down the hallway to continue their search elsewhere. They had not found me but I was not safe yet. I dared not sleep in fear of their return and sat quietly, in anticipation of the footsteps coming down the hall again. Paranoia began to creep in as every sound as the night went on drew closer to sounds of imminent danger. It was not long before I began pleading within myself for the sun to rise and to be away from this town. I needed to do something to keep the idle mind at bay. To keep myself from madness, I lit a candle on the floor and pulled out the journal. I hastily arranged the sea-soaked pages on the floor and began to decipher the next entry in the journal. As the words and phrases unraveled, I became more and more obsessed, losing my senses of the world around me. The findings Nathan died protecting would change the world forever and it was our fate to share them with the world. Possessed, I continued to scribble the entry into existence. The sky had changed to a lighter shade of blue and a peek of orange could be seen once I was done. In my amazement and relief, I read the words aloud, grateful to see another day. “I set sail to the Walfield Atol, an island reported to have Power Nodes located on it. As it appeared on the horizon, I could see an odd formation sticking out of the sand. It looked too straight to be a rock, but due to its size I couldn’t imagine what else it could be. As I sailed closer however, I realized it was carved! It was an immense statue. I could see the outline of the skull carved into stone, eyes glowing green in the late evening light. Dropping anchor, I jumped into the water and swam to shore. This statue had to be bigger than any I have seen in these waters before. Was this the structure that so many pathfinders have spoken of? I set off on foot towards the center of the island, where an Altar was rumored to be. As I follow the river around a large rock formation I pass carved rock pillars. Similar to the totem statue that I passed earlier, but not as large. Looking forward I see something that can only be described as a man made hill. It is a giant perfectly round… mound. The same skulls that were carved into the totem are all over it. I made my way to the top and almost fell face first into a pit. I’m sickened by what I see at the bottom. Several skeletons and rotting corpses are floating in a shallow pool of water. The smell of rotting flesh makes me fall back, slipping and rolling to the dirt. Shaken, I stand and rush past this Burial Mound hoping that that is the worst I find on this island. Finally, I found the Altar that I’m looking for. Cursed Pirates are everywhere, so I am hiding in a bush. Watching the pirates I notice that they are carrying large chunks of stone and wood around another huge boulder. I sneak around and sink back onto my knees. They have built what looks like a temple. There must be several rooms inside, as I watch at least fifty pirates enter the structure with full loads, but leave empty handed. Do I dare try to sneak inside? I didn’t bring enough grog for that. I hurry back to my Sloop and set sail for the nearest freeport.” I sat back in awe. These altars, these monuments, could etch our names in history! Not only that, I finally had a destination. Walfield Atol, I had never heard of it, but it was start. I frantically gathered what was left of my things and raced to the harbor. I sprinted through the streets, half-delirious, half-jubilant, shedding tears to my good fortune. And as the anchor raised from my vessel and the harbor slowly shrank into the distance, peace had finally set in. The doors were all shut. But miraculously, I had been given a key, and now, wonders untold await me. Exhausted, I went into the hold for some much needed rest. I grabbed whatever I could find and made a bed on a few crates. And there I slept, dreams reignited, swathed in a long black cloak. Major Announcement We hope you are enjoying our continuing narrative building up to our next major patch!   2. Yeah im guessing copper is the same way. i've looked at a ton of high/low desert and haven't seen it anywhere. Unfortunately i dont have a spot to put down a market.
  3. There are manned puckes/cannons to recuite crew Did you try to tame a drake or what? You did prove multiple times that you cant really handle data, maybe stop using them in your arguments. What is your mission here btw, since almost a year you bring up the same stuff from time to time. If atlas isnt yours anymore, just let it diefor you and move on.
  4. Sadie - I did it the same way you did at first, then I took a week and looked only for a place I could put down gathering buildings and a market before I settled in. Took some time but finally found a spot.
