  1. This happens sometiems if your crouched for example or made some action while your character is in any kind of animation. Usualy the best option is to kill yourself with drowning or stamina loss. After respawn you should be fine again.
  2. I agree with that. They should ban the term EA going forward by law. And block all EA games from Steam. The very term EA was hi-jacked. EA used to mean when you pre-ordered a game, EA allowed you to log on 3 or 4 days before the full release date. All EA games seem to border on fraud. They are always almost nowhere close to being finished, not running well, and normally don't even have a path set forth. At least not a path that is not replaced 5 times once in EA. Then players pay to yes, beta test. Oh, and they always come with a large supply of pillow talk and love whispers about a grand future.
  3. Sometimes I feel early access should be renamed "pay to beta test".
  4. Would it be possible to keep QoL skills between wipes? While this is possible it is not something that should be done without consideration. The most active time is the few weeks after a wipe when players are all at the same progress level, same island claim opportunity, etc. Allowing players to keep their quest progress will give an unfair advantage to those players. We are looking into ways of reducing the repetitiveness of the progression to endgame. Sounds like BS to me! Wipes are nothing but a short population by boost destroying players progress and forcing them to regrind old content. The early game sucks and its boring. I've seen it too many times. This is not about being fair. People start out fresh and are behind others all the time. It's an MMO, that's how it works. Destroying people's progress over and over is not how it's done in MMOs. Even those that start fresh at the same time have different play rates and are quickly at different levels and progress. As in all MMOs. And it matters less than zero on pve. For pvp how about something more logical if you want a wipe... Now that we have portals, link pve zones and pvp zones. Then only wipe the structures on pvp zones only, leaving the pve zone untouched and skills untouched. Maybe two factions of pve zones on either side of the pvp zones like pirates and the English. After a pvp zone wipe, the pvpers can race in to claim and do their thing. While the pveer can support their faction. Now you have an economy and more game play. Doing it without buying a population boost by destroying players efforts. ... The real problem is currently many players run out of content once they reach a point, then play less. So, you make them regrind old content over and over. And in the process, you piss off the long remaining player base. I can't think of any other MMO that does this. ... One mega server, split in two sides/factions (or more), with a large rich pvp zone in the middle. Rich as in something worth fighting over. Not just fighting just to fight. Rich pve zones that pveer never need to leave if they choose not to and from which they can support the needs of their pvp faction should they choose to.
  5. +1 on Teron Grey above, you should absolutely be looking at unofficial and mods!! further to this bots should be able to repair all ship parts! Being a pirate is a dream for everyone it only needs to be fun to be successful!
  6. Y'all should definitely be taking a long, hard look at what unofficial servers are doing, and that not just being lip-service. The only reason the steam activity numbers aren't worse is because so many of us migrated to private servers with mod and setting changes to make the game fun again; instead of just quitting entirely. Also, just hire Klinger already. His ships put your modular designs to shame just in visual appeal alone.
  7. Ahoy Pathfinders! We're bringing back an old favorite as we wait for the next update to come to shore. Last weekend, in our community Discord, we opened a channel to gather any and all questions from our community for our amazing Dev team. We reviewed all the questions and we've answered a few of them below. Even if yours was not selected to be answered publicly, we are taking all of your responses as feedback to continue to make to Atlas a better game for all. Thank you to all that participated. As a reminder, the answers below only reflect the current timeframe and are subject to change. While we can provide current insight on the game and what we hope to do, what is destined we can’t foresee. We appreciate your support and understanding. Without further ado, here’s our Q&A! Hang out in our Discord for a chance to get your questions answered in the next Q&A! Q&A Would it be possible to keep QoL skills between wipes? While this is possible it is not something that should be done without consideration. The most active time is the few weeks after a wipe when players are all at the same progress level, same island claim opportunity, etc. Allowing players to keep their quest progress will give an unfair advantage to those players. We are looking into ways of reducing the repetitiveness of the progression to endgame. When will Bola's be stackable? April 13th Patch Do you have plans on expanding the lore of Atlas? Yes, there are plans to expand the lore of the game world. We are currently working on systems for this. One of the contributors to this is the addition of the “Timeworn” quality level on blueprints. Is there a way to see all the features you plan to add before you move into the fixing and optimization phase? Please keep an eye on the official roadmap listed on the Trello board. (link here) This will be updated constantly to keep features in development public. Have devs ventured into