  1. https://antihax.github.io/ says its located in only one grid, K11 - I get there, the person whom owns the island, his flag pole has the iron wood, So I know its gotta be here. Somewhere, After carefully searching the entire island its no where to found, However the owner of the island, left a wonderful message, "No settlers" all structures will be destroyed. The entire island is filled with "perfectly spaced foundations x3 and chest" perfectly spaced as in, Forget trying to place anything. However I think this person has unknowingly blocked resources from respawning. Has anyone seen any Ironwood anywhere else? I've got a mythic ship yard I need to build.
  2. At the launch of the game trailers taught many things that made Atlas look like a unique game. From the content they presented to the high graphics of the game, in the trailer they took another level. but when we entered the game it was something else. please if you hear developers make this game look better or similar than launch trailers.
  3. I went through this problem several times over the years but was always related to the screen mode I couldn't use full screen. However this time it just happened out of nowhere and had me thinking about the post above. So I did a google search for corrupted windows files and found a fix I have seen before. So I used this Microsoft link...https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e Then after running those two file checks it did say there was corrupted files and then reboot computer and everything was ok again and the game sound was back.I think we recently had a windows update but really leaves us with concerns as to why we would get corrupted files after an update.
  4. I logged back into my Game and it is saying _ I'm overweight and will not reset. I've never seen this bug before in my 390 hours of playing.
  5. Has anyone had people join their company just so they have enough company points to get an island? if so, what happens if that person leaves the company? Do you lose the island? not willing to risk getting insided(pvp mentality) so they would need to leVe after the fact. So, let me know if you have an idea.
  6. I started playing the game first day, through the bugs, the wipes, etc. All had its issues. Well, I stopped playing due to the wipes about a year and a half ago and went to Conan (great game btw). Well, I came back this weekend to look around and possibly move me and my conan friends over to Atlas for something new. Well, I gotta say the game is so so much more buggy and broken than I have ever seen it. Even worse than day 1 release. First, WTF is up with this portal crap? Why not allow sailing from end to end like before? Stupid IMO. Second, game is so incredibly buggy. I buy a pair of NPC's, get em on my freighter (new ships suck too) and Poof, they disappear of the sails sailing between grids. Buy a SECOND set of NPCs, hit landfall, go to explore. When I return, Poof, my NPCs are gone. According to the log nothing happened, but they are gone. Grapeshot, what did you do to this game? Absolute crying shame what you have done. I just told everyone else not to buy the game because of it. You absolutely ruined this game.
  7. US PVE Hydra's Den server. As the title states, the drake at H6 power stone is either stuck in terrain or underwater somewhere. Almost every inch of this island has been scoured in the past week or two and it is nowhere to be seen. Can someone take 2 seconds to confirm that it is actually killable and can be seen to engage.
  8. Hello What's the highest character level you have seen? Wondering what's max level for now. I have seen 69 on a official server.
  9. The Flag System killed the game. The Server Population Is The Lowest I've Ever Seen and being a Sunday at peak hour, that's not good. edit: To be more accurate, the Flag System killed the server-cluster as I now believe many players have left the official servers and gone to unofficial ones.
  10. So my claim is fairly far from a far from a freeport. I want to buy more crew. Has anyone seen a trade ship? How do we go about finding one?
  11. Cant die, harvest or be seen by my friends? someone help please! get spawned in the same location no matter where i loggout with 5hp and just wont die ... anyone know how to fix this or of any kill command?
  12. We're finishing up our Brig and outfitting it with large cannons and i was taking a break in the watch tower with my spyglass. anyone seen this effect before and ventured near it? any clue what it might be? Edit: tried looking at it through the sextant as well now and it doesn't show up so its specific to the spyglass
  13. You need to fix your server stability, I have been unable to connect to NA PVP for the last 2 hours and when i do get in i get booted by battleye in less than a minutewith this message: Kicked by Battleye "client not Responding". We are under attack currently and most of the defenders are experiencing this same issue. i cannot even get on to defend my land claims. when i am able to connect it shows less than 60 people in server but i am still booted moments after connecting. This is literally game breaking because i cant even connect to defend. By watching various streams none of the attacking forces seem to be experiencing this issue. if this is an exploit of some sort you need to fix this immediately.
