  1. From the looks of it, EU and China is the numbers behind. Peak for today will likely happen in a few hours.
  2. Game will be microtransaction based. But revenue there requires happy players.
  3. If it is good enough for steam its good enough for us. No need for all the overly political correctness.
  4. Oh yes, this would also require people to keep getting new BP supplies instead of just getting mythical class ships in masses.

  6. That would have been good. Unfortunately it´s not happening now unless there is a complete redesign and change at Grapeshot. I try keep my hopes up, but looking at the player curve and how people ingame talk and react. The game seems dead.
  7. PvE is completely dead too. 5-8 people on tiles, people only logging in to refresh timers. 12500 peaks now, lets say 8000 average. there are 4 servers each with 225 tiles. That's 900 tiles. So if evenly distributed across servers and tiles you get 9 in average and 14 peak per tile.
  8. I had cold front, fog and rain/cyclones the same time. Sometimes cold front and heatwave the same time as well.

  10. When we see the timer it is usually off completely. 30 mins becomes either 5mins or 3 hours.
  11. Game will drop below 10000 before or in next month. There are 2 big issues in Atlas, one is the obvious massive cheating. Second is they made it ARK 2.0 despite saying it wouldn´t be ARK. And if people want to play ARK there is a lot better game out there and it is called ARK. Right now I don´t think the Devs even know what to do. They are too rooted in techniques they know, yet doesn't work in a new game. You can see they try to do all the exact ARK moves again. But this just isn't ARK or sold to be the ARK experience.
  12. in ARK you couldn´t fight cheaters either, but at least you could pick a new server. In Atlas there just isnt any alternative.

  14. You can open gunports without taking in water, but not lose the plank. game is just weird.
  15. You can uphold a massive claim base with a few minutes of game play every few days. And the bank makes sure any tames and NPCs gets what they want. Sea flags themselves should simply be removed. Give people that uses them as claims for their bases a week where they can add land flags inside a sea flag. Then just remove them all. Sea flags got a second usage, they collect you taxes from SOD kills, flotsam and soon the new sea biomes.
  16. If ARK EA is any compare, then it´s not good. And Atlas is launched in a time with no good new games. If anything it´s only going to get a lot worse. People expected a pirate game with lots of people. Not another zoo keeper game with barren claimed wastelands with 5 people on a server, lags if there are 30. The return rate of players when they first left is very low.
  17. The big MMO concept is pretty much dead already and you have 5-10 people in average on a server tile. Can easily go real days without meeting anyone anymore. Servers could easily be condensed to a 5x5 or 7x7 tile world.
  18. They can´t fix cheating because the core concept is flawed. The solution is dedicated hosts and a lot more server side handling compared to client side. Only a handful of games these days are willing to do this. The rest is an open free for all cheating wise. if you noticed the last 5 to 10 years, the solution is banning not proper fixing.
  19. The client offloading is a modern concept to host discount servers, even down to FPS games. Clients need more computational requirements as well, often multiple times more combined than the server would. I guess this is due to a mix of fast sloppy coding and cost effective solutions. A few games today still use proper server side handling, but overall MMOs are at a dead end cheating wise. From the looks of it cheating in ARK is just unofficially accepted as something there will always be and I don´t see it any different in Atlas. The same limitation to computational abilities of the server is also applied to world dynamics and client rendering abilities. Again, not going to be changed or fixed unfortunately.

  21. Yep, NPCs should have a lot more task. including running the bank that should just be a bench.
