  1. Well with new Xbox series X there is so many new players out there that started after the wipe... and they all pay x2-3 more than the PC Players have to pay. So i don't think they will stop this game as long it is one of the most exiting titles for the console players who only watch the trailer. The 1x warehouse + market was added for the PVE comunity. On Pvp it was not needed beacuse no issue. Also new map is focussed on PVE because there are much less claimable islands. Claim Towers do not give you any Peacetime protection. Players in the lawless PvP areas will suffer a lot as the large PvP companys finish their islands building, defense and harbor structures. Large companys will set up trading routes for all resources and who ever things it's a good idea to destroy those will probably regret this. Good luck fighting with Lvl 10-20 bears against Breeded base Lvl 70-80+ horses/Tigers etc. that are ready soon. Issue about the farmhouse nerf i explained in another topic... there are basically 3 reasons why they did this. But the consequence is visible every where. PVE Players have to farm themselves again.(Like PvP too) Gold income is reduced beacuse there are less resources available for trades but you may not get buffer overflow issue anymore. Also Devs who created lumberjard, querry and mine are happy because players build those now. There are less (now useless)farms around which makes islands look much better.
  2. I wouldn’t listen to anyone else if I were you. Doesn’t matter how easy it is to get gold. It should either cost gold or resources. Not both. Very idiotic idea the devs had but then again they have have plenty of idiotic ideas.
  3. I've got 5K for schooner and 10k more in just 3 days, doing lvl-5 - lvl-13 treasures with wild-lvl-28 bear I tamed. And I think I'm the only one who likes the idea of putting efforts to your ships (meaning I like the idea of gold cost for ships).
  4. Hi. Since the Trade Winds update, I have been experiencing a rather annoying bug, which is making part of the game quite difficult to play (Xbox Series X). When I sail through a grid border and arrive in the next grid, my NPCs manning the sails are removed from their positions. I find them standing up against the masts. When I go to them and open the command wheel I get no option for them to man any sails. Furthermore, if I whistle for them to follow me, they will run right past me and congregate in the centre of the ship. Furthermore, with the NPCs removed from the sails, I cannot slow or stop the ship. Oddly enough I can whistle for the sails to close, and they do, even though the NPCs are not manning them. However, the ship refuses to stop. I have discovered this work around to stop the ship and to be able to have the man sails command reappear in the command radial wheel. I simply log out and back in again. Now when I approach the NPCs I get the man sails command reappear, and the ship will stop. If the NPC is near an unmanned sail, I can use the man sail command now, and he dutifully will man the sail. However, if there are any sails that are not near the middle of the ship, say the forward-most sails on a galleon, I cannot get the NPC to follow me to that sail, as they refuse to move away from the centre of the ship, even with lowest follow range selected. I have found a work around for this too. If I have the NPC follow me and I jump over the side into the sea, the NPC will follow me. I then swim alongside the ship until I am below the mast I want the NPC to man. I can then face them and get them to man the sail by calling up their man sail command in the radial. If I jump into the sea with a NPC following me, and I then climb back onto the ship with the NPC still following, he too will climb back onboard, but then immediately run to the centre of the ship and remain there. I am wondering if this behaviour has anything to do with the fact that we can now get water creatures to follow the ship. I have found nothing elsewhere that suggests others are experiencing this too. Are there any other players out there with this same bug? I have submitted a report via the reporting system, but unfortunately you never hear back from them, so I have no idea if they received it, if they know of the bug, or if they are working on it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
  5. I have been struggling with intense lag issues with the Trade Wind update. Ironically the problem has manifested both in the Grid editor AND in game. 1) Grid editor gets progressively laggy to the point of unusable as you add trade wind paths. This is probably some kind of coding problem I have no idea how to fix. You start to notice the lag after adding about 3 trade wind paths. 2) In game some trade wind paths have Visible Arrows and wind symbols in the sky ABOVE the trade wind path itself. These arrows cause MASSIVE lag I know they are hard to see in this image but if u look close u can see them. I have tried multiple settings changes and changed graphics settings from lowest to epic no difference. My fps drops from 60-80 to less than 10. It is only while "looking" at them so I know they are the problem but I cannot find any commonality on why they appear on some trade wind paths and not others. Also, it is anyone who sees them not just myself. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open. UPDATE: This is caused by the spyglass, to get rid of the lag u have to 1) remove spyglass from your hotbar AND relog or change grids. If you don't LOOK at the floating markers the lag is less so u could remove spyglass and either bed port out and in or sail.
