  1. Well, you can't blame folks for being upset about a complete wipe, Although this is EA complete wipes are not exactly mentioned from the beginning. But as was argued in week one, EA does Infer that there is an actual playable game. They missed the mark on that one as well for a good many people for at least a week. If more bugs were resolved, maybe some early to mid game content to give us something new while we started from scratch again, Instead of gated end game content, and the pve claim fix didn't have the potential to be more problematic then the original build, just maybe the wipe would be easier to understand. I understand the game was taking a nose dive prior to the wipe announcement, but that isn't necessarily the claim system fault entirely. Some can be attributed to the loss of faith in the developers. The less then stellar launch has been documented, inability to meet deadlines has become a joke, lack of communication has been brought up repeatedly on the forums. And apparent lack of thought behind changes in game mechanics in various patches has been the subject of many post throughout the forums. Which leads us back to where we are. I personally am not convinced this claim fix is the way to go for pve. And the devs have really not done much to bother selling it to me either. Which leads me to believe that they either don't care what I the paying customer thinks, or they don't have a lot of confidence in it themselves. So we will have the big update, and the wipe. A lott of the existing bugs will still be there. With some luck the test server will filter out additional game breaking bugs, which in turn will cause more delays, after they've already announced the wipe. Which was another poor decisions on thier part. At least wait till you've got a semi polished patch on the test server before you deflate half the remaining player base.. In a world full of game titles much more polished then this, this company should do a better job of getting, and keeping thier ducks in a row, or they deserve all the negative reviews and forum haters they currently have. And in my opinion those of you who disagree do so based on the vision of a game that might be. I hope you are right, I would like to play that game one day to. Hopefully it come before interstellar travel. Heard they have some good theories on that too
  2. Despite how much you PVP fanboys want to shove PVP down our throats. This game is advertised as a PVE experience as well. You don't have to like it, or play it, but it's sheer ignorance for you to bash those of us that play an officially supported mode of play when even the devs have talked about making the pve side a more emersive experience. The more both sides of this game improve the more players it attracts, the more both sides could improve. All that being said, why does it bother you so much that someone may list some ideas for further content that you feel the need to attempt to hijack and trash the thread with your toxic attitude towards pve players views? Got troll your buddies on the PVP forums.
  3. I've had this unreasonable attachment to tames I ARK before. Miss T, lvl 80 Rex that my daughter and I spent hours taming and protecting through the same process. She wasn't the perfect time but she was our first big tame. Fortunately in Atlas I've not developed any attachments to my times, because do to bugs, Alpha lions that appear out of nowhere and cobras attacking through pens, you quickly realize what you tame today, you will most likely be replacing tomorrow. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that any of these issues will be addressed before the big patch and server wipe. Which adds to the aggravation of having to start from scratch once again. Fine we are paying to test, I'm ok with that. Fix the shit we have found, then wipe the server and start collecting fresh new data. Instead they have rushed a half ass plan to fix the claim system in an attempt to staunch the bleeding. So we the players are forced to start from scratch once again, grind through the same buggy shit we've been grinding through all for the sake of collecting test data. Data for what, your new claim systems, many in the forums have already provided the insight you need to know how this is gonna play out.
  4. As an older guy myself I'd like to point out something. We have more options now then we had in the late 90s when I started online gaming. Standing in the same room killing Olthoi for days at a time is no longer necessary as part of a game experience. So no, a lot of people don't want to spend hours grinding anymore. That being said it's not the loss of possessions land tames or buildings that broke me. It's loss of progression to replace a broke system with a half baked solution.
  5. Never claimed it wasn't the wipe. Hell I'm upset about the wipe as well. But once you get passed the screw the wipe I'm pissed I'm gone posts and get into some of the meat of the issue, is the community that disagrees with the wipe by in large don't feel they are getting anything in the patch that makes the wipe worthwhile. But it's hard to say for sure the exact percentages because alot of folks are just too far past the point of giving a shit enough to talk about thier feelings
  6. But the basic code of Atlas is the basic code of Ark
  7. It's not. Someone forgot to send the devs that memo. Same base code, same engine, same mechanics. Don't fool yourself, this is Ark, just re skinned, re packed and sold as a bold new idea by the same devs who can't seem to find away to think to far outside the Ark box. Hell they even make the same mistakes they made in ark
  8. Loudly complaining, spent 1 week sailing on raft looking for claim, settle on lawless south desert, found a big empty island in lawless tundra relocated there and never gave another damn about claims
  9. Don't know if you checked the numbers recently, but this is basically small scale now and getting smaller.
  10. Have faith, this is Atshit you're talking about. It will be delayed. Although the server wipe being being the one deadline they finally hit would not surprise me at this point
  11. In case you only read the headlines and not the actual articles, the quick summary would be: the wipe is not the reason for most folks rage. It's the crap idea of the reworked claim system, lack of bug fixes, and late delivery of promised end game content until after a server wipe that makes it hard for some folks to swallow the idea of flushing thier hours invested in game this far.
