  1. My list of horrible PVP games 1. The Atlas! (all what can be wrong is worng here) 2. Dark and Light (Really bad Ark copy) 3. Ark (only way to play are private servers or singleplayer) 4. Ark II (im sure it will be bad as Ark 1, only visual side can be little better cause unreal engine 5) And my list of good PVP games 1. WOW 2. Lineage II (this old game had karma based system, so more friendly you killed more karma you got so in end sity guards and all turned against you.) 3. ArcheAge (So this is game atlas must learn how to manage PVP so that all would be happy) 4. Runescape 5. No man sky (i guess i'm only one who liked pvp there :D) Atlas, Ark & Dark and Light are like same and looks like that Dark and light company is also wildcard's failed miracle project. So my good pvp list is really long, but i added games what are little bit similars with atlas. So cause PVP is BS in this game i like PVE and PVE can be really good if they add more NPC's, mission's on land and sea but as we see they only add useless broken content here.
  2. Imagine if Atlas had the original player base it used to. Nobody would find anything. We would assume that Atlas' goal is to increase the player base so this is an inherent problem with their game design. It's these choices that lead them to inevitable failure. I almost think they need to give up the whole land claim domination/ hoarding game paradigm and just stick to being an exciting adventure pirate game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's what people are looking for when they buy this game. I know I am. When you think of exploring the seas and coming across islands, you wouldn't expect every single square foot of land being overpopulated. If I wanted that I can just look at real life. It would be more exciting to find deserted islands instead. Assuming that they changed directions and wanted to forgo the world domination aspect, maybe they should simply allow one base per cell per company? Even still I think that wouldn't be enough to free up space for new players. They need to have room for new players to settle, and they shouldn't have to travel for hours real time in their shitty ramshackle sloops to find it.
  3. Only point I see as valid is there needs to be some weapon balancing. If virtually everyone worth their salt is using mace and shield, obviously there's something wrong with the viability of other weapon setups.
  4. Ok, you seem not to have understood what is wrong with the game, even in the latest Redbeard Patch from tomorrow. So i explain it in very easy words : a) player is building ships, bases and shipyards over several month b) naked Beach Bob troll with a claim tower is passing by while the player sleeps/works c) game over Anything about that somehow is not fully clear and obvious to anybody ? P.S. If you suggest that working/real life sucks : I agree
  5. RedBeard, i am afraid that you are aiming in the wrong direction again, just like all of the other 5000 Grapeshot devs before you. No, we dont need more content, we need the current content working. No, we dont need buffing the zerg conpanys. We need buffing the solos and small groups, who are the majority of the players. You could start by removing the claim towers, which finally have driven me and all of my friends from the game. Please remove the fountain of youth, as it is no fun. Remove the Kraken quest to unlock game content like subs and torpedos. Remove the max level penalty for players not willing (or not able due to company size) to travel and do the stones quest. Please strengthen defence and nerf offense. Just now it does not matter if you have 100 stone walls around your ships and treasure or not. If you refuse to do this small companys will stay to be cannon fodder for the zergs, just like it is now. No, we dont need modular ships. Modular ships have driven the creative players away from Atlas. Your plans for the future will, once again, strengthen the weaknesses of ATLAS and nerf its strong parts. We dont need stupid zombie voodoo temples, we just need a pure working pirate game. Of course you will not listen to me, as devs never do, i loved the original game, at the moment it is „way to much of nothing“. I certainly will return if i see a perspective to survive in ATLAS in the patch notes, which is currently not the case at all.
  6. I don't care what you add i am ready to call it quits nothing works yet you add broken ships, but still no map now you add new dessert still game crashes. Fix before you add more what is wrong with you people you ask what we want most of the player you haven't run off tell you fix the game that's what we want
  7. What do you mean by the "old dev company"? Are you referring to Studio Wildcard? If so, I felt that the development of Ark was "smooth sailing" compared to Atlas. As for being corrupt, I"m not sure what specific point you're drawing upon. I don't think I'm cynical enough to think Grapeshot is corrupt, but lacks proper direction, leadership and at the risk of sounding harsh, competence. I think they went into this with lofty goals and good intentions, but continue to prioritize incorrectly and make bad decisions. I hope that I'm wrong and they pull an awesome game out of all this.