  14. I know there's a node on g7, but hitting it with pick or axe results in sap not honey. Some have said wrong tool, but I don't believe there's a "right" tool.... so I'm curious. Has anyone actually obtained honey?
  15. I haven't lost my cool over a computer game in decades. Tonight however, I literally broke 4 keys off my keyboard. The balance of this game, wilds vs tame, the number of wild spawns, the agro radii are verging on the ridiculous. Combine that with bugs inherited from Ark that still haven't been fixed 3-4 years later, I seriously wonder about the ability of the development team. I sit browsing reddit for four fucking hours getting to an island to get cloth woven from the hairs shorn with silver scissors from the legs of Venezuelan virgins because that's the only fucking thing that cows will eat, only to find a tiger and giant snake every 100m of the km I need to run. They of course kill me with three chomps and I can't defend myself because they're teleporting around because the entire cluster is running on a Raspberry Pi or something. I'm lucky that this time no one stole the stuff from my corpse on this PVE server, but I died another four times because there's a tiger and a giant snake every fucking 100m and a few giant spiders thrown in for good measure because be fucked if players are allowed to try and run away. amirite? Eventually I get my exquisite cow fodder and sit browsing reddit for another four fucking hours to get home only to find that all my tames, which were in a pen, saddled and on Neutral were eaten by a level 16 wolf which either spawned inside the pen like the trees and rocks respawning through my foundations because fuck using perfectly working spawn-suppression code from Ark, amirite? or simply glitched through the walls of the enclosure. So I go out to replace the tames. I tame a level 15 wolf and get a bunch of levels on her. Then I find an 18 bear. Great! You have created a taming system that requires us to be near the head of the animal. That's fair enough. Don't you think that you should've also fixed, before public beta, the collision boxes such that animal heads can't bury themselves in terrain that stops you accessing the head? It didn't matter in Ark because you could access the inventory from anywhere. Instead now I have to try to dance on the body of the tame, which bounces me all over the place, while the animal, a mere level 18, thrashed to a nearly-dead bloody pulp, bites with full force and kills me with just three chomps despite wearing plate armour. Of course when I die the bola magically disappears almost a minute before it's ridiculous 90 second lifespan was due to end and kills my level 25 wolf about 2 seconds after I respawn at my bed. I've asked this question before. Please answer me. Why the fuck should I continue? I don't actually enjoy bashing my scrotum with a hammer for hours on end and that's what this game is feeling like right now. You shouldn't have released this with so many major bugs a few days before 3/4 of the world, presumably including all your developers, want to go on holidays for two weeks. Seriously. I'm wondering if this is some kind of massive troll.
  16. So far me and my friends have 20+ hours of gameplay and I'm yet to see any of the real cool looking content that was shown in the trailer. Mass interaction with NPCs, cool bosses, actually good combat, not just boats but in multiple elements, even stuff like dragons
  17. has anyone ever seen wheatgrass on this PVE server , i want wheat seeds for wheat to tame an Elephant.
  18. =INTRODUCTION= I've recently decided to come back and take a look at ATLAS after a very lengthy hiatus from the game. Not being into the "MMO" scene, I elected to go back to Single Player and see what changes have been made - on both the "Ocean" map and the Blackwood map - which was initially designed for smaller servers/Single Player. What is disappointing to see is that Single Player - a game mode that has been included from the start - appears to have been neglected in favour of "doubling down" on the multiplayer aspect which appears to be going catastrophically wrong, given the rather passionate responses I've been reading through today. Single Player is useful to people for many reasons. 1 - It allows people to play ATLAS either alone or, though a non-dedicated server (or even a small dedicated server), with a small group of friends and experience the storyline of ATLAS. 2 - It allows people to get a feel for ATLAS without the rampant toxicity multiplayer servers typically devolve into. 3 - It allows people to experiment with and/or design ships and bases that they may decide to employ on a multiplayer server. For those reasons alone, while it may not be "the focus" of Grapeshot Studios (which to me is seems like Wildcard but by a different name), Single Player should be maintained in the same manner as Multiplayer. The following is my opinion, some suggestion and recommendations which - while I am only one person with one opinion - may spark some more creative flare from a developer or a group that can take this further than I possibly could. =CONTENT= For the most part, given my several hours of reacquainting myself with the systems and mechanics, the "new" map that came with the Trade Winds update so far appears to be a significant improvement over the previous iteration. However there are still areas that require addressing. 