  6. @George Catcher thank you for this very good conclusion of the system working on PVE server. So I guess limit of one warehouse per island was a step by the Devs to consider PVE a little bit. I test things on PvP this time and there the players face some other issues. PvP Players trade with themselfes so they need now 3-4 islands to have markets connected and get decent gold income. So all large tribes try to own a complete grid with all islands and even spread into lawless if next to it. Also there are only few claimable grids left. But luckyly it looks like there are not that much players like Maelstorm map start.(Season 4) To have the maximum effect of farms over the complete islands connected to warehouses the companys need settler companys. 1 farm + 1 warehouse/market for each company is still a great idea for PVE if the one farm can gather all resources on the island no matter where it is placed. But this could be also a point some players may not agree to. On PvP Players would do everything what is possible to max out the income they can passively generate by any abuse of the system they can find. So the mindsets of both Player groups are very different just divided by the fact that one live in peace and the others can have war/destruction all day. So as long Devs try to keep the game only as 1 setting they face the issue that their systems can't fit to both playstyles.
  7. When you will understand or learn from your mistakes? Why in pve there is no limit from building (gathering machineries or structure components) . Each company should have only one machine from each type, and it should be a limit with building components. You are not giving us a chance to alliance or trade, with unlimited strategy companies don't need each others. They will have unlimited resources (for who play first days after each wipe only) Can you imagine that, in same island we trade fibers with woods? or metal with thatch and wood? If its unlimited, other players will not have a chance to join the game after 3 months. Just after 6 hours from last wipe, players keep building machines randomly every where, they build machinery close to me. How i supposed to build one, i don't wanna to be with claim in lawless islands. I keep sailing to 12 islands i cannot find a place to build. I'm not gonna sail all around the world to find a place to place my gathering machine or build a base. Still the game is for who will start playing from beginning after last wipe, so after 3 months there is no place for new players. Idea for your achievements when game will release; I Delete The Game. 350 Points Take your last patch paper works, roll it and push it twice then smell it..
  8. The module point system is currently bugged, I was only able to place a Diving Attachment (1 point), and 3 Cannon Rails (9 points), before it said I was out of points. I'm no math wiz but last time I checked 1+3+3+3 is not 40. The problem seems to be the game thinks a fresh Kraken ship is starting with 30 points already filled. Personally I think you should do away with the point system and just let people attach what they want. Also the Kraken would only let me attach a diving attachment at one spot and nowhere else. I haven't had time to test other attachments on the Kraken. Anyway, I like the idea of the module system but the execution needs work.
  9. im new. i dont have a hundred hours yet and i started playing like 3 weeks ago or so and not many people have been on NA cause they were convinced wipe was soon so i haven't been able to find a mega company :[. iv been looking for experienced players on pvp to play with though. i haven't found a company that deep into the game yet where one person does x skill and another does that. mostly the companys i ran into and played with have been small groups of casuals (that aren't aware that they are in fact casuals) they think they know whats up but they have inactive people dont talk on discord or make plans dont try to land grab and they are all spread out to different lawless islands instead of all being in one spot and trying to grab as much of 1 lawless and then expanding to real land. i didn't even know discoveries raised your max lvl. kind of a weird mechanic. course that can be played around if you have a company that is willing to send groups of people on treasure hunts together that are prepared with a decent ship. can get some discoveries from other lawless and hopefully not get gunned down by puckles, but like i said they are too casual and socially inept to do that. they all just do their own thing. and im not tryin to lead i mean i didnt even know discoveries raised max lvl cap..i jus tthink the idea of a group going out to dive or treasure hunt is rewarding enough but their is actually a concrete reward for your lvl cap. casual company = death.