  8. Hello, First off please forgive me if this is in the wrong area, I am very new to the game and forums. I have a dedicated server for myself and 2 friends through the GTX Gaming host . For some reason we are stuck in A1 with red almost fire like borders stopping us from travelling to the next region, does anyone know how to fix this? I also tried to make taming faster but there was no option to? I tried contacting the site's help but they were very vague which makes things pretty hard for someone who is very new to it all. Thank you in advance.
  9. that next wipe will be my last time in this forever EA game. All they do they do totally wrong!!! they must go back at day one version of game and just fix bugs and let game stay like this. But making pointless content cause few streamers wanting it is totally stupid and thats why this game is doomed and boring.
  10. Did they not say.....and please correct me if I'm wrong....that they won't wipe servers unless they absolutely need to? It seems to me like they broke things in the game so badly that they can't fix them without wiping, all under the guise of "hey look, we're going to wipe the servers to give you another thing (pyramid) that nobody wanted or cared for! " They figure that if they wipe the servers, the stuff that is broken will work better with their version of a fix -- partially fix said item(s) break even more. GG Atlas devs.
  11. I tried to use this code, and I cannot get it to work. I wonder if I'm placing the code in the wrong spot. I tried to place it in the "OceanFloatsamCratesOverride" box on SGE, I then tried to place it in the chart in each grid on SGE for the "Default game.ini Values". Still it did not work. Can you please help me to find where to place this?
  12. Build a silo and place it at your base. Fill the silo with berries. Your crew should be fine eating from the silo for weeks (unless they nerfed silos recently). Silos will feed and pay all your crew on that island or on ships anchored at it. Just fill it with berries and gold. Bears eating potatoes from a few troughs should last a few days on the trough and a couple more on their stomach. P.s. I think I saw a dev post in the past about a farmhouse. If I remember it acts just like the silo but for tames. A bulk feeding device. Maybe that comes out soon. I could be wrong.
  13. New stuff sounded interesting, so I thought I'd check it out. But they've introduced so many new bugs to things that were working that I'm quitting again after only 3 days. Beds are messed up: You have to search for a name of the bed and then hope that you can click on the bed to respawn instead of choosing beds normally Taming is messed up: Even with tier 3 taming, you can't bola tigers (who knows about some of the other, only tested with tigers) Farming is in a bad place: Unless the resource map is wrong, chili seeds and wheat seeds do not exist in the wild. And unless there is something that I'm missing, you can't get back to rookie cove for the freeport seed seller, and the freeports in the other areas (at least the one in D6) don't have seed sellers in them. Portals are messed up: Almost lost 6 of my 8 crew that I was transporting because they all spawned off the boat and were getting eaten by the shark sitting right there Troughs are messed up: They don't exist as far as I can tell (searching for what skill teaches them through searching the item crashes your game) That's just the stuff that I found in just a few hours of playing. Who knows what other stuff that was working is broken, and what new bugs they introduced?
  14. I've unlocked primitive construction, construction and mercantilism, as well as all the way down to Metallurgy and still can't find the thatch building pieces or the smithy. Am I doing something wrong or is this an issue in single player? Also, to be able to view the map...is that also something that needs to be unlocked because my atlas map is black and my handheld is white.
  15. Hmm. Well I guess the intent was never to be or rather give the atmosphere, of 17th? 18th century piracy land fun time? which I was hoping for. period accurate not fantasy mix mash period. I love this game I really do. I know how hard it is to make a game, and on top of that to advertise, get your game out there and most of all try to please all and make the fanbase player base happy. What I really loved about this game is the pvp and pve its fine. sure bugs but its great. building things ships look great. BUT: please I do not understand maybe you all can help me maybe its my ignorance I am sorry but We the players have great ships look period? accurate. then we have the SOTD... neon bone like speedboats? When I see them feels like I'm about to see like party people and airhorns and rum ham........ Why not make the enemy npc like real ships that the players use? and boarding npc ships? And now on to the foot soldiers of the damned?? They look at least to me, Alien exoskeleton glowing? skeleton pirate monsters? Why cant they be like us the players like people? maybe make gangs/groups of npc pirate company/hordes/gangs? That sail the seas? Like in some ways the single player mode npc pirates? Lastly, I know people will stone me because its not an mmorpg....... Could we have like a a few grids that are both pvp and pve and all players can attack npc lands, they too could have timers? make it hard. make it worth the raid. other companies could cross fire backstab during raid would be chaos... but glorious pvp :) Secondly along that grid or in it a huge island a main town of sorts full of npc/player shops. taverns, basically a place to congregate and show off :) (see below) oh and of course it would be lovely to have so be it cosmetic only gear to wear outfits, hats.... the period of flintlock had beautiful attire for gentlemen and ladies. So on that big "Town Island" all players could meet up , maybe an area where all can gather and watch a pvp duel with flintlock/swords? or pve duel? or both! I feel this town would attract more players, maybe in my mind only maybe not. just my opinion. I could be totally wrong it could be a bad idea who knows.. Have taverns drunk drinking games, you guys like to implement eye twitching fast click the mouse button mini games? so why not something like where all players can meet up and play a mini game? I dont know. Meh forget the whole thing.
