  1. First off thank you @Chucksteak for inquiring about my "idea" and secondly thank you for acknowledging that I've been quite dedicated to this games development process for a while now. First off a statement of intent is in order. Definitions if you will. My desire is to be asked to join the development team as a consultant. To assist them in focusing their attention on the correct details, motivating the staff and regaining the respect of the players. A guiding hand if you will.. With this goal in mind I have done the following... 1. I have offered tons of free advice as an act of good faith and to ingraciate myself with players. In various threads I've also added to the advice already being given or offered alternative solutions. Assisted new players with troubleshooting. Verified bugs and reported them using the link here in the threads. Having been ignored completely by the developers and often not receiving feedback from the one-off new player asking the question I've stopped doing that. Apparently GS would rather let threads go unanswered and pay MULTIPLE people to run Discord, Facebook and Twitters business' for them.. No updated beginning guide. No moderator providing even the simplest of answers... Basically I stopped working for free. 2. I've given the developers plenty of free ideas, once again, as a show of good faith. a. Flintlocks and rifles should double as a club when empty (simply press power hit/ block buttons) b. We have a "beast mastery" tree. Some people love the tames. Other people feel they're OP and dislike them. I proposed a "beast-slayer" or "big-game hunter" spec as a counter balance. Simply put, being, specced into it would provide increased damage versus animals balancing the scales... c. Discussed the "exponential growth" dilemma on PvE regarding tames AND the monumental time investment that restricts casual players ability to partake. Offered a multi prong solution.. Simply put we "age" in this game, animals should also. Furthermore the "wandering to mate" system should be replaced with a random (RNG based) "in heat" system. Miscarriages, infertility and mate rejection should also occur. Then the associated time sink could be adjusted. d. Proposed that the "achievements" system be adjusted. If I defeat the Kraken for example let ME choose MY reward. The generic name I used was "Boss Points". Maybe I want a sub or maybe I want torpedos. Also let it be respecced. e. Recently proposed that the trade system be implemented in a different manner. Trade should COST money, not create it. Also the absolutely terrible UI should be changed to function more like a stock market. Offer your goods up and let people fill the order or pass. Let them shop and bid. f. Passive income should be provided via gold (and SILVER) bullion deposits scattered high and low around the map. Attach a widget with an NPC and gold gets deposited. Let us players have generic little taverns, bakeries, tailors and even brothels in our little settlements to generate passive income. We both know this list could go on... and on... Now, please remember, these are the ideas I've given FOR FREE. As a show of good faith. If that doesn't wet the appetite for my most SIGNIFICANT idea, well (speaking to @Gortok and the dev team) too fucking bad. It may be copyrightable. Pretty sure its novel and I KNOW its worth millions. No more free shit. I'm taking that idea with me, or, they pay me for it. This post is too long already, besides, @Chucksteak i know their lights are on, but, I don't know if anyones home. Understand now my friend?
  2. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I believe it is a boss dungeon island and that’s why you can’t build there.

If anyone receives an acknowledgement and a "thank you for your advice" from the devs be sure to let us all know... @Grendalsh laughed so apparently the developers have heeded his suggestions. He took all the time and energy to type up his feedback. Thats how an appreciative community leaders should respond, correct? With silence, right? They've got 2 years worth of comments right here the developers could skim but ,uh, now they need you to type it on discord... and, um, fill out some surveys.. Lord knows that during the 18 months I've been reading these forums daily that the community here has been crying out for Ramming Galleys and tamable Sea Horses... I've given them well over a year to acknowledge that I may have some valuable advice to offer, but, apparently, it either inconveniences them to speak directly, privately or, more likely, they're not listening. Once again take care y'all. Just remember, true friends tell you the truth, even if it's bitter. I'll visit from time to time

  5. I don't know enought to be certain this is the problem, but I would guess it is likely! Ports are one of the most frustrating and confusing parts of setting up the server IMO. Almost any problem you have will probably be port related. LOL Good luck and I hope you can get it working. Just to clarify, make sure it's really exporting to the right directory. In my case, it always wants to go to a different ServerGrid folder and I have to tell it to export to the correct folder every time. Make sure to join thos Discords. I found them super helpful and patient with my 1000 questions.
