  1. Being new to this game — unlike many other players who have been here for several seasons — I would like to share my impressions of the neophyte, so to speak. Many years of experience in another MMO — eve-online — constantly encourages comparisons of these two games, especially since they have a lot in common: separate systems in eve-online — sectors in Atlas, stations and messengers with timers — islands with timers, naval battles on ships — space battles on ships. But the obvious advantage of Atlas is that, firstly, it is much more attractive in the graphical part - that is, the player is constantly surrounded by a picturesque environment, unlike eve—online, where for hours you see only a black screen with a dot in the middle and a set of tables around it, and secondly, the variety of gaming experience — if in eve all your interaction with the game world takes place through a ship that you also practically do not see, then Atlas provides much more opportunities: you can act on your own, you can ride an animal and move/fight on it, and finally you travel and fight on a ship. In addition, you move on land, on water, underwater, in the air, on rocks. And your ship is not just a hull that you contemplate only from the outside — it is a collection of structures, modules, guns, sailors that you yourself assembled and placed, and each of which has a real function, not a decorative element. These are absolutely excellent experiences. Now about what I would like "like in eve". According to my impressions, about 90% of beginners quit the game before even reaching the stage of "built a ship and shot Ships of Damned", not to mention a full-fledged naval battle. A person starts the game, builds a base on the island closest to freeport, collects resources for a couple of days, builds a ship. Then he enters the game — the base is destroyed, there are no resources, the ship is destroyed. Does it all over again, mb in a different place. Everything repeats itself. After a couple of such attempts, people no longer enter the game, and the islands are filled with buildings with a timer on which there are some days left before removal. Atlas is a pirate game, yes, and it's tough. But how many players could have stayed in it and made the sector locale a little more lively if they had had more opportunities to develop somehow and feel more interested in the game at the first steps. Another comparison is how much time a new player needs, who is in the game for the first time, to participate in a naval battle with other players, and not as a helpless victim, but as a full—fledged participant. In eve, we can talk about a week, sometimes even a few days are enough to take part in a full-fledged battle on the simplest ship, and dozens of people can participate. In Atlas, according to my impressions, in order to get to what can be called a full-fledged battle, it takes months. On the one hand, this is the result of the fact that the game cannot boast of a large online. And most of those who are online are experienced players who have been playing it for several seasons, they go to sea on RG of mythical quality. What awaits the player who has assembled the first schooner when meeting with such an opponent? The answer is obvious. At the same time, the advantage of a player who has spent months on his high-class ship is so great that novice players on ships of ordinary quality will not be able to defeat him in two or three or even four. And it seems to me that this is another disadvantage of the game: that is, at first the player is encouraged to quit the game by regular raids when they destroy everything that he has collected and built while he sleeps / at work. Then, if he somehow managed to create a base and started trying to reach the battles, he understands that these battles can take place only after months of searching for high—level BP and resources for them. And it will not work to resist even one player with a high—quality ship, even if you gather several friends in the company — although in eve this is one of the strongest sides of pvp: you can bring the most expensive ship with the most expensive modules into battle - and lose it against newcomers if they are 2-3 and they will do everything right and you're going to make a mistake about something. A high-level ship in Atlas, which has many times more damage than the usual one and is many times less damaged than the usual one, which guarantees victory. That is, the only way to defeat the old pirate is to assemble a ship like his. That is, there is no such important moment "now I will gather friends and let us have ordinary and cheap ships, but because we are more we will destroy your dear ship" — which also does not contribute to the arrival of new players, as it seems to me. Perhaps if the bonuses of modules and high—level ships did not surpass ordinary ships so dramatically, this would lead to greater popularity and frequency of naval battles when novice players would assemble small fleets to resist those who can now sink any of their ships with impunity. In addition, greater involvement of novice players in the game would provoke more of their collisions with each other on ships of equal, entry-level, which would greatly diversify the gaming experience. Another point that surprises me is the complete impunity of those who use cheats, duplicate ships. My familiar players lost an island that was attacked by 12 galleons of mythical quality with torpedoes, and when the ship ran out of ammunition during the attack, the attackers simply destroyed it and transferred to a new one with full ammunition. Of course, such brazen and obvious cheating that does not meet any opposition from the developers is very disappointing — because there is no way to resist such attacks. Despite this, I think Atlas is a great game and I'm looking forward to release! Btw -- im looking for ppl to play together
  2. Good evening, small problem with my games. When i walk i have constant mini rollbacks. I have no problem with my pc config, i constantly have over 130 FPS / IPS and a constant ping at 70... I can't find the problem
  3. The grid in which I built my base runs at 10 fps. Task manager is saying CPU 20% GPU under 15% in that grid. But notably disk usage is a constant 10%. The graphics settings make almost no difference, High, Medium, Low all 10fps. Initially it must have been running fast and I assume I built something that's slowed down the whole grid. The base has one 7x7 two story building. Two docks, 4-5 ships, Two swarm houses filled with bees and one with a mix of snake, ants and bats. A tame house with a few tames in it. I have a number of small crop plots fed by a water system. My PC is a i7-4770 with 16GB ram, an AMD Raedon VII graphics card and two hard disks (not SSD) The instant I sail out of the grid the fps shoots up to normal. Ditto fast traveling out. Logging onto an official multiplayer PVE server grid which looked packed still gives very high fps. Before I delete everything bit by bit is there any known thing that triggers this?