Yah devoting resorces to hats on bears is dumb i can agree with that. i don't agree that getting offline raided is a bad thing. destroying other peoples stuff is a pretty big feature of the game. also yah if you take a 2 week break stuff happens when your gone. basically to counter that you need to be in a company of like 100 people...or however many people it takes to make sure their is always like 10 people on. that's the social aspect of this game. and dont take this as me saying its wrong to take a 2 week break by all means you do what you have to do in real life. the only other thing i would disagree on is the time sink as well. i mean...do you want to play classic wow but everybody is instant 60? runescape but everyone has 99 stats on char creation? their is always unofficial servers for that. their will always be people who spend more time playing than you and some who spend less. depending on how you look at it you can laugh at both when encountered. in defense of the claim system: i think that arguments can be made for the way it was before and the way it is now. It's hard to decide what the philosophy should be on that issue. you could still find a tiny sliver of land to lay a claim tower but its gonna be a bad spot. if its the other way you could make the argument its even worse. someone could just start building literally right next to you and now you're really in for a war. offline raiding. grinding. destroying structures etc: is the whole appeal of the game for some people (me included) and large companys made up of people with social skills who don't blow up and have tempers and who aren't socially durrrrrrrrrr will always be playing the real game and companys with inactive players: ragers, social morons, casuals, bad leaders etc will always be weak and i think that's the way it's meant to be. if you don't like having your stuff destroyed find some cool people to pve with and just roleplay. build ships that are beautiful with complex deck layouts and stuff. basically if you try to play this game solo your gonna have a bad time. i guess you could rp as a savage maniac who jumps out of the bushes with a spear and just be a forest hermit. obviously i agree that technical problems are always bad though and i think going for mass appeal isnt a good idea. This game was meant to be brutal learn to make friends...or else :3
  11. so about the player numbers. to be fair do you really think this game could ever have mass appeal? (without making it carebear kid mode) they would have to put in the ability to buy power so that bads could just throw money at it instead of developing some social skills or just becoming knowledgeable. even then it still probably wouldnt have mainstream appeal. right? im sure the player counts will jump up but it's not like they're going to be smashing the charts, and i hope they never view having a low or a high player count as ultimate success because they may start making odd decisions like having stupid sea of thieves esque gun skins or just absurdly stupid looking flavor skins for sale. imagine them selling wow like microtransactions on full release. fully leveled tames or blueprints...gold...(shudder). i dont think that would even help player counts tbh it would destroy the loyalists. but you get the idea. the game is too time consuming; social, and complicated for most gamers to enjoy imo. think about that..this game take cooperation with more than 3 other people over long periods of time to become powerful. people have meltdowns on overwatch or dota or league on a team of 5 in matches that last a few minutes. theirs a reason this niche game has a low player count because most gamers are scrubs X _ X I doubt this game will ever have a "high" player count. Here's hoping tho (dont even bring up ark. those people think dinosaurs are cool) :{}. . .
  12. the game was starting to seem a bit boring. not like ark in some ways. im glad they are focusing on strange and exotic animals to tame and level.. my little sister really loves that aspect of the game. the taming the breeding and colors. yah she has no interest in trying to block and counter attack with a sword or anything so this is great i thought they were gonna make the mistake of being too different from ark but luckily they are bringing in more of the things that made ark great and not cheesy at all...like tames. Tames everywhere screw wverything else more tames please more hats for tames as well. I would hate to just have some boring sword fight naw..i want his tame and my tame flailing about even if its just a 1v1. I want to put boots and a cowboy hat on my tiger. I want expertly done breeding animations. I want an age system for pets. You should have to trim your pets hair. I think the pet system should really be fully explored. You're just scratching the surface of the possibilities of tames. So get this...here's my million dollar idea devs....DRAGONS...that are slightly easier to get BUT these cant fly..AND you could like go in their mouth...to..BREATHE UNDERWATER! Bio submarines! And they can wear hats and put guns on them PEWPEW! Wingless dragons! Its such a great idea. Even better idea! what if you could craft these balls right..like call them capture balls and of course their would be different strength capture balls but youd have to be the tamiest of tamers to make the good ones..a true beast master and it could like...tame any tame..50% or something idk. w/e more tame stuff please. Those new ship rails look pretty nice.