unofficial communities to see how gameplay differentiates with mods? How has that impacted the future plans for the game? The unofficial communities have done a wonderful job with creating custom Atlas experiences. We look for mods that are widely adopted by the community in an effort to absorb the feedback. If a mod is universally used, that means there was an issue with the core game that needed to be addressed. We use that information to update our plans and address that issue. What can be done to make the game more enjoyable for the solo and/or small group player(s)? We are re-working the live realm maps so that the islands that mega-companies will be drawn to are outside the main travel routes. In addition, there are going to be several smaller islands added that are not enticing to large companies, which should allow for solo/small groups to have a positive Atlas experience. Are there any plans to change/add unwanted, repetitive islands to improve the balance between islands? During our polish phase we will be adjusting these islands to make them more enticing. Do you guys have plans to adjust endgame PVE? There are seven new bosses being added so each powerstone will have a unique boss encounter. We will be investigating different avenues to enhance maps as well in the future. When I leave my ship anchored the sailors will only repair the planks & decks of the ship. Are there plans to have the sailors repair the whole ship at some point? This is something we can look into in the future, but is currently not being planned. Will you add the ability to use deck swivels for modular ships? We will be adding additional modular railings in the next few patches. A Modular railing with swivels is planned to be included. Are there any plans to create a healthier breeding system so people won't burn out from breeding on the official server? We are implementing a new structure called the Tame House. This structure will greatly improve the breeding experience. What as the Dev Team are your plans to maintain and grow the player community? For the official side of Atlas, there has been discussion around a few ideas. One of these ideas might be a smaller “specialty” realm or realms. These specialty realms may have a shorter season time, maybe just one month, and revolve around different game modes. For example, there would be one month where tames are removed from the game, or where the only weapons are swords and pistols. I know a lot of people want to see a timeline of updates/planned updates/planned wipes/etc. Is there a plan for more transparency of what’s to come for Atlas? After release, we will have a regular schedule for our wipes, new seasons, and patches. The Trello board will contain this information. Any details on the Devkit update? The Devkit gets updated at least once a season, usually around the beginning of the new season. We may update it more frequently, especially if we introduce a large system. Any more plans for livestreams like we had around launch? We have not had any discussions about this, however we would love to have a live Dev steam. Will there be temporary alliance bed placement on your alliances ships and or foundations? This feature is something we have been planning on implementing for a little while, it should make its way into the game in the near future. Any plans to update to a newer version of Unreal Engine? There has been discussion about updating to Unreal Engine 5 at some point in the future. It is a tremendous amount of work that will sidetrack us for months, so we have not made a decision yet on if that’s the best course of action. Final Note Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted. Features and changes that ultimately make it to the next patch, as well as timing, may be different from what was previously discussed. As always, we appreciate the suggestions and feedback from the community. Please keep them coming! Thank you for all of your support! 9. I have an xbox one x brand new. Top of the line. Big black rectangle. Thanksi purchased a product. They took my money. The product should function Otherwise what did i pay for? This is unethical business If the game won't work on xbox.... don't take money from xbox players. Plain and simple
  10. well I guess to waste your time playing a video game... but I feel you. It's a great game to build stuff but to loose it is way to easy and unexpected^^ You should try PvP xD
  11. 1 The announcement on the official xbox club was in February and labeled the 26th not the 24Th. Which should matter 2 a brand new xbox is not an old xbox the top of the line xbox is not a weak xbox. The game is sold on Xbox therefore it should run on xbox. They took my money and according to most posts on this forum i was lied to. The game doesn't play on xbox. So are you telling me fraud has occurred? Why was a post put on the official xbox page for Atlas claiming an update would occur "on the 26th", if no update ever took place
  12. desync is a problem that occurse some times and you solve it by suiciding as mentioned.(drown/ eat poop) It was also a bug when bed teleporting while you crouched... but that bug was mentioned to be fixed. If you can't connect with the primal_BP issue you should first try not to click rejoin and go for manual server join. You have to choose a rookie cove server and it will redirect you after a short unable to que message to the correct server. If this does not work you may try to use a VPN service to conect to internet which solves the connection issue in some cases. Sometimes it's mentioned that you should delete the loading screen video... but that was in 2019 and may not be the issue anymore if your PC is quite decent.