  16. The trip to Nozetal had been a bittersweet one. While the salty ocean winds had breathed life into these old sea bones, the lingering memories of my time in La Noferia left me on edge. I had narrowly evaded certain death and although we were now miles away, the danger remained as present as the tattered journal close to my chest. Landfall could not come soon enough, the crew were on their final leg before their for home voyage and a detour for a strange passenger with mysterious intentions did not help ease their growing restlessness. I had kept to myself in my quarters and on landing, I quickly disembarked, narrowly avoiding an escalating confrontation about a missing pinnace that had mysteriously disappeared overnight. While a large town with folk of all manners, I could not help but feel the eyes of the townsfolk had pegged me as someone different. My apparel was nothing remarkable but it seems my inquiries about my pending guide had made me a person of interest. When I finally entered the local alehouse, it seemed word had spread quickly, because with each step towards the bar, I drew more and more attention from the local patrons. As I approached the bar, I met eyes with the barkeep and he gestured, as if he knew everything already, with a tilt of his head to a briny old man with a battered cocked hat and disheveled blue jacket. The stench of sea and spirits grew stronger as I walked over, a familiar aura put off by those devoted to the sail and by the smell, he was the most devout I had ever encountered. "Captain?", I inquired. The word was clear as a bell as the room had fallen silent, all ears had perked for any tidbit of our conversation. However, the man remained unresponsive, still hunched over the bar. As I cleared my throat to repeat my query, the Captain turned, leapt off his stool and grabbed me by my head, hands on either side. He now towered over me, much larger than I perceived in his former slouched state, with his giant hands palming my head. Stunned, I closed my eyes expecting him to crush my skull with the slightest muscle twitch. "Nephew!", he exclaimed as he glanced over me, "Aren't you just the spittin' image of your mother, God rest her soul!" And before I could respond to the misunderstanding, he wrapped his massive arms around me and clutched my head straight into his chest. "Do you have the money, lad?" he whispered so only I could hear. "Ye.. yes." I coughed still fazed by the sudden display of affection and new proximity to the source of the seaman's stench. "Barkeep, a round on me. A celebration for the reunion of me and me sis's son!" The still air was broken with the news of good fortune and with a collective cheer, the familiar bar sounds returned. "Pay the man and meet me at the docks, less prying ears out on the sea." With that he released me and I stumbled gasping for a clean breath of air. Recovered but still shaken by the grand charade that just took place, I took a stool next to his to fake familiarities until it was time to leave. The captain "retired" for the night shortly after and I was soon to follow, much lighter on coin than I had entered. I met the Captain again on his vessel, a small cog, meant for a light crew. As requested, we set off with just us two to man the cog, in an effort to keep our journey discrete. Unlike the actor in the alehouse, the Captain was a quiet man. Apparently, his willingness for the absurd and the rewards that followed had gained him much unwanted notoriety and many adversaries to boot. He often departed for journeys quickly in the night, in hopes to keep his pursuers off guard. And so that night, we set sail for Walfield Atol, a close but treacherous and relatively uncharted area known for its mysterious weather conditions and strange disappearances of many a crew. It had been a few days before we drew close to our final destination. Unfortunately, we were not alone. Another small ship had been following our vessel since our departure and keeping its distance throughout the journey. However, the Captain was not fazed, believing we'd lose them once we arrived at Walfield Atol. "Only the king of fools is dense enough to take a cog through Walfield, and you're in the presence of royalty," he would reply with a laugh to my concerns. And as we sailed closer black clouds could not only be seen in our direction but also seeming closing in on us at our wake. Between shifts at the helm, I had started deciphering another page in the journal and now finished, I thought I had gone wrong, for the translation depicted something truly unbelievable. To reassure myself, I reread the page aloud, hoping to discover any mistakes that could affirm my doubts and put me at ease. A burning disk, floating on the turbulent surface of the ocean. A rumor that almost rivaled the discovery of real Wonders and Monuments in the world has reached me. I set sail to the rumored location of one of these disks, near the Walfield Atol. I have a feeling that this