The XP system at the moment is just realy unbalanced. Once you have a few levels there are only 2 ways of gaining significant XP, maps and alphas, and they give tonnes often 2-3 levels. After a few more levels the XP from alphas becomes negligable and your only option is maps. Only having (after a while) one way of gaining XP is disingenuous at best.

The spawns are just random. I've seen almost barren islands, and ones teeming with life. Visited a tiny island yesturday that had about 30 elephants & rhinos in one spot. (the lvl 30 & 27 amongst them are now mine:) )

You can do both, having a boat to sail the world and have a base. Being able to teleport between beds means for example you can grind, tame, quest with your mates at the base, then when you are on on your own you can teleport to your DP exploration ship and explore an island or two.

Not just the 1st wipe hat, What about a second wipe cosmetic. A figurehead would be nice.

In the future if you find you are going to be delayed, even if you think it's only going to be a short delay, give yourselves 24h and release at the same time the next day. Sure you will get grief, but nothing like the utter joke your discord was last night. Plus once announced everyone will know the score, check back the next day and get on with thier lives. And you will have plenty of time to get your ducks in a row for a better attempt the next day. I'm not suggesting this because I missed out, I'm one of those unusual people that can miss a night or two of sleep with little discomfort. Got a small base with perimiter fence on the island I wanted before I had to leave for work.

Both myself and Khan experienced this on ramshackle sloops, for me it was long before i learnt how to make a grappling hook or even a ladder for that matter. Whould be good to know if the OP's issue was on a ramshackle sloop. Also for me it was before I had even moved the boat after buying it.

I've had that ladder bug, but just once on a ramshackle sloop after this latest wipe. It certainly is not common as I've been playing since day 1. I did manage to punch until I died, however, so you can get out of it.

Someone has already said on time, so i guess i'm out. Reason: As a PC player we are already getting all the updates as they drop, I can play NA PVP or single player, so all they need to do is switch on the servers with the same version when the time comes. A delay could be had if they do an update at the same time, but that can be avoided by doing any update a few hours prior to that to have time to be fully ready for midday server switch on. Hoping to be off the freeport islands before the Xbox people finish downloading, I remember the lag of day one.

We have execution item's but not the classic pirate "plank" Have it so stepping on the plank increases agro range for sharks and a damage buff from damage from sharks. Secondary use: assign NPC to plank equipped with a grappling hook, and give it a 5% per knot under 20 knots chance of hooking flotsam in range.

Corner pillars 1. Place a foundation. 2. Looking at one side of the foundation, place a fence foundation snaped to one corner coming towards you. 3. You can now snap a pillar at the other corner facing you. 4. remove fence foundation. you can use the snap points of this pillar to place multiples. (This is not however snaped to the foundation and will not support any stuctures it is on the corner of.) the dock in the image is supported by other pillars, the building uses the corner pillars for a rustic look.

Yup, PVE poor, PVP rich. You are forced into PVP areas to get to the High level PVE oppontants patrolling the high level materials. Having to contend with the often toxic PVP players just to get to higher level PVE content is why I stoped playing.
