  1. Bear - no comment Chicken - scaling? Cow - nothing Bull - add cargo saddle, thatch gathering (main) Crow - scale int with level, give buff to gold from shoveling Razortooth - N/A Shieldhorn - N/A Elephant - no comment Giant Pig - shovel-like harvesting Giraffe - no comment Horse - no comment Lion - no comment Monkey - allow small tasks on ships to buff different things/allow some crew tasks Ostrich - thatch gathering (medium) Parrot - increased effectiveness of drinks/less exhaustion Penguin - insulate babies Rabbit - hand gathering buff (scaling) Rhino - allow metal from rocks, Seagull - add coral/pearl gathering buff (scaling) Sheep - hypothermal buff when riding, fiber/hide hybrid Tiger - no comment Vulture - buff to meat gathering Wolf - increased imprinted buff
  2. No, you can tame Wolf, Birds, Horses etc on Golden Age Ruin, However You Cannot tame Bears, Tigers, Lions (Useful Animals) etc on the Ruins. This is tried and tested! Enjoy! However You can tame Razor Tooth and Shieldhorn, However their max level is Level 30 (So pretty useless.)!
  3. Had a new Idea! Bee Keeping! So... I was gathering honey to take advantage of the wonderful 3x taming... and it crossed my mind that it would be cool as all get out if we could bee keep. Not like the bees in Ark, I'm over that. But full on bee keeping. Having to hit the honey comb until you get a queen and a mini game of catching her in a jar? You'd have to build a hive for them, and when you wanted to collect you'd have a smoker with a mini-game and if you messed up you'd get stung unless there was a bee keeping suit maybe? Maybe no suit cause that'd be funny to watch, mess your team mates up on purpose and watch them run, being chased by bees.... I haven't read any above comments so there may be overlapping suggestions. Bare in mind, tames are not y'alls focus, but some of us came just for that. I am one such fan base. I don't like ocean/sailing, fighting. I like farming and breeding. I followed friends over to Atlas and we have tons of fun even with me not being involved in the "pirate" aspects. Beyond playing with a mortar for kicks and giggles. :3 Bear - Honestly love it, though it'd be nice to have an option to select what I gather. Going for fiber and have to drop 5k berry s every few seconds gets old fast. And not just the bear, just about every other gathering tame. It is slow lumbering but that's understandable, and I love that it eats berry's along with meat. Wolf - Oh my holy no. My poor wolves attack EVERYTHING. Its nearly impossible to get one, let alone a prime leveled one. IF you can find one not attacking something and ergo getting killed, (cause the nerf has rendered them impotent), then you have to hope you can get it to a trap without it aggroing to something. And if you get it tamed, then it just sits in your base, useless. It can't hold a candle to the tiger and bear. Bulls- I wish they had more of a use beyond impregnating my cows and eating all the food. Lol, lazy bums. I'd say thatch but I really want Giraffes to do that and I'd cry if they became more useless. ( Addition, what about have farms that after being laid, could be 2X2 size? Has to ACTUALLY need to be plowed, and you have the cows on wander fertilizing it.... though in real life they'd eat it all... so maybe you can make farm land that lines up and plant grass/hay that could continue growing/feeding the cows as they made fertilizer that would gather in the plot, then you'd take it out and go use it on your vegetable/fruit plots...) Elephant - Love the weight, hate the stamina. Not only does it blow through it quick it takes a horribly long time to get it back. Also another creature that I wish I could have an option to opt out of berry's when gathering wood. Pig - I actually like the pigs, they look neat and the tusks are awesome. But, they have no purpose beyond fertilizer. Real life hogs are dangerous and can gore you with tusks and are known to be quite good at finding mushrooms/truffles. Giraffe - Change nothing beyond the berry option thing. LOVE THEM! So beautiful. Though I wish all the tames were easier to paint more complex designs on, everything gets all blurry and mushed in the transfer. Can you imagine a galaxy painted giraffe? I legit paid $20 for a galaxy painted tiger. I would for a giraffe the moment it came out. Horse - love them except the AI when trying to chase them down to tame. They always go for water. Maybe if you could grapple them with multiple people or use a lasso to passive tame it or bola it? Lion - I adore Lions, except that its just for how they look. They don't have bleed like Tigers, and they don't have knock back like Bears, so mine mainly sit around. No real use. Ostrich - I love them except they have no purpose beyond running around, which I use a horse for since their weight is AMAZING. So Ostrich is just for a pretty bird. Maybe if the had a nest to incubate eggs for you? Penguin - Cute, snuggle crazy but apparently don't help temps when raising baby's so that's all they're good for. Rabbit - please give these a purpose, insulation, a buff anything. I love them, and have a severe hoarding issue with them but with them being useless my company mates are not amused. And maybe nerf their size? It's very distracting seeing a rabbit the size of a dog awkwardly sitting atop my shoulder though it has tempted me to see if my dog would be able to perform such a feat. A few possible creature additions along with a more detailed explanation of painting possibilities. Tames/Mobs: Deer - could act as a passive tame, and passive gathering or a passive heal ability Foxes - Cute, popular, passive tame, could "fetch" things, or act as an insulator. Would be exceedingly neat if they could wrap around a players neck like an Otter. Dogs - many breeds to choose from but I could easily see a type of herding dog, Pyrenees to help herd animals, Wolfhound to help hunt wolves and other large creatures, or German Shepard's as attack dogs. Cats - could use to hunt rats, could also act as a insulator, could use as a small creature to snag other small animals, (kind of like a living bola). Rats - Mob, aggressive, small and hard to hit, could infect with diseases Goats - Good for milk and butter, passive tame, could be carried on shoulders. Ferrets/Weasel - could fetch, dig and be worn for insulation. Peacock - Shoulder pet, passive, could add a cooling affect, or a stat buff. Hawk - Attack