Just when you thought it was safe on land
Jozzie McTowel replied to Seren Du's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure if it does, but do these wolves also just spawn in while u are standing on their spawnpoint? I mean too many times these have attacked me in pair whilst before i started eating or ended my harvesting there was no wolf in sight, only to come back out of my menu to already have a broken leg and see myself die cuz yea, no reaction time and nothing to do really against two wolves. -

Hello, I think that it was said multiple times already, but creatures in this game need some nerf or rework. Yesterday when we made our new base it was OK for a few hours and then creature armageddon started. It really looked like and of the days. We are on island that has really little fiber (I need nearly 2 hours for a full stack) and with creatures attacking like angry hornets we spend our fiber on defending. At first it was not that bad, few wolves (2-3 wolves) attacking our walls. I don`t even talk about how they attack through the walls and it seams that their priority target was our chests (after they destroyed them through wall we placed them in middle of house so they couldn`t reach it). But what began after that was really like scene from Lord of the rings when they were defending Balin`s Tomb. They began to multiply like crazy it really looked like they were "breading" by using mitosis. 3 wolves became 5. Then 5 became 8 then 12 at the end there was like 20 wolf head biting us through the walls. When we killed few it attracted vultures..... And then its started to look more like Hitchock "The Birds" wolves attacking our walls, vultures attacking our ceiling and bugging through ceiling into our house. And then scorpions they didn`t really came in same numbers like wolves and vultures, but they came to help them anyway. After 2 hours of defending our base we decided just to abbandon it and move as close to water as we could. With aggro radius as ludicrous at it is, combined with damage that creatures do to you, their spawning speed and combined with their need to help each other its more like playing some pirate themed Killing Floor with zombies swapped for animals. It really feels like you have "free time" between waves of enemy attacks. Also you cant really outrun almost animals. And their aggro duration is almost as annoying as their damage. One time I was running around island picking up fiber with army of snakes that were slithering behind me like moving carpet only to lose interest in me after I abandoned land and embraced water as my new home. Please do something about this.

Alpha Wolf 2-shot my lvl 54 bear through a wall T_T

I just tamed a Male and Female wolf and have them together in my animal pen. I've never played Ark but someone who has suggested that I set them both to Wander to begin the breeding process. Has anyone successfully bred in Atlas? Is this all I need to do? How long does it take? Any suggestions/feedback/help would be appreciated!
-
gotcha. thanks for telling me wolf breeding isn't in yet. There is an enable wander in the radial though
-
Wolf breeding is not ingame yet, you will see when it Shows "enable wander to ate" in tooltip

It's not unique to the desert, having traveled all the biomes I think Tundra has it worst, their wolf spawns are insane; like big groups of 7-9 wolves rushing about as a pack. Indeed, our island in H10 desert is almost paradise-like, having only vulture, crocs, snakes and insects; none of which are a significant danger on land (In water, more of a nuisance) Predatory creature spawning is just bonkers.

i tamed a wolf in the zone im trying to breed them in and they wont breed

Just when you thought it was safe on land
hands solo replied to Seren Du's topic in General Discussion
maybe twop if your very lucky. add a rattler into the fray a lvl three and lvl 16 wolf in a small space atop the mountain in bresport just to get some crystal and id like to see that. I died fast, had to go back up to get my loot which is what was worrying me more than trying to kill them, so died where it would be accessible. -
Designs Oversight Adjustments- Comprehensive List
TrevorJD replied to GunnyTheGrey's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
Hah! I wish it was like jousting. At the moment it's just me standing still and flailing wildly while the animal teleports all around me. If one of us hits the other, it's sheer dumb luck rather than "advanced tactical combat". Something funnysad is watching my wolf trying to eat a carcass. He just keeps warping towards it, only to have momentum make him overshoot then he warps back the other way. If the idiot mongrel learned to walk to his dinner, he'd go hungry less often! I like your points, Gunny. All of them. -
Here is a video of them wolf packing me: I can see there being packs of them for group encounters, but for a single schooner this was a bit much. We may have been able to escape two of them, not six.

