  1. What they really should do relating to sea travels is: - Cut mapsize at least twice. - Add random dangerous activities in the ocean we should pass through or avoid with rewards for that. All my thought of this is here:
  2. Looks sooooo piracy! It's like I've watcher Pirates of Caribbean!!! (sarcasm) I mean... we still in the game of sailing, open seas romance, great battles, and adventures, right? Not in "happy farm", "sims" or some king of breeding simulator? Or... devs actually planned so we will play this way - spend 200h. of breeding and then bring army of bears and dinos so they will kill damned magical army for us? (I mean - well done for TS, he did gr8 job, but... the game itself...)
  3. Press "O" several times while on podium or steering wheel. It will turn on/off all lanterns/torches you attached to your ship.
  4. The best they can do in this state just to somehow attach Atlas back to ARK and forget about all this sailing piracy romance. So we could just stop suffering from pipe dreams and go wait until next pirate sailing game appears. Maybe next one will be THE game we all deserve.
  5. I think they'll introduce all brand new (what's pirate game really needs) - giant tame lobster! Or maybe some king of magic ballistic missile, can be launch from this lobster's back...
  6. I guess I'll try this one next time I join the game. And btw I once got mythic cannon bp with just 100% damage lol : ) I shoot 10 at once, and with Overdrive it 2 shoots in a row and then Rally do the work : ) But I think that (what's in the picture above) should be changed, totally! Because non of those ships were able to do totally 100% synchronized and parallel shot. So instead of this: They should do this: So when I hit fire - my vessel do volley within... lets say 3 second and all my cannonballs lands in wide area. And then my captaining skills comes in to decrease area of attack range and lower volley time.
  7. As far as I remember, I keep 10 point in sturdiness (because of it longer sinking time). 10 points in damage. Rests to defense. But I still not sure of how many we should put in to defense and attack. I don't do any x-tra beds (because I use only one side of my ship for battle and have 13 crew + myself on ship. And If I remember it right - default Brig have 16 crew capacity) I don't do any weight, because I don't use this ship for world exploration, resource gathering, far half-atlas traveling etc. That's why I actually keep couple of vessels anchored near my base. One for SotD hunting, another one for whales and far travels etc. When I was on my lvl-50 galley hunt, I also had 138% damage cannons, journeyman sails and common planks for 6200+ hp. installed.
  8. Here are Forest Green, Black and Gold : ) As for sails - there are 2 speed sails with cosmetic applied on them and at the back - usual handling sail. For my design - because I love all those sailing romance I do all things as they should be. No shotguns, kiting tactics etc. Just regular boardside sail-by battle. So I came to this design. - 10 cannons each side. - 4 cannons extra can be placed either in front, in back or like 2-2 front-back. But with parallel trajectory of volley (which devs should change btw) it's better to make all extras together. - I keep middle of my vessel as empty as possible, because most of SotD's cannonballs lands there. - Chess-like ceiling painting - really important to do fast maintenance during the fight. All top deck ceilings painted like that. - I have like 10 points in sturdiness, and all in captaining skill tree, because in serious battle I always get few of my planks gone. With all skills I sometimes like: "Yeah I have 2 leaks. I better finish my battle then go for maintenance" : )) - I Also keep 7 gunports, 5 planks, x-tra steering wheel and large speedsail in my supply chest. Because I twice was on my way back to base. Satisfied high but with just two sails : ))
  9. I still don't understand how people DO Sotd fight with Galleon : ) With lack of maneuverability it's just a torture to do seas battles, and you'll probably get loot from just last SotD you've down because while straight sailing before turn - you will loose all flotsam spots for ever : ) Brigs are the best : ) My one is like that (took lvl 56 Damned Galley with it)
  10. When EA released we were told that it will lasts for 2 years. Now devs do one minor update within 2 months. So one will be somewhere at the end of May. One - in July. One in September. Last one in November. Then it should be the GAME RELEASE. So imagine how great game will change from current state to release version within 4 minor patches? Not much I guess. So all who wanna great sea adventures ang epic battles - will probably get nothing. All who wanna more ship types - will get nothing. All who don't wanna play tames and breeds - will get nothing. There as just way too many things to fix, to rebalance, to redo. And more content to draw... so. It wont fit in 4 minor patches. So I guess it turned out that 2 years of EA were unrealistic expectations.
