  1. you know what though man i don't run speeds on my schoon that often maybe i'm wrong.. pretty sure handling sails are not faster than speeds regardless tho
  2. all i'm going to say is i've had my schoon loaded at 30% and my brig at 30% ...and i have absolutely never seen my schoon reach anything close to the speeds on my brig. also i'm pretty sure the acceleration on handling sails thing was disproven, and if it was that way, i don't think it is now that acceleration was capped.
  3. ok first off to the guy who admits to aimbotting...lame dude. second off, why can't you name who you think is aimbotting?
  4. i should say FLASHING is more accurate. the screen flashes bright very quickly.
  5. any word on this? i have weird flickering as well. just upgraded to 2060 super and am having gamma like flicker up to max then down back or something? also have seen those black lines
  6. Yeah that's exactly what i just said in my post which shows bows/arrows can be stronger than certain calibers, and moreso better for specific object penetration. Also bows are not better in PvE lol.. you can 1 shot most things with a carbine.
  7. It's be cool if the accordian song boosted gold amount as well So more mats, kind of like Ark fishing? Sounds good to me. What about a rare chance for a T-Map ... maybe chance for small item or a bit of keratin (since fish eat bugs)
  8. if this were true then i wouldn't see brigs getting 13+ knots with combat loadouts, easily outpacing my schoon. there are definitely a lot of other factors here or they recently seriously nerfed top speed for large handling sails
  9. just to clarify here but the quality of sail absolutely does not affect TOP SPEED. Waves might affect top speed but they coincide with high winds so.. yeah.
  10. *casts Necro-mancy spell, revive post* I just want to chime in here on the "guns vs arrows" irl debate. There actually are advantages to some high draw weight bows vs low caliber rounds, simply because of the mass of the arrow. it has nothing to do with how long it is or whatever was said, it's just the mass. For penetration into certain objects, bows will win out.. and this will be true up until you get to very high caliber rounds. There was some interesting work done on this in many youtube videos and also on mythbusters. They found simple things like phone books, or about 1-2 ft of water would completely negate the kinetic force of a bullet to the extent that it would no longer penetrate ballistics gel (which represents human flesh). Please keep in mind though these arguments are irrelevant when you get up to .50 cal, and that it is round dependent. I'd like to see work done with muskets though since my understanding is the mass of the shots were pretty substantial, but had sometimes inconsistent accuracy and range. I mean even the powder would vary back in those days, and moisture was an issue.. at least up until the days of Lewis and Clark (I read about some special container or something they got from someone on the trip that allowed them to keep their powder dry while on the rivers) ANYWAYS, In game, i'd say even now (March 8, 2020) that there are huge advantages to guns. Bows are cheaper, yeah, but once you're established firearms are a nice luxury.. carbines one-shot most wildlife with headshots and you can snipe them from way out.
  11. Surprised you didn't get more feedback. I've talked about this at lengths with some pretty big company leaders, at least before N3 + alliance members fell a few months back. Their, and my feelings, were mutual about this. There is currently, even for large companies, absolutely no way to secure ships while offline. It requires active patrolling and members babysitting/guarding the island each combat phase. Features that I also think should be included: A stable master. Just look at how they did it in Ultima Online, 20 years ago. Just pay the NPC some gold and your tame disappears into their storage. They'll store them for a period of time, and it costs gold upkeep. A dry dock, docks or rental space for ships. This was something a friend of mine spoke about avidly. His corp had 20 or more actives, ludicrous amounts of puckles, cannons, walls and port defenses.. but he said essentially what I just did before. More or less, there's no way to secure ships against land assaults or clever/cheesey ship tactics. Even massive numbers of actives don't prevent big losses. Better Merchant Systems The player shops upkeep are too expensive, decay too fast and are limiting. An Inn, or a Tavern And just other cool things to spend gold on. These features would help give value to gold as well, because outside of island and npc upkeep frankly, gold is worthless. I actually let ~30,000 I had stashed decay because after our island fell there was no reason to even have it. No Island upkeep? No hundreds of crew to pay? Welp. It's just several tons of paperweight at that point.
  12. I KNOW WHAT WE SHOULD DO! Lets add motors to the ships so they go faster! Next dlc we can have giant glowing ice creatures that shoot lasers out of their eyes and can fly across the map in 2 hops... err.. wait. Lol
  13. No you got shot down because that's a ****ing terrible idea. Sailing requires wind, that's kind of the whole thing
  14. This is the funniest post ive ever seen on here ahahhahahaah
  15. I had one time i saw my bear float up in the air during a cyclone... damn near had a heart attack. Hit the zoneline fast and she came back. Whew. Haven't had any tames disappear.. have had some crew fall off here and there though.
  16. They just ported over some of the assets? the game is completely different. It plays like a porsche compared to a honda civic. Building is way more fluid, foundations stack and line themselves up, huge working boats with proper collisions ... An actual real economy. Yeah.
  17. This is the final season, "this will be the final wipe" on global chat before the last one. I'd say yeah you're probably good to play now... huge posts on how they don't plan to do it again. I'd say a wipe seems maybe only slightly more likely than one on Arks official servers with launch of Genesis (i.e. very unlikely). Don't see what legacy ark has to do with atlas, especially considering 1 "server" of Atlas is 225 servers of ark. Each region of Atlas is like an Ark map. Logistically completely different.
  18. @Jatheish that'd be pretty dope. Different bonuses for different events sounds like a nice change. On pvp it'd change who's doing what and where. Looking forward to it now that it seems like 2x events are trailing off
  19. So you're going to let us replace the flag again, for all of us that promptly complied with the "move flag asap" request?
  20. Psh yea, i mean that stuff really is nonsense.
