Yes please Limit Maximum flags per Player my Crew and i sailed around for 8 hours on our raft yesterday trying to just find a small place to build a real ship but people claim 3 islands for 2 people etc. We just gave up now not even bothering to play atm cause there's no way to progress in this game for us right now
  2. So there is a small number of individuals that can play with 8gb's of ram which is weird but the other 98% of us with 8gb's are experiencing the same problems. We are just trying to get the devs attention so keep the faith! You are not alone!
  3. Spawning in Atlas is very ill-thought out; you cannot spawn in lawless land, and it cannot be claimed. The majority of playable area is currently in lawless land as the freeports are overcrowded, and you have to build a ship somehow just to get around. Without the ability to spawn easily near your structures in a lawless land, as you cannot spawn on a bed there, actually building that ship is nearly impossible solo, and still extremely difficult in relatively small groups; all because you will inevitably die before reaching that goal and spend at least 10 minutes per death swimming back and then another 10 just to reach where you died (hint: you die a lot in this game) so the time really adds up. Please, Atlas Devs, allow spawning in lawless lands even if it is unclaimable, it'd really help.
  4. If it's a relatively small island with say... a limited amount of trees they might just decide they want 100% of the island to keep people away from their limited spawns. Why tax people 0-30% when you can have it all? From my experience so far they tend to KoS.
  5. A single person (or even a small group of people) should not be able to claim the entirely of an island, let alone the entirety of a grid. They seriously need to fix this mechanic otherwise it's going to be the same bullshit we see on Ark official where a handful of tribes rule the entire sea. "easy" fixes would be to just increase the radius of claimed territory and limit it to one per person or one per company; add an upkeep to each flag (perhaps with scaling upkeep for each additional flag you place) so players have to actually maintain territory they try to claim which prevents them from spreading out too much; add a skill tree based on claiming that does stuff like increasing the radius of the flag for bigger bases, increases the number of flags you can place, and maybe throw in some perks as well like making it take longer to contest a territory or things like that. I'm sure there are other methods that could work as well, but honestly the system as it is now is just garbage.

  7. My character is as small as possible, almost everytime i die, indoors or outdoors the corpse is below ground so i cant loot my gear >< When indoors i can just demolish the floor and get the body but outdoors its quite hard. Please fix
  8. Just a small message to show my support! Although it has been a rough start - fair play to you all for working so hard to tackle the issues especially during Christmas. Absolutely can't wait for you to sort out your early access initial problems so we can really get stuck in without the anxiety of lag/crashing. Cheers guys. Scorp
  9. We are having the same issue but we are using a small dry dock. Twice we gathered the resources and waited out the timer and both times we got nothing.
  10. K so here is my take on the game so far. The survival portion of this game is way to harsh. The whole keeping up vitamin levels, hunger, and hydration is way to much and takes away from the game. Suggestion get rid of the whole vitamin thing that is straight trash, its ok to worry about hunger and hydration but I don't want to waste 80% of the game farming for just certain food to keep my vitamin lvls up. Next I know at some point you will have the added quests IE; hunting for treasure chests and going thru dungeons and what not, but as of right now it feels like a Ark DLC. (basically ark islands with a ton of water) Suggestion post a road map of when the added quests or whatever you want to call them will be added, we need more transparency. The launch was bad but not as bad as say Ark when you first launched that in early access or Conan Exiles only difference there was WAY more hype for this game and WAY higher expectations due to the trailer. Last I love the concept and like most I was hyped because of the TRAILER now would be the time for devs and community leads to lay down a road map to get the game to the trailer point. The gaming community is so ready for a game just like the trailer and I know that there is a plan for at least 2 years of development (early access) to get the game to that point but we need a road map and pace plan. I know I'm just a small time streamer and what not but I have a lot of experience with pushing planned events and communications, if you would like to talk more let me know I'm not that far from your HQ in Seattle. (I would love to sit down and help you lay out a pace plan/road map free of charge)

Agree about the hunger/hydration/vitamins being a bit too harsh atm but I'm sure they have and will hear that a lot and make changes along the way as they did with Ark EA, lots of bumps in the road and a few really really wrong turns but at the end of the day they pulled it off. The problem I see with a road map is the toxic world of REEEEEEEEEE that we live in now, they lay out a rough plan and every small change made will be more OMG YOU PROMISED, LIARS blah blah blah, you know the routine. It's a lose lose for them anymore, don't say anything = terrible communication , tell everyone a general direction you want to take development = broken promises and lies.

