  1. I currently have a 3X3 server running on the same subnet. I haven't tried using the same computer as I'm gaming on but I have multiple computer on my local network. I'm currently using this as a testing server to get my all my configs set up while I wait for the Linux release to actually work on modern version of Linux.
  2. I've had this happen trying to get on my raft in the past, get shot up and fall to death.
  3. For a game that is essentially in an alpha/beta period balance comes secondary to server stability.
  4. That would be a great addition, though in the mean time I just build a gangplank into my docks and pull my ship up next to it.
  5. I don' see much point for the carriage, but the cargo saddle is used to get the artifact key for the powerstone since the Hydras aren't close enough to the shore to use ships.
  6. If they added weight reduction they would have the same issue they had with elephants, so I don't see that happening.
  7. Yea, the cargo saddle is just poorly named, their only real uses are for placing cannons/swivel guns for use against land sieges or killing hydra for PvE. Any ammo placed in the bears inventory will pull when using the mounted weapons, similar to using an ammo crate on a ship.
  8. Modding requires playing on a private server....and until they fix Linux server files I'm not doing that =P
  9. You're better off taking a few bears and mining with a pick. Rhinos are great for stone and ok for flint, but that's where it ends.
  10. It would be nice, but I highly doubt it's as simple as "numbers in a spreadsheet"
  11. Yea, stop listening to members of your community(on either side), that'll make everything better. Balancing for either PvP or PvE will ruin things for the other side. Get use to it, and get over it.
  12. *Waves* Bye Bye If you whistle follow, they come back. I've had that happen with a bear a couple times.
  13. I actually like this idea, they already said they're adding reinforced planks for boats in the next big update. Having reinforced stone that takes metal seems like a good idea.
  14. (wild_level + (wild_level/2-1)) + 40, I've also heard 41 so a wild level 30 will tame at 44 and can level to 84(5)
  15. and I'm sure no one is surprised by the results.
  16. So the guy that's been bitching about being stuck on his boat for 300+ hours is happy with the change to a land structure cost...
  17. It's not expected that you will have everything you need on your grid. Part of the fun is exploring new places and traveling around to gather resources. I live in the tundra, I travel to nearby grids to get things like sap, fiber, crystal, different metals, and taming food, load up my ship and come back home.
  18. I'm genuinely enjoying the game for the most part, though I'll enjoy it more once they fix the issues with Linux servers so I can get my private server up.
  19. There was another thread where someone mentioned you need 2 game ports for each grid, and multiple services can't use the same port.
  20. I think some islands are easier to reach it than others. I got it on O14 on saturday, and it was a quick in and out.
  21. Taming is a bit finicky, having to be near the animals face to feed can result in you getting knocked around a bit(especially with rhinos and bulls) but all in all I like it better than ark. I live in the tundra so I have to use fur armor constantly to not die, and I don't really notice too much of a speed reduction, at least not enough to prevent me from rushing the water to get away from a wolf. I think bows are fine, fire arrows were more than a bit broken, but since they were the only reasonable counter to alphas having them nerfed complicates killing alpha predators. I haven't used guns at all, but I have a few company members that have stopped playing since the gun nerf. Tamed animals are decent in my opinion, they're are a reasonable counter to most wildlife, excluding alphas and a couple people on bears can make quick work of treasure maps. Alphas need to be looked into, they're way too strong to be as common as they are. I think ARK handled the alphas better, if you saw an alpha early game you were dead, but they were rare so it wasn't a big deal. The skill tree is clearly geared towards moderate sized companies and trading, I play solo so this is my biggest problem. I don't think there should be skills that allow you to use higher quality armor/weapons. I think this takes away from the trading aspect as you can't sell higher quality gear to people if they don't also have the ability to use it.