buff, also could be used as an attack pet to heckle other players or wild creatures. Owl - Could also be used as a living bola, hunt rats, and add a cooling buff. Game Content for Tames: Blankets - could be used to warm baby animals or players could soak in water barrels to cool off baby animals. Hay - used as bedding for baby animals to keep warm. Fan - could be held by player and used to cool off baby animals. Bottle - could use cows or goats milk to feed baby animals to increase imprint and to also emphasize the usefulness of tames. Brush - could be used on horses and sheep alike, to increase affection points?, and also to groom the sheep to get higher quality wool. Armor for Tames - could implement many different kinds of armor for tames, making them customizable with paints, and different quality's for designs. This could really make a MMO feeling, in my favorite MMO's the thing I loved most was customization. Yeah we all had the same tools to design our characters BUT what made it yours was finding that color combo, that armor, and for our companions that armor, that really made it OURS. Affection Points - could have an affection meter for tames, not just imprint on them for a buff, but an active meter to pet, groom and feed your tame for a lasting affection boost. I realize this would make for a difficult build but it would give an edge over Ark while still allowing those of us into the more docile side of Atlas find a niche all our own. FOY potion for tames - a potion made in the the FOY used on tames to reverse them to their baby stage and enable them to be carried on your shoulders. Only select tames, and make it a complicated recipe.
  4. There are successful MMO's and then there are those that crash and burn. In my many years of gaming I have found an axiom that holds true to most all of these. Game content facilitates human interaction which is the key to a game's survival. Nobody is playing single player games from 20 years ago. The content runs out and you're left with nothing to do. But, I can point you to a purely text-based MUD that has be running for almost 20 years. The reason it survives is that it has a deep content system that allows players vast choices in how they build their character. This depth then facilitates the PVP and PVE interactions. To me, human interaction, whether through triumphs or foibles, is more entertaining than anything the dev's can come up with. You can only whack a wolf so many times before it becomes boring. Your buddy flying naked across the lawn, slamming head first into trees because he accidentally punched an alpha pig who's now head-butting him like a soccer ball is priceless. There is a reason why streamers are watched as avidly as they are. It's not because of the game content they're playing. If it were, people would just play the game themselves. It's the comedy, the tragedy, the unexpected events in the course of their play that make you fall out of your chair laughing. It's the events that make you look close at your monitor and go, "oh bullshit." It's all about the drama. “What is drama but life with the dull bits cut out.” - Alfred Hitchcock A good MMO facilitates drama. Atlas does that now. To succeed, it needs to facilitate it even more.
  5. I think the elephant is the worst, needs a boost to stamina regeneration, you literally have to sit there for about 20 - 30 minutes, waiting for it to regen fully. The Wolf is fairly useless due to its low health pool, stamina and weight, i believe the worst of them is the weight, they can maybe hold 2 - 3 stacks of hide. The Bull is rather useless in general, it has no desired item collection, possibly adding it as a thatch collector would make sense? All shoulder pets need a fix as they fly off your boat when transferring servers if you forget to take them off your shoulder , which is 90% of the time. Penguins could use a boost to Area of effect insulation, as the range is terrible, and i currently have about 30 penguins which seem to do almost nothing for breeding, and eat fish like a humpback whale. Rhino could use a weight beef, is annoying only being able to carry a small amount of stone or metal. Also i currently take advantage of this myself, but i can see an issue becoming of allowing people to leave animals in the freeport, i currently have a an elephant a bear and 2 wolfs sitting in the freeport, i keep them there so i dont have to carry the extra weight back and forth, but i can see it becoming an issue with a very high decay timer, it is no problem for me to even log into that freeport once a day to make sure my timer gets reset and my animals do not die of starvation :D. essentially it gives me a free safezone for my farming animals, that other players will never be able to kill, not sure that is the intention but it most definitely works :D.
  6. Haven't had chance to read through everything but I think it'd be cool if you can add something to the bottom of Beast Mastery skill tree that lets you share a skill with the tame on your shoulder. Like Crow can refresh your skills instantly or make you respec. As everyone mentioned the seagull can either fish or warn about weather conditions. Monkey can be sent to fetch "lost" or glitched out tames if you nearby them. I also think it would be nice to have formations for tames be it NPC Crew or Rhino's/Bears/Tigers etc. to be able to go out and adventure with a herd/pack of animals that defend you or gather what ever you are gathering. (If I have 3 Rhino's for example, Ride one and have 2 following the one I ride they mimic what ever it does with in limits)(Or if I'm on a wolf and tamed a pack they all attack incoming threats) formation example below: (Tame) (Tame) (Tame) (Tame) (You) (Tame) (Tame) (Tame) (Tame) Tier of animal should also matter more like a lvl 4 wolf shouldn't hold a candle to a lvl 4 tiger/lion. Which also covers the fact that a wolf tame dies to a sheep 2 lvls higher than it. (My wolf with a company member - Wasn't there but the message stung hard) Lastly I saw this mentioned but an armour slot for some tames... I don't want a monkey in plate armour but a horse? Yes please! Please please please have a perch for shoulder animals for when you log out that can also be placed on a ship... This might also help "cement" where the creature is when you log off so the don't go missing Thanks for an Awsome game and keep up the good work. Many hours of fun has been had!