  13. I'm specifying private server since some of the bugs here are definitely private server related, like the map bug thing. I have no idea whether all of them are, but just in case! Also you may have fixed some of them already, but due to the first thing on the list, I'm afraid I can't get back in to test more. Definitely Server-Related * Most recently, cannot rejoin server. We were kicked out of the server trying to cross the barrier between the main server and an expansion server, and since then we haven't been able to rejoin. We were playing version 5 on the server, the game's title page said that 5.2 was coming soon, but I was somehow playing version 5.3. Everything's synced up to 5.9 now, but still can't enter the server, even after reinstalling it and wiping all files on both the main and the expansion. (May be a Nitrado thing; I've reported this to them, too.) * While in the private server, our maps don't seem to work. Instead of what I'm seeing in screens and vids from official players--an actual map once the FoW is removed--we just have this solid block of grey fog that never lifts. We can see what might be rocks? and a skull in a triangle? as markers on the map, but we just have to sort of shoot for them blindly. Not being able to see the shape of the islands as they're uncovered is going to make the treasure map minigame pretty much impossible. There was also a point while we were heading for the cell border and passed an island that was north of us but which definitely should have been south of us--we can see the X of our position, and the only landmark that fit the bill was definitely not in that location, so...maps seem really, really buggy on our server right now. Can't retest it at the moment, though, sorry. Maybe Server-Related * Beds do not work for me. They might possibly work for my friend, but even after placing one down, I'm unable to spawn there or see it on the fast travel options screen. The fast travel options screen is also just a plain black box without a map. I also can't see the bed she placed, even though she made and placed it after we created a company. The company log registers that we've added beds to the company, but so far they're unusable. Might be a server thing since the map seems to be buggy here too, and I recall seeing a map of bed locations when I fast traveled or spawned in Ark. Probably Not Server-Related * Adding weapons to your hotbar is really strange...? This is going to be hard to describe, but basically if you have no weapons on your hotbar and want to add one, you can add it to any slot. However, once you've added a weapon to your hotbar, if you want to add another weapon, you pretty much can only replace the one that already exists. I've seen people who play on officials commenting that they can't equip their fishing rod, and then that they can only equip it where their spear was, which sounds like the same problem. Say I have a spear and want to add a bow. The bow can only go where the spear currently is--I can't have a bow and a spear equipped on my hotbar at the same time. Same goes with fishing rods, as they're considered a weapon. I can have a spear/bow/fishing rod and up to two bolas, but I cannot add a third bola. * Also, not sure just because I do play Ark--are bolas supposed to stack? Because they don't in Atlas, and I can't recall now whether there's durability on them or not. I do appreciate that it seems to pull the next one from your inventory without you having to craft it or add it manually! * Not sure if this is a bug, but some creatures don't report that they're a Level 2 tame until you try to bola them, and then it says "requires level 2!" whereas some have grey text that outright says they're Level 2. The bulls but not the cows, for instance. (I was very excited to get a pack animal to haul all that stone and wood and metal around, and then...pack mule denied. Figured it probably wouldn't work since it said it wouldn't for the cows, but it was worth a try.) * Raft crew...is hilarious. XD I don't know if this is a bug or just funny as heck, but before we left the starting island, I'd tamed two monkeys and a chicken. We each had a monkey on our shoulder when we got on the raft, but I took the chicken because why not. The raft listed us as three crew--two officers and no sailors. (I made my friend an admin, so that may be why two officers?) We decided the chicken must've been the second officer, though, and declared her first mate. Is it intentional that un-carried (unridden as well?) tames count as crew? I suppose that's one way of preventing an army of monkeys.... Suggestions Being able to see precisely what status effect we're under would be kind of nice...I don't know all the icons yet, and your "freezing to death" icon looked more like a silhouette with a blue spider, not a blue snowflake, so I was terribly confused since it came up in the middle of a port town. Was I poisoned? Was there a trap? Tiny invisible death spiders? In the middle of a Freeport town? I was all "What is with this blue hellspider?" "That's a snowflake!" my friend says, as I die of cold in the middle of town. XD * Maybe make the Freeport towns warmer? XD I mean, if you're in a Freeport, chances are you have no idea what you're doing and you're probably in cloth armor. * Or maybe make the status icons (optionally?) bigger, with an explanation? I mean, I've got two cats that hate each other, I'm not always looking at the screen when notifications pop up. * Haven't been able to find it, but maybe it already exists somewhere--if it doesn't, can something be made where you can read the starter info again? I missed about half of it because I was trying to sort out our company, and I probably figured it all out on my own, but someone else is bound to want the same thing. Salt does this nicely with lorebooks that spawn in your inventory, which you can always discard later. * Speaking of Salt...I hate to compare games, I really do, but one dude and some playdough-quality models honestly did a better job of sailing commands than this game. In Salt, you just stand at the rudder or stand at the wheel and mouse-drag to control your ship. The current system in Atlas is super-clunky, and I definitely see why you need a crew--I would die very quickly in a sea battle if I had to steer the ship and man the guns, and unfortunately my friend gets violently motion-sick from sailing in this game, so she's probably going to be incapacitated for the duration. * I went and downloaded your map maker from Github, and...well, I figured out how to create a map, and island placement, but there are a ton of server-related variables I can only puzzle out by looking at the two samples, and I'm not honestly certain I'm matching things up properly. Some documentation would be nice for the UE4 challenged when someone gets the time! The starting cell is pretty boring for private play, and the world is going to feel very small very quickly without custom maps. Anyway, sorry for the wall of text...if you have a bug database somewhere like Planet Explorers did, I'd be happy to enter them all one by one! We really did like what little of the game we managed to play, though it was sort of disappointing to realize the entire cell was going to be Freeport and without a second server, there would've been no ability to level up past 8. (And even with a second server, clearly that was not to be!) And unfortunately I can't attach logs because I completely forgot to download them before trying a reinstall...it was very late/early, and I was very tired by then, since initially Nitrado kept telling me no game existed to reinstall. (Freely admitting I'm just waiting for Host Havoc's Atlas servers to be offered before bailing on Nitrado entirely...pun maybe intended.) Thanks so much, and good luck!