  6. 15 - Trading feedback. Alright, I finally was able to join the party and set my trading!!! a) - To do so I had to wait until guy who built closest warehouse to me - drop the game and didn't show up for 20 days. Only then I was able to demolish his warehouse and built my. So... I mean, I hope that was your plan (and it's weird plan), so players only can experience some game features after another players drop the game for at least 20 days. If not - you screwed somewhere up. What developer in the world would wanna players don't play his game??? b) - Even tho my windmill and warehouse have enough fuel, windmill always stops due to lack of storage space. It means windmill and warehouse don't synchronized at all. c) - My windmill produces just a regular stuff. Some wood, thatches, fibers and stones. I also manually gather some metal (there is one spot with nodes in my island, but there are like 30-40 nodes there) and put metal to my warehouse. I set all 1x1 exchange - wood for different types of wood. Fiber for different type of fiber. Thatches for thatches. Stones for stones. Metal for metal. And that's it. You wanna know what I found in my warehouse after I log in today? - Tons of gems (ruby, opal, diamond). - Tons of ingots (iridium and silver). - Some eggs. - 100 cannonballs. I mean. I happy with that, but... DEVs you do know HOW UNCLEAR YOUR GAME IS? I mean WHY? Why did I get all this stuff? I didn't set it up for trading... who put it in to my warehouse? Can I pick it up, or I should leave it there so all stuff will continue travel to somewhere? ¯ \ _ (ツ) _ / ¯ d) - All logs trading related are AWFULL. I mean It looks like that: - 15:00 your shipment #3897503475 was sent. - 16:00 your shipment #9823429387987 completed. And i've got like 90+ pages in just ONE DAY. I mean who in the world will be able to navigate those numbers? But the bad thing about all this stuff it not the way it made. The bad thing is... well. It gives me the opportunity not to leave the island. I mean, before that, I had to do some exploration, to gather some different resources. And it was some kind of sail age romance. You sail somewhere and then you back home with ship full of stuff. Now I only need to build three building and wait until I've got all I need. And most of all - now we actually need to do some trading work. Instead of sailing somewhere, experience sea battles, I stay in my island, and riding horse for metal, to put it in warehouse, to set yet another trading route. You really sure you wanna PVE game became this like, so everyone will log in once a day, to just relaunch windmill and check what they've got in result of automated trading? I really hope you guys really do understand where you heading your game to. Right now I have more and more doubts I understand your vision. But correct me if I wrong. We are not going to see seas adventures anymore right? No more pirates of Caribbean. No more sailing age romance? We're gonna see some kind of ARK, at the release, with bases, tames, more tames, tames with hats and happy farmers and trading tycoons around right? You should at least not torture players, who waiting for THE GAME of sailing, piracy and adventures and make a clear statement of what you plan to turn your game in to. p.s. - And yeah. I wish I was able to at least paint my windmill, warehouse and market.
