  1. Ahoy Pathfinders! In this patch, we are preparing for a new era in Atlas. The winds of progress are coming to the world, bringing new structures and adventures for all pathfinders, new and old. Large plumes of smoke can be seen on the horizon, signaling the “revolution” to come. First off, we have the much anticipated tame house being introduced in this patch. Breeders rejoice, these tame houses will make a great shelter for all your fauna friends, while significantly speeding up the breeding process. In preparation for the new season and Wonder coming soon, the fires of the industrial forge have been stoked to produce new resources and structures for Atlas. With these metallurgical advances, the landscape of Atlas will never be the same. Discover the origins of these new technological feats in two new regions of the Atlas map. Along with the new discoveries, these areas hold new mysteries and challenges that will test even the most seasoned pathfinder. Lastly, as always, we are dedicated to bettering the gameplay experience with every patch. This patch has a slew of bug fixes and improvements for the game, many suggested and reported by the community. 3. Would it be possible to keep QoL skills between wipes? While this is possible it is not something that should be done without consideration. The most active time is the few weeks after a wipe when players are all at the same progress level, same island claim opportunity, etc. Allowing players to keep their quest progress will give an unfair advantage to those players. We are looking into ways of reducing the repetitiveness of the progression to endgame. Sounds like BS to me! Wipes are nothing but a short population by boost destroying players progress and forcing them to regrind old content. The early game sucks and its boring. I've seen it too many times. This is not about being fair. People start out fresh and are behind others all the time. It's an MMO, that's how it works. Destroying people's progress over and over is not how it's done in MMOs. Even those that start fresh at the same time have different play rates and are quickly at different levels and progress. As in all MMOs. And it matters less than zero on pve. For pvp how about something more logical if you want a wipe... Now that we have portals, link pve zones and pvp zones. Then only wipe the structures on pvp zones only, leaving the pve zone untouched and skills untouched. Maybe two factions of pve zones on either side of the pvp zones like pirates and the English. After a pvp zone wipe, the pvpers can race in to claim and do their thing. While the pveer can support their faction. Now you have an economy and more game play. Doing it without buying a population boost by destroying players efforts. ... The real problem is currently many players run out of content once they reach a point, then play less. So, you make them regrind old content over and over. And in the process, you piss off the long remaining player base. I can't think of any other MMO that does this. ... One mega server, split in two sides/factions (or more), with a large rich pvp zone in the middle. Rich as in something worth fighting over. Not just fighting just to fight. Rich pve zones that pveer never need to leave if they choose not to and from which they can support the needs of their pvp faction should they choose to.
  4. I've been around since release and I have to think there is something more to this story. Atlas is getting better in many ways recently but yes still has bugs. I'm thinking this is not a bug but something else. Like someone said, maybe another claim. Or, I've seen cobras strike a structure until parts have been destroyed. Altas is also a game where a little knowledge goes a long way to prevent you from getting boned. Sadly that knowledge can be hard to learn without finding out the hard way. Or even worse, when you get boned and don't understand why. Try Central it seems to be running fine lately (has bears). And if you run across a brig named Alaska, dock and ask for a couple of bears. I have about 8 sitting out now waiting for a home.
