  1. I could not see the "feed" option when the wolf got bola. I hit him to make low HP , and then bola , its oke then he could not move. But i did not see any feed option eventhough i close to his head and all over the body i tried. I used bones its correct feed item. Just i wonder its about lawless area ? Because u can not even tame chicken in freeport. May be higher tiers not allowed in lawless ? And wolf is tier 2 animal or tier 3 animal ? i did not see any info about it.Its allow me to use bola. Is there any other skill to feed it ?
  2. Wolf wilt die as fast as seconds, sorry to break it but there's multiple predators spawning every 5 minutes, that wolf would not even regenerate health before more enemies would come.
  3. I have this same exact problem with a 30 wolf I tamed. Not gaining any experience. It would seem that it being level 30 "max level" they turned exp off. Fortunately, this is a breeding wolf for us. So the base stats is all that matters... but still a little frustrating.
  4. Then: 1. Suspecting wrong, those areas are next to freeports. 2. With flintlocks those things are somewhat managable but being ambushed is just lossing half to full health even from one wolf bcs their attack sspeed combined with damage and knockback wilt throw thou and the aim like a beachball, just f... their attack speed, srsly. 3. Not all predators are equal, wolves and lions are faster than player while other predators are not, they are also stronger and attack faster and have some special abilities (wolves have knockbak, lions have super jump making aiming for the head radiculous and also grab players which means constant damage without a way of dodging, but atleast easy headshot), giant snakes are a joke predator, they are slower, the poison does nothing with high fortitude and their attack speed is not of a machine gun. Crocs are slow on land but are huge, tanky and aparently can hit across a mile. 4. Their spawninig speed, thou canst murder 5 of them, be almost out of health and 5 minutes later they are back. 5. There's nothing to save thou if there is an alpha wolf or lion charging in and there is no water atleast few steps from that point, alpha predators one-shot meaning exploring deeper from the shore is asking to die. The other animals alphas also have problems even if they can't catch up to the player, they are still super tanky, they still heal up if they change target and eat something, they deal abnormal damage to structures that is not stone and there is nothing a player can do to stop an alpha from destroying their home if the building is not yet made of stone other than suiciding outside and hoping the alpha will stop attacking the building.
  5. Just think once you hit a hundred you'll be able to say to new players. Why when i was you age we had to deal with things like cros the size of elephants that could eat you right off the middle of your boat below deck without even putting a hole in the ship, and you rember that tale of the boy that cried wolf, well anyone that didn't cry wolf at the time was dead from em...boy those were the days, not this land lubbering safty you all have today. ect
  6. this would be nice for aesthetic as well. more crows near your home. But I'm kinda neh over the idea of my well-defended neighbor running me out of my land with a wolf spawner on the end of the property. or spawning more crows so if I hit one, I get swarmed. but even with a low spawn rate, an extra wolf/day still sounds terrible. but if they're taming wolves. they might love it. neh.

I wanted to collect all of the changes that have been made, in less than two weeks, that make the game easier or more instantly gratifying to point out how one change here or one change there may seem ok, but you add them all up and suddenly you have a game with no sense or risk vs reward or achievement. The problem is that every MMO that has come along that makes it easy to play and doesnt penalize death loses the majority of their players as soon as the next new and shiney MMO surfaces. Players dont realize they are looking for a sense of achievement, of accomplishing something that builds memories. Yes the PvP is exciting, but this is a MMO, not Sea of Thieves pew pew pew or world of warships, both of which have their place, but Atlas should mean something more. There is still no death penalty. Dying is still a mechanic that only rewards you (by resetting thirst, food, vitamins, health, injuries). The only time its a penalty is if you have no bed nearby. So here is a consolidated list, so far, of all changes that have made the game easier and feeding the "give it to me now" mentality. (I know some people like this) (The ones marked with *'s are coming Monday) "Lets make ships easier and more instantly gratifying" Increased the base carry Weight of all ships by +40% Sailing against the wind now provides 30% of with-the-wind sailforce, as opposed to 0%. Also increased the amount of sailforce provided by minimum windspeed conditions by 30%, and the sailforce provided by maximum windspeed conditions by 15%. *Some ship costs have been adjusted, and in some cases reduced by approximately about 50% *Sea Monsters' damage has been reduced by 66% "Vitamins might as well be removed, the below changes are