Considering that it is not possible to outrun an alpha wolf or alpha lion and that they onehit everbody.... devs i have an idea to spoil your customers gaming experience even more ! Spawn more of these ! Today we had only 13 alpha predator spawns in 4 hours. Come on, you certainly can do better ! Give them stone eating capability, this brings fun. You could also add a chinese version of the undead sharpshooter who guard the treasures : Give them aimbot and teleport !

So has anyone actually found any real quests?
McGimp replied to boomervoncannon's topic in General Discussion
Best the game had to offer is the bottles. Which is essentially no reward for the huge time sink and risk of sailing to hunt them. Cross three zones - hope to not catch a SotD on border cross. Find the right island - Find the right spot on the island. Dig for 45 minutes - be sure to bring about 15 shovels youll likely need them. Collect a meager 100-200 gold that can be used to purchase crew members who can die with you as you sink to the bottom of the ocean or get torn to shreds by a lv154 alpha wolf/tiger/lion/croc/snake.5 -
And on this note. After I posted this discussion topic I log back in to an alpha wolf literally destroying my whole base. This happened due to me stepping outside to farm..a wild horse was being chased and they aggro on to me and good bye base. please please please fix. All my work literally gone in 2 seconds. Unplayable.

Hey all, I am having a really hard time trying to farm and get stuff done around my claim because the island I am on seems to have 20+ wolves in one area. They are right on my beach, through my forest and all through out the back end of my claim. The wild life populations are severely out of control and I am finding myself sitting out multiple day cycles and night cycles because the wolves just won't go away. I cannot fight 3 - 4 wolves at once with one being an alpha wolf lvl 214 when I am only 18..when I can hardly put down one. They hit way to hard, the dps out put is way to high, the aggro range needs to be reduced even so with the beast tame traits that give you less visibility to them. I feel like they still aggro from a mile away. I also have tried other islands and it is the same story with the gators and snakes. I understand the concept of having an elite patrol pack of something because that makes the land feel dangerous but when the lands are just flooded with these types of alphas and predators it makes it hard to do anything at lower levels. Now with all this being said here is what I would look at to change from my opinion. 1. Reduce population greatly 2. Look at how and where they are spawning.( I have literally had wolves attack me and spawn in water) 3. 1 alpha shows in area between the stages of 2-3 day cycles 1- 2 night cycles. ( not predictable though) 4. Reduce Damage output and DPS output. This is way to high because I have tested specing into health and I still get put down faster then I can draw a weapon. 5. How they patrol around the land. I understand of having a pack of a dangerous something roaming around to make the land feel more dangerous but they seem to only patrol and flood beaches. Then the interactions with other animals cause them to run inland and flood inland. There may be bottle necks that need to be looked at I honestly don't know. 6. Reduced Aggro range. I think this would benefit players not specing into Beast Mastery and the players that are spec'd into it would benefit more with the reduced visibility. Right now both feel broken. 7. General Wild Life can sometimes halfway walk through and poke there heads through base walls. I have aggro'd wolves while being inside my base from this. Obviously they aren't supposed to do that and being inside is supposed to feel safe and it doesn't at some times. I have almost 100 hours played and I am really loving this game and the quick fixes that you guys are putting out. I am sure there have been many posts about this already. I am not a game designer or creator at any level and this is just my opinion. Keep it up dev team you guys are doing an awesome job and I am greatly appreciated to be a part of an amazing game that is still yet to be developed. I am sure that you guys are very much aware of this and it will be worked on at some point. Thank you!

Lol. well i just hope the dev's start focusing their attention to the game mechanics that are causing their player base to dwindle... the ship decay and skill tree's as well as land claiming are the 3 biggest issues. But yet they haven't seem to do anything regarding it other than make the skill tree even more fucked. It's cool. I started out playing a lot, now i play less and less every day. Head of my company... great group of people. Game's pretty broken still and very frustrating. We've claimed land, built our harbor up, built our base up, gated it off and we still have predators spawning inside of our base area, which mind you is fairly big, but we have a decent sized building and other stuff going on. The "awesome" predator spawns keeps killing our wolf tames and we keep going back to square 1 with that. Then doing much outside of the island has been non existent with the whole SotD issue.

