Not anymore, anchored ships are not damaged by sotds anymore unless they agroed them. Even if you could I personally wouldn't do it, im not a fan of exploting, even if it is justified

Protip, if you place a map on your hotbar, the timer pauses, even when logged out, so you can keep up to 10 maps for as long as you need

There's nothing you can do but wait for the devs to come up with a solution, we've had a sloop in the way of our dock project for well over a month. Oddly it moved 10 feet over the weekend but is still in the way. Not sure if the owner moved it or it moved due to some type of bug though.

I like meeting people to trade, checking out their base and making new friends. And the npc shops will be cool, but I'd rather trade for foreign resources instead of gold and it looks like the shops will be based on gold. I have more then enough gold to pay my npcs for a year, lol

We also only use our galleon as a freighter/mobile base in pve and use schooners/brigs for sod killing. I love the galleon as a mobile base, Im pretty sure its bigger then my base, lol, but I dont think I'll ever put cannons on it.

I'd love to see some type of curior system like Eve has, with a collateral/reward system. You could choose to be honest and deliver the package and get your reward and collateral back, or be a pirate and steal the package, losing collateral, but hoping whats inside is worth more then the collateral. Would also open up ganking freighters on pvp servers, maybe make it so you have to board the ship in order to steal the package. If you just sink the ship it gets destroyed.

I'm more annoyed when your just about kill a warrior and then it goes underground and pops back up with full health...several times in a row no matter how close you are to it. Not a big deal when using a bear but kind of sucks when your in a spot you can't use a bear.

The do still shoot you in pve, this morning it seemed like they were making up for not shooting us last night, lol. Our freight galleon took a few dozen hits on our way home, they were so thick in areas it was impossible to avoid. People have started farming them in our home grid (including us) and that does help keep the numbers down

Sotd were acting strange tonight, i came in contact with 2 or 3 with my gally right in a row, they showed a health bar like they were agroing, but never fired a shot

Northern most island in A11 has large amounts of ground thatch. An ally said he got 20k in a short time frame with his bear. We are headed there ourselves tomorrow

I hope it has some type of platform that you can attach to brigs and galleons, kind of like dingy docks. Even just galleons if its on the larger size

I'm in. I'm in a small company with my wife and 2 brothers and we love meeting and trading with people.

I'm fine with the fog, cold is managable with fires/fur, but heat could be toned done a bit, or give us better cloths to deal with it, but my biggest weather gripe is the amount of cyclones. Sure, brig down they are fairly easy to avoid, but in a galleon not so much. The first storm I went through in our galleon (also our maiden voyage with it) after the damage increase we hit 3 or 4 cyclones, then had to stop for half an hour to repair and then replenish our resource box because it blew through 4k wood, thatch and fiber.

They do still function, atleast on sails, haven't tried cannons yet

Your ships will be safe as long as they are anchored (well unless someone griefs with sotds). I'd put your valuable in storage boxes around your base on the ground. Worse case your base gets deleted but your valuables would be safe and hopefully the storage boxes keep people from stealing your spot. Load up a trough with food just before you leave and most of your animals should be good. Veggies last a long time in troughs. My neighbors moved away (or quit) and left their base and animals and their animals went over 6 days till someone demolished the base and the animals ended up being killed by alphas.

It seems to me the anchor depth is determind by the bow for most ships. If I pull into my parking spaces bow first, I can anchor a lot farther out then if I back in. I do feel it should be based on your stern's position since we all tend to back in for a quick exit anyways

This just happened to our galleon 20 minutes ago. My heart sunk when I looked out my window and it was gone. But then I looked at my map remembering this thread and it was at the border of the next square. So I fast traveled to it and it was anchored in open ocean and in 1 piece, although one of our npc crew was gone. I sailed it home without issues but I couldnt believe it

Try the side instead of the back. I had a bear or 2 vanish using the command so I started having them follow me up the side of the ship and haven't had it happen again nor had them get stuck in anything. Did this probably a 100 times over the weekend loading and offloading my galleon with no issues

I aggroed about 10 sotd with my galleon this morning and I noticed there was a delay between taking agro and them firing the first shot. Enough of a delay that I'm pretty much out of their firing range by the time they take the first shot. I think I only took 1 or 2 cannon balls this morning.

The storm change was a great introduction to galleon repair cost for us. Took our gally on its maiden voyage (pve) today, went through 1 storm and hit 5 or 6 cyclones and blew through 4k thatch, wood and fiber to repair, lol. Atleast the next 2 times it rained there were no cyclones.

How much for a high lvl bear? I'm actually going to Fallcaster Saturday morning to trade with some friends.