just trying to justify the system and make it easy" Equilibrium Buff now gives +20% XP, -20% reduced incoming damage, +30 temperature fortitude, +10% movement speed, +20% melee damage, and takes 30 minutes to achieve rather than an hour. Increased vitamin equilibrium range to +/- 20% rather than 10% (making it easier to achieve and stay in equilibrium) Decreased vitamin deficiency debuff threshold to 10% rather than 20% Reduced base rate of vitamin consumption by 2% Eliminated at-sea increased rate of vitamin/vitals consumption. Now it just causes food to spoil faster, and temperatures to drop. "Lets make it easy to steal things from others, why have to wait or bring proper artillery?" Changed declaim period (stealing enemy territory) to 30 minutes from 1.5 hours (requires they have no alive crew or players in the vicinity) Removed requirement to be on a boat to steal someone's boat after placing the claim flag. Adjusted base value times to claim the boats to be 1 one minute to steal a dinghy, 2hrs~ to steal a raft, a couple hours to steal sloop, and so forth (levelling a ship increases the time it takes to steal that ship). Grenades damaged to stone multiplied by 3x "Lets make Army of the Damned ships not so scary. The only problem with AotD ships were there were too many of them. It was never an issue about agro or shooting on shore or anything else, just the number of them. If you didnt want them to shoot you on shore you should build defenses that are manned prior to building ships in areas where they spawn" Army of the Damned Ships will no longer initially aggro to drydocked or anchored ships, unless fired upon by them or already targeting them. Ensured army of the damned ships spawn farther away from shore, and don't spawn too near player shipSea Monsters' damage has been reduced by 66% - Heaven forbid they be dangerous. Reduced Army of the Damned ships spawn rate by 60% Reduced Army of the Damned ship HP per level scaling by 20% Reduced Army of the Damned ship Aggro range by 10% Boosted Army of the Damned ship loot quality by 10% Further tweaks made to Ship of the Damned should no longer wander close to shore, however they may chase you. Reduced Ship of the Damned targeting range by 50%. We're going to look into scaling that based on the type of ship. Ship of the Damned targeting ranges now are reduced by the type of ship (down to 30% for rafts (which means they will now attack rafts - but you have to get pretty darn close to them!) and 0% for dinghies) Further reduced Ship of the Damned spawns by 20% Ship of the Damned now are allowed to "Wander" away from shore if they find themselves close to shore "More Instant gratification and easy mode changes" Added one more Skill Point earned by all level-ups above 10 Tripled gathering weighting of metal in all the generic rocks for both pick and hatchet damage types Alpha creature spawns are now disabled on Freeport and Lawless Servers. (I agree with Freeport) Reduced deepwater aggressive creature frequency and targetting range Default resource and taming speeds have been increased to 2x as the baseline Every Tame can now get a minimum of 30 tame level-ups put into it, plus however many base levels it had when wild. So for example, a level 5 wild wolf would get 35 tame level-ups to apply, whereas a level 40 wild wolf would get 70 tame level-ups to us *Loot stat scaling has been boosted (retroactively) by 60% *Farming rebalances to be easier; water can now pipe uphill, region requirements for growing crops are more forgiving, and crop growth & yield is much faster and highe *Armour effectiveness will be adjusted so that firearms are more useful in PVP *You can now buy a "Ramshackle Sloop" from the NPC Shipyardsman at Freeports
  8. Okay, me and my whole Company was killed by a wolf lvl 4. Devs please fix them. Fix all animals they are broken as hell. I told you a little story about our base building. 1st our first start …. (lawless region) we startet building, till we was killed by crocodiles. 2nd our first start in freeport. We build our raft, sail to a lawless region build a sloop, we saw its a little tiny for 5 guys (info in blueprint about stats of a ship) recycelt them and build a schooner. When we reach the moment and i want tu put on the last 3 planks we only saw that your shipyard was destroyed without any sens by a guy who used only his pickax to destroy it. (shipyard …. big stone …. stone pickaxe? no warning?). But we said okay, this is pvp build our 2nd schooner oh yes, we build it up and than we sail away …. yep 2 regions and 1 runaway fight against 3 damned ships …. then we drive in an server that was offline …. since then our schooner can be target to respawn, but if you try you come back to the map and can choose another. 3rd try Start in freeport sailing to lawless build a small base, and a shipyard and build up a sloop to search for land to claim …. sailing 5 region wide and than we had to go offline. Next day we was sunk by a company that owns the islands in this region. (make anything that you can protect yourself and your boat against offline raiders) 4th try Start at freeport sailing to lawless and try to build a base. We build up a little 3x3 house but cant build more, we was rushed by giant snakes and crocodiles (lvl 1 - 33). After hours of fighting we leave the island in panic and sail away to other island …. we dont reach, a damned ship sink us first. 