  1. Also you do not have to kill the Hyrda. Just need to be in range when its killed. We have teamed up with other companies to kill it and the dragon since we all showed up at the same time. Might as well work together and everyone gets a key. Hint: Keys can be used at any Powerstone Island. The keys have a 2 hour decay timer so as long as you can get to a PS in another zone they key can be used. I've used this solo on Dragon islands since Dragons are more difficult to solo. It can be done with a properly setup ship, but just easier to grab extra keys at a Hydra island.
  2. I think there is a miscommunication here. When are you seeing these names? Joins to the server? Above players heads? Are you not seeing their actual player names? Is this on server joins only? Do you see player names above players? A screen shot of what you are talking about would be handy. If you are trying to build a case for Xbox only servers just drop it. Not happening. They already dropped the ball big time by splitting the player base up into hundreds of servers.
  3. He stopped playing the game a long time ago. He now spends his time sh!tting all over the game. Mental health is a concern with this one because no rational sane person does what he does.
  4. Just remember that there are two sets of settings here. NPC behavior Mountable weapon behavior NPC's inherit the behavior of the weapon they mount. This allows for more control and can come in handy. Cannons should be set to "Ships Only". Most good captains don't use the auto-aim/fire. They manually aim and fire the cannons for the most effective damage whether its aiming for a specific part of a players ship or shooting SoTD at max range (NPC's won't fire at max range no matter the settings).
  5. I wish they would make the large walls snap to foundations or ceiling tiles. My OCD gets to me when I am placing them. As to the suggestion for limiting resource strain on the server/client that would probably work. Might not be as pretty as a road following the contours of the land, but would get the job done.
  6. Please submit a bug report in the bug report section. This might not be seen and fixed since its in the general forums for random conversations.
  7. Always approach the tame from the leg side. Pretty universal approach for most tames. Inch in very carefully. If this still does not work you either have the wrong food in the hotbar (has to be in slot 0) or its bugged. If everyone having this issue has the right food and its in the hotbar properly.......does Xbox have a hotbar with 1 though 0? Just realized that could be completely different for Xbox players. Anyway it needs to have the right food in the right hotbar. As I said its "0" for PC players. If you approach them from the back side and try to feed from the top/back area of the head many tames including elephants do not work.
  8. The beautiful part of being in a midsize or large company in a like minded alliance is PvP happens when you are online almost every single night. Offline raiding does not exist to us since we have the entire counter covered. Sure we have remote farm bases broken into with nobody around, but we build and use them in a way that it does not really matter. I can rebuild it in minutes and if needed we can grab new tames. The mats we get from these posts far outweighs any loss we feel when its broken into.
  9. Many of the players who benefited from this and have the devs ears so to speak complained about it. They knew it was a bad implementation. They knew it was unfair to smaller companies. They used it to prove this point and to remain competitive with the other large companies. Got to balance the short term and long term. I won't prove it. You can take my word for it or ignore it. I really don't care.
  10. While it would look cool if it was contoured to match the ground I can see this being abused and taking a sizeable effort on the devs part to implement. Static structures that snap into place versus something that needs to change shape based off the contours of the map are totally different. Each one would need a custom shape and hitbox. If can be done, but I am betting that would be quite a bit of strain on the servers and their network as all that extra data is transmitted to clients.
  11. The cannon has to snap in place. If you place it without it snapping into place it will NOT work. Also take a screen shot of your cannon setups inside the ship. Maybe we can gleam some additional info from that.
  12. I am going to keep posting this until the devs either take parts or all of this or make a change to alleviate these issues. Shadowbane had it right. PvP at all times in all places except for a couple of towns. Atlas equivalent is a Freeport. All player built structures safe 24/7. Want to tear down your nemesis's walls? Build a bane stone at a fairly significant cost. Bane stones take awhile to make as well. Don't remember the time, but I thought it was hours. Once build take bane stone to their town and place it in range of the town you want to destroy. Once placed the owner of this town is notified they have been baned and have a certain amount of time (24 hours I think) to acknowledge this and choose the time the bane will start. Once the bane starts the bane stone becomes vulnerable to damage. The bane continues until the stone is destroyed or the Tree Of Life is destroyed. I've seen banes last 10 minutes and others last 8 hours due to the fight being very even and full of motivated individuals. Take above and replace Bane stones with a War declaration. Make a player built structure that acts as a bane stone and use similar game mechanics. When a war dec is placed it affects the entire island sphere of influence as war decs do now. This allowed people to go out and farm, raid, explore without fear of losing their homes. This promotes player to player PvP and in Atlas's case ship PvP along with PvP on land. Sure there will be griefers if this was implemented, but they are much easier to deal with in this case since they cannot destroy your base or sink green anchored ships. They are being annoying? Stay in your base or fast travel somewhere else. Trolls are dealt with by not feeding them.
  13. 100 INT. Picked up a 17 or so quality bottle last night. It was a 27.3 map. Usually I get an extra 2-6 quality. Never had one 10 points higher. I see no rhyme or reason to it.
  14. That is what makes games like this great. We build the story. The players. Sure there is a back drop. A history and maybe some ongoing story to it designed by the devs, but the main story is the one we write. These guys need to take a lesson from Eve in that regard. PvP servers are littered with amazing building projects, logistics, death, destruction, victory and defeat. Alliances form, they crumble, they reorganize and rebuild former glory. Many of these things happen in smaller sections of the overall world of Atlas and all of them build a picture. Want to pull more people in this is the story that needs to be told.

  16. Part of the charm of this game. Goofy shit happens all the time when interacting with others. The important part. Human interaction.
  17. I always run 100 INT (which is base) and every single map I pickup has a higher quality rating then what was shown by looking at it.
  18. He said they built walls around like a castle. This leads me to believe they have a open courtyard. He mentioned spamming foundations, but that's not going to do it. Its still open land. If you want to stop the spawns it needs to be a complete enclosed structure. Tames should always be inside completely covered enclosures with perfectly snapped foundations or lifted off the ground otherwise you will continue to have this issue.
  19. More layers, more defenses, people to defend when you aren't on. In other words merge with a company that can protect its assets.
  20. If nothing is blocking them (or even placed around them) and they snapped into position when placed and your firing groups are setup right then its possible its a bug. I'd report what game mode you are playing. If its multiple player which server? Might be specific to the game mode and/or server.
  21. Nope, missed that. I don't have a good answer for you. Best course of action would probably be to remove and redownload game since it seems you have multiple issues.