  4. What makes you think they've removed claimable lawless? The post says all claim types. They SHOULD have removed claimable lawless several seasons ago. A tower can flip an armored dock while you're offline. Only noobs would waste time with that mechanic. It's good for troll / funzies, but not serious play, and ultimately results in wasted land space. If they wanted to solve the problem of small company viability, they should have adopted Eve Online's wormhole system. They SHOULD have never put barrel bombs back in cannons. They SHOULD have never charged gold for ships. They SHOULD have never killed parking ships on freeports (the game felt so alive when you'd pull in and find hundreds of boats). They SHOULD have never killed the incentive to trade, travel, and fight for regional resources for blueprints. They SHOULD have never released / replaced the ship building system, but instead provided new base constructs to work on. They SHOULD have taken player reports seriously when exploiters started breaking the game in season 9 ish. They SHOULD have left the world map as a large traversal system instead of weird regional play. The list goes on and on.
  5. I will remember the modifications that are the key to the success of the s13 -lower mortar damage -limit of structures per island (avoid spawn to put lag) -balance even more the pvp ships -lower number of points per company claim island (so that large companies cannot claim all the islands) -Implement bonuses or mechanics to favor small companies
  6. some of their design decision lack any sort of logic, but im not surprised by that, they want to drive pve players either to pvp servers or off of official all together. one of the latest is the vitamin system not replenishing on death, even though they give you full hydration, full hunger, and full healht, they pretty much guarantee a time clock on your characters life for a starting character, its 20 or 30 levels minimum before youre in a position to cook whats needed to keep food balanced. and youve gone and shrunk the map? so now if you arent there in the first 2 hours you dont get to settle someplace??? took me 3 real days of sailing to finally find an island with a small spot for me. thanks for that. garbage decision after garbage decision has had me change my positive review to a negative one, as are all my team.

    Patch 558.0

Ahoy Pathfinders! We have a small patch to fix an exploit as well as a couple bug fixes for singleplayer/non-dedicated sessions. Official servers will be going offline to deploy the update on Wednesday, April 5th at 12:00 PM PDT and are expected to be up shortly after. Released Patch Notes v558.0 Bug Fixes Fixed an exploit. Fixed an issue with clients at max torpor when in a non-dedicated session. Fixed a crash in singleplayer when exporting pathfinder then choosing the delete option. Final Note Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted. Features and changes that ultimately make it to the next patch, as well as timing, may be different from what was previously discussed. 9. Since the latest patch that rolled out 2/1, the SINGLE PvE server yall have running is completely unplayable. Buildings and ships dont load in, movement is sketchy, if you get in at all. This was NOT an issue prior to the Small Company and Xbox PvP servers being launched. Decay timers are running down... I already see buildings at the "Destructable" stage and many more buildings will be there soon. Tame claim time is also continuing to accumulate while this issue is going on. If you arent gonna roll things back to 1/30, you may as well wipe the Whales Solitude server, as whenever you do fix it.. the first people in will claim any buildings/resources and tames that others have accumulated... not to mention the ones that will just die in tame racks. How can you screw up the ONE server you left for PvE when the patch was supposed to consolidate PvP servers??? I have tried for the last year an a half to be an ambassador for this game on You Tube and Discord. If yall dont want PvE as part of the game.. well.. bravo ... cuz youre about to lose a lot of players AGAIN.