  13. With us very soon reaching the sub 1k player count and possibly another all time low, I noticed that atlas world now has dark side and radioactive as servers now. good idea for more than one reason. Before if someone looked at the steam charts for atlas they would see 1200 players and think that was a good number. First of all that is a very pathetic number to begin with. Next when you look at atlas world you can see the difference between official and unofficial servers. darkside has more than official pvp, official pve, and radioactive combined. don’t get me wrong I am not praising darkside because 600 isn’t good either but having said that only 100+ on pvp and 200+ on pve is just abysmally embarrassing lol. might take another month to reach the all time but I need to remind everyone that player numbers only go up after a wipe. That is the only time for the whole 3 plus years of this games development. Never any content or update has grown the player count. Only wipes. having said that, the new devs supposedly said they wouldn’t wipe. If they don’t player counts will never rise and only get smaller. If they do wipe that means they were liars and should not be trusted or respected. also, if they do wipe remember I told you they will change the map as an excuse for the wipe even though nobody asked or has ever asked this whole time for a map change.
  14. I've just returned to Atlas ( 3 days ago ) to find a whole new map and system. Now I did play when claim towers first got released and it has not improved. On pve you can not get on any islands outside of Rookie cove. Lots of mega companys inhabitating multiple islands and make it difficult or impossible to settle on. You are losing a lot of players as I'm already bored sailing around looking for land to settle on. No I'm not asking for permission to play the game from another player. You either add more land ( will hamper performance, or you seriously limit what companys have. I'm sure you introduced warehouses and the automated buildings to promote trade but still allow mega companies to own and control multiple islands for the resources they don't have at home base. Then they just get it shipped internally with minimal risk. Get rid of the automation or make it possible for every player to achieve regardless of if they solo or a mega. Warehouses should be 1 per company. You want your legendary ship, go farm the other 4 types of wood, metal etc etc or trade for it. But no, these idiots deva yet again pamper the Mega's monopolising everything. You shouldn't have to ask for permission to play a game from another player because he thinks he owns the island. We have all bought this game and if I have to start asking other players for permission, the I want my money back because this is not what I purchased
  15. Does wheatgrass still exist as a degradable resource? on atlas.fandom I find the grids that should have wheat, but the map seems to be out of date. atlas.antihax. seems to be up to date but I can't find any wheat there. I'm in E7 right now. I'm happy about hints.
  16. The developer should make our character available for us to continue the game, is B.... crap have to loose all we done and have to start again and this is my 2 time, they should give our money back if they can 't have a working game then.
  17. =INTRODUCTION= I've recently decided to come back and take a look at ATLAS after a very lengthy hiatus from the game. Not being into the "MMO" scene, I elected to go back to Single Player and see what changes have been made - on both the "Ocean" map and the Blackwood map - which was initially designed for smaller servers/Single Player. What is disappointing to see is that Single Player - a game mode that has been included from the start - appears to have been neglected in favour of "doubling down" on the multiplayer aspect which appears to be going catastrophically wrong, given the rather passionate responses I've been reading through today. Single Player is useful to people for many reasons. 1 - It allows people to play ATLAS either alone or, though a non-dedicated server (or even a small dedicated server), with a small group of friends and experience the storyline of ATLAS. 2 - It allows people to get a feel for ATLAS without the rampant toxicity multiplayer servers typically devolve into. 3 - It allows people to experiment with and/or design ships and bases that they may decide to employ on a multiplayer server. For those reasons alone, while it may not be "the focus" of Grapeshot Studios (which to me is seems like Wildcard but by a different name), Single Player should be maintained in the same manner as Multiplayer. The following is my opinion, some suggestion and recommendations which - while I am only one person with one opinion - may spark some more creative flare from a developer or a group that can take this further than I possibly could. =CONTENT= For the most part, given my several hours of reacquainting myself with the systems and mechanics, the "new" map that came with the Trade Winds update so far appears to be a significant improvement over the previous iteration. However there are still areas that require addressing. 