2 guys make it to the next island (lawless) and try to build a bed to spawn but nope. You cant spawn at a bed in lawless regions. 5th try Start at freeport sailing to a streamer company and want to ally up, but when we reached the server we cant move and the server went offline 5 times because the amount of players. Okay, than we sail further and look for an other island. Reached a sector where land can be claimed, want to wait for the other guys. Killed by lvl 48. (Very much kills without any sens are not pvp. its more like trolling.) 6th try Make it up from freeport to lawless island. Build base, recruit new members, and fight for the land against animals. Every 5 minuets we are chased by 1-3 wolfs + 1-2 lions + 1-2 giant snakes + few scorpions. But we fight them and build . Then we had to go offline because it was 2 am, the most have to work in 4-6 hours. Today i come online … all dead …. killed by wolf lvl 4 inside our base 5x3 (all sleep in the middle) okay, think about how. Go to our walls 2-3 walls high, and was grab down by a lion. Okay, make it back to our base, and want to go offline, go to the large storage boxes and want to sleep on them for safety ….. same again. He grabs me out of the base …. Okay, what i will tell with this story. Please Grapeshot fix first animals, claiming system, give pvp a little more consequence, so you have to think about killing someone without any sens. I dont know how long me and my Company will try it because we lost so much time. We cant connect for over 48 hours because of server issues. Animals can jump high as hell and they spawn so much that you sometimes cant play because you are instant dead. Animals can kill you through walls and are fast like a rocket. there is no claimable land around, no company wants to let you settle. So you kill small companies because the land greed is like a gold rush. At last sorry for my bad English, but i hope you understand.
  9. what about wolfs ? im build in pistols and 2 pistols shots doesnt kill a wolf. Im level 45 and am getting roasted by lvl 4 wolf to lvl 15 wolfs. They aggro u from miles and jump on u, its just plain stupid. and crocs that eat ur boat..... just fix that asap, its plain stupid

Depends, fire arrows gonna be nerfed but never used them so not sure, they didn't say they changed the way they deal damage so still should be rather good against alpha animals which have tons of hp, however the stone arrows and durability loss on bows..., from what understand, stone arrows will do max 50 dmg, even on headshot which means it will take 7-8 shots to kill a wolf while always headshoting insteed of 3-4 which is already alot considering a wolf can shred anyone in like 4 hits without very high fortitude and equlibrium buff.... So from self, if the change will be realy max 50 dmg per arrow, go straight for pistols or go back to javelins (unless javelins also will be changed to deal max 50 dmg per throw then they are even more useless than they are now). Also hf dying untill will get the flintlock as untill then, thou wilt have nothing to defend self from predators, especialy the faster than player ones as they didn't nerf animals at all.
  11. Lvl 1-10 wolf/cow did not get headshot bonus for hitting their heads, then killed next wolf with a headshot, just seems their hitboxes suck.
  12. What will this do to a infinite hp wolf i did 600 damage to this wolf and shot it with a pistol and it still just regained all that hp back.
  13. @Captain Jack Shadow use dual pistols instead of blunder with the spread blunder has ive done either 34 damage or 300 damage when shooting a wolf in the face point plank. Pistols are better you get the guaranteed hit when shooting a wolf in the face instead of random spread.
  14. @Heraseaif it even worked like " i was here 1st now gtfo" , ive had 2 shipyards and a base stolen from me im a solo player so only took 2 small land claims. Refreshed them yesterday , got on 10 hr later my shipyard claimed and his claiming my building as well. Looked around he already took over my neighbours building even when he was sleeping in it. Oh and i did find a wolf in my base have a airlock system all around me cause animals can attack through 1 stone wall. He was stuck between it , only thing i can think about that is the guy claiming our land managed to gwt the wolf inside thw house and to kill us. Anyways warned him to removed that flag or i will go sink his schooner didnt listen and i dont have the time to just sit in my base so 1 guy could take it over so demolished my base and sunk the schooner. If they want to mess with people im not against playing dirty either. The amount of players atm that just try to take over others buildings in pve is crazy... Oh and the protection system on claim flags bugged as all hell ive seen people take over claims while the defender was standing in it . Some flags have a negative timer that you cant take over at all . They really need to add some upkeep cost for flags if it goes past 2 or something. And if you think 2 is small place them in the sea and there you already own 1/4th of the medium sized island.