might be related to the temple that I found on that island. I arrive at the island and look west, in the direction of the rumored disk. I can’t see anything, but it’s mid-afternoon so I decide to wait until morning to set sail again thinking this rumor was a tale to mislead youthful pathfinders. As it gets darker I head back up to the deck of my Sloop to make sure no pirates have found me. The island is silent, and I see no lights. I look over to the West and pause. What is that blueish light? It's near the horizon, and far too bright to be a star. Raising anchor I set sail towards the blue light with the wind at my back. The rumors were true. I arrive in the middle of nowhere to a...disk shaped structure that is aflame with bright blue-white fire? It looks like lightning made fluid. I look over the side of my Sloop down at the surface of the water and panic. I’m caught in a maelstrom, and am being dragged into the ring. There is barely enough time to run to the captain's wheel, before my Sloops bow enters the burning ring's light. My skin begins to tingle and all my hair stands up. My vision fades to a blinding bright white. After a few moments my vision returns to normal and I find myself sailing away from the disk. I open my compass to set sail back to port, but I’m sailing the wrong direction. The wind is still at my back, but now I’m sailing East? I pull out my sextant to confirm...and I’m no longer at the same part of the ocean as I was a few moments ago. I’m on the other side of the world! I get my bearings and set sail to the nearest freeport. Foolishness, I thought to myself. Discs, like portals, to another location? Impossible. As I finished, I heard the Captain call to me muffled by the crashing waves from an impending storm. The deck had become slick with rain and as I stumbled to the helm, I could only suspect that what he had for me was not going to be pleasant news. "If you're going to tell me about the storm I've noticed!" I yelled over the crashing waves. "They're damned fools too! Look!" he replied pointing to the stern with one hand with the other struggling to steady the wheel. As I looked to our rear, I was greeted by a haunting sight. Only about 200 yards away, our pursuers had drawn close and were nearly at our heels. To my horror, piloting the pursuing vessel were three figures in black cloaks. Instantly, my heart sank and I buckled, nearly losing grip of the railing. "They'll be on us soon enough, but I'd gladly give them my title if they tried to board us in this storm!" The captain boasted as the waves continued to toss our ship. I gathered myself and peered to the rain at the chasing ship, hoping the waves would take them instead. As they bobbed in the sea, two of the figures had made their way to the front of the ship, each holding out something, as if making an offering to the sea. In my astonishment, a small flash came from each of their hands and suddenly, the objects they held were no more. I had not a moment to comprehend the small ritual that had taken place before a giant flash of light illuminated the sky behind me. I turned to see a giant red disc had taken shape over the water a few hundred yards in front of us. Is this the disc the journal spoke of? Bewildered, I vaguely recall the Captain frantically screaming profanities as he tried to regain control of our vessel to no avail. Our ship began to pick up speed, pulled toward the disc by some unseen force. It was only a short time before our vessel made contact with the anomaly, slowly engulfing each part as it helplessly sailed through. And as the disc finally swept over me, I clutched the journal that led me here and prayed its words were true. Final Note Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted. 17. 18. Okay. I think I figured out what was wrong. I didn't add code to increase my levels. Now that I have done that, creatures at level 120 spawned in will gain experience. Now, I need to figure out what to set level difficulty to in order to get level 120 creatures.
  19. They have not gone on record saying anything about this being a PvE focus change yet.... I truly hope it is BUT I have been around long enough to not jump to any conclusion. The only thing they said was a "Monumental new Adventure Begins"... Sea of Thieves did just that with a big Pirates of the Caribbean crossover/tie-in adventure and nothing about that game has changed to a PvE focus. I wouldn't believe they have changed their minds or direction at all.... the poor quality modular ships are still being churned out and there is, very sadly, no communication at all to prove they are really listening to the community or bothering to change the course they have already clearly stated. I honestly hope I am wrong. Atlas has the greatest potential of any sandbox I have ever played. It feels really bad to see all the potential just being pissed away. Still I will wait, watch and try what they release till it truly sinks to bottom of the seas...