  5. Was my first thought too. It is longer Majestic Kraken without blue color and kraken design. Still same issue with turning rate, repair system. But maybe 3 large sails for better speed. I guess a Brig ist still better ship and a Gally as well. No wonders they announce this one and list the bugs the ships still has. Stretching the modular design was to diffficult. Just deleted 4 days ago to play in a New World. Just have time at work to read this forum once a week to check if this loved game get worse and worse. Now playing PvP when ever i like or just quest or gather/craft without being trolled and griefed... this i will never miss from Atlas... Keep it up devs. I appreciate you listen to the community and do what they ask for on Discord or in Nirvana. Don't bother to read the forum please. Nice picture by the way. That PVE castle gets attacked by a PvP ship.... imagine the cannons could reach the walls... but the range is not enough so the impact is below the castle in the rock. I would love to see a video of the devs testing this ship in PvP fight with some other ships. Give us a hind of the tactics we could use this ship for.
  6. Ship is the same cost as Majestic Kraken, but have more cannons : )) Why do we need Majestic Kraken then? : ))
  7. The problem with the comparison, is aside Atlas being forked off from Ark, the two have nothing in common anymore, developmentally. Ark has stayed in the same hands, more or less, from start to finish. Atlas got handed off to some nobody know-nothings who have neither none of the directional sense, nor none of the community involvement. Hey Grapeshot B-Team! Y'all are totally garbage at everything. Game design, community engagement, player satisfaction! Modders are better than you at giving people what they want! Case in point; I just saw this mod linked on the announcement page for the pile of trash you so proudly trotted out. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2539752770 The mod here has me incomparably more excited for what it could offer to the game, then anything you guys have done in the past year. And that will probably be the future case, the only way I can enjoy Atlas in any real way is private games, modded severely. Y'all are so out of touch, it's just pathetic.
  8. I wish I could, it is so random it will work for 1 or 2 days then get stuck on the loading screen when the loading bar says "ocean". Been an issue the entire month or so I have owned the game. It loaded last night fine, this morning same issue.
  9. X series seems to be the only xbox that is unaffected by the update that came out around the 17th. I have series s and x and the s doesn't work on large islands anymore. Cross your fingers. Complain. I have same issue. Don't know what to tell you. I think it's a push from Microsoft to get people to buy x series. my guess is xbox live network issue. These devs are slow at fixing things so good luck.
  10. Nitrado is probably the worst Server-host around. I was wondering in the beginning, how they ever managed to land the "official Server host" gig. It makes sense tho if you think about it. They offer about the same level of support and professionalism as the Atlas Team
  11. Same thing is happening to me. As far as I'm concerned, the makers of this game can go fuck themselves. There are plenty of games out there that actually work.
  12. ive been away from the game awhile and decided to play again and wanted to make a new pathfinder but if i click the button it just sends me to main menu i have verified the files and done a full reinstall same issue persists HELP

Replaying Atlas is like going back to a bad ex, you know they keep making promises they will never keep, yet at the same time play on your emotions to keep giving them more chances ,stating how you knew who they were when you took them back and you knew things might not change. In the end you realize they are toxic for you. You count your losses and move on.

  15. Increased defense, damage and rate of fire for Defense Tavers at control points made it even possible for these towers to craft them according to blueprints ... But still did not understand what a bicycle with triangular wheels is doing, no matter how you craft and improve these towers, you can to destroy even with a schooner with big guns, despite the fact that these mega-worn towers will never reach her! That's what it means when developers have autism - they just don't know the mechanics of the game they are making! You have added platforms for crabs on which you can place a large cannon ... reduced the height at which you can place a Puckle, thereby rendering ground PvP because a large cannon standing at an angle can get where you can no longer place a Puckle. But this is still the tip of the iceberg, you made it so that the buildings even the same pillar base, you can wipe from the water ... Trying to impose naval PvP you made the land useless ... Devs do you know the PvP mechanics of your own game for sure? !! You realize that the damage on the ship can be pumped no matter what percentage of dmg the guns have, all this is all the more summed up in the end ... You cannot pump damage with buildings on the ground ... This makes the ground absolutely, catastrophically, with the current balance - useless !!!