  5. =INTRODUCTION= I've recently decided to come back and take a look at ATLAS after a very lengthy hiatus from the game. Not being into the "MMO" scene, I elected to go back to Single Player and see what changes have been made - on both the "Ocean" map and the Blackwood map - which was initially designed for smaller servers/Single Player. What is disappointing to see is that Single Player - a game mode that has been included from the start - appears to have been neglected in favour of "doubling down" on the multiplayer aspect which appears to be going catastrophically wrong, given the rather passionate responses I've been reading through today. Single Player is useful to people for many reasons. 1 - It allows people to play ATLAS either alone or, though a non-dedicated server (or even a small dedicated server), with a small group of friends and experience the storyline of ATLAS. 2 - It allows people to get a feel for ATLAS without the rampant toxicity multiplayer servers typically devolve into. 3 - It allows people to experiment with and/or design ships and bases that they may decide to employ on a multiplayer server. For those reasons alone, while it may not be "the focus" of Grapeshot Studios (which to me is seems like Wildcard but by a different name), Single Player should be maintained in the same manner as Multiplayer. The following is my opinion, some suggestion and recommendations which - while I am only one person with one opinion - may spark some more creative flare from a developer or a group that can take this further than I possibly could. =CONTENT= For the most part, given my several hours of reacquainting myself with the systems and mechanics, the "new" map that came with the Trade Winds update so far appears to be a significant improvement over the previous iteration. However there are still areas that require addressing. 1 - Ships of the Damned. This was one of the major reasons I stopped playing (from a Single Player perspective) ATLAS the first time around. SotD seem to ignore any damage resistance/modifier changes. They also still spawn in the *STARTER* zone. While a fully crewed sloop in multiplayer can probably outrun them (assuming good wind - which, granted I did not have in SP at the time of my encounter), my partially crewed Single Player sloop was sunk in 4 volleys by a Level 28 Brigantine. After searching high and low for a command line or mod to assist with SotD, I ended up disappointed. I understand that SotD and AotD are embedded into the storyline and the end-game resources so they cannot be removed entirely - however their number and power should be able to be managed by command line/in-game slider. There should be a map guide (or even a revision of the mechanics surrounding SotD) explaining the likelihood of SotD encounters and their relative power in the zones/regions - similar to what occurs for Wild Pirates - so players can make informed decisions. My recommendation for handling Ships of the Damned for Single Player and small Multiplayer servers is to either implement a slider (or command lines) that reduces the level, damage and group size of SotDs that spawn in and disable their spawning in the STARTER zone (at least), if not the zones immediately surrounding the STARTER zone, ENTIRELY. This gives the player(s) a bit of breathing room to get themselves established - so that when the player reaches the open ocean in either an AI-crewed (or player-crewed) Brig or Schooner (or something larger, provided they can acquire the resources from the starter zone/immediate zones) they at least have a chance to defend themselves if they're unable to avoid the ship. I would also recommend, especially for Single Player - but could also work very well in both an Official and Unofficial setting, that SotD only spawn in the regions containing, and immediately surrounding, the Stones of Power locales. 2 - Wild Pirates. This is not a negative, this is actually a commendation. I actually very much applaud of the addition of these AI pirates from not only a Single Player perspective but also from a PvE and PvP perspective. It gives PvE something to fight against on the sea (aside from SotD) and gives the PvPers something to practice against. From a Single Player perspective it implies that the player is trying to establish their own pirate empire. The map also advises the player on just how powerful the Wild Pirates are in the zones/regions before you enter them - so the player can make an informed decision about entering the zone. 3 - Stupidly high temperatures An island with an ambient temperature of 63 degrees. That's hotter than Dubai on a hot day. In fact, that's 7 degrees hotter than the highest recorded temperature. And these temperatures kill players trying to level. Not even swimming in the ocean works at these temperatures. Either a global temperature adjustment, or a command line/slider to manage how high (and also low) temperatures get. 4 - Blackwood This map was intended to be the ideal answer for small multiplayer servers and Single Player. After exploring the map and reading comments regarding Blackwood on Steam (I've not read the comments here) it is apparent that the upkeep of the map has been abandoned. Certain trees are missing textures, it's missing certain resources and certain spawns are tricky to find. At the very least, I would encourage an update to Blackwood to ensure that those who play on the map have access to the same content as the multiplayer game in a much more condensed size. This would also suit smaller multiplayer servers. However I do have an alternate suggestion: 5 - New Map: The New World A map with the same overall size as Blackwood, but modelled after the real world - much like what the multiplayer ATLAS is doing, but on a more compressed scale. Players start in the Caribbean freeport and the Americas on the western side of the map - with the expansive "Atlantic Ocean" (containing the Kraken's Maw - and 'Atlantis' in the depths) between them and Europe, Africa (and perhaps even a representation of Asia and Australia, if it would fit) on the eastern side with the polar caps hosting icy zones representing