  1. Just checked our BPs, and we only ever do treasure maps, and have purple fur pants. We only do green maps and above, if that narrows it down a bit. I'm sure as time goes by there will be something we find missing to lol.
  2. Agree to this, especially how in lawless it's possible for someone to block your 'still under construction' galleon in with picket fences, and hold you to ransom until it's paid. Right now you just have to pay up, as you do not get any resources back demolishing things (which would be my preference, to demolish, rebuild somewhere else, than to give in to these bullies and pay up to remove their posts).
  3. Agree, but, short of increasing timers on inventory drops, think the devs backed themselves into a corner. The new cargo containers is heading in the right direction, but then they cannot be accessed unless anchored. It may be a bit of a lottery, if you can scoop cargo container floatsom, and not know what's in it until anchored... PvE is entirely different again, we don't have to worry about player pirates
  4. I don't mind fog, it's eerie. What I do exceptionally hate is the fact that NPC / SoTD, are immune to it... they hit you through a wall of fog thick enough to be able to spread butter on it. IF fog had utility against SoTD, and you could use it to escape, then i'd be super happy... but it's a one way mirror, and we, human players, get the mirror side.
  5. I don't think speed sails are a meta, just a default. Ever seen kids playing at a play ground? Kids will always run between things, seems kids only have two speeds.. Static, and running. Kids don't play in a playground with 'meta' in mind... Kids just have energy and things to do......... In atlas it's the same, grid maps are huge, people have places to be. Running 5 speed sails on our galley + handling for some occasional pick me up works well. I'd never go less than 5 speed sails, i have places to be irl and in game! Plus our galley is a cargo ship, so outrunning things is the crack. Heck I have rammed SoTD at 16 kts to get past, they only had 1 volley that hit, rest missed, gone before they can turn. Wish battering rams were a thing
  6. Think I'd be a bit irritated if we send a couple of boats to fight something, and one gets destroyed, and we can't immediately recover losses with a salvage mission. If I have to sit there whilst someone else comes a long, and laughs in our faces about looting 50,000 gold we couldn't touch due to 'game mechanics' I think I'd rage quit. I play PvE, so we wouldn't be able to do anything about it if we couldn't access our own safety deposit boxes. Having said that, awesome idea for the cargo crates Huge QOL item for many!
  7. This was for use on a boat, i'd have to demolish the entire upper deck, dumb me decided to put the furniture in last, and figured: Hey that'll fit lol. nope
  8. Boats need to have their max weight upped, I think it's a realistic but needed change. What need to come with that though is quadrant balancing on boats. You put all your weight at the back and the bow will lift up, put all your weight on the right and you'll find your port side lifts up and your boat lists dangerously to one side.... it would also allow flooding physics to take effect to... smash someone on their starboard side too much, and rip a hole, they start listing and any additional weight on that side, or if the boat is too top heavy... well, it will have a domino effect... Think Herald of Free Enterprise effect from the 80s. Whilst everything is stable, you're hunkey dorey, but you blow out a plank on a boat that's too top heavy, and they're going to have a few issues. Means boat design, and weight distribution would win / lose a battle. It's what PvPing is about? Finding goliath's vulnerable spot and bringing down a giant with a pea shooter?
  9. I think we're edging towards sci-fi with all the tek stuff. ybh I'd prefer wizard of oz magic, than beam me up scotty sci fi
  10. Weight distribution is a good suggestion, as well as having specific snap points for guns. Having 35 guns on the back of schooner is as much a shocker on the eyes as it is physics!
  11. Don't the crabs also tame on rotten meat? (at least I read somewhere it does, but it's not quite as fast)
  12. This is going to go the same way as China when they had the 'one child' policy. The new meta will be Alpha babies. I can see plenty of babies being discarded now if they're not alphas, and the new 'thing' will be PvP companies with level 250 alpha tames stomping everyone. lol. Can of worms.
  13. Can I just add to allow the bookshelf to go on a single deck? I tried on the galleon and it will only go on a double height room. The graphic easily fits, but I guess its hitbox is somewhat bigger...
  14. I'm a PvE 'kid', however, I quite like the peace and quiet of open seas, quiet islands, and no morons around to ruin my game experience by being a smacktard laying buildings on my front porch. Reducing map size would just force an entire district into one neighbourhood. I don't fancy 22 families living in my house. Just querying "the only player base that can save this game. (PVPvE)" also
  15. Wait, just realised.... my GF had to tame me before being allowed to ride
  16. my bow and arrow does the sneaking for me lol That makes sense though!
  17. Pretty much what I have been doing.. two or three seem to be enough to keep things in check... but RPing somewhat do like to drag the crew in deck before logging out of the base boat lol. Thanks for the reply Vaenix-
  18. I'm split on this. I tried to ride a horse, and it was a bad nightmare, felt weird and just didn't get used to it. This 8yr old jumped on and started doing jumps and whatever else... thought to myself... after my experience that's just insanely adept. In atlas, jumping on an elephant and harvesting trees etc, an attack bear, riding a tiger /wolf... I am torn because as much as I'd like to say it's a game, that one would have to have a certain level of proficiency. I think the riding skill is fairly valid. The bonuses and perks you get with the utility of animals would be a bit OP, if you could do this by default. Same with captaining. - tried to sail a yacht, and if you dont know what you're doing, that's pretty hard to do............. I guess it's all to do with splitting skills amongst the company. If everyone could do everything then it devalues everyone. We have a small company and every role : ship builder, weapons builder, animal tamer, structure builder, chef... they're all valued roles, and gives people an identity.
  19. I +1 this to. Sometimes you can sink a whole wall into terrain with a bit poking out, and other times, a pixel is obstructed and you can't place anything. Particularly annoying on the Galleon to. There are certain snap points introduced with some of the decking, but, sometimes, I don't want to add decking just to fill a gap. Like the S+ stuff, that would be great.
  20. Is this the vehicle of choice to deter tailgating?
  21. Do you know if this works for sails to? We have a Galleon that we use to transport stuff about, so no where near the crew needed for war, we have one per sail. I guess when we stop at land, we unseat the crew to make repairs, but that's about it. Wonder if right shift puts em all back on the last sail seats they were on to....... hmm..
  22. But don't be one of those land owners that just destroys everything without communicating with the players trying to make a home on your island. Appreciate that some players want an exclusive island, but don't be one of the bad guys.
  23. I really like this. This would be a super helpful QOL improvement. (hopefully simple to implement to). Effectively a crew assignment toggle, idle > station > idle >
  24. I thought that was controlled by one of the buttons on the UI (if you push 'i')... I accidentally clicked this off to, and worked hard to find it again. There is a seperate toggle tooltips / hints tips type thing in the options that does something else, plus also there another one to toggle the ship controls... found that the helpful control text covered the sextant buff map... Hope you find it! I can do a screenshot later of what I'm going on about if still stuck and someone else doesn't get in before me.