  15. 100% not true. We use plate, and if we are not using pistols, the wolves and lions are a major pain. There also seems to be little difference in power of a level 2 vs a level 56. They kill with about the same amount of bites. Anyway, while the tip was true...yes the water is good for killing wolves and lions, the issue is that you can't hide by the shore all the time. Other than stone, there usually isn't anything there. Most of the resources you need, on our island, are inland, in valleys that funnel these predators to you. You can stand on a large rock, look around with the spyglass, see no lions or wolves, or see them in the distance, then get down, mine the rock, and just as you finish, you turn to see the face of a lion or wolf. If you are lucky, you can get your boy and arrow, or other weapons up to shoot. I have learned that when they are charging, there is a point where you think you have time to shoot, but you don't. The wolf/lion hits you are the same time as you are shooting, and it makes you shot miss. Now you are screwed. You have to take the next hit, often, so that you can line up on the bounce back because if you rush the shot, you miss again as their hit makes you turn slightly just as you are shooting, so you miss again. So what makes this whole thing so frustrating is that they heal every time they hit you. That's absurd and needs to be removed. This whole aspect of the game is draining the fun. I have talked to many people about this, in and out of the game, and they agree that the predators, and the sheer amount of Alphas ruins the game for them. As one of my friends stated...if he wanted to do this, he would just stick with ARK, because at least those creatures are more diverse and interesting. In short, he didn't come to this game to have his focus be on wolves, lions, tigers, crocodiles, etc...
  16. Probably been said, but i'll say it again, in rant mode. Please change up the spawn rate of predators. I travelled to an island to tame a bear and get some resources, but i spent the last 20 mins killing lions/giant snakes as they seem to respawn as soon as I kill them. I'm fine with the spawn rate of animals, but the predators are a bit overboard. There needs to be some counter to it. i would suggest making predators fight, so instead of me having to kill everything over and over again, a lion would kill of a snake or a wolf or vice versa. I won't have to kill the 2 lions, 1 wolf and 3 snakes who seemed to have teamed up. It just makes game-play un-fun if i have spend most of my time doing something unwanted, not saying i don't want to have a challenge, but if i'm wasting 20 min and haven't completed anything i set out to do, it just gets bor and want to log out.
  17. On the PVE server this is wrong. But on PVP server this is fine. You can damage things on the PVP server with weapons, animals, and artillery. On the PVP server if you built a thatch hut with thatched walls, you can beat though them in a few minutes with axes. If you have several people you can do it in less time. If an aggressive animal comes by like an Alpha Lion, Alpha Giant Snake, or Alpha Wolf they will aggro on your sleeping body, and will attempt to get to you damaging anything in the way. So you have to plan for that too. An Alpha Wolf will do 20-30pts of damage per attack, or about 15-25DPS until they get drawn off by something else or get to you.
  18. The damage can stay, after all they are as big as us. But armor have to actualy start reducing their damage, right now does nothing (literaly survivng as much naked as in hide armor so armor is just insulation, nothing else). They should not eat animals, no, not even a slightest heal, that's annoying and waste of tons of ammo for them to run away with less than half health to kill a chicken and come back full, especialy that hiting them not in the head is pointless, it already takes 3-4 arrows to the head to kill one. Their knockback have to just be straight removed, why does it even exist?, literaly can use that knockback to fly as fast as a jumping horse when timing the jump right with incoming bite, that's radiculous to go flying for like 50+ meters. The damage thro blocks have every animal, they have to patch it for everything alive. The worst however are the agro range (had 1 wolf that died to 1/3 or 1/4 island away run after us when respawned at home and ran the oposite way to explore), their speed (there are not many predators that can catch up to us, but when they do, either say bye to life and welcome respawn button or if managed to kill them, enjoy being bellow 25% health and grunting with broken bone for next few minutes) and the worst is their attack speed, it has to be reduced by atleast 2-3x, otherwise without abusing that knockback to propel self away from them, it takes 1-2 seconds for 1 wolf to kill someone.