  7. - Animals with specialized gathering skills should get some weight reduction for their primary resource, at least the heaviest of wood/stone/metal. - Different animals should get a different increase for specific stats based on their general utility. I.e. points into melee for a bear should yield a higher %increase than points into melee for a horse. Points into HP on an elephant should yield a higher %increase than HP points into a wolf. - Rhinos should have higher base carrying capacity. Horses should have lower. - Someone else said this, but Crows being able to pick up maps would be great.
  8. Before the individual creatures, I have a couple of suggestions for across the board; First, reduce the overall lethality of animals. Dinosaurs dominated everything in ARK, and in ATLAS they kill players in any kind of number far faster than guns or flame. The PvP in this game will suffer for it if they're not brought to heel as the ongoing weapon balance progresses, and the thematic vision of a pirate world will be lost if guns continue to become less lethal versus a pet bear. Most things should die, or be nearly dead, if shot in the head - with the exception of armoured people and creatures. Secondly, introduce a leash or patrol system. The leash added in Extinction was a good step, to allow certain creatures to move about enough to deal with wild dino attacks. It would be nice if we could allow high level creatures to patrol and deal with alphas (that are still managing to get inside locked buildings). --- Bears would be perfect as they are with the item exclusion system. Chickens, Cows, and Sheep are fine where they are. The male chicken could be more aggressive, like a bull. And make it Cockadoodledoo at 6am Crows, and all shoulder pets, would benefit from wild and domesticated animals being less lethal. Bulls, Elephants, and Horses should have the option to pull cargo wagons for large scale hauling at different tiers. Pig - on wander or follow, it should be able to search for vegetables and things you would find by digging, depending on the climate you're in. Giraffe would be a great candidate for thatch gathering. Ostrich needs to kick with its legs and do more appropriate damage as such. Those would hurt a lot more than being pecked. Rhino could benefit from damage protection from melee sources, to make it dual purpose dealing with wild animals as well as rock gathering. Lion, Tiger, and Wolf - for the love of all that is holy, stop with the obnoxious knockback. Also, our armour needs to have more effect against predators generally. They would be ideal candidates for patrolling/wandering if a leash/patrol system was implemented. Shieldhorn and Razortooth - they're fine IMO. Go easy on adding dinosaurs to this game.
  9. Bear - gather honey and make immune to bee.... Chicken - add slaughter option to add to a cooking recipes FEAST capable of feeding whole companies much like a feast in WoW Cow - add slaughter option to add to a cooking recipes FEAST capable of feeding whole companies much like a feast in WoW - add cargo carry multiple cows on one cart more cow bell! Bull - add weight add rage to them add bull riding at freeport with fishing type game for records to be posted at freeport of top riders Crow - make worms last longer by using a bucket and filling it with soil to make talking easier Razortooth - remove the 20 fear from in pvp or the fear should only be castable once every 4 or 5 min as a special ability. Also make a talent where tier 3 commands has to be taken to use these types of abilities. Shieldhorn - Elephant - regen stamina faster Giant Pig - add slaughter option to add to a cooking recipes FEAST capable of feeding whole companies much like a feast in WoW - add mushrooms as recipes where boar can only find them. Truffle hunting Giraffe - make a better thatch gathering Horse - add more cargo carts for hauling resources around island multi horse cart Lion - give back ability to pick up same sized animals Monkey - fine where it is Ostrich - add in race track building so we can do some races. Where jockey can go to freeport and race others for bets gold or resources and give talents to build them as such Parrot - add mimic to parrot to make it repeat words spoken in local chat limited Penguin - fine where it is Rabbit - add slaughter option to add to a cooking recipes FEAST capable of feeding whole companies much like a feast in WoW Rhino - add more weight add ability to damage stone at a reduced weight Seagull - add reduced fog of war on sea and give ability to fly high into the sea to give you a limited 2 min buff that shows all near by in quarter tile enemy ships Sheep - add slaughter option to add to a cooking recipes FEAST capable of feeding whole companies much like a feast in WoW Tiger - add 400 health more than lion Vulture - show health bars of near by wildlife and enemy or give predator vision to allied players of low health enemy Wolf - add 200 more health base
  10. Bear: Already one of the most used tames, doesn't need any help. Chicken: Simple recipe (steak and eggs) for new players. Cow: Maybe some type of herd buff, so raising cattle would have a point. Bull: This is a big one, Bull should gather thatch well. Why in the world is Thatch a choke point in this game lol. Crow: Maybe a buff that finds dead bodies in the nearby area, since crows irl are kinda sketchy creatures. But with the intelligence buff they already have, not totally needed. Razortooth: No change needed, they are pretty good as is. Shieldhorn: Should be the epic Thatch gatherer! Elephant: Already pretty good as is. Giant Pig: New phiomia is fine. Giraffe: A pve buff would be nice, otherwise there isnt really a need to see other peoples territory markers farther out. Even on PVP who really uses that feature... Horse: Already pretty good, but would be nice to see something like the lasso from Ark to make it more fun. Lion: Seriously, the grab attack doesn't work on PVE. Monkey: Again, doesn't throw poop on PVE, maybe some sort of passive buff would be nice. (Side note, people rarely use shoulder mounts because they die so easy) Ostrich: Pretty good mount as is. Parrot: Fine as is. Penguin: Fine as is, I don't expect much from a penguin. Rabbit: SOMETHING, this needs a buff, or reason to have this evil looking creature on your shoulder. Maybe it would be easy to breed them, for noob food or something. Rhino: Should get some metal from normal nodes, just like you do with a pickaxe. Seagull: Should have a sea buff, so you really want one on your shoulder out at sea. Otherwise no one tames these. Sheep: Pretty good as is, more stam though. Tiger: Slight faster would be nice, but otherwise good. Vulture: An ability that goes along with corpses, or maybe you get a buff when you feed it spoiled meat. Something. Wolf: Not too bad, but should really have the pack buffs/abilities from Ark. That was awesome.
