  1. If only we could open our doors to actually set off on the quest...
  2. Well, if we could actually open our front doors...
  3. Well, if Unofficial servers can do away with this bloody stupid ageing system I will never EVER darken the doors of Officials again. A more inept bunch of Devs I have never seen in my 20 years of online gaming.
  4. This is the only game where I dread "updates".
  5. Well, I WOULD have tried it, if the Devs, in their infinite wisdom and genius, hadn't made it impossible to get out of a door. Jeezuz, the infinite number of monkeys who write the code on an infinite number of keyboards really screwed the pooch... AGAIN.
  6. Well, I don't have huge gates to worry about, but I'll just remove a wall and replace it if I need to exit my walled compound. Hilarious, isn't it.
  7. Never a truer word spoken. EVERY patch breaks more than it attempts - and I stress "attempts" - to fix! Whatever fix they implement makes the original problem somehow worse, and breaks another two or more things in the game. They are really taking Ineptitude to a whole new level.
  8. That's all I see, too. No option for opening inventory is displayed. I'll try it again, but won't hold my breath.
  9. I've decided to respec and dump all the points I had in Taming, bar enough to tame chickens for poop, but even then I'm not sure Farming is worth the bother either. If I'm not Taming I don't need to grow special foods, and to feed myself I can pick up vast amounts of fruits and vegetables just by spending 30 seconds Gathering them by hand or with a Sickle. From the many posts I have read, Armour doesn't seem to stop animals two-shotting you and Melee Weapons don't compare to even just a Bow as getting into Melee range seems like a death sentence. Firearms are fun but sometimes 4 Pistols doesn't get the job done and really the Bow is faster and even nerfed Fire Arrows are better than Pistols. I have no idea what to spend the extra points on, so if anyone can recommend something...
  10. Well, seeing how Tames get one or two-shotted by wild animals I'm not sure I personally would buy one, but what the heck, if they are brining in player shops, it seems a reasonable idea.
  11. No game EVER maintains launch numbers. People who use the argument that "numbers have dropped since launch" are idiots.
  12. Time to abandon Taming forever and use the points for something USEFUL... if we can FIND something useful.
  13. Time to respec and abandon Taming, sadly. I was up to Tier 3 but was hanging on until they improved the durability and utility of the tames... Well, THAT ain't going to happen. What an utter and complete waste of a skill tree!
  14. The game would be great if the randomly whimsical Devs didn't try to fix or improve things. EVERYTHING they have "adjusted" breaks at least one extra thing and the adjustment never helps in the first place.
  15. From Steam forum in reply to someone who looks like they had the same problem... Originally posted by Vilue: hi there had the same problem all you need to do is join a new atlas and pick a freeport. You will still spawn where ever you logged out at but you wont be able to do anything open door access inventory and so on. ( I had have a tribe mate let me out of the base to get get killed or just have a tribe mate kill you.) after you have to re spawn at a freeport and then die once again. after the second death you will be able to respawn in your beds and be fine able to interact with stuff
  16. That's what Unofficial servers are for, and why so many people use them. Land to build on, Admins who don't take crap from griefers, a lot are 16 servers with plenty of Islands and Biomes. Official servers are not fit for purpose at the moment. Overcrowded, toxic, full of bugs and exploits and with no Admins who do anything about it,
  17. Absolutely and without question. I wish they'd gone for that system.
  18. Pretend your pretend arrows are just pretend drugging the pretend animals instead of pretend killing them. Job done.
  19. I thought I'd test this. I replaced my old beds, then deliberately jumped on someone's Raft (making sure I had nothing on me) and as expected I started floating, so THAT is still broken. I killed myself quickly using Yell and punch attacks and NONE of the beds showed up, so I ended up back in Freeport. No biggie, I'll just get a Sloop, load up with resources and sail back. Anyway, Beds are still broken if what happened to me holds true for everyone else.
  20. Thanks for the heads-up. Time to replace my Beds I think!
  21. Yet your original post says "I who also live in the area cannot do anything about the taxes. Their flags are pve protected and they can just sit in their base and take 30% of what I and everyone else gather in the area" so yes, you gave the impression you were on someone else's land. You need to sharpen up your posting technique.
  22. Well, for a start he's putting up with you, and people like you, which IS a consequence! Far more of a consequence than I'd bother putting up with. Don't forget YOU settled on HIS turf, which nobody made you do and you did so KNOWING in advance there would be taxes, and you expect him to let you freeload for nothing? If there were no taxes making it worth his while, why would he take a risk allowing people to settle there in the first place? Anyone could just arrive and pillar-spam the shit out of the place and just walk off laughing. Even if he changes the permissions to Company only, to get rid of a griefer, he has a timer before he can demolish someone's structures, and I saw someone today complaining that even though the timer had elapsed he was not getting the option to demolish the offender's structures. The other reason is that, like it or not, as far as the game mechanics are concerned you are a guest on someone else's territory and you pay for the privilege accordingly. Nobody is going to let you do it for free. Live with it or grow a pair and move on. You were happy enough to settle on a Tax for Land basis in the first place, so quit your whining.
  23. He had no shipyard. Sadly, I'm not about to mess with swapping Companies because I'd lose my stuff in the process.