1 - Ships of the Damned. This was one of the major reasons I stopped playing (from a Single Player perspective) ATLAS the first time around. SotD seem to ignore any damage resistance/modifier changes. They also still spawn in the *STARTER* zone. While a fully crewed sloop in multiplayer can probably outrun them (assuming good wind - which, granted I did not have in SP at the time of my encounter), my partially crewed Single Player sloop was sunk in 4 volleys by a Level 28 Brigantine. After searching high and low for a command line or mod to assist with SotD, I ended up disappointed. I understand that SotD and AotD are embedded into the storyline and the end-game resources so they cannot be removed entirely - however their number and power should be able to be managed by command line/in-game slider. There should be a map guide (or even a revision of the mechanics surrounding SotD) explaining the likelihood of SotD encounters and their relative power in the zones/regions - similar to what occurs for Wild Pirates - so players can make informed decisions. My recommendation for handling Ships of the Damned for Single Player and small Multiplayer servers is to either implement a slider (or command lines) that reduces the level, damage and group size of SotDs that spawn in and disable their spawning in the STARTER zone (at least), if not the zones immediately surrounding the STARTER zone, ENTIRELY. This gives the player(s) a bit of breathing room to get themselves established - so that when the player reaches the open ocean in either an AI-crewed (or player-crewed) Brig or Schooner (or something larger, provided they can acquire the resources from the starter zone/immediate zones) they at least have a chance to defend themselves if they're unable to avoid the ship. I would also recommend, especially for Single Player - but could also work very well in both an Official and Unofficial setting, that SotD only spawn in the regions containing, and immediately surrounding, the Stones of Power locales. 2 - Wild Pirates. This is not a negative, this is actually a commendation. I actually very much applaud of the addition of these AI pirates from not only a Single Player perspective but also from a PvE and PvP perspective. It gives PvE something to fight against on the sea (aside from SotD) and gives the PvPers something to practice against. From a Single Player perspective it implies that the player is trying to establish their own pirate empire. The map also advises the player on just how powerful the Wild Pirates are in the zones/regions before you enter them - so the player can make an informed decision about entering the zone. 3 - Stupidly high temperatures An island with an ambient temperature of 63 degrees. That's hotter than Dubai on a hot day. In fact, that's 7 degrees hotter than the highest recorded temperature. And these temperatures kill players trying to level. Not even swimming in the ocean works at these temperatures. Either a global temperature adjustment, or a command line/slider to manage how high (and also low) temperatures get. 4 - Blackwood This map was intended to be the ideal answer for small multiplayer servers and Single Player. After exploring the map and reading comments regarding Blackwood on Steam (I've not read the comments here) it is apparent that the upkeep of the map has been abandoned. Certain trees are missing textures, it's missing certain resources and certain spawns are tricky to find. At the very least, I would encourage an update to Blackwood to ensure that those who play on the map have access to the same content as the multiplayer game in a much more condensed size. This would also suit smaller multiplayer servers. However I do have an alternate suggestion: 5 - New Map: The New World A map with the same overall size as Blackwood, but modelled after the real world - much like what the multiplayer ATLAS is doing, but on a more compressed scale. Players start in the Caribbean freeport and the Americas on the western side of the map - with the expansive "Atlantic Ocean" (containing the Kraken's Maw - and 'Atlantis' in the depths) between them and Europe, Africa (and perhaps even a representation of Asia and Australia, if it would fit) on the eastern side with the polar caps hosting icy zones representing the Arctic and Antarctic regions at the top and bottom of the map. Where possible animals would be assigned to spawn on their respective land masses/biomes (i.e. Lions, Elephants and Giraffes in Africa, Wolves in the Americas and Europe, etc.). The Stones of Power can be spread throughout the world (such as ruins in South America and Africa, hidden away in ruined castles in Europe, etc) which encourages the player (or players) to sail and explore - to tame specific creatures they would need to head to specific biomes (which, with the ability to utilise the new 'tame transporter' ship, can be great to showcase what is possible in ATLAS). It would also give players several distinct choices on where to live (the Americas, Caribbean, Europe, the Mediterranean or Africa - or the north/south pole as they choose). This map would also include the necessary resources and requirements for end-game content (such as Atlantean ruins), and need to be able to be expanded upon (in terms of catering to future content). As referenced above regarding SotD, SotD would only spawn in certain regions, though especially in the oceans adjacent to Stones of Power and surrounding the Kraken's