  7. Am i right for 100k XP on a ship you need only 7500 gold? (considering level 60 is maybe about 100k XP -> am not sure about this but lvl 52 was about 70k if i remember correctly?) This is pretty cheap considering the costs for a galleon and the time you need to level it up to max - building it 1x common and then upgrade it to blue print parts. Well at least devs are working on the game but i read nothing that could bring me back to play Atlas again right now. Dolphin: great but no need for sloop blue print planks? At least you have more time for crafting as you don't loose the 5-10 minutes for sailing out and back to 100% distance. Diving will be tugh without running out of air as a pirate holding your breath^^ Dolphins can't be stored on a ship... they do expire when zoning... they can die when getting to the surface... remembers me on that day when i tried hooking a chest but hit a jumping Dolphin that shot me like a catapult 4000 meters away from my ship Well it was new and i forgot placing a bed on it so i had to travel to golden age 3 grids with a second ship to place bed and bring back both of them. 5 hours of time but lukily not sunk by SotD. Ship costs for my opinion still far too high. Players should at least build shooners for free if gold is meant to decrease the ship amount. Maybe Brigs and Galleons were to cheap in the past for the server capacity. Well reducing the allowed amount just leads to second accounts with a second tribe to store the ships so it does not work on PvP.(but hey, more money for more sold games) If the story about the Dragons is correct there should be some worse balancing on the gold and trade routes if it is not based on a unknown exploit/duping etc. This tribes should have same ship ammount like other seasons before... so balance for small tribes and new players is even more worse than ever. Farmhouses: Why not make 1 Farmhouse with an interface where you can choose gatter percentage and make it working 1 per company per island. Players have sliders to adjust the gattering. You can choose if berrys you need 0% and maybe 25% thatch 10% fiber 30% wood etc... and remove restriction of placing distance.(necessary for PVE servers) THe farmhouse collects all resources that are on a island no matter where it is placed(on the ground level max. 100m high for example) Idea of blue prints farm houses with increased storage and gatter rate(shown in interface) is working well with only 1 per island. This will also make it more easy to combine it to the warehouse. You do not need the radius around it to connect, you just need a circle that includes the island. This circle can ask 1 farm house allowed y/n for this company in this circle and also same for warehouse.(connection issues solved and more Players get access to it) Of course it can be abused on PvP with second accounts to get more farmhouses to work on one island... but to be honest players should not abuse such solutions and there are ways to counter such trials. Coffee will be the needed item for every land combat. Not bad. Maybe that's enough your enemy dies from running out of stamina while shield bashing you Horse stun nerfed may make other animals of more use now if they could catch up to a horse. horses will mostlikely just run away and hide in the water for 5 miuntes diving to attack the next position. Good luck hunting with a lion or a crab to catch the rider with some luck. Bola stun well i didn't realy care about land combat. The trick of dodging attackes 100% while being bolaed may now not work anymore as you can't stand anymore.(Devs noticed that exploit dodge move which requires a little skill at least) ranged weapons damage is really low and most PvP combat is based on closed combat(stun) as others mentioned already. Maybe the plate armor should not work vs fired bullets?(did not in reality at least) Does this effect also ranged waepon damage on creatures like Yetis(little ice dungeon bosses)? most players never used BP firearms other than in the ice dungeon. The costs are far to high for a raid to lose it. Nerved barrel damage is necessary as long barrels can be trown. But now it gets difficult to counter enemy horses with barrels. No suicide runs with lucky placed barrel due to timer. So you can only catch good horses with flame swivel. Horses will still dominate land combat due to swivel and speed. Even less torpor and coffee can allow players to have more chance to fight them...(if in range) to bola or hook the rider is still very difficult and good luck closing up to a cannon horse with two players that only stand for shooting when they are safe. This is the worst Atlas expirience hunting horses on a open island. Well you don't glitch off the cannon anymore due to fence spam and collision(Better for the attacker). But of course you have to spam every shit on your island that enemy horses can't move freely. Maybe puckles do work now much better as you can place them manned(much less time needed) so every settled island gets spammed with 1000 of puckles. Well sometimes horses run that fast that puckles do not shoot. Or the option you set the puckles are wrong choosen if not set on target all. Remains the old issue of structure and puckle+NPC spam to protect your islands from intruders if you are nor the one Mega Tribe with unbeatable amount of players that are always online. Well some like this expirience and consider this to be their loved hardcore survival combat expirience. I hated the permanent thinking about what if we get attacked... all the "useless" defence building that can be destroyed 20x faster than you farm and build it. And of course the never safe ships... just one cannon horse destroying one plank when anchored.... in my opinion the claimed island system is not hat bad but the combat time was too long for me. I would like to have a permanent peacetime on your structures and green anchored ships until an enemy places a war token on your tribe with 24h in front. That would make land combats and large raids more predictable and fair for the defenders. The Attackers have to consider the allies of the defender. This would not be an issue for see fights and ships would be more safe when anchored. I think this game should move away from the toxic destroying to more interaction between the enemys. But this is a thing that players minds have to do in a free environment. Well a fix rule roleplay would be to harsh for everybody but some kind between the current red is dead and a total roleplay would be more enjoyable. Why not ask an enemy if the have time for a fight? This happened to me only once and it was a great 2:2 brig combat that lasted nearly 1,5h with only one sunk ship but many fun and great sailing and moves. Because for me this game is about sea fights. And this is not 20 ships vs 1 with a harpune gally holding in place the enemy. Also glider nerf is good for the game regarding safe places to build(PvP). But why not just changing the islands and cut off the high mountains.(Max 200/250meters) Also restrict players max structure building height? Than there is no need to nerf the glider. You can still use the glider on your island but you will never reach an other island with glider.... neither crossing th border. I watch some spain streamer and he alawys blackscreened after the glider start to hide using some exploit to increase the flying distance after he jumps off. When he reaches the island in the other grid he turns on the lights again.... obvious [...] Bases build on mountains safe from cannon tames are good but not needed up in the sky...(you can still get in with grenades besides the puckle spam) climbing your ladders 4-5 minutes or placing 5-6 elevators in a row to get tames up... This is just worse island design. Islands need to have a sequre bay that you can use as a harbor with decent water depths for galleons close the the beach. If green anchored ships are secure for most of the time players don't need insane harbor structures.