  11. Bear - In a good place ATM Chicken - In a good place ATM Cow - The only complaint is that I can't ride them to move them around. make it so that you need the sheltered buff to ride them. just to make my OCD happy Bull - Needs to gather thatch from trees the way a pickaxe does. an elephant mimics the hatchet, you need an animal that mimics the pickaxe in terms of gathering. Crow - Let the crow have a small chance to pick locks of boxes without the shelter buff. Would love to see what's inside those lonely large boxes all over lawless islands. Razortooth - Can't comment Shieldhorn - Can't comment Elephant - The only complaint is that its stamina regen is a little too low. it needs to regen like the bear or rhino. Giant Pig - Truffle hunt while on wander. make any recipe with truffles and have the buff be 2x longer. Giraffe - Can't comment Horse - Slow it down just a little. make a horse a passive tame. shouldn't have to get a horse stuck somewhere to tame it. Lion - buff damage a little to bring it in line with the predator type tames. Monkey - make the monkey do secure trades for traders. not make him carry a ton but some mechanic to help traders feel a little bit safer. Ostrich - Can't comment Parrot - give a gold buff when digging in open ground. not for treasure maps but make digging with the shovel a little more interesting. Penguin - insulate better. there needs to be an animal that works like a temperature regulator as the AC did in ark. I think the penguin would fit that perfectly. Rabbit - give it a run speed increase. to make the rabbit like the jerboa from SE was a good idea but it needs to be worth taming. Rhino - make it reduce stone/flint/metal weight a little. right now the rhino is decent but it needs a little help. Seagull - remove fog of war or reduce fog Sheep - works fine IMO Tiger - needs to be almost as fast as a horse but faster than a wolf. should have a stealth buff against wild animals Vulture - should gather meat for you within a reasonable radius Wolf - give the wolves a pack buff. make it worth it to travel with 2 or 3. Across the board, tames need to be breedable. I know it has been stated that this will be looked at but I really feel like this should be a little easier. sitting in a house and turning on/off fires and grills for 48 hours to breed a bear is not worth it right now. I would rather suck it up and go hunt for a 29 or 30 wild bear and tame on a 2x weekend. Give the AI crew the ability to automate some of the base daily tasks, milk cows, shear sheep, collect eggs and/or poop. this QOL change would help a ton of companies make the game feel less like farmville and more like an MMO. The tames should something that players want to use and not curse every day they log in to feed them. Thanks for taking the time to listen to the players. we definitely appreciate that!
  12. Bull - Should be able to pull carts Giraffe - Currently pretty useless Horse - Would love a tighter turn radius, and also they should be a passive tame, or we need lassos. Penguin - Temp regulation should work on tames, I've heard it doesn't. Seagull - Somebody mentioned a weather alert system, I love that idea. +1 Wolf - Nerfed way too much. They need a weight, health, and damage buff, they're hardly usable and not at all worth taming anymore. Which stinks because they'd be my favorite otherwise.