Greatest fun for the devs was always single players/small groups to be steamrolled/LOLstomped by big tribes. This concept did not change, they like magic armor dragon riders sniping naked spearmen while mounted on dragons. When this stopped on ARK primitive servers they brought the unstoppable stone eating Giganotosaurus. When the chinese megatribes complained, that it takes to long bombing new players stone bases they trippled the grenade damage. When they noticed that players survived after learning they doubled the mobs damage and trippled the level 250 alpha wolf spawns. This game is toxic, too toxic.

Tamed Animal Stuck on low level wont level up

Exact same problem.. my wolf is stuck with max xp on lvl 4.... ive done everything to make it lvl-. -
Okay. First of i really do enjoy this game. It's amazing... BUT... We taimed 4 Elephants. 3 of them died to server crashes and rollbacks. Why? Because lvl 4 Wolfes can kill a 500+ HP Elephant in 20 seconds. WHY? Just why? How is this even possible? The Elephants were lvl 35 + and this is just a fucking wolf... fun part is, before the server crashed, no wolfes were there. Not even in the near. Server crashes => rollback => Elephants dead. It's not just like that u find wheat on every island. No we had to travel from C5 to K5 to get them. It took us about 10 hours only for that. We got the wheat. Went to taime 2 Elephants. Thats another ~ 6 hours. Went back to base. Used the Elephants for 20 Minutes => Server crashes => rollback => both of them are death. Great.. so we just went to get 2 new Elephants. Came back a few moments ago. 1 Elephant was safe. The other one was on his way to safety... guess what happened? Server crashes => rollback and 2 lvl 4 and lvl 6 wolfes just killed the other lvl 27 (wildlevel) Elephant. Im just so annoyed. How is this even possible? And the worst part of all that? The devs won't even care. Cause they did not lost 20+ hours of traveling and farming. And we probably cant even use the remaining Elephant till wolfes and other carnivores are fixed. And i really dont want to travel another 10 hours for nothing. Sorry, I just had to write this down. This is just garbage and im pissed af.

Today i was killed several times by a lvl5 wolf although my lvl25 character was wearing leather armor and an iron pike. This is just ridiculous. Not to mention the alpha creatures... why do lvl200+ alphas spawn all the time? There´s nothing you can do about them, just kite them over an over again to another part of the island and dying a lot in the progress, hoping that no other players take your stuff from your body in the meantime.

Crocodiles are gamebreaking, they are faster than a ship in water amd they keep attacking it no matter what..wolves and lions are also a pain, they just jump to the ocean trying to sink your ship, total nonsense, they can hit you from under your ship and make you fall to the water...not to mention that a single wolf is more dangerous than a party of damned soldiers, ridiculous. To allow an enjoyable experience i think spawns, aggro and damage should be lowered, with that amount of killing machines player interaction won't happen often, you would be more concerned aboug not being killed by a wild animal than by an hostile player in PVP, also in PVE people can use them to destroy your base or ship aggroing them and making them to get stuck in your things. I understand this is also a survival game but if the intention is to make also an MMO having tons of ai harassing you is not good to make people more prone to play the game as it was advertised.

I'm level 40, as are my shipmates - we're lucky to kill a wolf while carrying pistols. They are insane.

Hi guys, French Streamer here, thinking of stopping the game completely this is why : Ghost ships... we farmed on a Lawless island UE PVE server ( so a newbie spawn ) and we got our fist sloop, we stocked our ressources and went to see to explroe the oceans, then at i'd say 2/3km ... we saw 2 ghost ships, we managed to evade, then even not 500m after, 4 ghost ships in any directions... not choice but to go back to the island and ... wait ? This is the point, it's a pirate mmo, pirate should be able to explore the seas, not being stuck on a island coz of the ghost ships spam. IMO : in pve atleast, the ghost ships should be rare and an awesome boss fight, not a spam like some wolf or tiger... at the moment the ghost ships spam is killing your game, i humbly warn you, even the newbie areas are spammed with them, you must , if you want your game to survive to do something about them, at the moment its unplayable. this is my 2 cents, this game could be awesome but for now its just an island survivor game.

I'm one of the player who bring the wolf next to his house, not to destroy this house just him. He bring 3 wolfs when we farm to kill us and steal our stuf, it's just in return of is behavior. And we did'nt hack just use glider to be safe on his roof. Don't presume if you don't know.