the Arctic and Antarctic regions at the top and bottom of the map. Where possible animals would be assigned to spawn on their respective land masses/biomes (i.e. Lions, Elephants and Giraffes in Africa, Wolves in the Americas and Europe, etc.). The Stones of Power can be spread throughout the world (such as ruins in South America and Africa, hidden away in ruined castles in Europe, etc) which encourages the player (or players) to sail and explore - to tame specific creatures they would need to head to specific biomes (which, with the ability to utilise the new 'tame transporter' ship, can be great to showcase what is possible in ATLAS). It would also give players several distinct choices on where to live (the Americas, Caribbean, Europe, the Mediterranean or Africa - or the north/south pole as they choose). This map would also include the necessary resources and requirements for end-game content (such as Atlantean ruins), and need to be able to be expanded upon (in terms of catering to future content). As referenced above regarding SotD, SotD would only spawn in certain regions, though especially in the oceans adjacent to Stones of Power and surrounding the Kraken's Maw - meaning a player or players can go 'hunting' for them with only a very minor chance of them appearing elsewhere - and certainly not as soon as you exit the starter zone. 6 - Gold This is more specific to Single Player, but more ways to find/earn gold would be a great addition. As Single Players *need* gold to manage the larger, more capable ships - even to use a Sloop to get off the starter island - one could find themselves essentially bottlenecked trying to find enough gold to afford a crew. I have no issue with the cost of AI crew, or their cost of retention, but coming up with the gold to pay for them to begin with was quite challenging. In my playthrough, very few bits of flotsam spawned in the starter area and I found myself having to use a raft (after already buying and prepping the ill-fated Sloop) to head out into the adjacent, more dangerous zone, to look for flotsam - to then head back to the starter area in order to get myself a crew. In SP, I suppose I am not penalised for staying on the starter island (with the exception of not having access to metal) so this might not be seen as much of an issue, but in a multiplayer setting - you don't necessarily want your players to base out of the starter island: you want them to leave and explore the larger ATLAS world (hence why there is now no metal on the starter islands). Even if, in SP specifically, one of the vendors in the freeport bought a stack of wood, thatch or stone for 1 gold. It's a lot of work (rates notwithstanding) for little gain but if a player is struggling and they're prepared to put in the effort, they can afford to get off the island with a crewed Sloop, leaving the starter zone behind them (though I would still return myself, especially if I was hosting a non-dedicated session with a friend - or if it was a private server). =CONCLUSION= Overall, I did find that ATLAS had fewer, less obvious bugs than when I last played - so it has clearly had some TLC applied. During my 5 or so hours getting reacquainted, I had no trouble with the way leveling now works, or the introduction to progression. I can not, obviously, speak to the balance of the wider multiplayer game as I personally would not seek to play ATLAS on such a scale - as I play with a small, close group of friends. From what I've been able to observe and achieve in my time, there is no issue with how things progress (with the exception of SotD and extremely high temps). If the 6 main points above were to be addressed and/or achieved this would put ATLAS in good stead when it comes out of Early Access. If "v1.0" does not contain methods to address or fix the issues listed above, the game cannot be considered "out of Early Access" when features it has had since EA launch do not function as intended across all game modes. Thank you for reading.
  6. Thank you for the info. We are noticing the bugs out there. Still havent seen any sharks since that one encounter. Enemy ships are out there but not often. But today when we logged in ALL of our ships and beds somehow got "removed" from the company in our log. But all the beds and ships are at our base, we just cant spawn on them anymore. Know anything about this? Super weird and frustrating. I am looking into it now!
  7. Yeah, you are getting into the nitty gritty now. The frustration will happen soon. 3 years ago I was arguing with people just like you. I totally get that you like the game and I don’t fault you for it. things will start to change. There were over 100 people that always stood up for the game and/or the devs years ago. They are all gone now. They didn’t like me very much but I was just talking realistically. I’ll try not to argue with you anymore. I have seen it too many times already.
  8. What's putting me off Atlas more than anything, isn't so much more modular pre fab ships, it's how bad they look. They don't resemble real ships from the golden age of Pyracy barely at all. There's hardly any decoration and they look like floating boxes with no streamlined shape or form.(I wont even mention the trireme in detail) If all ships are gonna end up this way in the future then I think most of the older loyal players will be gone. And tbh I don't see them getting many new players either. When you consider all the source material available for old galleons and brigs and ships of the line etc it makes me wonder if they even bother looking. It was bad enough when people were building their own floating boxes , but at least they were doing it for a reason. It seems like Atlas has become a boiling sea of ideas with no clear single destination. That's what happens when too many people try to steer a project. You end up with a disjointed mess.YOUR PRE FAB SHIPS LOOK LIKE FLOATING GARDEN SHEDS. I have honestly seen better ships drawn in story books about Noahs Ark. Seriously Devs, take the criticism now, before it's too late. Cos if another Pyrate based game gets released that's even slightly better , you'll be sunk.
