  1. the problem is that most people came to the game to have fun, wheter or not they are historically accurate would come in second place... or lower in my opinion the biggest mistake this game did was to halt its development to focus on the xbox release, at that point is when they totally lost me as a player and as a consumer
  2. well thats relative, they have lots of similarities but also huge differences, the fact that new world doesnt have sea content might be a no go for people who came to atlas exclusively for that type of content, yet for the people who came to atlas because it was a survival with open pvp they might actually enjoy new world much more, they have almost infinite resources to throw at the game, hence the ammount of content they will be able to create will most likely be huge in comparison, they have even said they are considering creating dungeons, wich could attract those atlas players that also like MMORPGs, and new world will have the option to "opt in" pvp, wich means that all the people that left atlas because of the griefing will also see it as a viable alternative.
  3. well first of all atlas taught us you should never feel to excited about an unfinished product, since as we have seen it can be put on halt/slow development anytime for any reason (greed for example), yet i think they are developing it in a way that sould tackle a lot of atlas problems, if anything i will miss not being able to sail around since the only reason i came to atlas in the first place was that it was supposed to be an ocean focused pirate themed survival game
  4. well to be fair if he rly did quit i cant blame him, i mean aside from an activity to kill time there is not much atlas can rly offer about new world, i am not exactly what you would call exited, rather i am very curious they seem to have faced the same problems in their alpha than atlas did in early access like offline rading, power abuse, etc. fortunately they seem to have learnt from atlas mistakes and are taking entirely different decisions to tackle those same problems so i wanna know how it all goes.

  7. that wouldnt be strage at all, specially considering they kicked the PC development of atlas to the side of the road for 10 months to focus on the xbox release, my advice is just wait for "new world" from amazon it seems it will be a medieval-survival kinda thing and is scheduled to release in march may

  9. your company had to study the weather to reach that conclusion? now seriously that fixes nothing mate, what are you gonna do when you "predict" you are gonna have wind against you for 6 real life time hrs? ATLAS will die virgin then

  12. oh god no, please dont give them ideas, we have been stuck in the same hole without any improvements for more than 10 months because of the stupid xbox release already
  13. dont mind him too much percieval is not a very smart man (and rather toxic) that been said i dont think we will see any improvement on the game any time soon
  14. let me tell you the story about a group of incompetent developers who had this conversation: Dev1: You know what would be funny Dev2: What? Dev1: If someone puts time and effort into building a ship/s and it sinks because he hasnt logged in 2 weeks Dev3: why so long tho? lets make a smaller timer based on ship activity Dev2: why not both? Dev4: ....lets do it! and thats the story of how several types of decay timers were introduced.....
  15. just move on mate, there is a lot of decent titles out there its been clear long ago that they have no idea what they are doing
  16. rather sad indeed, specially considering this game was sold with exploration as a core feature
  17. i couldnt help but to remember atlas when i saw the trailer, i am pretty sure a big chunk of atlas's playerbase will give it a shot
  18. i have never understood how a game with this many bugs and low population doesnt have a system in wich when you sink you can simply get back your ship by repairing it at a freeport but it does have a decay system intead, its almost as if they wanted to forceefully chase players away from the game.
  19. this is what happened: Freeports and Golden Age Ruins grids have increased decay rates.
  20. thats a problem as old as the game, dont bother posting about it, it has been said before, and nothing has been done.
  21. are you aware this is a survival game? last time i checked your ship would stop if you fell from it? did that change?
  22. the funny part is that from the start the glider was one of the few things that were fun in this game, i have lost count how many times they have nerfed it already, i dont understand whats the obssession with destroying what once was a fun item instead of using that time to do something actually positive to the game...