  16. hey atlas for the furture we want a bit longere maintaince warnign than 15 min, been the same for 3days, it says dosent required restart, but 10-15 min after maintaince happens, the server crashs, would also love to find out, why are u making maintaince, ( like some sort of info ) why u doing maintaince
  17. Hello. Je vais m exprimer en français,... Je trouve que finalement sur atlas ce qui crée le contenu est tout simplement le monde les personnes... Les interactions entre joueurs... Regroupe tous les joueurs pvp et pve sur une même map 20x20 en mettant au extrémités de la map sur les 2 cases du bord les zones pve... Et les zones pvp sur le centre... Qui elle serait dominer par les tribes pvp... Et créé des zones d influence... En fonction de la domination des tribes pvp... Et dans les zones pvp mettre des ressources que les zones pve n ont pas... Ce qui forverai les groupes a collaboré et créerait un marché finalement... Que se soit pour la vente d animaux tamé en pve vendu au joueur pvp ou même pour l acheminement d animaux et la revente d animaux capturer en zone pvp si les joueurs pve ne veulent pas s aventurer en pvp ou alors a leurs risque et péril... Ou alors ils s arrange avec les tribe pvp pour la protection ou l accord pour pouvoir s aventuré en toutes sécurité pourbles marchands de pve... J espère que vous avez compris plus au moins le principe mais plus ont sera sur ce satané atlas et plus ont rigolera il est oubl atlas des début ou c etais la galère...?
  18. I remember when a LOT more people than this, commented on a patch/update. You Devs REALLY really need to listen to your player base. PvE IS important for the life of this game. Just as PvP is. And while I don't play PvP, I can say the reason I quit playing Atlas was because you guys made it very clear PvE people were just stuck with whatever, because you didn't care about us at all. Niiiiiice. Nothing like being told that one half of your player base is unimportant; not the focus of your development. I quit playing also because beyond treasure maps, building ships and a base/home port, and taming animals, there is nothing to do. Pirate settlements just aren't enough! We need quest lines that change every couple of months. We need quality of life improvements, not some ship that would never outrun SoDs in open seas. We don't need pylons/towers. And this isn't Ark: We don't need spiders we can ride and climb with! I'll bet even PvP people would appreciate more to do outside of PvP, just to give a reason FOR PvP. Could you imagine being on a quest, and running into a rival company trying to do the same quest? PvP opportunity for PvP people! You Devs have wrecked this game, and I'm greatly saddened by it. Atlas has so much potential, and you're not realizing it. You're just handing everyone junk patches and new crap we DON'T want, while ignoring everyone trying to tell you what we/they DO want. Maybe you should try to listen to us more. Try actually READING these comments. Stop catering to only one type of gameplay, and realize that PvE is just as important to the life of this game as is PvP. I just can't figure out if you're really that LAZY, or that DUMB. Mind-boggling.

  20. Afternoon everyone, I run a 3x3 cluster for ATLAS that's hosted by NITRADO. I am having the same map/treasure map issue that others seem to be having. I have removed the two URL lines in the JSON and have made sure all images are JPEG images and not PNG. I have noticed that my maps seem to work just fine IF i log out in a home grid. Right now our server only has one homegrid BUT if i made them all home grids would this fix the map issue? If i did that would i have to upload a new JSON and would doing that cause a wipe or other issues? I am very very tired of this map thing not working and ive scoured the internet for a definitive fix but it seems that its hit or miss what will work and what will not. Any advice/ suggestions?? Thanks in advance!!