  13. Bear Move to Tier 3 this tame outclasses the tiger and lion easily. Chicken No changes to them just would like to have a structure to put them in that I can pay a gold cost to have auto collect turned on for them. Otherwise it's an all day job to collect their eggs which is only fun for so long. Cow Same as chicken no changes just a structure that can automate the collection of their resources(milk) for a gold cost. Bull Increase thatch harvest rate a bit. Crow Fix collision issues when taming, right now they are a bit glitchy with structures when you try to tame them. Razortooth These things are weak, these should feel like a threat and they really don't. Shieldhorn This is literally a trike from Ark. Movement style everything matches right up. A few changes to make it a bit more unique than that and move away from the berry gatherer that it is. Elephant Good as it is, gathers a ton of wood so that makes construction of ships easier. Giant Pig Honestly not sure on this one, I've tamed it and it doesn't really seem worth the waste of maize to tame let alone berries. It's weak and stamina deficient and can poop command, other than that it's one job of berry gathering is outclassed by most other tames in it's tier currently. It needs a job to be useful or at least enable the saddle option(don't require it) so that it can get some armor. Giraffe This things pretty awesome as it is. Horse Good as it is Lion Weak as it gets, needs buffed or reduced in class or simply made untameable and used as an aggressive mob that we have to just deal with. Also remove the grab from the damn alpha that's just ridiculously OP. Monkey The healing buff is pretty OP, doesn't quite outclass the medikits but does a good job on it's own. Ostrich Super fast, perhaps a bit more HP(~5%) and reduced weight. Otherwise this thing is a great travel mount. Parrot Good as it is, collision issues need fixed just like the crow. Penguin Has no affect on breeding, if they are intended to help with this then they definitely need to have expanded range on their ability and impact tames. Rabbit Has no ability, is currently just a cute shoulder pet(I personally like them). It seems like it would make sense to give this thing something related to either luck or it's ears being used as a weather radar though since I'm not sure how "luck" is currently calculated. Perhaps a mild luck bonus for treasure hunting. Rhino Good as it is. Seagull Good as it is, collision issues need fixed just like the crow. Sheep Same as chicken no changes just a structure that can automate the collection of their resources(fleece) for a gold cost. Tiger Same as lion, this thing is super weak, needs either buffed or made into a lower class(tier 2). Vulture Haven't tamed but it's a bird so probably has the same collision issues. Wolf This thing got nerfed to hell and gets used as a chew toy for almost everything else. You might as well drop it into Tier 1. Cargo Saddle - Add the ability to have a storage box/resource chest added to this so that we can transport cargo around. Have it affect the weight of the hauling tame by 25% but the weight of a boat by 100%. Saddle Blueprints - Add in higher quality or at least make the common ones upgradable so that we can protect tames better. For everyone shouting "This game isn't supposed to be about tames" We have mythical creatures that can kill players in 1-2 hits at best. We have alpha creatures that can tear you to bits in again 1-2 hits. We have super low weight to be carrying around tons of materials This is an MMO survival game that includes very few of the MMO aspects and many of the Survival ones, The few MMO ones that it has seem to be mobs that are fairly high in power and we keep getting nerfed at the player level due to PVP.
  14. Bear - Nerf it's fiber gathering. Remove saddles. Reduce health. Chicken - It's fine Cow - It's fine Bull - Buff it enough to make it the "lowest tier" of thatch gatherers. Allow saddles. Crow - It's fine. Could even use an extra 'something', as currently it's just a "Put on my shoulder when crafting, ignore all other times" tame Razortooth - This should be the crem de la crem of offensive tames. Shieldhorn - Make it the "highest tier" of thatch gatherers. Elephant - Increase health, at least higher than bears. Giant Pig - Slight health increase. More players should be using these as shock troops Giraffe - Make it the "mid-tier" of thatch gatherers. Horse - Do not make this a passive tame. Speed is fine. Anyone complaining about it going too fast possibly has a terrible machine. Lower weight. Allow cargo/weight saddles. Lion - All of the offensive T3 tames need a slight buff. Do not buff them so high that you make the Razortooth a joke. Monkey - Fine. I like the idea of small secondary abilities that others have suggested. Ostrich - Fix the dismount issue. I believe it's the same speed as the horse? If so, increase health, weight and damage slightly above the horse. Do not allow saddles. Parrot - Fine. I like the idea of small secondary abilities that others have suggested. Penguin - Give a small AOE insulation buff which also affects babies/juveniles. Multiple penguins stack. Rabbit - I like the idea of small secondary abilities that others have suggested. Rhino - Slight increase to weight. Seagull - Fine. I like the idea of small secondary abilities that others have suggested. Sheep - Changing fleece from hide to a fiber would make the tame a no-brainer. No brainers are bad in games, do not do this. Drastically reduce the amount of fleece given from harvesting a dead wild tame. Tiger - All of the offensive T3 tames need a slight buff. Do not buff them so high that you make the Razortooth a joke. The Tiger and Lion need something to differentiate them more than a grab that's useless in PvP and a DOT. Vulture - These are so meh right now that almost anything would be a good idea. Wolf - All of the offensive T3 tames need a slight buff. Do not buff them so high that you make the Razortooth a joke. Allow saddles, which differentiates them from the Tiger/Lion. Reduce Health, Weight and Melee Dmg to compensate for this. Cargo saddles - Make them actual cargo saddles. Remove the ability to put guns on them. Make the saddle a container that has 20% reduced weight for all resources (resources only). Weight on the saddle is counted against the tames total weight allowance. NEW CREATION - War saddles - What the current cargo saddle is. Reduction in speed to any tame with it on.