  20. 90 PLAYERS ALL OVER EU SERVER, YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING WRONG, FIXING THIS DOESN'T HAVE TO BE VERY DIFFICULT, NO? AND IF IT IS EARLY ACCESS BUT HERE SOMETHING IS FAILED
  21. For me this game has ended. I deinstalled it the second time... should be the last time so. It is great fun to discover... but still shooners costs gold which is a no go for me. A Sloop is meaned for the first 1-2 days and than it's simply not needed anymore. Some still love the game and play it. Farm and grind their base, the gold for ships, spend ridicoulos time on hunting SotD and Treasue Maps for BPs etc. to have one ship for PvP. Still barrels everywhere and so on. No blancing of BPs as i suggested several times. 350% damage cannons with the increased level 60 ships it's hilarious. Most mid tier BPs are totaly worthless due to the high spread of mystic. I had too many negative points to play it further. It's too much hardcore for me playing PvP even in a large and profesional company with thousands of hours expirience of every player. You build up 1-2 month but you are never safe... have to be online daily with no break, griefing everywhere with toxic Players abusing bugs etc. Red = Dead no matter what. Ship combat is to expensive and way to much land griefing is possible. I suggested to reduce the island heights, instead they lowered the building height for structures, puckles etc. and gave us the spider to climb the mountains or a mortar ships to shoot bases on top, lol. Yes the People you play with make this game great. You find new once and build great teams from scratch. But once you hit the wrong toxic kid you are screwed by their stupidity. Fight fair 10 vs 10 company on see and win? Guess the enemy calls their mega friend in to wipe your base with 20 cannon horses. This game is great for playing and discover for >2000hours but the frustration level is also very high. For me this is the most important point to quit. But the game will be dead because of the Devs way. Nobody is seeing any positive aspect on the modular ships. Yes it's EA and everbody playing is Alpha/Beta tester and know it. Some will keep testing and give feedback on reddit, discord or any of this bull shit plattforms the Devs can't get good information from, but just get spammed.(My opinion) Maybe they will go on like this for another 2 years adding ship after ship and trade after trade, re arange the map layout etc. and finally call it finished. I don't believe this will happen. They abandone nearly everything they add "new" and don't fix or improve it. See the new ship... a longer shooner with 20/20 cannons not balanced with weight and sails most likely. Most Brigs drive around with 3/4 cannons due to the speed meta... what is this ship? Long, but small width... lower truning rate than worse kraken(shooner) close to a gally... but you may can place 8 catapults modular on the deck? Just for the funs? I'm done with Atlas.
  22. Hey dumbass the only dumb cunt was the one the gave birth to you. FYI you fuck up the first team of Dev's got fired you really are the one that brings a knife to a guy fight. Did you forget to take your medication. Do people a favor smack your mother fir swallowing the wrong child.
  23. See, I disagree. You're not wrong about the game having it's issues, but the devs gave me a game that I played more than any other game in my entire life. I'm reinstalling the game right now, going to try and get some of my old buddies back on. Hopefully one day they'll invest more into its development. I heard they added seasons which was something I always thought would be a great idea. Wipe every 3-4 months and have a new theme for each season. Maybe make things a little less grindy and require less time investment for people with jobs. I think that could reignite some interest. I would say market the seasons as a feature - I always love it when everyone starts with a blank slate. Either way, I've always loved this game.
  24. Hello Developers, designers and all others on this project, Please look at this image with an open mind and heart then ask yourself what is wrong here. You are creating content that continues to generate mostly negative feedback and your communication with the community has all but shut down. I recall the ARK early access period. It was exciting and fun with all the new things that, for the most part, made the game better and I still play ARK to this very day! I strongly feel this pure pvp focus and the forced generic ship design are destroying any potential this game has/had. Please consider resetting your course and do what you have done before. Make an amazing game for all to enjoy! Thank you and much love. I really want to see you and this game succeed!
  25. You know... I still feel that this Atlas being developed on leftover basis. It's like they have around 35 ppl overall in company, they do ARK-II, they work enthusiastically there. And then, once in 1-2 days, one or two developers open Atlas project and do something there within couple of hours. I was 3D developer long ago, I was creating Russian trains for TainZ game in 3D studio Max, and It took me the same time to introduce my new projects, as they do this modular ships. I was working alone and using my free time, after university and some homework. It's not DEVs bad, or something. It's just they don't wanna to. They do more interesting and more important projects. Atlas is more like burden project for them. They don't have time to love it, to feel excited about it, to share their feelings. Even each patch notes - they are ve-e-e-ery formal with copy-paste text like: Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, and will be there for next 10-15 years... I mean I would be glad if I wrong here, I just saying my feelings.