  10. Yes! Im getting the xbox crew together. 15x15 would be fun - xbox only i would love a map section that had ladders to the top of cliffs. Then can hang glide from island to island in a small area. never got to dive the oceans deep. i would love to board the ghost ships bounty system would be nice, for pirate capture. If my pirate level is low maybe boat deeds, can be stripped and sold. Find the boat name in the sand of its last location Royal navy patrols
  11. I hate to break it to you but devs don’t come to this forum so you’re really just preaching to a small handful of other players. The devs are more likely to see comments via their discord channel but if you post something like this you’ll get suspended. I agree, the potential has been squandered by piss-poor management - the worst game development I’ve ever seen.
  12. Ahoy Pathfinders! As we continue to develop ATLAS, we are taking the opportunity to test out new server configurations before we return to a larger world map. This season, our PvP servers have been designed with shorter and more focused sessions of PvP gameplay in mind. We are now introducing a new server with a much more limited company size setting. This will allow players to enjoy the thrill of PvP with smaller groups without the pressure of larger companies opposing them. We recognize that Xbox players sometimes feel disadvantaged compared to PC players, and we are therefore launching a new server that is exclusive to Xbox users. For those who prefer to play with their PC-using friends, all other servers will remain cross-play enabled. To incorporate these new ruleset servers, we will be repurposing three of our PvP servers with lower population counts: [NA][PvP] Ivory Shores [NA][PvP] Seagull’s Beak [NA][PvP] Stingray Bay Ivory Shores, Seagull’s Beak, and Stingray Bay servers will be taken offline to wipe on Monday, January 30th around 9:00 AM PST. The new servers will be available on Wednesday, February 1st around 12:00 PM PST with the New Year Patch mentioned previously in this post. New Servers Three freshly wiped 3x3 Official PvP servers will be opening with a brand new map layout. Variant 5 Information: Mixture of Tropical, Desert, Temperate, Polar and Equatorial biomes. 14. Welcome At the current state of atlas i would like to grab the attention of the devs to please fix the game or make some changes that will allow the game to grow and become good again. 1st Thing ships At the current state of the game its only one good boat to use in pvp and its such a shame when there is so much more ships avalible. the ramming gally is the only the meta atm in atlas ship pvp to use anything eles is compleat pointless there the fastes strongest and most used. the game we need the other ships to at least compeat and be to the same speed to at least make them relivent. SIMPLY speeding up all boats to small ammount can really make a diffrence. 2nd MORTORS This is simple motrots are for ship defence and should not be the nuke to stop all ground pvp at the rate they kill tames is juts silly its fine they do the damage to ships but 40& of the game love to land raid and fight on the ground but when you get one shot by a mortor it kinda defeats all inspire to raid. 3RD 3X3 SERVER THIS IS NOT WHAT WE NEED OR WANT SIMPLE I would like more input from people that play on pvp servers
  15. I absolutely love this game, we've been playing on console for years. I play with a small group of friends and we love the option to host a non-dedicated server and play together without having to rent a server. But I recently upgraded to PC. My feedback and best suggestion would be to add the option for crossplay to non-dedicated servers. Ark has this feature and I would love to see it come to Atlas. I also know many other people that would play this game if this feature becomes available. The more options you can give the players the more successful your game will be, and though this may seem simple to you it would make a world of difference in, not only mine but tons of other players, gaming experience with Atlas. 16. Hello, This game is already running Season 11 and still the main game mechanics been remaning the same. For example: Why don't try fix problem, like why game dies quick and how to keep it more alive: a) "Don't have big players base" - first reasons for that is because game need too much grind and there is no way protecting your progress. You been running so many seasons, its time to start trying out different things. - Firstly 4x Increased all rates should be applied as normal rate (less grind, more fun) - Secondly, should shourten PVP servers times (season lenght), it should go with seasons (1-2 months). Players like new starts, and early racing for islands. Could also try out even shorter seasons. - Its time also to add 1-4 player companies server in the game (with no alliense, max 1 island per companies). There is more small clans and solo players out there than zerg players, so it would be nice if player can have a change to choose , which kinda of server to play. 11 Seasons all big companies always allie up with another big companies. Also kills the game real quick, every1 is getting allied up, nothing happening. -4th, try out adding ranking system in the game and reward top players/companies with permanent skin rewards (it's almost nessesary, to learn adding/ coding seasonal rewarding system in the game, so players don't want to skip seaons or they miss permanent skins - game gonna start feeling alive). This should be piorities NR#1 to get done. I dont think i should continue here... I just hope you try to do more in next year, than previously before. Happy New Years Everybody !!!