  8. I am trying to get help on cpu cores and core speeds for a 3x4 with 20 player cap. also is this correct the more ram per grid allows more players to join the grid? or is that incorrect 192.168.0.1
  9. I've been bashing my head in on my desk trying to get a server up and running for like 4 days. I believe I have the server running perfectly now, but the problem is, I cannot access the server from the external IP address, only the local machine IP. I am an expert Minecraft server admin, so I'm pretty familiar with forwarding ports, and getting a server up, but this is doing me in! I have forwarded the ports that I know of on my router. Every time I check for the open ports on Open Port Check, it says they are closed. (My Minecraft server ports are open). The Atlas server settings are so complicated, I feel like I MUST be missing something here. I started out doing this myself, but finally found Atlas Server Control and have been doing everything in that now. I have spent hours googling and reading and there are hundreds of people struggling with the same thing but no answers, at least not that have helped me. For the sake of security, I will obscure all but the last 3 digits of my IP addresses for this discussion: Local machine IP, which allows me to connect: ###.###.###.102 Router's public ISP IP address: ###.###.###.201 I have a Linksys EA8300 router if it matters. Here's the information on the settings that I have: The game ports are as follows, as set in the ServerGrid.json / Shards in ASC: "Port"=57560-57590 "GamePort"=5760-5790 "SeamlessDataPort"=5003 Redis is using 5018 (Successfully, I think?) Here are my router settings: https://i.imgur.com/B85rAzC.png Here is the settings in one shard of my server: https://i.imgur.com/rj9vKMz.png (Note, although this screenshot shows my local machine ip address in the IP field, I have tried both public and local IP address in the shard IP. I'm not sure what's supposed to be here, exactly. The ASC wiki says "internet facing" ip, but that doesn't work either.) When I use the Steam server interface to look for the server, and use the local IP (###.###.###.102:57560) I see my server fine. After forwarding the ports on my router and adding rules to my machine's Windows firewall, Steam says "Server is not responding" when looking for the public IP ###.###.###.201:57560 Here's all that I've done so far: Went through all the json/config files and ASC settings to make sure the ports and IP's are right. The only question I have is whether the server/shard's ip should be public or local? (...###.102 or ...###.201?) I've tried both with no success but it's not clear to me what that should be anyway. I have checked several times that my port forwarding settings are correct on my router. I have tried all kinds of different port settings, not just the current ones listed here. I have checked and rechecked the Windows Firewall (and disabled it) and had no luck. I have downloaded and looked at CurrPorts to see the traffic from my machine and what ports are being used. I see some questionable things in there, but not sure how to interpret them or if they are a problem. Mainly, ShooterGameServer.exe is using 0.0.0.0:5003 for each shard. (remember, this port is the "SeamlessDataPort" in the shard settings.) I also notice that ShooterGameServer.exe is using 0.0.0.0:5760-90 (shards GamePorts!). I think this is suspect, but I don't know what settings are causing this. (Here are some other screenshots that might matter: ShooterGameServer.exe using both 0.0.0.0 and 127.0.0.1 on various ports. If this is wrong, I'm not sure how to fix it: https://i.imgur.com/8RADTWV.png Atlas Server Control.exe using remote port range of 47555-47590 for TCP, but the local port is constantly scrolling through higher ports. I have no idea what this means. I have tried forwarding the 47555-90 range to no avail. I've tried specific ports, port ranges, all ports, turning off the firewall. I have even added rules that say allow access on all ports to ShooterGameServer.exe, Atlas Server Control.exe I've come to the conclusion that this probably isn't a windows firewall issue, but something I've done wrong in the settings. Any insight/help is appreciated. I really want to get this working, but I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!
