  1. Hi all, this is all new stuff to us, but, we have a house boat, that we use as a mobile base. Every time I move the boat I kill the entire crew when they're offline! This is funny for me, but, one guy was moving a large sum of gold (overloaded with thousands), logged out, and after i moved the boat, he had been phased off the ship, been subsequently eaten by any number of sealife, and when he eventually logged back in, had already lost his stuff and enormous amounts of gold... Is this customary? To not move with the boat when logged off inside a boat? Unless i'm going stark raving mad, it happens every time the boat is moved, and the entire crew dies. Not overly immersive I must say! Does it happen to anyone else here? We have taken now to stripping naked and dumping all our gear prior to logging off...
  2. In PvP absolutely, but in PvE, immune ships when anchored would make no difference to any gameplay balance. If you wanted to just ensure people can't cheese the mechanic, you could introduce a 5 minute timer, after which you are immune. I see no problems with it in PvE. I always said split PvP / PvE servers with their own balancing.
  3. It's certainly saved me a couple of times, when cash ran out on sloop and schooner, and the good old nearby brig kept everyone fed and paid.. Silly work. How dare real life get in the way of my crew's well being Learning from that, the brig is now center anchor, other boats crowd around it in the event i'm away on business for a few days and I forget to stock up... on thing I do wish was that the larder acted like a preserving bag fueled by salt. Shame food wastes away so fast in it. Love the resource box though. That's a nail on the head for me.
  4. LOL -- ok I'll take the bait. this game is completely wrong Wrong in what way? Saying something is wrong with no context is... a bit to ambiguous for me. it is like they tried to make and sell this game as quickly as possible all the mistakes they made clearly shows that Such as what? Ofc the game has it's mistakes and bad mechanics, and some things are just mind mindbogglingly daft, but over all, but I can see the potential! Going cliche, it is EARLY ACCESS, which means we're just glorified game and design testers for the players that sign up at release... It's our job to find the flaws! But in all fairness, it has to be a two way thing... right now it feels like feedback is just fart in a cat 5 tornado. So many game breaking exploits and mad mechanics do taint experience.. but all will be flat ironed sooner or later...
  5. You'll always get one .... the same guy that won £150m on the Euromillions or $1.5 billion on the US Powerball... Claiming it's easy and telling everyone else to learn to pick numbers. The fact that one person can do it, doesn't mean everyone else can lol. When so many people have the same issue, it does deserve some attention.
  6. I understand your point, and you're not wrong to a point. My real issue is being awarded something you're not able to carry. In a game where loot and treasure is the lure, it seems a bit... counter intuitive. Since now, we have changed tactic. In non lawless it doesn't work, but we build a storage box so overburdened loot, we can stash, and revisit as many times as needed to get the spoils back to the boat. One alternative solution is to have the treasure chest act like a personal storage box, where it's then up to the player to loot what they can carry and come back... not dumping ALL of it on you and making you 400% over weight limit with no warning.
  7. Unable to complete treasure maps. We kill all the guardians, and when try to dig the treasure, it says unable to as there are 2 guardians left........... like every time. Somewhere they are despawning and we are unable to fund them. This is every time.
  8. Please for the love of god, decrease the weight of coins? Just ran our first treasure hunt with a friend, got 1600 each stuffed in our inventories, unable to carry it all lost 2k of it. Do coins really need to weigh what they do? If so, why? What's the point in getting loot like this, if you can't carry it? You drop it and unable to pick it back up... we both sat there watching timer count down... until pop... 2k gone. Strange mechanic.
  9. For some reason unable to build them. Skill is trained, I can build everything else (that I tested) unable to build small storage box. Right click, build 1, nothing. double click, nothing. press 'e' to build, nothing. Just wanted to report it. Thanks.
  10. My holiday entitlement in 2018 was 42 days, and I work in Investment Management, i'm sure there are people with more than me still ! London here, so I guess the table above is not a myth lol. Even 3 weeks isn't enough.... I'm in Tokyo soon, I'll have to leave a gaming laptop with a buddy to just log in during the 3 weeks I'm there just so I don't lose my crap in game Silly devs discriminating against those who take family holidays
  11. We had a giant snake in the hull deck of our brig... now how the frack did that get there when all the doors were locked.... You have to love it
  12. What does happen to me though is, i'll be minding my own business, stripping some fibers with my scythe, quite peacefully, and an elephant will come up behind you and agro itself walking into you. It'll be the elephants prerogative then to kill you for attacking it. TROLLING I TELL YOU!