  17. Let me begin by saying, I've not put more than 3 days into single player on the Xbox preview. I totally understand this is a working progress and I totally understand these guys have a lot on their plate between ARK and this project. But by far when all the bugs and glitches get fixed, this will be my all time favorite game no doubt. There's so much to it and pirate games like these are what I live for. Now to the topic. Really the only major change I could ask for would be the map system for finding treasure. I feel like there is zero challenge and I can just become rich instantly even on the hardest difficulty. I don't want to just see a big smudged X on barley half of an island, then have it tell me exactly what part of the grid it's in because honestly the grids are quite small with a freighter that goes 20knots with 40% weight. I played a bit of sot a while back and I rly like being able to find parts of maps at different islands or finding secret places like vaults that have gold and treasure. I want some real challenge in actually searching the seas for treasure. Trust me guys I have a blast taking over islands and fighting npc pirates and ships, I'm so glad they've added regular old npc pirate ships . But seriously, when I come up to the island and see a big red marker in the sky screaming, "IM OVER HERE!" then I get there and some pirate homies jump out of the ground and I stomp them like they're ants and take a crap load of blueprints and gold. I feel like it's just way too easy, it's almost boring looking for treasure even though it's rewarding. I want clues, detailed maps, dungeons with treasure. I want that good stuff! Anyways that's really all I have to say. I hope the Xbox version gets some good bug fixes soon!

  20. Yeah, my company is sitting out this season due to the small grid and the early wipe of this season (frequent wipes are a waste of our time). I believe they pulled the servers from players to "test an idea". They should really just hire some more servers temporarily from NItrado, but I guess they're short on money or can't be bothered. I read on discord they want to get to release 1Q 2023. I can't even remotely see this happening if they're still "trying out ideas" and given the state this game currently is in. Generally it's hard enough to find space to settle. I'm curious what a 6v6 grid will be like. I would assume you'll struggle to find anywhere to settle, but given the lack of players still playing, it could be doable. I'm not willing to find out. They hired a new community manager which looked promising, but if you (rightfully) express dissatisfaction with what they're doing you get banned (harassment) for a week or worse. So yes, it's still a dumpster fire.

  23. The last update when you had players was v402.6-ish, before the farmhouses, prefab crap, the wipes, and all the excess crap that got added that no one wanted. Want to save the game? roll back that far. The 15x15 map was amazing, could literally roll back that far with minor changes, and many old players would return. For people who just like to tame, breed and farm just add a few Ark size islands. Add greenhouse structures so we can grow crops in any biome, breed tames in any biome. We wanted legacy ships to expand to frigates, sloops should have been slightly bigger. Get rid of or change the weird ship of the damn and army of the damned, pirates or skeletons-ish would work, remove mines, farms anything and everything prefab ships and structures. The point of sailing was to go out and get those recourses, not auto farm and sell them, limit island claims and shipyards, no company should need more than 2 small and 2 large shipyards. If ships sat for too long we should be able to claim them, breeding and raising tames should be less time consuming, these are things most people wanted but no one listens to small or solo players.... the main players of your game, instead you listen to mega comps and pvp players. Sooo many more ideas that we wanted but were ignored. Watch both your trailers and see and remember the aww that we seen and the game we remember and deserve. https://youtu.be/miwYMiEUYiA https://youtu.be/7pXqX73FGFY MAGA ( Make Atlas Great Again)
  24. I'm someone who prefers the solo/small tribe life, and as soon as they announced players in the company that completes wonders first will get a cross season fortitude buff (essentially a higher base level and max level), I uninstalled. Have they reversed this idiotic decision yet? I've got an itch to reinstall, but I refuse to play a game where people are inherently stronger than me. I'm fine with odds against me as a solo because solo is a life I choose, I am not okay with people with permanent buffs I can't obtain running around.