  20. I do not understand the system that calculates the damage of firearms on animals. I shoot a sheep or a bear, a take 126 damage. I shoot on wolf 300 damage. If we remove the the wolf, firearms make less damage than the bow (126 in 13 sec < 210 (8 arrow) in 13 sec). It does not make guns interesting. A player told me that the cannon was also doing 126 damage on the bears, Why ? I do not need it to be much. But at least 1.5 more damage than the bow seems to me well in view of ressrouces I may be something wrong ? So my question is : Body = Headshot ? Damage modifier ? If yes, which animals? Pistol or Shutgun same damage ? If you could explain to me how the damage of firearms on animals. I thank you in advance :D
  21. So I finally managed to tame my first level 9 bear earlier, put him in a closed off pen with a lvl 1 tame bear later and set them to wander to see if they would breed. Logged back in and in the company log it says he (but not she, she's still alive in the pen) has been killed by a wolf. The same thing happened yesterday when I had two chickens on the upper level of a house, also set to wander to breed and logged back in and they were both dead. One was killed by a wolf and one by a rattlesnake. If they're set to wander are they just bugging out of my house/pen and getting killed or what is going on? Me and my crewmate are asleep in the house as well and have not been killed. I also have 2 cows and a third chicken not set to wander and they've all managed to stay alive. The bear was also sticking his head out of the wall so he could have been killed that way, although it does not explain the chickens dying or why the other bear is still alive when she was on aggressive and only level 1. I've seen the cows bug out of their pen when I accidentally whistled a "follow" command to apparently all the animals and got to see two cows flying over my house out of their pen which was quite ridiculous The chicken stayed stuck inside. I've turned all of the wandering off in case this is the problem but would like to know if it is that or if I need to build more walls around the house or something to stop it. [EU PvE]
  22. Fun fact.. you can carry several pistols at once... And honestly it is rare a wolf kills me and I am only level 30. I can easily deal with one sometimes two with just my bow and arrows and a sword. It is WAY easier if I use a flintlock with the above combination. Running around with a spear or your fists, yeah you are going to get wreckt by a wolf.
  23. Have u even read this entire post? I guess u didnt or u wouldn't have made that comment. Even indoors these pesky wolves aggro you and if u don't have a stone wall they will slowly munch their way through it. And if it's more than 1 wolf and u are not well equipped you are a dead guy, leaving u to the point where u have to lure away the wolf from your body time over time to get to your inventory or try to find others to help kill off the pack.
  24. Hostile animal respawn timers are indeed WAY off, as is their insane aggro and damage settings. Not only has the game become utterly unplayable, more so than is was before as the dear Devs seems to refuse to acknowledge they fudged up on several issues that needs dealing with ASAP. Sure, i can understand the importance of enabling people to play in the first place, fixing the server and connection issues, but then, it's on to gameplay bugs and balancing of the stuff the game allready has, BEFOR adding more content that just adds to the bugs list. Things with animals i would really like to see happen within a very short timespan: - Less hostile animal spawns in a given area. (4-wolf packs + 2 crocs + rattlesnakes + Alphas within 50 meters is NOT playable) - Deny animals from spotting / attacking through walls and hulls !!!!! (Getting bitten to death by crocks, sailing away from an island, is NOT logical...) - Set biome spawn rules for animals!! ( wth is a wolf doing in the dessert in the first place ?) - Reduce the animal count per 50 meters. (5-6 elefants, 4-5 pigs + hostile animals in a tiny area ?!) - Reduce animal armor penetration abilities by ATLEAST half, so our armor actually counts for something!!! That's just a fraction of my thoughts about animals...
  25. I agree. Maybe work on how you word it, but you're right. And I understand the rage, been there. Believe the word "retarded" has been used more times than I'm proud of. I have 5,100+ hours in Ark, so I'm used to fighting tough creatures. But the inability to level movement speed makes a wolf fight a straight up facetanking. Sure, you can kill a few. But they respawn entirely too fast, entirely too often. And a pack will always mean certain death if you don't grapple to a ledge or otherwise have a very immediate solution to escape instant death. Scouting new islands for resources, it's mandatory to bring multiple sets of gear. The "Sneak" skill is mostly ineffective at deterring wolf spam. And outrunning them is limited to being close to water and jumping so that their attacks knock you a bit more out of range to buy you a second. In reality, just making it so that after you've finally killed the 47 wolves around you, they don't respawn 30 seconds later, and the fight doens't become an eternal struggle between player and fuzzy gods, would solve the problem while still making wolves the alpha predator they were meant to be.
