  1. Tame with a bear out in the open. I hate using taming pens anymore. Lot of aggressive creatures? Do it with someone else on a tame to protect you.
  2. I agree with a 5 minute timer or so. Beds must be destroyed and all defenders cleared from the ship. Slap a claim flag down with a 5 minute timer. Maybe multiple ships in area fighting and the other side can attempt to take the ship back. Could make for some interesting fights. Question is.....do we let the victors rename the ship?
  3. This game still needs plenty of client and server optimizations and it seems this game is heavier on the cpu side of things than gpu. I am running a I7-3770k, 16gb ram, and a 1080ti. I got my best performance boost from OC'ing my cpu from factory turbo 3.8ghz to 4.2ghz. Going from a GTX970 to a 1080ti did not help as much as I thought it would. Rest of my games scream now due to that gpu upgrade though.
  4. Problem now is people who voted previously cannot vote again. I am locked out so even if I wanted to change my vote I could not.
  5. Haha that is one part of the game I HATE. Foundation spam is ugly and annoying. Unfortunately its somewhat necessary due to how the game works. Hrm idea. What if Lawless used the old claim system? Make it a hybrid colonies. Territories like K7 you claim entire islands and have raid windows. Lawless uses claim flags (land only) that claim small areas on an island and they are claimable/raidable 24/7. You claim it only you can build in it. If some wants to build there they have to take your claim. This should prevent some of the foundation spam, allow people to control areas in lawless, but also allow the 24/7 raiding we are accustomed to for these areas. ie lawless.
  6. I got the notification so I assumed I did. I guess I need to check. If a few people confirm then post this in the bug section so the devs see it.
  7. General forums are usually general in nature and are for everything from talking about the weather to posting funny screen caps from the game. If you want to be more specific then use the PvE subforum. It seems to me a lot of people in these forums are not using them as intended which causes issues. A good example is people posting bugs in General when those belong in the Bugs subforum. Then later people bitch their bug was not fixed or looked at.
  8. Take a look at the empires server population. Most people wanted the server rules in use on colonies including megas. The only one they did not want was the pop cap change. One of two things will happen. Company cap will be increased when Empires is deemed a failure which it will I am sure OR you will continue seeing megas skirting the rules put in place.
  9. Thats why we set it at 50%. Its a sign saying stay away. After we setup we'll drop it and advertise that new tenants are welcome.
  10. I honestly know very little about this mechanic. From what I understand is you can put this anywhere including Freeports....if they fixed the Freeport building issue. I believe you have to put the product on the vendor and set the price. I do not believe there is upkeep....could be wrong. I am curious as to how easily these can be destroyed if they are in Lawless or on claimed land. I do not like it. I heard they were adding a market I thought it was going to be a centralized market like WoW, Eve, insert other game that uses on here. I thought this would be a single NPC we all deal with. If the devs want to make it cool the should add a market area filled with tents in the Freeports with several market vendors selling different categories. Maybe break the mats down into categories. Separate by type of biome it comes from. Lot of options there. I'd like to see that, but if they want to keep it more regional then add a Vendor at each Freeport similar to Eve. Want to buy/sell something you go to a Freeport and and do business there. Any products placed on this vendor are only purchasable at the vendor. This could make moving resources that are rare in that area more desirable and encourage people to move large amounts of goods further away thus allowing for more shenanigans on the high seas. Higher risk higher profit. Sure that can happen now, but if everyone has separate vendors its going to be a real pain in the ass and be very unorganized. Imagine going to a Freeport and seeing 500 vendors setup and searching through them all to find that one thing you are missing. Ugh.
  11. I thought you had to pay every 10-12 hours or so. So if you paid say 150 gold for the initial claim you need another 150 on there in 10-12 hours (whats the timer I forget?) and that will repeat until you lose the claim due to defaulting on the payment or someone else claiming it.
  12. Our zone had 140 in it last night. Good fights over the islands. A lot of my company returned and more are returning this weekend.
  13. Bump: Good question. I don't know and would be curious as to how this mechanic works.
  14. I don't know of any pretty way to do this besides building foundation pieces all around then walls/fences on top of them. Blocks those gaps and produces a more even structure.
  15. I would post this in the bug report section as well. Let the devs see it and possibly get a response with a work around. In the meantime try the usual steps. Reboot PC, verify game files, etc.
  16. The reasons I heard for the wipe seemed more then necessary. You'll never convince me that this wipe was not necessary and that you not knowing this was going to happen during testing of this game gives you a green light to bitch and moan over lost pixels.
  17. My phone autocorrected sleazy. My bad. As to no warning we have known for weeks. If you are referring to when you purchased that game chalk it up to your ignorance on game development and move on. Lesson learned. WINTER THORNE. I'll agree there. It is what it is. Management wise these guys need a real professional running the show. As it stands now they have someone who has no business being in their position running things. It shows on a daily basis. They only survive off of their ability to do things not many in this world can do. If this were most other fields in the business world they wouldn't have a company anymore. Whatevs. I don't think its worth putting much energy into.
  18. I'm sure there are 1 or 2 other people who feel the same way.
  19. Lot of people bought this game and expected it to be static. It shows by the comments. Until you know the technical hurdles and business related reasons they discussed you behind closed doors you cannot call them lazy. They wiped. Expect more wipes. End of story.
  20. @ChucksteakI disagree a ton with that last part. I agree its a crutch to an extent, but it also allows people the flexibility to do things on their own and allows a good captain to dominate the seas even when heavily outnumbered. I know a couple really small companies with really good captains. They cannot field enough people on a brig if NPC's were not a thing. I'd be sad to see that go and force them to stay on land of join another company. In regards to the last part I've seen good captains take common ships up against masterwork/legendary brigs and galleons and sink them solo. I've seen good captains take on twice as many ships and win. I consider myself average at best and know when I am against a good captain. Even when I am faster its hard to get consistent shots to land on them as they never allow you in range to consistently land shots. Also they are always pushing you into the wind. Try to take that away and they break off forcing you to chase and they slowly push you into the wind again. Get impatient on them and you eat several volleys and have to break off to repair. Its a chess match out there when people know what they are doing.
  21. The challenge is at a different level. You can run solo, small company, medium, large whatever. Each has its own challenges and each has its own measurements for success. The beauty of games like this is we determine this. We make the choices. I like a company that can compete at all levels. Mine allows us the flexibility to do this so I have more options.
  22. Parrots saying "Ricky" over and over again. If my name was Ricky I would be super creeped out.
  23. I am using this sale as a chance to sell some buddies on the game. all of them are interested, but have been scared off by the price/reviews. One buddy tried it the opening weekend when it was a shit show. He lasted 30 minutes and got a refund.
  24. Damn I just bought a second account last Friday. Should have waited.