  15. This is what I would want from these animals. Also, Reduce the size of Behemoths? Or add a medium Gate. (and while we are at it, increase the costs of gates by ALOT. It is so ugly to travel around and watch all those gates walling in people. Make them so costly that you ever only want a minimum of gates) Bear - Feels pretty good, maybe a bit strong for a Tier2 tame. Chicken - gives eggs, what more do we need? Cow - Does its job, gives us milk and prime meats. Bull - A cargo saddle to increase weight. Crow - Add a bit to vision for the person carrying it. Razortooth - Have not used this yet. Shieldhorn - Have not used this yet. Elephant - Might need a tad more stamina, and its LMB attack need a better hitbox, It rarely hit any resources every 2nd attack now, forcing to use the slower RMB even on a single tree. Giant Pig - Why is this a Giant Pig? You already removed the "Giant" from creatures! Pig - Should be able to dig the ground like a shovel (for potatoes/earthworms, or maybe truffles for cooking?!) Giraffe - Should get a buff to thatch gathering. Horse - Have not used this yet. Lion - The grab is horrible, at least increase the cooldown of it. Monkey - Have not used this yet. Ostrich - Feels good. Parrot - Feels good. Penguin - Feels good. Rabbit - Luck bonus when digging up treasures? Like increasing the maps effective value with a % according to its level. Rhino - More weight Seagull - Should be able to fish. Sheep - Female sheep should be able to be milked, like cows. Tiger - Feels good. Vulture - Needs something! Wolf - Is a bit weak, maybe add some bonus to them for being in a pack, like the Compy in ARK
  16. Purely from a PVE point of view, can only comment on things ive used, but heres my 2cents. Bear - little too good atm, a jack of all trades, and master of all. could do with a slight nerf, but its hard to see where you could nerf them. Chicken - fine spot imo, gives a steady stream of eggs. Cow - fine imo Bull - really terrible spot atm, its not even worth taming. should be made into a medium tier thatch gatherer. Crow - I think the int buff should be more on the crow than having to respect into full int to craft better items (especially since theres no respect at max level available HINT HINT) Razortooth - haven't used, and from what ive heard, wouldn't even bother trying to tame. Shieldhorn - see above Elephant - great at the wood gathering niche, could do with better stam regen Giant Pig - too easy to kill, imo. Giraffe - if im not mistaken, they were good for thatch, now im not sure what their use is. could use it as a lookout spot, similar to the parasaur in Ark, warning of predators? Horse - just nerf their run speed, but give us the ability to level it perhaps? Lion - similar to whats been said, could get a roar ability to scare off animals, also should not be able to grab people off larger tames (bears/elephants etc etc.) Monkey - fine imo. Ostrich - haven't used, imagine they should be a good scount mount on par with horses speed Parrot - haven't used. Penguin - should give aoe insulation allowing them to be used as a breeding tool. Rabbit - haven't used Rhino - increased weight/stam if there is no weight reduction in the game. Seagull - should be a map finder, imo Sheep - would consider wool as a fiber, not really a hide, could make it usable for BOTH though? Tiger - fine afaik. Vulture - haven't used/died to one yet Wolf - nerf hit them hard, not really any use for them anymore aside from the buff, could give them the howl ability like on ark to buff damage of nearby tames? (without nature's cry) Will also add, I think that breeding should be looked at, if in a small company or playing solo, you literally cannot breed currently without sacrificing a day or two being online staring at the infant.
  17. Bear -- Remove the cargo cart ability, bear is allready powerfull by itself with the cart its utterly OP. Chicken -- Fine as is Cow -- Fine as is Bull -- should have the ability to pull the cargo cart Crow -- seems fine Razortooth -- no idea from what story you got this "animal" it doesnt fit the rest of Atlas, remove completly or at least the taming. Shieldhorn -- no idea from what story you got this "animal" it doesnt fit the rest of Atlas, remove completly or at least the taming. Elephant -- Stamina regeneration is utter crap needs a buff othervise okay Giant Pig -- Fine as is Giraffe -- currently no use at all, maybe make a saddle that is climbable on the neck to use as mobile ladder Horse -- Fine as is Lion -- Grab is anoying and not working correctly with bad latency, change to small stun Monkey -- door opener like in ark unless it allready can? Ostrich -- add Terrorbird flapping Parrot -- add a small post building you can "leash" a Parrot to, to have it circle above and warn of incomming enemys similar to parasaur Penguin -- buff effect too small and range is hard to predict, add a circle while holding H maybe Rabbit -- Rhino -- add to harvest ability to gather small amounts of metal from normal rock, could use better stamina use on sprinting Seagull -- Gather fish for you and / or add view range on a ship Sheep -- fix its invisible tail, every time you get off you get stuck in nothingness behind it Tiger -- Vulture -- Wolf -- bit weak after the last change maybe get pack bonus like in ark