  9. Except there is still going to be a million updates. That is how they do things lol. It’s all good new guy. You will find out soon. Plenty of white knights on here for years now and they are end up just as pissed off as everyone. Seen it plenty of times these last three years lmao Damn man. I had a good long laugh on this one. Kudos! yeah he will be pissed off like everyone else before him sooner or later lol
  10. Is it possible to refund? I want my money back...never happened that I spend money on game that I cannot play at all...I understand it's early access and there might be bugs and some other issues...but that I buy a game and cannot play it all because there are no servers is a f***** Joke....that's the biggest scam I've ever seen....take this game out of the store and protect the players!!!
  11. Do you mean a solo player can't have an island? A solo player really shouldn't have a full island. But you can/should claim a section of beach to build a base on. As far as a new player... the servers were just wiped, we are all new players starting out fresh. If you are saying you can't find a section of beach to claim... you're just not looking because the islands are not full. However, Atlas can be hard from a knowledge point of view if you're just starting out. True! Knowledge is power here. What is possible... running solo, since the wipe, I've built a gally, brig, 2 bases, 2 markets, a few bears, and have +100k gold. Point being it not about what's possible. Xbox? Don't know anything about Xbox. Atlas is running great for a change on PC. No long load times, no crashing, no losing bears crossing grid, little to no lag. I've never seen Atlas run so good. Wow! Did I really just say that? Maybe the new replacement devs are better than the old ones. Now if they stop with the cats in hats and make content people really want.... P.s. Yes, the old boat are 5 times more data heavy but the new ships suck 5 times harder. I don't want one. Just my opinion. P.s. And the ship pay wall just moved the cost from one place to another. You need the ship to make the money... need the money to make the ship. Or, do lots of un-fun grinding. It's like the chicken and the egg with neither coming first. Free may not be right. I don't want to see 100s of parked boats again. Maybe 1k Sch. 5k Brig, 20k Gally.
  12. Has anyone been able to find out any information at all? Nothing on twitter, fb, or any other site. I’ve played ark and I’ve seen servers go down but we’re working on 18 hours that seems a bit absurd.
  13. What console are you on? im on a series S and last night it became fully unplayable. Kicks me out as soon as I get in for the 1 in 100 attempts to connect. three mates who I’m playing with all on series X with no issue. Saw something about a memory leak issue on series s but can’t find the original message. Ahh just seen the topic name. Yeah okay. Game is screwed and unplayable on series S. brilliant. No wonder it was on sale
  14. Yes it is supposed to be food. They have seen it happen with my boat. On the other hand I have seen it not work for other people as well so it is probably another busted mechanic.
  15. Wow, the is the best description of the game I have ever seen. Wish I could give 1000 likes to this post
  16. So, I am playing in the PvP server and I have a small wood base setup on the back end on and island with a large company opposite me. They have remained neutral to me and vice versa however I have suffered raids from multiple other company's. What I would like to know is if a feature can be added for me to make contact with a company that does not entail sneaking into there base (could be seen as aggression) and leaving a note in a lock box asking toward cooperation. Something like an interstitial message that I can send from my company to theirs that will contain a brief outline and then full message if they read it. Allowing playing who are on at different times to join alliance.
  17. And they will be idiots and take days off work for the wipe lmao always happens. Between this and ark I have seen over 50 people complaining they missed the deadline and that they took time of work. SMH
  18. Yeah I agree. Either that or they should have made it an ark expansion like they were going to do at first. Greed came into play and they realized they could pass off a copy and paste to be able to charge more money. who knows what the new devs might do but the one thing we do know for sure is that the old dev company was not only very corrupt but also very unethical and unprofessional. That we do know as we have seen for the last 3 years.
  19. Can you stop doing shit in the game. Such a short session is something never seen before. Now I'm a game tester and I don't get paid for it. I PAY THE GAME, them I want to play!!!
