  1. The problem on PVE wasn't "animals attack my walls," it was "animals glitch through or spawn directly inside my walls." None can damage stone anyway, so there's still zero need for upgraded recipes.
  2. Agreed, I'm never making Legendary Stone Walls/Staircases/whatever when I'm not worried about anything destroying them.
  3. SotD loot is so trash it's not even worth the cannonball mats to kill them. Floating chests are just as bad. Only shipwrecks and treasure maps are worth a shit.
  4. Ship of the Damned variety and changes were a good step in making them more interesting as NPC enemies, but they still have two major issues: There is no incentive whatsoever to kill them unless you need crew members. The rewards are awful even for red schooners/brigs -- a red brig I just killed got me 15 gold and 1-3 of various ammo, basically no more than the green schooners -- and the investment of materials/time that goes into making cannonballs + repairing any damage taken doesn't currently make it worthwhile to actively seek out and kill SotD once your crew is full. Since the change that introduced multiple types, there are no instances where they exist solo. They're constantly grouped in clumps of 3-7 of various types and levels, which makes them more difficult to sail around/through than they should be -- it'd be one thing if killing them was worthwhile, but as noted above, it isn't -- you're basically just adding a frustrating QoL issue to the game by not forcing their pathing to keep separate from each other, since the resource investment needed to actually kill the entire pack is never worth the ammo. Everyone just treats them as annoying roadblocks and circles around, making the problem worse as this leads to situations where their spawns start to overrun less populated blocks.
  5. There's a whole talent tree for shields. Look into it.
  6. Just used it yesterday, def still works. You might have a sandbar behind you.
  7. That's not accurate. Try it on land.
  8. Because the original numbers for this system were designed with an "ideal" player base in mind. Those numbers don't match the reality of the actual number of current players.
  9. just find more people, 4Head None of the other people I play games with are dumb enough to spend $30 on this tbh
  10. Because who the fuck plays games to be taxed by some dork in a bigger group than yours or wants to deal with some clowndick moron smashing up things you build right after buying an island because he "doesn't want it there?" It's a moronic system for PVE. We had a basic 2x2 thatch setup with a few ground plots for tannery/smithy/loom while we were building a schooner, got the schooner built and then the people who bought the island maybe 20 minutes prior got mad because we didn't want to talk to them in voice-chat. After spending another 10 minutes trying to get our attention by getting on our boat and dying, saying stupid shit like lines from Deliverance in chat about my "pretty mouth" and joking about rape in global chat, they broke all the structures and took the mats and gold that were there. Now, I didn't really care because it was only thatch shit and a few hours of farming, the only even remotely noticeable "loss" was ~300 gold, but the fact the situation exists as an intentional system at all on a PVE server is fucking braindead design. We had plenty of gold to actually buy the island way before they got there, just not eleven members for a 53 point island, hence just making the temp setup. The current system sucks.
  11. A ton of people will be leaving -- I personally haven't played in over a month, myself and just came back today to read the updates -- plus the Claim Flag system will be gone + there will be new islands, so there will be plenty of land to go around on PVE for those still interested in the game. Personally, I'd rather just play ARK.
  12. So, wait -- You can tell him he has "an ass for a face," but he can't refer to you with a shit emoji? Lmao.
  13. Don't backpedal now, bud. Your exact quote was: "Not sure where you are at but we have been all over and have not seen didly, exaggerate much?" "Not sure where you are at" -- again, just because you personally haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist and isn't a problem. "but we have been all over" -- clearly not. "and have not seen didly" -- is this picture more than "diddly?" Just wondering. "exaggerate much?" -- there's no exaggeration, it's exactly what OP is saying, particularly in point 2 of his first post. Hope this helps.
  14. That's already an option. Hold E on one of their tribe members and you can declare war on them.
  15. There are a lot of issues in this game, but that video isn't a good demonstration of them. • It's mostly Day 1/Day 2 shit • A lot of the "glitches" were what we all recognize as the server being DC'd and the client still being logged in (floating animals, etc.) • Many of the complaints in the video were already addressed (lawless spawns, Alphas in starter areas, server performance) • Several of the "bugs and glitches" were player error (xQc ramming rafts on-land, Shroud not paying attention to food/water and dying of dehydration without realizing why, etc.) This video is dumb. I'll be the first to criticize aspects of this game and point out that not even half of the issues can reasonably be swept away as "lol early access!" at this point, but these aren't the real issues whatsoever.
  16. "I haven't seen it myself" isn't the same as "everyone else is wrong" and it'd be good for you to learn the difference. This doesn't show the four behind us on the other side.
  17. This is a really dumb argument. There's a communication system built into the game that broadcasts to every player currently online. Expecting all of your entire player base to check your outside communications is unreasonable and at this point you're just making bad excuses for why they couldn't just throw in a note on the actual game too saying "btw rollback X hours," there's no mutual exclusivity here, they can still "update their forums and twitter and discord," too.
  18. Do you realize how many people play games that have no idea video game companies even have social media accounts, let alone religiously check them for updates? There's a built-in communication system for upcoming restarts and updates in game that can and should be utilized here, stop making excuses for it dude, you sound ridic.
  19. Not everyone "checks the game's Twitter" and expecting everyone to is silly. OP is right, there's no reason it couldn't have been noted in the server message.
  20. Buddy, my neighbors all love me. I'm pleasant to people that aren't being assumptive and making uninformed commentary. I'm not pleasant to a) the exploiters trying to overlap land claims using a bug in the claim system on our island, hence stopping them from claiming my neighbor's land in the first place or b) know-it-all shitposters on official forums. You're somewhere in b-ish.
  21. I do know what their intent is when they flat out say it in voice and text chat. Any more stupid commentary on a situation you aren't a part of, or
  22. Your asks are wayyy too high, Mythos isn't worth that much with how easy it is to ballista farm Cyclops.
  23. Sorry, you can't read, but use commas a lot? We stopped their claim attempt once because we knew the people they were trying to steal from and they were just away, not gone from the game. This was prior to some of the PVE changes made regarding claim times, upkeep, etc. Not the same as repeatedly returning to reset a claim to 4 hours on long-abandoned land with no intent of doing anything other than griefing. I know context is hard, but try to keep up.
  24. Not only are there issues with timeframes/windows/upkeep balance, but the current "4 hours to declaim and anyone running by can stop and reset you to the full 4 hours" is just an avenue for additional PVE griefing. We started claiming a plot last night, the same two people have been coming through and laying prone JUST to reset the flag to 4 hours repeatedly and then returning every 3 hours because they're upset we didn't let them steal a neighbor's plot over a week ago, and because we called them out for intentionally and repeatedly using a claim overlap exploit. Really need a balance/common sense pass on that entire system. It doesn't make any sense that someone can come reset your flag to square one just by lying there for a bit, especially when they clearly have no intention of actually trying to outlast you to take it. We're currently on hour 30 of trying to obtain this claim because of their behavior. It's pathetic.