  18. Bear - In a good place. Great gatherer. Also tanky enough to be multipurpose. With Elephants, you can base all gathering tames on this tanky model. Chicken - In a good place. Supplies lots of eggs. Cow - It would be nice if we could milk a small amount from wild cows, otherwise cows are a prime candidate for a cargo saddle that actually works for cargo. Bull - Bulls could fill the missing niche of an accessible thatch farming tame, as well as another candidate for carrying weight with a cargo saddle that works for cargo. Crow - I like how crows work, my complaints are with int itself and how you need to dedicate a respec in order to craft. Razortooth - These should be the highest tier hostile tame for doing pve/golden age Shieldhorn - These should remain the best thatch gatherer if you introduce more viable gatherers of thatch Elephant - In a good place. Platform Saddle? Giant Pig - Needs something to do other than pooping, farming for valuables if left on wander or giving them the functionality of shovels might work. Giraffe - Potential thatch farmer. Platform Saddle? Horse - Would make it a passive tame, and make characters with Sneak ranks not spook horses. Lion - Tamed Wolves and Lions and Tigers are too weak in general, should be strong enough to survive encounters in golden age islands in a small group. Monkey - Let them steal for us like in ARK Ostrich - Give them a proper glide that costs stamina Parrot - Insulation is nice, but there should be something more on these guys. Shoulder pets don't all have to be amazing, but parrots should be in a pirate game. Penguin - In a good place. Rabbit - Like other tiny pets, rabbits need something to give them value other than their cuteness factor. Perhaps a reason to let them breed like rabbits? If you give them a unique Hide then there is a great reason to farm their pelts. Rhino - Make them hit rocks before they hit trees/anything else. Otherwise in a good place. Seagull - Fix their crazy levels, otherwise they should be good as is as the designated diving pets. Maybe add the fishing functions from Ark? Sheep - Make their scissor harvest into fiber, not hide. Tiger - Tamed Wolves and Lions and Tigers are too weak in general, should be strong enough to survive encounters in golden age islands in a small group. Vulture - Tone down the AoE hostility and give them the ability to be sent to harvest corpses and return with the meat. Maybe this (or other underwhelming shoulder pets) could warn of things like storms/weather like aberration, or nearby enemies like parasaurs in Ark. Wolf - Tamed Wolves and Lions and Tigers are too weak in general, should be strong enough to survive encounters in golden age islands in a small group. Tamed Wolves especially need buffs to keep up. Note that all of this comes from a PVE point of view with 723 hours played in Atlas and 3856 in ARK. Thanks for listening. The pve side of the game could be balanced around tames more, but golden age ruins are currently a crap shoot even with them. Nerf the islands, buff the tames. Cargo saddles are necessary to see tames reach the place they should be at. Before you nerf quality of life by making us immobile when over weight limit, make horse/cow and cargo saddle trips more efficient than dropping the entire box on the ground then slooooowly walking it back. Just... Buff the quality of life before/while nerfing it, please. English is not my best language, thank you for taking the time to do this
  19. Here are some thoughts from my personal experience on PvE official. I'll comment on the tames that I've used so far. Bear It's too good right now (please dont hate). It's a fiber, berry, sap, meat, hide, treasure, cargo multitool that you want to have at least ~10 of in your base. Improve some of these qualities on other tames that feel less useful now and make them slightly worse on the bear. Give us an incentive to tame something other than bears for different purposes. Chicken Good egg machines as they are. Cow Cows are fine as the milk machines they are. Bull Make it a a cargo tame with the cargo harness. Even better than elephants or elephants will remain as the cargo tame. Crow Int buff function is fine imo. Razortooth Shieldhorn Elephant Stamina is super annoying, so we've turned to running two elephants all the time. Jump on the other when the one you are using is out of stamina and let it rest. Repeat until both are full of wood. I don't mind this, but I feel like this is not intended. Make of this what you will. Improved stamina regen might make it too op... or would it? I'm not sure. Giant Pig Giraffe Bird's eye perspective choice? (Like if I climbed up it's neck :D) For adventuring and looking for discoveries. Allow to see discoveries while riding it? Horse Lovely travel mount, that I feel is well balanced. Do want to use cargo harness on it as well, but make bull better at this function. Horse maybe faster but able to pull less weight. Lion Secondry skill: roar to make wild animals flee for a short time. Like a defensive skill to possibly save you or other tames nearby from a sudden attack of wild predators. Monkey Ostrich Thatch machine maybe? Something needs to be a thatch machine. Parrot Penguin Rabbit Rhino Good stone machines, but stone building has it's other issues with metal and paste. Half the time rhinos are sitting in base since we are stocked up on stone very fast and end up bottle necked by metal and paste. Seagull Sheep Tiger Maybe tigers could better at keratinoid and wolves at hide? Or wise versa. Vulture Wolf I feel like nerf hit them too hard or we managed to stock up too much hide / keratinoid before nerf and we haven't had the need to use them again since. They should def be the designated hide and/or keratinoid machines.
  20. Bear - one of the better tames Chicken - Is okay Cow - fine Bull - it needs a 15% damage increase atleast. - the game needs a thatch animal and i say this one for it. Crow - Need more HP - Would like to see it have a map fetching ability Razortooth - it's fine currently shieldhorn - fine currently Elephant Giant pig - more HP really needed Giraffe - Increase its gathering rate by 10% and possible even melee itself by 5%. It's slower than hand. Horse - they are too fast Lion - Needs more HP and damage, balance around Tiger. Monkey - It's fine. Parrot - Just more interactive with emotes and voice lines would be nice and more HP like the crow it's very low. penguin - apply its bonus to babies? Rabbit - fine Rhino - Gathering needs increasing by 5% and more weight. Maybe aswell a 5% increase to base stamina, they are very low. Seagul - More like the Jerboa with weather detection sheep - its fine tiger - best place of the damage dealers vulture - fine, though Enemy detection ability? wolf - Needs a slight base HP and and damage buff by 5% and then it relies on pack mainly.