  13. sooo... - ships now get sunk by pop up cannon/torpedo crabs/Tortugas.... - tames can now use cannons while swimming / cannons touching water... - NPCs can be used again for tame weapons... tell us again, how this game is about sailing ships...?!?! I get it, you don't play this game yourselves, nor do you play ARK... nothing is working out for you and your concepts for Atlas sucks more and more... and while working on the code you find the ARK assets for the platform saddle and "hey! I got an idea! How about we get more ARK players over here by making Atlas even more ARKy...?" Or where you looking at the failed LastOasis and their tiny player base with there non-existing 'ship' combat and said "hold my beer..." and implemented walking Man-o-Wars / one man BattleMechs...?

Is it like a dam? a levy perhaps? some sort of ditch? caucking gel maybe? well what ever it is it is reliably over****ing flowing. and i guess that means i can take my 30$ and shove it up my *** (if i still had 30$) so i guess i'll use something else thats even more unpleasant.) so..in conclusion. if this has anything to do witt: the number of objects placed; structured built; items collectd, etc etc. that would be THE scummiest thing ever. All that being said. I love this game. A lot of people do. Thats why it needs harsh criticisms...games like p2w wow and game plays itsels shawow legends (or w/e its called) exits..their are so many games that are just bad...they run perfectly and are technically sound but they are just...boring..carebear uninteresting shallow badness. this game is a great idea with servers that explode and a buffer that gets blown up apparently. i dont care about some framedrops here and their..or lag..i just want the game to run without being forced out for 12 hours or days or w/e at a time for no discernable reason....fix the buffer problem >< A buffer overflow happens when a program either tries to place data in a memory area past the buffer, or attempts to put more data in a buffer than it can hold. Writing data beyond an allocated memory block’s bounds can crash the program, corrupt data, or allow an attacker to execute malicious code.
  16. well the offline raiding thing is a problem... - on the one hand if it is allowed (with current defense items i.e. Puckles, etc.) it is the way to go, because why would you risk more resources and defeat against an online defender...? - on the other hand if you have "full" offline-protection it would go against the "full PVP" and some other problems (spam, no longer playing - all the PVE griefing) so the idea of conditional protection/offline protection is the way to go... If the defender does specific things he get specific grades of protection. Claiming an island to get a peace timer is one option. Having very hard to kill structure (armored docks) is another. Many moons ago I proposed a Fort like structure with high HP and working defense that could be operated by allies. It would protect the island 24/7, until it gets destroyed. So in order to take the island attacker has to destroy it, which depending on the level of the structure takes more resources (more than just a cannon bear and some balls)... But that was when the whole settler thing was promoted by the devs... More settlers = more people online defending the island... In that case it would also become political. If the attacker takes the island, would it be better to not wipe the settler and keep them for his own defense...? The docks kinda did the same thing as this Fort structure... place docks near flag, put ship with NPCs in docks to contest the flag... attacker needs to bring enough stuff to kill all the docks... lots of HP to kill... But then again... why not have working NPC defenses... a puckle is a small cannon (AOE) and a defensive cannon can be bigger/longer range thatn anything ship mounted or on a cart... and by the way a cannon behind a horse is not shoot and scoot... such thing needs setup, before and after firing = enough time for even a current NPC cannon to land a hit... But than again, a real horse is usually dead when hit buy a cannonball... and so is a "player"...

How can devs design games in a way that changes nothing or takes nothing away from their vision of what the games potential is while removing some of the hoops to grouping up? i wonder. like can you join a clan get kicked then lose all your stuff? i have no idea. if that did happen i would imagine that i probably wouldnt join another thing. do i need teemspeak or discord? how tf can i be apart of a thing? no matter. i will now brutally harvest this turtle.
  18. Wow man, you gave me a direct and logical idea. Damn. I am not being sarcastic. Thank you for this. this not only makes sense but I would easily get on board with this. And yeah man, I have played plenty of COD, fortnite(don’t tell anyone), wow, and counter strike. I love pvp as well but there are some losers out there that love the fact they can raid you with you being offline. That never has been and never will be pvp and only makes you a coward to say the very least. thank you for your input. I would love the devs to see your idea but they not only stay away from the forums but they have some jaded delusion that they have the good ideas even though they only have 1100 people playing the game lol. Either way, good idea man. Thumbs up and salute to you.