Maw - meaning a player or players can go 'hunting' for them with only a very minor chance of them appearing elsewhere - and certainly not as soon as you exit the starter zone. 6 - Gold This is more specific to Single Player, but more ways to find/earn gold would be a great addition. As Single Players *need* gold to manage the larger, more capable ships - even to use a Sloop to get off the starter island - one could find themselves essentially bottlenecked trying to find enough gold to afford a crew. I have no issue with the cost of AI crew, or their cost of retention, but coming up with the gold to pay for them to begin with was quite challenging. In my playthrough, very few bits of flotsam spawned in the starter area and I found myself having to use a raft (after already buying and prepping the ill-fated Sloop) to head out into the adjacent, more dangerous zone, to look for flotsam - to then head back to the starter area in order to get myself a crew. In SP, I suppose I am not penalised for staying on the starter island (with the exception of not having access to metal) so this might not be seen as much of an issue, but in a multiplayer setting - you don't necessarily want your players to base out of the starter island: you want them to leave and explore the larger ATLAS world (hence why there is now no metal on the starter islands). Even if, in SP specifically, one of the vendors in the freeport bought a stack of wood, thatch or stone for 1 gold. It's a lot of work (rates notwithstanding) for little gain but if a player is struggling and they're prepared to put in the effort, they can afford to get off the island with a crewed Sloop, leaving the starter zone behind them (though I would still return myself, especially if I was hosting a non-dedicated session with a friend - or if it was a private server). =CONCLUSION= Overall, I did find that ATLAS had fewer, less obvious bugs than when I last played - so it has clearly had some TLC applied. During my 5 or so hours getting reacquainted, I had no trouble with the way leveling now works, or the introduction to progression. I can not, obviously, speak to the balance of the wider multiplayer game as I personally would not seek to play ATLAS on such a scale - as I play with a small, close group of friends. From what I've been able to observe and achieve in my time, there is no issue with how things progress (with the exception of SotD and extremely high temps). If the 6 main points above were to be addressed and/or achieved this would put ATLAS in good stead when it comes out of Early Access. If "v1.0" does not contain methods to address or fix the issues listed above, the game cannot be considered "out of Early Access" when features it has had since EA launch do not function as intended across all game modes. Thank you for reading.
  18. OK so we're getting a new ship that has the ability to carry tames in a hold, definitely needed, but is it limited to one ship? Do the devs actually understand that people may want to be able to carry tames on all their ships in order to use them when treasure hunting. The model they have for this tame carrying railing takes the spaces needed for deck cannons. Also allot of space below top deck & lower decks is under utilised, this space could be made into a proper ships hold for all cargo's including animals rather than adding a new railing structure that takes up cannon space on the top deck.. also as basic tramp freighters cannot be built on & can't carry cannons they should not be targeted by the ships of the damned (sotd have been loitering around portals trapping ships against against portals as they exit the portal & sinking them, this is not a good way to retain new players who have everything on board their ships (because there's no room left to build bases on shore lines). Also when players place claim towers to build a base on the shore line so they can build a ship yard/Dock near their base & some large company decides to anchor a ship just to permanently leave it there, it prevents the person who's building from placing a shipyard, a way around this would be to prevent a non company member from anchoring in claimed territory...
  19. I love to play large mmo games & frankly prefer multilayer to single player which is what these games are designed for. I Have only recently started playing Atlas & love the theme of it in the role play sense for pve however the fact that it can take months to build up a base & ships experiencing the game to its fullest with other players to then have all that time waisted by some ignorant developer who wipes a server just to maintain access for new players (rather than opening new official servers) is a major put off, I get that there are build limits & servers need to be kept un cluttered but that can be done by limiting companies to a few players who have also have build limits & also land claim limits also servers player caps reduced.. there is also a problem where some companies are preventing players from building docks etc by leaving unused boats on shore lines, Damn trolls.. As developers rather than wiping everyone's hard work You should be putting in the time to clean the servers of unused structures or ones deliberately placed to obstruct others when claim towers cannot... Get your Act together grapeshot...