  22. Its you! Hah, nah im just kidding. But remember devs are just that, developers. They get specs from management and just write the code to match the specs given to them. I honestly think its management getting pressure from upper mangement on what to add, and i think that that upper management is most likely from ark. Hence this stuff being added is ark type stuff. If i had to guess there is most likely a fairly lage disconnect between atlas management and their upper management and i base that guess on recent patch content. Honestly the patch content really doesnt make much sense or match the roadmap given 6 months ago. I am or was a developer years ago but now i am in management and i have seen this before with the disconnects like this and unfortunately when this happens projects like this get cancelled after so long. Sure you can say covid put the screws to development teams but its no longer a valid argument due to all the resorces availble at you disposal to tele work and colaborate on your project i.e. teams, skype all that is available. Year and a half ago my cousin and I played this, pve only, and we had a blast. Sure it got boring saiiling just around for different resources but we had a good time sailg and doing silly crap while we were sailing then it just went downhill fast when we had boneheads blocking our port and stuff like that but i assume they were bored too so they just decided to grief. This can be a really good game along side ark but i think they need to get their management together and really think what they want to do and get everybody on the same page. Some pre-built ships and flower pots are not going to cut it. Folks will come back if people start talking about it in a positive light, but the way things are now people will come to this website and see the craptasticc patch notes and just keep playing whatever they are currently playing and not give it a second thought.
  23. Alright. Let's check some more screenshots. I couldn't make smoke screen working. I put 100 coal to figurehead (you can put it from front door in upper deck), press shift+z and nothing happened. I've tried both shifts, ctrl, ctrl+shift etc. Then I found my 100 coal is gone. I then put there 500 coal. But no matter how I tried - it still 500 in figurehead. I put in to the ship: 1 - Bed 2 - Mess table 3 - Small box 4 - Large box 5 - Ammunition box 6 - Grille 7 - Resource box 8 - Barrel... Then I reach my custom object limit. No lanterns, to stairs to crownests etc. When I said this is slowest ship ever - check this picture. I've already put like 18 points in to weight and It up my speed to 6.50 knots downwind. Fighting with damned ships is... well... no dancing, no kiting. The only option here is just stop, tank, and shoot. The most broken thing in this ship is gunports. Like back-top gunports have double doors graphic. You can open one door by pressing "R" from steering wheel to open all gunports, and then, you can approach gunport and open another door yourself. Second manual door doesn't affect shooting, your cannons just stick our through them. One more thing. When you crew manning both rear cannons, they block your only entrance to the ship. They just push you aside and to the ocean while you trying to enter your ship. Another broken gunports issue. Some cannons doesn't move out when you open your gunport. It just stays inside the ship, and doesn't shoot. This happens with both right cannons in front and back, and also with front right cannon in the low deck. So basically you've got just 1 cannon front and back and 7 cannons aside. One more thing. When I was fighting damned ship, I used Rally and Overdrive at the same time. I made one manual shoot, my crew reloaded cannons fast, but instead of making another shoot they just dropped all their cannon stations. Wtf??? Armor is working really well. It gives you extremely good protection from low level damned ship. I tanked 4 lvl-9 damned brigs and got my armor down to 12000-15000. With defense stats It'll bring really good protection. I'll try to test this one later. Stay tuned.
  24. You know... I still feel that this Atlas being developed on leftover basis. It's like they have around 35 ppl overall in company, they do ARK-II, they work enthusiastically there. And then, once in 1-2 days, one or two developers open Atlas project and do something there within couple of hours. I was 3D developer long ago, I was creating Russian trains for TainZ game in 3D studio Max, and It took me the same time to introduce my new projects, as they do this modular ships. I was working alone and using my free time, after university and some homework. It's not DEVs bad, or something. It's just they don't wanna to. They do more interesting and more important projects. Atlas is more like burden project for them. They don't have time to love it, to feel excited about it, to share their feelings. Even each patch notes - they are ve-e-e-ery formal with copy-paste text like: Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, and will be there for next 10-15 years... I mean I would be glad if I wrong here, I just saying my feelings.