  20. First off, I agree with many here that believe that we need solutions to the current issues within the game (some persisting from day one, if not even earlier) before creating new potential problems. Or perhaps the intention is to fix all once changes are finalized. The latter course, in my honest opinion, is a certain path to the utter death of this game as many players have already "abandoned ship" because of these alone. The fluctuation of functionality in the maps are of most prevalent concern. Another major point of note is the inability of a great many non-pc players (myself included most recently) to actually participate in the game due to issues specific to console, and of which not even powerful next gen consoles seem immune. This brings me to the crux of this post, crossplay. I've seen quite a few posts from the console gaming community (as, I'm sure, have you all) complaining about putting countless hours into the game only to find they are suddenly unable to play because someone on pc with superior graphics and processing capabilities decided to build a game crashing super structure right next door, or a "lag trap" at the shore of an island which again crashes the game and allows the destruction of their ship without any chance whatsoever for a console player to defend themselves or evade the onslaught. I fully realize that not all pc players utilize this advantage, and to them I'm grateful. Many more, however, happily use that advantage to easily profit from the ever dwindling console community. These players are why I propose for the purposes of fair and more even gaming the separation of pc and console gaming by way of crossplay being either limited to a specific server or eliminated altogether.
  21. *Nathan, I'm sorry...* If only I hadn't been so foolish, maybe things would have been different. Like a moth to a flame, I followed the destinations laid out in the journal, enamored by the thought of new discovery. From the night I found my brother lying dead on the beach and the narrow escape from the figures in black cloaks, I had sided with destiny to determine my fate and thrown precaution to the wind. And now, in a raging tempest in uncharted waters, hunted by those I eluded before, the journey is now over as our small ship sails directly into a mythical disc described in the journal. With nearly the entire ship lost behind this circular veil, I accepted my fate and closed my eyes as the ominous disc swept over me. ... ... A breath... and then another. "Does one still draw breath in the afterlife?" I pondered. ... Wherever I was, I could no longer feel the rain pouring down on me and to my surprise, a warm breeze began to brush across my face. I could sense I was still being supported by the same hard surface, although less turbulent than it was moments ago. I turned flat on my back, face toward the heavens, and listened to my breath as I slowly opened my eyes. The storm clouds had disappeared to reveal the night sky, stars twinkling brightly although in a different configuration than I previously remembered. The journal was true. Exhausted and relieved, I closed my eyes again and fell into a deep slumber. And in that sleep, whether due to the extreme circumstances preceding or just coincidence, I had one of the most vivid dreams that I still remember to this day. “Sand, heat, and the savage sun beat down on me as I crossed the shifting ground of this god forsaken island. Why anyone would build a structure here is beyond me, as humans would have a hard time living here. It’s so hot. Just as I stop to rest under the shade of a palm and have a sip of water, I notice that the light is beginning to dim. It is mid afternoon, it shouldn’t be getting dark yet. I look up to see if a cloud has blocked the sun, wouldn’t that be a gift from god...but am greeted by a sight I will never forget. The sun was being eclipsed as I watched. A dim shade of orange was all that was left to light the land. I stumbled to my feet, intending to climb to the top of the nearest dune to get a better view of the island in this light. As I passed the crest of the dune a second sight took my breath away. I was looking down at a massive Pyramid. It had to be bigger than the great pyramids in Egypt! There was a smaller pyramid about the same size as one of the monumental temples the Cursed Pirates built, sitting at the base of the dune I was one. I approached cautiously, right up to the smaller pyramid. It had a large doorway that led to a stairway down into darkness. There didn’t seem to be anyone around, so I lit a torch and descended into the darkness. I walked for what seemed like days in complete darkness, finally seeing light ahead I discarded the torch in favor of secrecy. The room I entered was massive. Large statues of pure gold lined the walls, a pool of crystal clear water in the center and a massive throne at one end. Doors led off of this room to the left and right, but before I could investigate them I heard a noise from behind the throne. Peering around it I found myself looking into another massive room filled with treasure. Moving around the treasure piles were cursed pirates! What are they doing here? My shock must have made me stumble, because I was suddenly on the ground coughing. Looking up, I found myself staring directly into the eyes of a pirate. I ran for it. I have never