  13. never thought I'd say this, but the way Atlas is designed, renting servers suck. We rented plenty of Ark server time, but to get the full experience of atlas, a 2x2 or 4x4 just doesn't do it at all... Sailing is part of the fun, and long treks is part of it....... Official nailed it, but, to achieve immersion, you need BIG maps... and it just gets too expensive (unless you have LOTS of people chipping in for a > 10x10
  14. Lest we forget, that small companies, like us (we're a two man brigade), are able to build boats and run missions to. BUT, in lieu of the bugs, the hacks, the exploits, the griefing and bored players sinking PvE boats with impunity, the classic rules on the servers fail hard. An offline Brig kill will cause a giant ripple in eagerness to build another for example. Many of us 'smaller' players, were seldom able to get to the point where we actually fulfill the purpose of acting testers for this EA game. Impossible to provide feedback on map / treasure hunting, if all our boats are getting wrecked by players abusing a loophole / exploiting weight glitches to sink your boats at 3am the same day you build them. Something had to change, and many of these QOL changes are to make the game at least playable, when you don't have dozens of minions farming resources for you 24/7 so you can replace your brigs and galleons daily. The game has a long way to go before its ultimate spirit / philosophy is mature enough to take precedence over the needed softening of the tone of the game in ironing out an endless list of oversights / poorly planned and implemented game features. That said, with everything in place, and Jat & teams dedication to make it playable for EVERYONE, we're having a blast. It really works for us and will get better still. I still think PvE and PvP servers should have their own individual tuning and balancing so one doesn't affect the other to enhance gameplay.. but that's another thing entirely. We're on the right tracks, but I appreciate the bigger guys that have none of the issues us minnows experience will see things differently.
  15. not possible unless you have a 4km ladder... you'll otherwise have 150 chinese stuck bobbling and levitating on your brigs deck lol... screenshot time!
  16. I'd prefer materials to make a difference to the boat strength... so if you used soft wood to build your boat, then it'll be lighter, faster, but a lot less tanky.. but if you hard wood... then it'll be tougher, wood will be a bit denser, heavier, and be a bit more draggy in water. The materials are already differentiated... just needs utilised.
  17. I did both raiding prior and solo'd last season in WOW.. The most fun I had was soloing. Too much stress and pressure to keep jumping through the hoops and hurdles thrown at you by the devs and boss mechanics, which has to be done in a particular order, in a set way, and with a set level of gear. When something is that artificial and encounters are so blindly scripted with no 'intelligence' then it kills immersion. I prefer AI, I prefer autonomy, and I like the choice to not be locked out of game mechanics because I'm the only one that has a job that allows me to stay up until 2am on Atlas. Games are for fun, not a second job.
  18. Sounds like a hack-bodge rather than the real solution from devs
  19. Well, we had an alpha wolf eating our stuff THROUGH a wall last night, it killed my buddy whilst he used a smithy. In the end, we were in our building, and wolfy head was sticking through destroying everything it could get it's phased teeth into. So standing just out of reach, we both piked the idiot to death, through the wall. Two sides to a knife I guess. Would absolutely suck for tames to be killed like this though.. Wild animals should not SPAWN anywhere near structures though.
  20. This is one sure-fire way to ruin an otherwise good PvE experience. Feel sorry for the folks having to deal with this crap. Hope things are addressed asap. Keep up the tickets, keep up the reporting, capture video of the FPS spikes when having stuff hacked.... There must be a way to fight fire with fire. Anyone know where their primary bases are?
  21. Does anyone know what age you actually die? Has anyone actually died yet of old age? If so what happens? Do you just re-roll character? Do you keep any skill points? Do you lose your claims / assets? So many things I don't yet understand! I guess I'm wondering if 'fountain' is mandatory, or just a perk / worth it.
  22. Currently based in lawless, but after some pondering, we have a mobile base. Our two / three man company live on a Brig. It has everything we need. We keep enough supplies to make repairs, and have spare sails and planks... spare wheel, a kitchen, workshop, living quarters.. It's been quite a blast. We sail from island to island, seeking treasures, new foodstuffs... it's the life! Sure there's the old addage.. eggs > basket, but, if you have fun and enjoy that mobile life it's the nuts. Not sure being 'stuck' on an island with all the politics suits our game style Atlas for all its faults, allows this kind of fun, and fun it is! We have also done some trading with islanders. We have built up quite a stock, and seeds seem to be quite popular atm! And much to our surprise, EU PvE server is full of really friendly folks. Sometimes, they just put up with us mooring up off shore whilst we get on with things, other times they engage with conversations and we end up trading.. Gold is in short supply so always good to exchange! We then leave, and on to the next. Sooner or later we'll be killed off by a bug, or whale or something... But if anything was to change, i'd say reduce the number of Ships of the Damned... Crikey. (sorry, waffled!)
  23. Hi all a quick update from my side. It started working for me. Jat was on this earlier, and was chatting to a few of us across Steam. When I logged in on different Atlas, and chose EU PVE (where my char was) it put me straight in, and was again able to play normally. Hopefully it works for everyone as to.
  24. Jat is looking into this at the moment see other threads for update
  25. Hi Jat, confirmed on EU PvE stuck on PrimalGameData_BP when loading in.
