  1. This tallies up with our findings to. No matter how many trees are around you, you'll still pick up ~60 wood with one swing. With camera straight you'll perform a quick narrow cone attack, but tilt the camera to either side you perform a slower wide angle swipe. Elephant does appear unique in the fact that you'l only ever hit one tree / collect one swipe of wood per attack, and if that isn't enough, the elephant has atrocious stamina regen, whilst nuking stamina per attack as well. One of our elephants has >2000 stamina, and it burns that for a stack of wood.
  2. Must admit, there's a distinct absence of lions / cats on K9, come to think of it, wolves and giraffe to.... heck only seen one bear in the last week to... had to use it for fur. Naughty me
  3. I was going to find a sensible reply to this thread, but realised I'm too tanked up on class-A and only seeing kaleidoscope shapes, whilst walking like a drunken' sailor. Lucy in the Sky with diamonds..... man....

    pve eu

hardware upgrades... I can only +1 this. Well worth riding out the down time in that case
  5. Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm dreading it, but I look forward to hearing how you get on!!
  6. What I have noticed is that I had a much easier time taming a bear NOT using a trap, than with. When a bear is bola'd it attacks the pickets & walls (not you) but to feed it you have to get in it's aoe cone. Without the walls / trap cage, it never once attacked, and I just stood there with a pile of honey chain feeding it... when the escape happens, just be quick with the bola / arrow and repeat. Ours ran into some rocks, and after that the taming was surefire. Easiest tame yet, and that was without one of these prefab trap constructs.
  7. Just curious if this is still a thing. I know we all have nice healthy fit and able bodied toons right now, but I guess that'll be changing soon.. I'm dreading the time when i have to run that shoyte show, and wanted to know if it's as bad as ever, or if it's improved... Curious if I need to hit the Zubrowka hard before trying it....
  8. 1 gold a minute? OK I understand you now, that's just strange.
  9. It's part of the game we haven't reached / explored yet. Is this upkeep on maintaining your own island? Who controls the shops then? Is it not all player driven?
  10. I think the giraffe should be able to see over the fog layer That way, all prepared ships will have at least one giraffe on deck. When people say "OMG, You're havin' a Giraffe...", you could reply "hell yeah, ain't nobody pullin' the fog over my eyes!".... OK OK I confess. Too much coffee today. Forgive me!
  11. talking of that, I was fishing with my bear, in open seas... hey it's a great fishing machine! And I ran out of stamina quite deep down... got attacked by a shark, bear got killed, I got killed, the bloody menu didn't respond to me. Quit Atlas in a rage, came back after a calming drink, logged back in sitting on my bear on the beach... I lol'd so genuinely, I thought I had a GM guardian Now whenever the server goes down, and there's a 10 min roll back, i think to myself: somewhere, a GM just saved a Kitten (or bear). It's too funny. But I digress, damn rubber banding can be frustrating, especially when you're trying to get an elephant through a gate
  12. What I'll chime in to say is that even EvE's servers aren't 'magic' either. Can you imagine in Atlas; time dilation? That's what happens in EvE when more people are joining a battle than the server can handle in real time. For those that never heard of this, it's when the server cannot process every instruction by every ship on the grid. The server slows time right down so it has time to keep track of everyone, everything and every action.. In Atlas, it would translate to taking 20 minutes to reload your gun, and everyone running around like a John Woo set in bullet time. Atlas has far more going on though, I play in PvE, so these kinds of battles are irrelevant to me, and I think at the moment, from my personal vantage point, that PvE has never been better. If PvE was taken away, I think I'd go back to Ark, sulking.
  13. Yeah for us that was the key, a semi floating pet. They'd snag on something, and all of a sudden they're gone. We have to mount the pet when on deck, and they 'fall' on to it, even though they were on it. This cures all the doubt. Interesting if they have removed the wheel option to get them on the boat... that's going to cause problems!
  14. apart from gold during treasure runs...... you'll be giving away 20%
  15. It's good to know. Thanks Guybrush. My only beef with that is sometimes one has to travel a long way to scoop the more lucrative treasures. Losing 20% of that is a heavy sting. i.e. losing 600 gold from 3k is a heavy hitter when you just sailed half the map. In PvE, 600g is several weeks of crew pay. When you have a choice of two maps, next to each other.. one you lose 600g (per person in the team) and the other you keep the 600... We should be going to the claimed one, to support the islanders.. but, reality doesn't always work that way.. I'm sure GS can bring it inline with the resource philosophy... that way people will not have this reservation.
  16. tbh the sextant mini game is annoying as hell. Is that even needed? Some talents are ambiguous for sure. Does the one that grants damage bonus to soldiers of the damned apply to tames for example?
  17. Just curious, I'm aware the 'tax' doesn't touch harvested resources, but does it affect treasure hunting? I'm hoping when we go-a-huntin' that we keep 100% of the treasure, and 20% magically appears as commission to the land owners. Losing 20% on booty is a tough hurdle to climb. However if we do get 100% we'll probably make more effort to visit claimed islands as a sort of appreciation for keeping chest zones free of enclosures.

    land ?

Fortunate, as like DannyUK. Lovely setting for a base, it was my spawn point when I first logged in at lawless...... main base in a ravine that we walled / gated up either side, so far friendly neighbours (although one does appear to be a bit spammy with foundations and annoys other neighbours)... but for all intents and purposes, it's perfect. My friend, partner in crime had an 'OMG' moment when he first saw it, and one of my girly friends, she came on after moaning about no land and foundation spam, saw what we had and immediately offered 'success sex'... which for her was a stupid way of saying LOVE ATLAS again. (ps she wasn't serious about the sex part, although she did run around naked a lot in game... hoo har). Lucky to have got in.
  19. Just want to say thank you to the GS in game support team as well... Like many people I had an issue, and within a few hours everything was resolved.. No need to go into details, but sufficed to say that someone came to help and they were awesome. Small gestures like that restores the faith in humanity! As you were, as you were.
  20. Pretty much says it all. He should be able to get through the gap.
  21. Anyone know how to get hold of a GM or anything? Bear is stuck in terrain, and there's absolutely no way to unstick this. This has certainly crushed an evening of gameplay. Ticket raised, no response unfortunately. Anyone have any advice?
  22. I have a galleon called the Mary Rosemary. So far we haven't been able to turn it hard enough to capsize... yet. Trying handling sails later !
  23. Wait what? Potatos are better than wheat? Really? That's an epiphany for me if that's so!