I've trying to run the server and found out that we can only run it at coords X=0 and Y=0, otherwise we get connection problems, btw if you are using the small maps you should remove the ship paths at the end of servergrid.json and it may fix those errors. Anyway, I've found this messing around the atlas dedicated exe "%s?QueryPort=%d?%s?MaxPlayers=127?listen%s%s?ServerPassword=%s?ServerAdminPassword=%s%s" -nosteamclient -game -server -log I figure this is to be used to open more than one server, but I have no idea which strings those would be, you guys have any ideas?

  17. They need to find a way to balance. I'm not saying it's the perfect solution, just saying there are PVP elements in PVE servers of other MMOs. Being such a vital part of the game, it is something the Devs will have to be careful what they do. I just know it feels terrible logging in to find everything you put 20 hours into, stripped and reclaimed, but at the same time you don't want big Companies to own the entire map. Perhaps putting a diminishing return on the claim flags the more area your company has. So if you have a small area 1-2 flags it takes say 24ish hours for another company to try to claim it, but if you have more say 10ish it takes only 5hours, 20ish 1hour. The initial claim should take significantly longer the more territory your company owns.

  19. How did you delete the shipping path on the small map ? I cant find a actual shipping path. Where do you set the password for redis ?
  20. Regarding that error, I think I got round that by deleting the shipping path (in the small grid example file) that was outside of the four maps. The other error I had was simply due to me forgetting to change one of the passwords for redis. All four servers are now online for me, except every time I join I keep getting asked to install Battleye even though it's installed.

Yesterday I tried to build a SChooner and a Sloop thing is... that once the crafting starts and it finishes the ship doesnt appear (Not even the skeleton of the ship to start building it) So I'm wandering if I'm doing something wrong or if there is any special way to build it... Since I build the Small Shipyard then I choose the Sloop or the Schooner (Having all the mats in the inventory of the Shipyard) The crafting time runs up and the ship doesnt appear, anybody else had this problem?I didnt die or logged out while the crafting was in progress also the Shipyard was in my claim, I did 6 ships so far none of the spawned.....

I've got a question, Yesterday I tried to build a SChooner and a Sloop thing is... that once the crafting starts and it finishes the ship doesnt appear (Not even the skeleton of the ship to start building it) So I'm wandering if I'm doing something wrong or if there is any special way to build it... Since I build the Small Shipyard then I choose the Sloop or the Schooner (Having all the mats in the inventory of the Shipyard) The crafting time runs up and the ship doesnt appear, anybody else had this problem? I didnt die or logged out while the crafting was in progress also the Shipyard was in my claim, I did 6 ships so far none of the spawned.....