  12. Again, this is no way agreeing with his every point of view or a claim to his knowledge of the game. But you can't let the part where he said I'm waiting for console release go unnoticed. Maybe he isn't like me and have a gaming PC and a console. So based on that I would give him credit for trying to be a part of shaping a game he would someday like to play when it becomes available to him. It really only makes him half troll
  13. Hey, in all fairness who is the wiser person. You and I who have already paid for the game and will be frustrated or bored before it reaches it's true potential, or the guy who offers his input to help shape a game he would like to play when it's more polished. On the forums his voice is heard the same as ours, and he didn't have to pay a dime to do it
  14. Lol fair enough. I do wish you good luck on your future purchase.
  15. Well there are people with way more hours. How many hours you got in game Real? Just curious how many hours of in game experience you have to base you vast knowledge of the game off of that you use to troll almost every thread in the forums.. I'm not complaining mind you, I find some of your stuff quite amusing, it's simply a curiosity
  16. 541 don't seem like that much. I've a little more then that although a lot of those we're spent looking at log in screen the first week. How many hours you got now Real, you should have close to that just being a troll on the forums Shut up Meg!
  17. Yeah after I posted that I remembered that I think I payed for beta access of SWTOR online years ago. But in that instance I don't remember a wipe, and that game went through a ton of major revamps
  18. My question to you would then be how many of those alpha, betas did you pay to be a part of. In no way claiming there has ever been any, but having done a handful myself since I've been playing online (1998 or so) I don't remember ever paying for them. And I don't mind the wipe, I think there could be a way to wipe all but character progression and maybe even a way to prevent reforming of companies, that being said, I think the devs should bare more burden of bug fixes, more thought out pve claim system, and early mid lvl game content prior to initial wipe. Having to start from scratch dealing with the same game breaking bugs and the distinct possibility of new ones at this point with no more then they are offering in terms of claim fixes for the patch leaves a bad taste in the mouth. And just because paying to alpha testing is becoming the norm, doesn't mean we can't attempt to hold the industry to a higher standard. Just because we are junkies don't mean we have to accept any old shit they willing to let us stick in our veins
  19. I don't mind sub being locked behind end game boss, or the time it will take to get the powerstones. And for part time players ie, people with jobs and families, that' can take a fair bit of time just in sailing. My problem, and many others is it has become more time consuming because they chose to deliver that content as part of a server wipe. What seems odd to me was the focus of end game content, in a game that really is lacking any content other then end game. Didn't they mention missions/quests as part of that original patch back in early February? So, they decide to do a server wipe and give us more end game when this would have been a perfect opportunity to introduce early or mid game content. Once again it gives the appearance of a PVP focus game and PVE advertisement is merely a marketing ploy to keep the PVP machine rolling. Take for instance the almost footnote mention of PVE claim changes and how much thought went into that
  20. No matter if you agree with those of us willing to turn our backs on the game or not is as irrelevant as you think us quitting is. Think about it. Our leaving, and telling 5 of our friends the game is shit, the devs are clueless, forget that game let's go play The Division instead, does actually effect the game. It has in the past, hence the claim changes. If it was a tiny portion of the player base I would agree. But this is about a 50/50 split, and should alarm the devs.
  21. Now maybe there are more options, but I see three off the top of my head all with drawbacks. 1. Keep claim system in PVE, but limit claims per person/company. 2. Go with the lawless system but limit structure count per person/company 3. A lawless system like you are planning, but with limits per island where structures can be placed. Effectively creating claim sites to prevent structure spam griefing, and resource griefing. Personally I'd be ok with any of the 3. But you would have to give us more at sea content. Which should have been done anyway prior to release and would have avoided a ton of hate mail. You have, and continue to have way to much of the focus on land for a sea fairing pirate game. Part of the problem that comes from a game being created from a mod that was made by same developers..
  22. And your right proper speaking with facts to express your opinion is a fair bit of communication, but listening is as well. And putting you hands over eyes chanting toxic toxic toxic, is just as toxic for the game and community. So don't claim to be on some moral high ground here when you very response is the very example of what you consider to be toxic
  23. Nah, you just see another chance to just be you. The overall point to my post was that, in my mind, a small company with EA title actually had a chance for me to back burner a major title drop that I have been looking forward to much longer then I have this title. But do to poor decisions, bad game design, and complete lack of customer support, not to mention failure to meet deadlines, I personally no longer see them as a contender.
  24. I'd almost be offended. Based on the fact that half my posts have been an attempted to have discussions about how things could be changed. Right or wrong but willing to offer something. Having seen alot of your posts, they are just mostly bot like attacks on other people's opinions. So coming from you, I won't get to bent by that comment