  20. I have the same problem should be fixed immediately otherwise I will be sure to refund.
  21. I can under that you don't wish to have politics in your discord chat. But I feel H2O melons over exceeds that fact and dives right into censorship which itself is politically revealing by who you "employ" as moderators. I got a warning, I changed topics but similar, and H20 Melons just muted me. This isn't my first. Melon is the only mod or others of priv who have had a problem with me. I watch his/her behavior in chat and it seems both zealous and political on Melon's part. Should I bother playing or being in this game's discord if you have a mod who is ether overlly zealot or has a political agenda abusing powers?
  22. Well the fact that over 60% of the people are on unofficial which it shows in the remaining 750 or so on steam charts after the 500 on official already tells you something. plenty of suggestions. Offline raid protection. And not like the kind you are thinking that can be exploited by just not ever getting on. Specific raid times like Conan exiles would be sufficient. All 24 hours is pvp including players and ships at all times. Base raiding has a time window. Some might not like but but that really doesn’t matter. This is about getting more players in an not the appeasement of the tiny current player count. no more modular ships. That was by far the worst idea they ever had. It got rid of one of the fun aspects of the game and important as well. If they even build one more stupid modular ship we will find out exactly how stupid and worthless they are as devs. stop changing the map. Nobody asked for that and we all know that is just an excuse to have to wipe the game. They aren’t fooling anyone with their bullshit excuse. They can even lie correctly. of course fix bugs(even they even have the skill to do so). They need to at the very least spend 1 full month not adding ANYTHING and just simple spend every waking moment fixing bugs. Nothing else other than that. They won’t do this because they are stupid and can’t realize them adding something in just to break something else is a very bad idea. turn rates up like unofficial servers do. That is a big reason why people play unofficial. Once again we aren’t really caring about the 200-250 that still play official pvp. They really aren’t important at all. In fact it is safe to say they are also responsible for the game failing as well so they are of no importance. once time has been spent fixing bugs to a very responsible amount, content will be good to add in. Content needs to be pve and story focused. Why? Because pvp and pve will both benefit from it that is why. Finally give a story behind the game. Hell even ark was a sandbox as well but evolved into a very good story. pvp is already pvp. That part is done and has been done for awhile now. No pvp additions need to be made anymore. finally, fix every single bug there is and I mean every one. At this stage it should only be fine tuning of small bugs and then do an official release of the game with an announcement stating the measures took and the bugs being fixed. even if you are correct and there is only one person, as long as he dedicates his time to bugs and makes the correct decisions I outlined like no more modular ships/map changes/raid windows, he will be able to improve the game. the key is not making bad decisions. If they change the map they screwed up. If they add more modular ships they screwed up. They get no excuses for early access anymore. They are making bad decisions and that is why they are failing. Not because it’s alpha and not because is hard, they are making stupid decisions so they will get no respect or excuses until they make the right decisions.
  23. well, they added this function to prevent building shipyards in a position where released ships will destroy themselves while releasing. You still can build shipyards every where, so it does not prevent you from placing(red/blue) but it shows you at least if a released ship will crash or not. It's not working perfectly... but like all features in Atlas. Sometimes this is buged so you may try putting resources for a new ship in and try to build the frame... good luck, you have 30 seconds to pick it up after placement... maybe 2-3 minutes would be great instead. You could test and restart if necessary. There should be nobody protecting the early access status of this game. Features should be implemented when working correctly, because they did not get fixed later on. But new Devs seem to address some bugs, but that's lots of work fixing Atlas
  24. I've been saying the same thing! But I said they should do that with the boat docks where you anchor inside them kinda like how the advanced shipyard works and have the options to release cargo into them. And maybe even make it where it has the option to transfer the cargo into your warehouse. Saves soooooo much time unloading back and forth!
  25. All you'll get on this forum sadly from some players as well as Devs is the early access excuse, They should change the games name to Atlas EA eternity. Maybe the game is being developed by the 3 wise monkeys now .