run that fast in my life, dropping everything I was carrying except for my journal! I didn’t stop running until I had left the entry tunnel and made it back to the top of the sand dune. I looked back to marvel at the Wonder of this Great Pyramid, before turning back towards my Sloop and that safety and freedom only the horizon can bring.” "Wakey wakey little thief!" Jolted from my sleep, I was met by the contents of a large bucket of what I could only assume was seawater thrown in my face. I quickly scanned before me as I gasped my air from the shock. I had been sat up against the wall of the cabin, hands and feet shackled away unable to clear the generous welcome gift from my face. In front of me stood four figures, three of them in black cloaks and in the center, was a rather large figure in black jacket with his back turned toward me. Before I could muster a reply, a wave of nauseousness struck me and instinctively I turned to the side and began to vomit. "Don't be embarrassed," the man in the black jacket stated as I continued to spill what little contents I had onto the deck. "That's just the portal sickness. Turns out the human body doesn't take too kindly to being disassembled and reassembled hundreds of miles away." As he spoke, he turned his head slightly back at me. "Vomiting, blurred vision, nasty runs... but it gets easier, ya know. Not like you'll be around much longer to find comfort in that, so you'll have to take my word for it." In a brief moment, although hidden behind a black bandana wrapped around to lower part of his head, I thought I saw a wily smile form from the side of his face. "Who... are you?" I managed to cough out just before the heave in my stomach keeled me over, forcing me to regurgitate my insides one again. "Who am I?" he repeated. "Why ask what you already know?" He then revealed the journal in his right hand and held it up for display. My eyes darted down to my chest to confirm what had been so close to me during my travels now belonged to him. "You've made a lot of progress, deciphering most of the entries," he continued as he began sifting through the pages. "A commendable but wasted effort, especially to die here." He then snapped the journal shut. "I see you've read about my crew so I guess we no longer have to keep up the charade." With a motion of his hand, the three cloaked in black lowered their hoods. Horrified, three ghastly faces emerged, human but cold and void of any healthy color. In that moment, I realized the dream I had was actually an imagining of one of the entries of the journal and before me was the true incarnation of the cursed pirates. My heart sank with the realization that I had been chasing a fairy tail, dreams and delusions of grandeur but now it had very much become a living nightmare. "Now," the black jacketed figure interrupted, breaking my mental spiral. "who you are is of little consequence to me but before I kill you I would like to know why. Why would anyone foolish enough to steal from me be willing to come back to its source?" "My brother," I sighed, head bowed in resignation. "He had your journal in his possession when he died, that and this stupid red bandana." "So you did all this for him?" he replied. "Risking your life and chasing ghost stories for what?" "Initially, it was for me," I confessed as if airing my final sins on my deathbed. "When he sent me a letter of his promising new discovery, these Wonders, I was filled with a new excitement that I hadn't felt since I first ventured out to sea so many years ago. But when I saw him lying on that beach dead clutching to the pages that were supposed to bring us together, I realized what he had wanted all along. I was never the best brother. He would play pranks for my attention and when I left the sea originally, it was he who took my place. All he wanted was to go on an adventure together, like we would when we were kids. And so, for him, I hoped to take this journey and see it through." I buried my head further and began to weep. The man in the black jacket turned around and slowly walked towards me. Under the brim of his cap, his eyes dead and skin as cold as the others. He kneeled down and looked me right in the eyes. "Mother always said you were the sentimental type," he answered. "Shame I only got to see it after I died." With that he lowered the bandana from his upper lip and to my shock, it was my brother, Nathan. Stunned, I could not fathom the hundreds of thoughts I had in that moment and simply closed my eyes, my forehead on to his. "It was very thoughtful of you to come all this way to return my stuff to me, Matthew," he spoke. "But you shouldn't have taken them in the first place." "How?" I questioned. "We are cursed, brother," he answered. "Me and my crew. We entered that Wonder I wrote of in my journal and took which was not ours. We had just returned with the spoils to La Noferia, unknowing of our affliction, when I sent for you. Within a week, the others had passed, yet I held on until a few days before you arrived. I set out to that secluded cabin, hoping you would be the only one to find me there. I died protecting this journal. The next thing I remember, I awoke in total darkness confined in a box, not knowing if the utter nothingness was truly hell." As he spoke, he unwrapped the bandana around my neck and began to fasten it around his