  10. I originally bought Atlas about 1 year 3 months ago as a bit of a time filler whilst I waited for Mount and Blade 2 and the next Total War. Here I am 1813 hours later. I never wanted to be involved in the PvP and I don't have the luxury or temperament to be a part of a Corp. I get called out to work without notice frequently and can't be relied upon to be on when I may be needed. And I can be a grumpy old git at times. I have at times been helped and have helped quite a few friendly players out there and have enjoyed that. However, in all the time I have been playing atlas on the official servers. I have never seen more than two or at the very most three other players at the same time. This is not a game where you will engage with other players. it is basically a solo game with a few other players probably in different time zones. I realise if you engage in Discord etc. there may be ways of arranging more interaction, but I really cant be arsed with the immaturity endemic on that platform and I don't think a good game should rely on external websites to push its experience, it smacks of corporate failure if they cant maintain and update there own flagship website how can they build a successful business. I have played this game like I play all others. With the intention to experience and achieve as much as I can of the game. This includes completing all available quests. I have a range of all ships (apart from the Ramming abortion) and three markets with warehouses and a minimum of three farms for each market. I have in each base sufficient resources to build at least 3 Galleons. Despite this I feel that because I can not and do not wish to join a Corp I have been excluded from a large part of the game experience. It would be nice if the Developers took note and included some sort of global communications in the game instead of being stuck talking to just your current zone. At the moment the zones my main base resides is completely unplayable. All actions have to be repeated five or six times as you get lagged back to where you were up to 1 minute before. Indeed today I have visited six zones and five lawless zones which are similarly affected. The current state of play with the game is unfortunately completely unplayable. I have formed the opinion the Development team do not have a clue how to progress the game and keep making random changes, at whim without consideration of the game play balance or the stability of the games environment. I cannot be sure of the actual stats but as a player I feel like the player base has dramatically reduced over the last two to three weeks to the point where seven or eight zones which previously would have had a healthy three or four or more players, now are empty. I get the feeling the players are showing the development team there opinion on their games direction. I suspect that this is wholly intentional tactic from the development team and expect that when the servers are restarted, for the start the new season, in a couple weeks time, there wont be a PvE server. When the community complains they will respond 'but there was to few players on the PvE servers to justify the expense'. I originally bought this game as I liked the idea of the pirate life but have slowly realised there is absolutely no piratical gameplay elements. It is a very simple survival/Minecraft clone with a couple of ships thrown in without thought of what to do with them. Please correct me if you feel I am wrong about this but; There is no boarding of ships you cant really go out carousing and the combat dynamics are simply laughable. Since when do pirates buy their ships. Can you imagine Blackbeard: 'Guys can you give me a hand I need to carry 2.5 tonnes of my hard won gold doubloons to the shopkeeper to upgrade to a new 'Queens Annes Revenge'. Oh just so you know its a fuc*ing penteconter, a single deck ramming galley with cannons bolted on, ---- no far less than the current Galley! -------- Ok, guys don't take the piss I know it was out of date when the Romans held the Mediterranean but its all these Cun*s can think of'. Can you imagine his response when he is told he has to slay the entire worlds population of rhinos as well. I imagine his crew would exercise their democratic right and demote him to cooks boy. I think in the interest of honesty the name should be changed to 'MineCrap the Zoo merchant' because you will spend far more time building, Taming or in your market begging for others to create trade routes than you will on the open sea.