  19. Getting rid of tames will not go well for you man. That would definitely make the game a lot worse. Breeding and selling tames is probably the biggest mechanic of the game so I would probably delete your first idea or even the devs will probably just stop reading after that.
  20. Hello. Here are some ideas for the devs, from our alliance (5 enterprises playing together). Please only answer if you have some constructive comments or ideas to share. No hate or rude comments, let's keep it positive for the community. 1) Please suppress the dinosaurs of this game, their very existence makes no sense in a game of pirates. Atlas can be more than a pale copy of Ark. 2) It'd be nice to differentiate players' transport ships and players' war ships (example: in the shipyard, you'd have the choice between two skeletons for a galleon, one giving your ship more weight default stat, the other more resistance default stat, when it's released from the shipyard) 3) Please add larger sails on the galleon, and reformat the sails module on it (3 very large sails instead of 6, so it'd be easier to board the big tamed animals like crabs, giraffes, elephants, rhino...) 4) Please remove the animals from the power stone islands, and replace them by actual neutral or aggressive pirate towns (like on the solo server). 5) Along with the idea just before, please add a simple quest to unlock the power stones: >> Example for neutral towns: Talk to a NPC pirate within the neutral pirate town (example: each NPC small talks about the Atlas universe with the player, which could give some contents to the storyline of the game, until you find the right NPC that enables you to unlock a power stone) OR kill 1 player on that island to unlock the power stone (just imagine how fun it'd be to hide within a pirate town to kill other players) >> Example for aggressive towns: Kill 10 NPC pirates within the aggressive pirate town, it triggers the surrender of their captain which unlocks a power stone, OR kill 1 player to unlock it 6) As for the hydra, you can keep it with the mythical creatures (Medusa, cyclops...) on 1 island. Delete all the other irrelevant animals and creatures. Their purpose will be like now, to farm mythos for the submarine and mythical crafts (exemple : Hydra 2000 mythos, cyclop 5 mythos, Medusa 1 mythos...). 7) Please replace the ships of the damned by actual pirate ships that can be attacked and boarded (like on the solo server). I get it, Pirates of the Carribbean was a good film. But in Atlas, unless you add some storyline to the ships of the damned, their existence makes no sense. 8) Please keep it coherent when you place animals and resources within the biomes (no snakes / scorpions / lions / tigers ... in temperate and cold biomes!). Plus if you change the way to move within the game like announced in the last patchnote, people can just sail to get the resources and tames they are missing in their biomes (teleportation from a biome to an other instead of 1 big map?) 9) Why not make it mandatory to get some resources in the sea only? It'd increase the time we spend sailing instead of just playing on land. It'd also be increasing the difficulty to craft mythical items. 10) Please add a timer to the claim towers. 11) Instead of parting the PvE/PvP servers, make it possible to travel from one to the other. To prevent from massive farming in PvE before going to PvP, the navigation between the two servers would only be possible by sloop, and the blueprints from PvE would disappear when you cross to go to PvP. And to encourage the PvE players to play now and then in PvP, why not give a permanent EXP x2 in PvP, EXP x 1 in PvE?
  21. To say its splitting up the community, you have to assume the PVEers would move to PVP servers. I think most would just quit. If they wanted Atlas PVP, they would already be there. Maybe we revisit this idea after much more work on Atlas is completed. Until then we'll leave it to the off-line raiders and the rubber-banding lag sea battles. Or the we have far more people then you so we will level your base today. But you guys do make some entertaining videos. Thumbs up to Fe7on! If this game ever gets to a point of running good, I'll come hammer on your planks.
  22. So I lost my entire base, warehouse and farm. Everything completely gone. I'm guessing due to decay because I wasn't there for a couple of weeks because (I thought) I was taking advantage of no decay timer in claimed areas to explore the map. Something i haven't really done. So put decay timer on claim structures! Put decay timer on claim towers! This false sense of security cost me everything at that base! It's comical because the claim towers won't decay but everything within it will?! Eventually there will be empty islands that nobody can use because every inch will be spammed by afk claim towers? If i didn't lose my base by decay then I have no idea what, and that needs to be addressed. Fix this game please! I keep preaching about how devs keep adding broken stuff on top of broken stuff. Pretty soon this game will be so far down the broken hole that dev team will be chasing their tails trying to figure out how to fix all the issues. I feel like every time I turn around I get to learn something the hard way, then instead of fixing it, adding something else I get to learn the hard way. Why does everything feel broken in this game? Come on now, FOCUS!