  11. (sigh) Still coming back to forums to check - is there any changes or improvement ingame so I could try to came back for the third time : ) Not yet, but maybe one day it'll happen : )
  12. There are two amazing people - Kara and Nate. They youtube travelers and already visited 100 countries around the world. Right now they are in their magic voyage to the very southern waters of Antarctica. And they got really touchy and emotional moment. Check it out here (watch from 12:00 to 15:00). So I've been thinking. This video is really great example so ocean don't have to be all dangerous, evil place. There are some rooms for beauty as well, right? I mean right now in Atlas - we just facing a dangers. Ocean is danger. Islands are full of danger. If you see anything in a game - it's probably wanna kill you, or you would wanna kill it for resources or loot. And after a video above I thought - maybe it would be amazing, if we had little positive events during our exploration too? They would occur occasionally, and be that touchy and emotional with proper graphic and soundtrack. Those events were you don't need to kill anyone. Just to be in a right place and right moment. And watch. Not just whales, dancing along the ships. Maybe rainbows after the rains, luminous algae during the nights, magical sunset and sunrises, maybe some mystical stuff, glowing flora, rare blooming flowers, fireflies etc. And for experience all those stuff we would gain EXP as I mentioned above. I mean right now there are dolphins, jumping around, northern lights in arctic, etc, but those are not events. Just meaningless picture.
  13. What I was trying to say is - all ship concept should change. Because in current state - it just made wrong. If I would do the pirate naval game - I would make it totally different way. - No free design, no walls, roofs, ceiling, no free cannon placement. - Just frame, planks, deck, one piece of ragging (all masts, ropes, cables, ladders) with spots for sails. - Guns just in gunports. - Insides of ship are filled with "modules", which are: living rooms for crew, cargo holds (each one has limited cargo capacity), supply room with cooking spots, tames cages, etc. And only in this state - we would wanna more ships. Like I mentioned here - 26 ships in 6 classes (each class is different size, sturdiness, and can carry it's own cannons from 16 to 42 pounds cannonballs)
  14. How about giant crab taming, bears breeding, and swimming via submarines with magical torpedoes? Did pirates do that?
  15. I often see forum messages like: "WE WANNA MORE SHIP TYPES IN THE GAME" I mean, it would be cool if there were a lot of different ship types. And I feel sad to talk about it. But let's take a sober look at current ship state. So. Difference between ships should be: - Hold size. - Sturdiness. - Amount of cannons. - Speed and maneuverability. And we should actually choice our vessel because of current mission needs (it's like that - we wouldn't wanna sail Frigate to nearest island, because we will unanchor it and then park back like for ever). And what do we have right now? - Hold size doesn't matter. We can put all of our cargo in to small chest in ship corner. - Sturdiness doesn't matter, because we can enforce our ship armor with additional roofs, walls, and ceilings and enforce it more with skills. - Amount of gunports goesn't matter because we can add extra 20 cannons to our brig and even 10 more to stern and 10 more to ship nose. - We have largest and fastest ship in a game. Why would we want slower and smaller? And maneuverability is important in boardside battles, but no one does that. Just usual chasing tactic and nose-stern cannons shoot. So... we've basically got everything we need. Wanna more different type of ship - use current base and create different types with roofs, ceilings, walls, different sails, and custom amount of cannons. If ship type would depend how many cargo it can carry (I'm not talking about weight, but size). How strong firepower it can carry, etc. Then we would wanna more ship types. But to make so - there are a lot of dramatic design restriction should be introduced! like no more guns out of gunports, no more roofs armor etc. Until then (and again I sad to say that) we simply don't need any more ship types.