  21. Bear: have claws but can't harm/gather a tree? At least tatch, we know that bears tend to sharpen their claws with the help of trees in real life Wolf: they can't attack with their paws. Maybe add a jumping-claw movement That's the one i use daily for now. In other terms add some cloth, and heavy armours to them too? (and please fix the bear mount so it's not covered with the bear "hair")
  22. You forgot the tame that needs the MOST attention... the crewmember. If the game ISN'T supposed to just be about acquiring tames and playing Noah the Pirate, the crewmember needs the most work. Crewmember - Right now JUST serves as an AI to man your turrets, cannons, etc. Doesn't make your life easier in any other way. Add the ability to use crewmembers on land for anything, particularly in terms of resourcing. Let me build a Forrester station and the crewmember gathers wood while I'm not around. Let me build a mining station and they gather stone and metal. Basically, let me hire crew to not NEED all the other tames, if that's what I want to do. Right now, tames are SO ESSENTIAL THERE IS NO POINT PLAYING THE GAME IF YOU DON'T USE THEM Bear Don't change anything. Bears are insanely powerful and probably qualify as the best tame in the game. They are godless killing machines, super fast, carry a lot, AND they can gather over 1000 fiber in a single swipe Chicken Don't change anything. They take like 2-3 minutes to tame, provide a valuable resource used in cooking, and are low maintenance. We keep 2-3 at each of our bases Cow Don't change anything. Super valuable and easy to tame. We keep one on each ship to turn vitamin D and water into non-issues Bull Many people have suggested using the Bull as the thatch gather. That would make sense. Increase carry weight. Crow Don't change anything. Super useful. We consider ours almost essential. Razortooth Haven't tamed one, no comment Shieldhorn Haven't tamed one, no comment Elephant Don't change anything. Like Bears, absolutely essential. Probably second most important tame in the game Giant Pig Don't change anything. Super easy to tame. Makes good cannon fodder. We keep packs of them near bases as simple defenders. They're shock troopers, useful, and disposable Giraffe Haven't bothered to tame one. Doesn't seem to have much point. Could possibly fill the Thatch niche,. However, other than Thatch there isn't much point to needing more creatures Horse Haven't bothered to tame one. They are supposed to be fast... but Bears are fast AND godless killing machines AND can carry a ton. Horses could be faster than bears, but then you'd be running around so fast the game would never load things until after they've eaten you Lion Don't change anything. Lions are insanely good Monkey Increase the warning range. Also, you need to normalize the creature spawns. Right now, "eek" means "you're about to be attacked by 5 tigers, and I'm about to die". Also, we haven't found them worth keeping around, MOSTLY because shoulder tames count as crew on ships and that is cancer. Make shoulder tames not count when put on a ship and we'd use them more. Ostrich Haven't tamed one, however ostrich eggs are good eating. They should be like mega-chicken eggs that provide large amounts of food in long-lasting containers. They should make food easy Parrot We've tamed a couple, but haven't found them worth keeping around, MOSTLY because shoulder tames count as crew on ships and that is cancer. Make shoulder tames not count when put on a ship and we'd use them more. Penguin Make hypo transfer to breeding creatures, otherwise same as all shoulder tames. Not worth an entire crew slot for a small buff Rabbit See All other shoulder tames Rhino Still can't carry quite enough to be useful. Also doesn't gather metal except from pure nodes, which often means we leave them in the garage in favor of picks. We usually need enough metal that we'll gather enough stone to not bother with a Rhino Seagull See all other shoulder tames. Provides no bonus. Possibly give a bonus to map view? Sheep Amazing and essential. No need to change. Tiger Like Lions. Vulture Didn't even think to tame one. Not really sure what niche it needs to fill. Wolf See Tiger. However, right now they're not quite as good as Lions and Tigers unless you're in a cold biome.
  23. Gonna start by undoing the nerf to creatures HP & Damage by 40% that was introduced many patches ago. This DESTROYED tames. Bear -Add another speed level to its charge. Lower its stamina use when charging by 25% Chicken -Needs more HP Cow - All good Bull - Buff damage Crow - Buff HP Razortooth - Havent used extensively Shieldhorn -Havent used extensively Elephant - Increase attack radius by 10%. If its attack degree is 90, Buff it to like 110. Giant Pig -What is this? The pig? If so buff HP GREATLY please. These things die to flintlocks Giraffe - Buff damage, It was a thatch gatherer in the beginning, Now its useless. Horse - SLOW DOWN. Please, They are LIGHTNING fast, High HP, High Weight already. So overpowered. Lion - Not able to attack players on mounts. I found it kindof silly that they can attack you off your own lion or tiger. Monkey - Its good here i think. Ostrich - Longer jump range if possible. Otherwise pretty good. Parrot - Buff HP/Voice lines! Please! Make it mimic players doing emotes Penguin - Buff its bonus Rabbit - Please let these guys give a speed bonus!!!!!! Rhino - Add more weight!!! Seagull - Havent played with Sheep - Honestly no idea what to do with this, its a sheep Tiger - Strong guy, Balanced, killable but not underpowered. Base your T3's off this guy Vulture - Never used. Wolf - Weaker than a chicken.
  24. Its not that they are missing something....animals only have so many tricks. However QoL. Changes could include more hotbar skills to use while riding that would increase their need. Example would be maybe the cargo saddle thing being a weight reduction skills that last maybe 3min while you are soecifically farming. Or a sprint skill on the mounted rider thype animals. Increased/decreased aggro toggles on certain sneaky types like tiger or wolf. And far left. Go for something like using the flying creatures to give birdeye view toggle with camera distance at equal to the tallest mast on large sails.
  25. 2 Things that I can think of on the spot is a thatch animal while there are several animals that gather thatch none do it well or worth taming for. Also with all the nerfs that have come to predators mainly wolves which I understand it could be frustrating to get attacked by a pack of wolves and insta killed. Tamed wolves have become kinda useless because of how weak they are damage wise so maybe return tamed wolf values to original or just buff them in general. Also some breeding love would be great alot of us dont have time to micromanage animals for 16 hours so they dont die.