  23. I played this game from day 1, and had some real fun times playing on PvP with my friends. Sadly work and real life came along and I wasnt able to play. Today, one of my friends who hasnt played got it in a sale recently, and was hyped about wanted to play it. While downloading it I decided to check the patch notes, and what the fuck has actually happened?! Paying gold to build ships in your own shipyard? Modular ships so no ship design?? The ability to claim claim other people bases AND ships, just like that??? Jeez I was actually excited to come back and play, but just reading that I am just going to uninstall again. I dont even want to be involved in that cancer. Who thought this was a good idea? Thats not to mention the likely countless other awful changes which I havent yet read about!
  24. I know my opinion it totally unpopular, but I kinda like the idea of putting some efforts to earning new ships. I mean, there once was old Russian pirate game called "Corsairs" and you newer start in with Linen Ship. You start with bummer "Barkas" or "Tartan" boat with 4 smallest cannons each side, and had to earn money with trading, some questing, or robbing merchants sailing around. Of course you couldn't fight big guys in the beginning, and it was long way full of hardships. You had to earn your right to be a captain of big and strong ship. And that was the journey. The are two bad things of it in Atlas tho. First - lack of ways to earning golds. Trading routes are works but with current warehouses radius - there are just 15 warehouses around big size island, and this is totally no fascinating way to put 3-4 building and see money appears in your storage. Treasures are good but yet monotonous all the same and only doable by tames. I would say they should definitely increase amount of gold earning from high level damned ships, but... with current stern shotgun meta it's no big deal to sink lvl-60 damned galley with just sloop or schooner... (but compared to automated gold appearing in warehouse - it's just the hell alot of efforts lol). Whales - boring kiting. Flotsams and sunken ships - those are just approach, dive and loot... so. I mean it could be really cool if some towns appeared everywhere, and there were like trading guys there, buying and selling stuff you can't use, but just load your storages and deliver it to somewhere. With different prices, we could use this trading activities (and of course in pvp players could hunt trading ships for wares to sell). Also some delivery quest (like sail 6 grids away and gather specific resources and bring them to quest giver) would be great, as well as some quests to fight all kind of high level guys in Goldens (and those guys could also drop golds...). Unfortunately DEVs won't do that. (And I'm guessing, it's not about game's vision or something. It's about they just don't know how to code it, or they are just lack of resources to do so). And second. A lot of ways to lose your ship out of ingame battles. In fact. I didn't lose a single ship in real fight! But I loose like hundreds of them to game glitches. My first 5K schooner was sunk after 15 minutes sailing. I just got game crash and game didn't let me in until my ship was destroyed. Camping borders damned ships, some glitches with ocean bottom, trolls in Kraken fight... ship can just eject you to the ocean near damned ship. And yet now all those claiming issues. What devs really should do, is to let us buy our ship back after it sunk. For example, we could pay like 100g per day to some freeport shaman, and after our ship is sunk, within some period of time, this shaman can summon it back for... like 10% of it's price. 500g for schooner. Totally empty, with no crew, but same design and stuff (like high level parts) and same level. But... yet again, I doubt they could introduce this kind of stuff. Because they need to code game mechanics for that, not just add some stuff. Not sure if they can do that (sigh).
  25. I don't see the logic in it but then I can't find the logic in many things they do. I suffered in the 5k grind and left the game for a while I was so bored. Then I got a warehouse. Clearly they want you to get a warehouse and harvester. A few weeks later you have endless gold. If you were on pve and not single player, I'd give you 5000 gold. Now granted I'm kind of a power grinder but I have almost 400,000 gold and don't know what to do with it. Now not active due to the someday to come wipe. I hate the idea of working for progress that will be wiped. So much I can't bring myself to log on for more than resetting timers. I keep asking myself why I waste time here.