  12. @George Catcher I agree its a problem, especially in PvE, but i advise modifying the solution your proposing. Smaller claim zones will result in MORE of these being built, not less. If they revert to the old claim system these will be everywhere, btw If i understand your proposal correctly your recommending districts, or, municipalities, correct? I've considered this idea also.. I think the better solution is simple "no build" zones. Period. Multple claim points per island, but, a GENEROUS amount of simple no building allowed space. Also, regardless of the size of the company, the claim space size stays constant. A large island could easily accommodate 8+ modest claim sites and stay 75% no build. Zero. Fit it in your claim or it lives on a boat. One last Caveat, max height ~6 stories. My 2 cents

"ServerCustomDatas1":NPCShipDifficultyMult,NPCShipDifficultyLerp,NPCShipNumMult,FloatsamQualityMultiplier,TreasureBottlesEnabled,DisableClaimFlags,NPCShipSpawnIntervalMult", "ServerCustomDatas2": "2.0,0.5,1.6,1.4,0.0,1,0.21", If I were to change that one it would be "ServerCustomDatas1":NPCShipDifficultyMult,NPCShipDifficultyLerp,NPCShipNumMult,FloatsamQualityMultiplier,TreasureBottlesEnabled,DisableClaimFlags,NPCShipSpawnIntervalMult,RainChanceForCyclones", "ServerCustomDatas2": "2.0,0.5,1.6,1.4,0.0,1,0.21,0", This way you still get rain but no cyclones. I found this setting by going through the default ServerGrid.json with Notepad++ and there were several zones that had it applied. Since then I always add it to my own map and have not seen a cyclone since, apart from one zone I missed then went back and corrected, however I do still have rain.

  16. Ok, thanks, i will set private when the partners are online, so we can correct if need. Probably when the system will use more grid than the local one, that will help reduce the lag a lot, youre right. Atm, my grid we have only a 8-10 warehouse only, but the ping is alwas 220-255, unplayable and with rubberbanding, the sailing is off the table too.

  18. Did you pay to play early access or what? Why would you pay to help a game, and then repeatedly state that you don't want to help unless you get paid? Sidenote I think you are correct about the reading more. Some people say 1 vessel? Why just 1? Why would they be poor raiders if gallys suddenly appeared? If you go to attack someone, and they have no gallys, that is sad, but then if they have gallys suddenly appear, that would be fun. Sheesh. Possible intelligence gathering dilemma indeed.
  19. Just running through a broad checklist, so please don't get offended... Ive had ships sunk before but i had damage floaters come up. Invisible rock bug. Long time ago. Also I sometimes play with 2 accounts, on side by side TVs, ...ONE time one screen showed leaks everywhere and had me freaking out panicking... However my 2nd screen showed all recent damage repaired. Long story short the 2nd screen was correct, i just had to reboot the first account and it began displaying accurately. So no damage floaters came up? Your sure it wasn't over the crew capacity or over the weight limit? If a ship sails long enough simple wear and tear will gradually damage the planks, if they go unrepaired eventually your boat will leak and sink.. Do you put a crew member on repair when you anchor? Plenty of repair supplies in resource chest? Any other factors, for example, had you just crossed grids, were you in shallow water, whale territory, been through a cyclone recently, near an iceberg, near a control point etc? Any chance a company member accidentally (or purposefully) deleted a plank? Also check your crew logs, they may have info. Perhaps your view of the damaged plank was obscured by furniture or walls? You can take a second boat w a diving platform out to the wreck and potentially inspect it from the outside. PvP server or PvE? If your POSITIVE it was a bug, report it. They will not replace the ship but perhaps they can fix whatever caused it for the future. Provide as much relevent info as possible. Good luck, sorry for the loss