  16. You know what I've been thinking of? As far as we've got battle tames, what if instead of riding one and make it bite the enemies we do "knight style" tames. So we use bull, bear or horse for that. We create some heavy armor for them, then use long lance or other melee to fight ahorse. Other battle tames use as pets to fight along us, but not like we riding em and they bite. Elephant saddle could be used to attach some ranged also... : )
  17. Are there some amount of crafted stuff in a loot, or just a single pieces of each item?
  18. Game moves to "more efforts less rewards" state : ))
  19. Hmm... I'm not an English speaker, so what are "loot tables" stands for? Does it mean - I can find crafted thing everywhere (in chests, flotsam, shipwreck, etc?) Is there possibility to get crafted mythic thing? Will there be just a single crafted thing instead of blueprint with possibility to craft several items?
  20. When we played duo with my brother, he always logged out in boat while I was behind the wheel on our way back to base. Then he always logged in the same boat anchored at our base. Did that like 10 times, and always worked for us. EU PVE official.
  21. I would add here - some dye consumption fix would be gr8. With just single dye I can paint like four 4x4 buildings and yet I need 6 dyes to paint tiny flag : )
  22. That's what actually need to be done. A lot of players just don't wanna deal with tames, and right now there is just no alternative. We should be able to obtain just regular horse with cargo harness for heavy cargo carry and should be able to use our tools as effective as tames do (for that - we should use better quality tools).
  23. One of the biggest mistakes DEVs made is this: 10 - SEA BATTLES I mean I aim, then I LMB. My all cannons do totally synchronized shoot, my cannonballs fly 100% accurate parallel trajectory and lands in exactly spot where I sent them. In the past NON OF THOSE SHIPS WERE THAT EFFECTIVE. It's not just unreal - it's stupid. Even now with today satellite aim helpers, shells are not THAT accurate. What I would do is: Cancel 100% accuracy. Cancel 100% synchronized volley. Cancel 100% parallel trajectory. Add misfire chance. Add critical strike. Instead of this: Do THIS: So when I hit LMB - all my cannons do volley within... lets say 3 seconds. And all my cannonballs lands in some wide hit area. When it's bad weather - sometimes cannons do misfire. Then my captaining skill-tree comes in. I can reduce negative effects with skills. And one more thing. In far and long journeys - my crew can catch some sickness. Sick crew have reduced HP, do all sail controls slowly, have longer cannon reload speed, increased chance of misfire and gain slight chance to land 50% of cannon damage while cannon mounted. To prevent this one - some medicine should be added into ship supply box. Also visiting Freeport or Base - will cure all crew. Famous captain - get additional exp. points ship get for seas adventures. Hygiene (can be taken 3 times - with effect increased each time) - reduce chance of crew member catch a sickness. Rationing (all but last skill can be taken 3 times as well) - same as now. Reduce amount of food crew needs. Cheaper crew - same as now. Reduce crew payment. Rally - for short amount of time slightly increases all crew actions speed (sails control, cannons control etc). Maintenance - reduce ship decay rate. Sail master - increase raising and lowering sails speed (by players and crew). Ragging Master - increase sails turn speed (by players and crew) Repairman - increase ship repairment speed (wither inside docks or in the ocean, repaired by patches). Windshear - for the short amount of time allows to sail full speed regardless of wind and sails angle. Better aim - reduce hit range area. Heap shooting - reduce volley time. Grainy gunpowder - reduce chance of misfire. Overdrive - for short period of time greatly reduce cannons reload speed. As for crits, cannons e-xtras, crew abilities - I'll write this one later. To be continued...
  24. Theoretically you can set your tames to "following" and leave area for some time. After you back - most likely you'll find your tames on the ground somewhere.
  25. Actually there is 200ppl limit since the begining. It means server (theoretically) can handle 200ppl. Ingame reality shows that it cannot (and never could) and I thought there were some improvement already made. At least there are no glitchy severs anymore like there were alot of them in the past. But yet servers still cannot handle 200 ppl.