face, covering his lips, mouth, and chin, almost like a red beard. "Who knows how long I was in that coffin before they dug me out," he continued. "I was lucky, Perry was first and had to dig himself out." He pointed to one of the formerly cloaked pirates and he in turn replied with a nod. Nathan then helped me to my feet and began to undo the shackles. "They told me of a person who had taken my belongings, including the journal and my bandana. We resolved to have them chase the thief while I attempted to return here and right our wrongs. I never thought it would be you to set off and make your way here, make your way to me. Alas, shortly before you arrived through the portal, we still are unable to find a solution." As I stood, no longer obstructed by my brother's crew, I finally laid my eyes on the giant monument, the wonder that he had written of. We were just off shore and yet it loomed large in the sky. A marvel of ingenuity and splendor, it was like nothing I had ever seen before. "Well," as I began to rub my wrists, easing the previous strain of the shackles. "...come with me then. Surely, someone should be able to help us find you a remedy." With that said, I placed my hand on his shoulder and smiled, grateful to see my brother standing in front of me. "It is not that easy," he responded as brushed my hand off his shoulder. "...our minds are becoming more dull by the second. Percy is already unable to speak anymore. I'm afraid we are slowly losing our abilities to speak, act, or even to think of our own free will. While our independence diminishes, the Wonder's calls to us grow louder. Instinctually, we are finding it harder and harder to resist the powers within the Wonder. We are soon to become the servants of the Wonder and bound to protec... ugh." Nathan winced and grabbed his head. "You must go, I fear what might happen once we turn," he ordered as he signaled to his crew. "Wake your captain and use these to return through the portal." His crewmates present a few relics from their hands and offer them to me. "No, I won't lose you again Nathan," I reply as I shove their offerings away. Nathan had already turned to disembark. Catching up to him as he grabbed the rope ladder to ascend to their ship, I grabbed him by the shoulder. "You found me once Matthew," he stated. "There are other Wonders in these pages, maybe one has a solution to all this mess." With that, he handed me the journal to protect once again. "You were always better at hide and seek. Come find me again, just look for the stupid red bandana." A sudden pain shot up from my gut as Nathan kicked me and sent me to the deck. He began to climb as I sat in pain, finally reaching the rail and disappearing over. The sails dropped and the ship began to sail off. And as it reached the horizon, I swore I saw brightly colored bandana being waved as it moved out of sight. Wipe Incoming We are pleased to announce our Wonders patch will complete in two weeks with the introduction of the Great Pyramid as the first wonder for the season. We understand, due to various issues, that many have not had the best opportunities to get sufficiently prepared for the upcoming Wonder and so, we will be doing a full wipe when the patch drops in two weeks. Public PTR Access As an added bonus, we will be opening up the Public Test Realm (PTR) to the public starting today. This will be open to everyone with a Steam copy of the game until the patch drops. In your library in Steam, right-click Atlas and select “Properties” From the tabs on the left, select “BETAS” From the drop down in the center, select “test2021 - recruit testers” In the beta access code section, enter “PathfinderLifeForMe” You will then download the PTR build and will be able to access the game once that is completed. Reminder: You will have to switch back to “None” in the BETAS tab to return back to the live servers. We request you continue to help us make this the best release possible by reporting any PTR issues on our Discord channel. Please be sure to specify any issue you find is marked as “PTR Issue” when submitting. Final Note Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted. Features and changes that ultimately make it to the next patch, as well as timing, may be different from what was previously discussed. 23. Man, I have seen salt before but damn you whine a lot. I get it, you wanted atlas to be even mediocre let alone good instead of a worthless failure, we can’t even call this thing a dumpster fire anymore lol. things don’t happen the way you want them to. Welcome to the real world son. I don’t blame you to be honest.
  24. Recently I have been noticing that animals have just been disappearing off boats into the water. Just sailing in general and going through portals seem to be the worst. Recently I had one fall off, backtracked and picked him back up, started sailing again and a buddy jumped on him which teleported the animal and my buddy back to where the animal originally fell off. I remember in the past when they used to fly up into the sky and never be seen again but since then it really has not been a huge issue until now, I can not seem to keep them on my ship and its so frustrating. Would you please look into this
  25. Yep. You are not alone. I have seen 1000’s of people say somewhat the same thing as you. But you are right, atlas is a dumpster fire.