  20. @Chucksteak Like @Xantria said, i like your idea in general. Perhaps the gold cost aspect COULD help but then we get a grind vs reward dilemma also. Her and @eeeceee are also correct in stating that players would use them as a FOBs to launch endless waves of landbased attacks (unless a mechanism was introduced to prevent this) Theoretically a Mega could park half a dozen of these FOBs around tons of islands (alt account dilemma) and pillage endlessly simply using a 2nd ship to resupply and fast travel to zip around. If simply implemented EXACTLY as you've stated it WOULD lead to island wastelands, unless its "reworked" some more as i stated. I think the idea being proposed by the devs of some type of armored shipyard w an upkeep cost MAY be the best solution (aside from the one I'm keeping to myself for now). Even that needs some tweaking i think based on some other posts I've read. Also, they may create a similar FOB problem, unless theres some rules regarding them I'm unaware of (doing PvE this season to learn the trade system and adjust to the sticker shock of ship prices). Someone stated the current ones take ~850 cannonballs EACH to destroy. Then youve got the ship to sink also, unless its destroyed when the dock goes down, i dunno, does it? Can they be placed anywhere or does it have a requirement to be near the flag?... Also, anyone know the preplaced weight? Can multiple ones be carried around and placed wherever the defences are lacking? Also some people have proposed allowing 1 vessel to be uploaded into the "cloud". This is also a possible solution but needs to be implemented correctly or some poor raiders will find Gallys unexpectedly raining down on them . Also it presents a possible intelligence gathering dilemma for raiders, specifically, how do they choose a target if they don't know the approximate strength of their adversary? Sidenote @Chucksteak dunno if you noticed but i cited your general ideas regarding the upcoming claim system. Have a good turkey day

Although i must compliment ya on bustin my balls VERY politely, lol The devs clearly state that, in its current form Atlas is a mishmash of ideas and needs a stronger theme. I agree 100%. I think you do too hence the "headless chicken" reference. I didn't start until season 3, although I've watched some videos of previous seasons gameplay. Perhaps theres a nostalgic time prior to my arrival that your fond of? If your statement about 2 steps back refers to the variation of the old claim system that it sounds like they're going to potentially revert to, then, on that particular mechanic I think we agree its likely a bad idea, correct? I'd lean more towards a mostly lawless system similar to @Chucksteaks vision. I actually have THE solution but as i mentioned in a previous post, i believe it's a completely novel approach, applicable to nearly any mmo, and I've been cautioned to refrain from discussing it at this time. Side question do you agree that at level 1 each player should begin w the schooner i recommended?
  22. Hey i got the solution for u, this applies if u started in on of the regions instead of the usual freeport! 1. U have to commit suicide, easy enough find a shark high cliff hit a wild bear. 2. At your respawn screen select change home region. Be prepared to loose connection to the game but dont worry, change the home region to closest freeport. 3. Click through all the connection lost messages, until u get back to main menu. If not force the game to close by windows button + d, then right click over atlas and close windows. Make sure u have atlas closed and exited b4 proceeding to 4. 4. Start Atlas again. Do not select rejoin server, instead select join server. Select correct server, and select the freeport that u previously selected in 2.!!! 5. U will now spawn in a freeport and able to play. I am not sure if u have fixed the prb at this point but u prb have, what i did from here was to get mats for a sloop and bought it from guy on pier. sailed back to my base abd when i landed at shore i got the discovery of it! and game worked. I also did something else between 1 and 2, i am not 100% sure what i did, u see it took a few days b4 i posted it here so i apoligize for that, but i think i went to freeport at respawn screen, and killed myself again there then changed home region. If it doesnt work 1st time try again as i sugested above. But the most important thing is!! do not select rejoin server at 4!! Happy tradeing and hunting. Lazsa

I understand the ConfigOverrideSupplyCrateItems= (blah, blah long string of commands), but I can't figure out the proper names for any tables other than the following: PrimalInventoryBP_SupplyCrate_Floatsam_C PrimalInventoryBP_GenericFishing_C PrimalInventoryBP_BaseMeatFishing_C Anyone know the correct "SupplyCrateClassString=" names I should be using for SotD, Treasure Map, Shipwreck/Sunken Treasure, Pirate Encampments, etc? Would be much appreciated.