After I've got this ship I... was kinda got that this WONT be a sailing game of my dream. I was thinking about something like Pirates of Caribbean, piracy and sailing age romance and all that king of stuff. I've enjoyed old Russian "Corsairs" game so much back of the days. And I was dreaming about getting modern MMO game like this. But with all 4 modular ships I can clearly see - it's just gonna go totally different style. More like fantasy world, with orcs and elves, dragons, magic etc. Not what I wish for. So... this season probably be my last one here. I've enjoyed the game, especially at the beginning, with all survival and exploration stuff, but... I just don't wanna THIS. I wish to ride some fast Caravelle or Corvette ship, to serve some fraction, hunt pirates, escort trade expedition, explore the world... or... to be a pirate. Not just pick sausage-like ship called turtle, and fight disco-rave damned ship with jet engines... It's nothing wrong with this concept. It's just I don't want it... I'll test Turtle ship anyway. Oh and my advanced shipyard didn't have this ship in menu. I had to remove this shipyard and build the same one. Only after that I've got turtle ship icon there. Basics It's same wide as schooner (wider ships just won't fit advanced shipyard) and twice longer. It has... you wait for it: - 4500 basic weight. With no sails - you'll get your empty ship 92.5% loaded. If you put crew there, it'll just sink. It has 4.0 sails points and your only option in the beginning is to put weight sails. It has 2 small and 1 mid weight sails by default and It gives you 9000 basic weight (around 40% of ship load). YOU CAN NOT PUT THERE A LARGE SAIL. Because this ship is just not allows you to do so. It shows "no snap point" message. So in the beginning your best option will be to put there 2 mid weight sails. It'll give you 9750 basic weight. Then If you wanna do faster setup, you'll have to spend like 20 points to weight, and replace weightsails with speed sails. - Empty ship with 2 mid weight sails brings you 5-6 knots full speed. You wanna sail half atlas? Prepare to waste 5-6 hours for that. The slowest ship ever. - It has 24 crew capacity. With 20 cannons 3 default sails and you - it has all your basics needs. RAW Stuff It's not just small hole for ladder between decks. Here the ladder is moved a bit, so you have to jump if you go up. Basic masts graphic is like that. But if you replace sails, all goes to normal. Paint... errr... just don't paint it. Hitbox feels weird. It can't handle shallow waters same as mortar ship, but I sail through pier and pillars like there is nothing there: Steering wheel in low deck. Masts in upper deck. So manual sails control is tricky. But here you also protected from cold weather and tornadoes. Gunports. Alright. By default this ship has: 20 cannons (8 each side. 2 in front pointing forward. 2 in back pointing backward). 32 gunports (12 each side. 4 in front pointing forward. 4 in back pointing backward). So we have 12 gunports without cannons. Unfortunately you can't equip empty gunports, because cannon replacement still broken. Now. We can't do anything with gunports in front and real castles. But those 16 gunports on board sides, can be turned to: - up to 16 double gunports (which increases amount of gunports up to 48 but amount of cannons up to 36. 16 each side and 2 front and back). - up to 16 oar modules. - up to 16 regular planks. But with all those options, those parts will loose their armor. Only single cannon gunport brings armor to itself here. Also this spiked shell roof count as "railing" but you can't replace this one with railing modules like catapult or so... Armor. Most of default part has armor stat on them. - Castles has 10 000 hp and 15 600 armor. - Gunports has 7500 hp and 15 600 armor. - Railing has 5000 hp and 15 600 armor. You can fix usual HP with patches. You can fix armor only in your advanced shipyard (you need to move your ship there), with green anchored stat, using special hammer and armor patches. Armor patch cost the same as usual but instead of wood you need to use metall. Usual patch requires 100 fib + 120 thch + 200 wood. Armor patch requires 100 fib + 120 thch + 200 metall. Imagine your ship have all parts to 0 hp and all armor to 0 as well (and it didn't sink for some reason). To repair them all with patches you'll need overall: - 53 500 fibers. - 64 200 thatches. - 32 000 wood. - 75 000 metall. So this ship is most expensive ship in terms of maintenance. There is a hint there tho. Instead of repairing board side modules you can just replace them with new one. Each costs just 20+40+60 wood+thtch+fib and it'll brings you full repaired parts : )) I'll continue this thread later. I'll move it to open seas and see what my adventure brings. But... well, it's gonna be a bit difficult for me. I just don't have any inspiration to do so... Stay tuned anyway.
