  1. Numbers have to work for the seller also, and considering that you have to travel to freeports back and forth, and the way you generate gold is pretty much the same everywhere, even if you centralize everything in a single market, you can only get marginal gains for everybody which i doubt it wil solve much. The screw up of the insane upkeep of player shops, is because they are too worried if people use freeport as a safe spot for their stuff, which is stupid imo.
  2. i don't know about the game, but the forum is crappier than ever thanks to some of their bots spamming all the time.
  3. Experience threshold for every level are the same for every ship no matter what the ship quality is. What i have never measured is if the amount of experience given by any type of sotd is influenced by the ship you are in.

    Im out

What kind of bp you need to get 300% cannons even with that much intelligence? If i understand well how it works, you still need a lucky roll and you can't stack high rolls with cannons. I'd worry more about high rolls in average blue, and purple things that are much more common and they probably can produce those things in larger quantities. I don't know man, i think you are freaking out too much with this. Don't get me wrong, i hope the devs learnt the lesson with duped crap and they can remove as much as possible, but i don't think this is such a huge issue as that was.
  5. They are not too powerful, if you lost two ships to them you are doing it wrong.
  6. They can also use a tame or a second account to do the same and is gold free. I don't get that obsession some of you have with being able to steal everything tbh.
  7. I hope if you add that, you also add the option to turn it off. Paying the crew is just half the job, you have to feed them and check ammo boxes too. Because mistakes happen, I'd rather lose a few localized crewmembers from time to time, than all of them and the claim of the island at the same time.
  8. Nobody said it wasn't a pain to clean them up, but as long as we in pvp have a counter why shouldn't it be a valid tactic? PVE players don't have that luxury so i think they are the ones who have a legitimate complain about this.
  9. I think it's a pve issue t, in pvp the solution is already implemented and is called cannons.
  10. pvp or pve server? If its pve i would go with just bottom and top decks, a ramp to go from the bottom to the top, another ramp to access the back ladder, and a 3x2x1 room for storage containers, just behind the steering wheel. Its pretty ugly and a pain in the ass to repair some of the planks, but it's functional if u want to have room for cargo.
  11. You came to that conclusion based on your vast experience playing the game get out of here.
  12. You can't treat it like its a loss in pvp because it's not, that's the whole point. If i haven't said it already im a pvp guy, i spent most of my post wipe time in golden age servers like M12 and D12, if you play around that area there's a big chance we've exchanged planks. I'm not afraid to lose my ship in pvp, in fact i lost it days before that change, and i would be very pissed if i hadn't and have lost it to this change.
  13. I'd love to see how many people would be willing to sink so many hours in a game like this doing boring and repetitive task knowing that all the goodstuff they get in exchange could be gone or be useless overnight because of a dev decision.
  14. Theres a pic on reddit of a level 52 brig, with like 5000 extra weight points, almost no resistance points. So you tell me that guy can retrofit his ship to ship cannons for example? or he can just change the Large cannons on top and place them in gun ports and its pretty much the same thing? I disagree. There's a streamer on twitch i watch regularly that had pretty much the same issue that this guy on reddit, but on top of that he just replaced the night before the cannons for a high damage legen ones, he's given up on the game obviously. I don't even have that problem, as i said before i've lost my brig the other day and haven't had the time to make a new one. Even if i disagree with the change, i understand they have to try to balance things, but i also think a major change like this could have been handled much better.
  15. Sometimes i wonder if i play the same game as people comenting here. Medium cannons have more dps, they weight less, they can track targets better, cannon balls weight considerably less. Besides range, the only advantage large cannons had was they could be packed so close together that you had enough alpha damage in one voley to destroy structures so you could use snipe and kite tactics. Now that you have to spread the shots and have seen their damage reduced, they are a worthless piece of junk. I know this things because i had lots of fights, a handling large sail ship cannon schoner could trash most of the old large brigs if you let him get close, not to mention ship cannon brigs...
  16. Even if it wasn't you usually sign Eulas and crap saying they can do anything they want and all you can do is whine about it, but that's besides the point. The point is people have been working during weeks to build those ships wasting tens even hundreds of hours hunting bps and leveling ships that cannot be used the way the designed them for, and they haven't had the chance to say 'fuck it, in one week this crap will be worthless lets have fun with it untill it sinks'. I mean they can do whatever they want, it's their game, it happens in every game, even though i disagree with this one, games need changes all the time so it doesn't become boring. How it happened is the problem, they could have anounced this changes as part of the may update and people wouldn't be so buthurt about it.
  17. That thing is just harbour furniture, you have to waste 30 points on crew to be able shoot every cannon. Even if you carry very little ammo and you spend every point you have left on weight, the ship is going to be very slow and hard to maneuver.
  18. i don't know in which cave have you been fighting, but EU PVP golden age servers have been a blast for me the last few weeks, D12, M12 the other day i lost my a brig in combat in L3 against ship cannon brig that got me in a bad spot with non existent wind. None of the brigs( and we are talking about 16 brigs sunk in 1v1 combat, much more fights with just planks/pieces lost in the fight ) i had fought/sunk these weeks were full rear or front/rear ships... they were common 3 months ago, not any more.
  19. What they've shown in the video is a game killer for me. Also that tortugar thing looks completely op compared to anything we have now.
  20. Agree man, they should remove most of the water and sail ships from the game and focus more on tamagotchis, i mean tames. And switch the name to arklas, i forgot that.
  21. I know in most cases you would be right but, considering what i've seen so far, the more likely scenario is that a group of 20-30 is composed 80-90% of pve players that ocasionally like to pvp. If the group of 5 are hardcore pvp players with home advantage, i'd like their chances. i'm not including myself in any of those groups, im just trying to say that fortunately, on this scale skills might actually matter too.
  22. As stupid is to have servers for every group size, is to force them to compete for the same things, the same land and the same meta for everyone, be it a casual solo guy or a clan of 500.
  23. The way this game gets empty all i would expect from now on is reskinned ark crap, forget about piracy and sandbox MMO stuff. All we are gonna get is more tamagotchis to breed and minecraft style things to build bases so people can raid them and steal what's inside.
  24. First 25-30 levels are easy and fast, starting by 10 EXP from level 1 to 2, and then 10 more than the previous one every level after that up to level 23-34 i don't remember well. Then the thing skyrockets and it is like 15-20% extra exp more than the previous level at least up to level 37 which is the max level we had so far on one of our ships. Among other reasons Imo they've obviously done that so better quality shipyards are not so op. If leveling was like before, imagine a company that gets one lucky roll of one mythic shipyard bp that gives you 5-6 extra levels over the average one, every ship of that company would be better than their enemies/oponents just because of rng. I really like how they solved this issue.