1 - Ships of the Damned. This was one of the major reasons I stopped playing (from a Single Player perspective) ATLAS the first time around. SotD seem to ignore any damage resistance/modifier changes. They also still spawn in the *STARTER* zone. While a fully crewed sloop in multiplayer can probably outrun them (assuming good wind - which, granted I did not have in SP at the time of my encounter), my partially crewed Single Player sloop was sunk in 4 volleys by a Level 28 Brigantine. After searching high and low for a command line or mod to assist with SotD, I ended up disappointed. I understand that SotD and AotD are embedded into the storyline and the end-game resources so they cannot be removed entirely - however their number and power should be able to be managed by command line/in-game slider. There should be a map guide (or even a revision of the mechanics surrounding SotD) explaining the likelihood of SotD encounters and their relative power in the zones/regions - similar to what occurs for Wild Pirates - so players can make informed decisions. My recommendation for handling Ships of the Damned for Single Player and small Multiplayer servers is to either implement a slider (or command lines) that reduces the level, damage and group size of SotDs that spawn in and disable their spawning in the STARTER zone (at least), if not the zones immediately surrounding the STARTER zone, ENTIRELY. This gives the player(s) a bit of breathing room to get themselves established - so that when the player reaches the open ocean in either an AI-crewed (or player-crewed) Brig or Schooner (or something larger, provided they can acquire the resources from the starter zone/immediate zones) they at least have a chance to defend themselves if they're unable to avoid the ship. I would also recommend, especially for Single Player - but could also work very well in both an Official and Unofficial setting, that SotD only spawn in the regions containing, and immediately surrounding, the Stones of Power locales. 2 - Wild Pirates. This is not a negative, this is actually a commendation. I actually very much applaud of the addition of these AI pirates from not only a Single Player perspective but also from a PvE and PvP perspective. It gives PvE something to fight against on the sea (aside from SotD) and gives the PvPers something to practice against. From a Single Player perspective it implies that the player is trying to establish their own pirate empire. The map also advises the player on just how powerful the Wild Pirates are in the zones/regions before you enter them - so the player can make an informed decision about entering the zone. 3 - Stupidly high temperatures An island with an ambient temperature of 63 degrees. That's hotter than Dubai on a hot day. In fact, that's 7 degrees hotter than the highest recorded temperature. And these temperatures kill players trying to level. Not even swimming in the ocean works at these temperatures. Either a global temperature adjustment, or a command line/slider to manage how high (and also low) temperatures get. 4 - Blackwood This map was intended to be the ideal answer for small multiplayer servers and Single Player. After exploring the map and reading comments regarding Blackwood on Steam (I've not read the comments here) it is apparent that the upkeep of the map has been abandoned. Certain trees are missing textures, it's missing certain resources and certain spawns are tricky to find. At the very least, I would encourage an update to Blackwood to ensure that those who play on the map have access to the same content as the multiplayer game in a much more condensed size. This would also suit smaller multiplayer servers. However I do have an alternate suggestion: 5 - New Map: The New World A map with the same overall size as Blackwood, but modelled after the real world - much like what the multiplayer ATLAS is doing, but on a more compressed scale. Players start in the Caribbean freeport and the Americas on the western side of the map - with the expansive "Atlantic Ocean" (containing the Kraken's Maw - and 'Atlantis' in the depths) between them and Europe, Africa (and perhaps even a representation of Asia and Australia, if it would fit) on the eastern side with the polar caps hosting icy zones representing the Arctic and Antarctic regions at the top and bottom of the map. Where possible animals would be assigned to spawn on their respective land masses/biomes (i.e. Lions, Elephants and Giraffes in Africa, Wolves in the Americas and Europe, etc.). The Stones of Power can be spread throughout the world (such as ruins in South America and Africa, hidden away in ruined castles in Europe, etc) which encourages the player (or players) to sail and explore - to tame specific creatures they would need to head to specific biomes (which, with the ability to utilise the new 'tame transporter' ship, can be great to showcase what is possible in ATLAS). It would also give players several distinct choices on where to live (the Americas, Caribbean, Europe, the Mediterranean or Africa - or the north/south pole as they choose). This map would also include the necessary resources and requirements for end-game content (such as Atlantean ruins), and need to be able to be expanded upon (in terms of catering to future content). As referenced above regarding SotD, SotD would only spawn in certain regions, though especially in the oceans adjacent to Stones of Power and surrounding the Kraken's Maw - meaning a player or players can go 'hunting' for them with only a very minor chance of them appearing elsewhere - and certainly not as soon as you exit the starter zone. 6 - Gold This is more specific to Single Player, but more ways to find/earn gold would be a great addition. As Single Players *need* gold to manage the larger, more capable ships - even to use a Sloop to get off the starter island - one could find themselves essentially bottlenecked trying to find enough gold to afford a crew. I have no issue with the cost of AI crew, or their cost of retention, but coming up with the gold to pay for them to begin with was quite challenging. In my playthrough, very few bits of flotsam spawned in the starter area and I found myself having to use a raft (after already buying and prepping the ill-fated Sloop) to head out into the adjacent, more dangerous zone, to look for flotsam - to then head back to the starter area in order to get myself a crew. In SP, I suppose I am not penalised for staying on the starter island (with the exception of not having access to metal) so this might not be seen as much of an issue, but in a multiplayer setting - you don't necessarily want your players to base out of the starter island: you want them to leave and explore the larger ATLAS world (hence why there is now no metal on the starter islands). Even if, in SP specifically, one of the vendors in the freeport bought a stack of wood, thatch or stone for 1 gold. It's a lot of work (rates notwithstanding) for little gain but if a player is struggling and they're prepared to put in the effort, they can afford to get off the island with a crewed Sloop, leaving the starter zone behind them (though I would still return myself, especially if I was hosting a non-dedicated session with a friend - or if it was a private server). =CONCLUSION= Overall, I did find that ATLAS had fewer, less obvious bugs than when I last played - so it has clearly had some TLC applied. During my 5 or so hours getting reacquainted, I had no trouble with the way leveling now works, or the introduction to progression. I can not, obviously, speak to the balance of the wider multiplayer game as I personally would not seek to play ATLAS on such a scale - as I play with a small, close group of friends. From what I've been able to observe and achieve in my time, there is no issue with how things progress (with the exception of SotD and extremely high temps). If the 6 main points above were to be addressed and/or achieved this would put ATLAS in good stead when it comes out of Early Access. If "v1.0" does not contain methods to address or fix the issues listed above, the game cannot be considered "out of Early Access" when features it has had since EA launch do not function as intended across all game modes. Thank you for reading.
  19. My first question is about servers in general: We started playing Atlas a few weeks ago (there are 2 of us). We originally wanted to play on a dedicated private rented server and invite another friend or 2, but chose to play the single player on a non dedicated server (tethered) after reading that we'd have to rent several servers in order to get access to a large portion of the map on a private server. I'm still not sure we understand how the servers and maps work, and how many squares of the map you get per server that you rent. We just want to be able to enjoy all the content of the game with the boss fights, power stones, kraken , ghost ship, etc. .. and were afraid that we'd miss most of that if we only had a couple squares to work with. Can someone explain to me how many squares of the map you actually get per rented server? Also, if you only get a few squares to work with, does that mean you just never get to fight the bosses or see the content in the other squares you don't have access to? Okay, my next issue is regarding our non dedicated server randomly "breaking": Okay, so when we first started playing we played for probably about a week with everything seemingly going okay. We were enjoying the game and learning the ins and outs, building things, leveling etc. One evening the game crashed on us repeatedly and when the host tried to validate his files in Steam, it said 1 file was unable to be validated. We assumed something glitchy happened with some update and we just decided that although it was a pain in the butt, we'd just start over. We then found out that the spyglass was the culprit of our crashes, and it was each time the spyglass was used that crashed the game. We decided to just go ahead and start over anyway since we really weren't that far in, because of the file that said it couldn't validate and since the spyglass issue things were acting weird anyway. Fast forward now we're almost 2 weeks into our fresh server and now last night it seems like the server broke on us again. There is no sense in continuing to play if we are going to just have to start over every 10 days or 2 weeks. I'm hoping someone can give me some insight into what we can do to fix this. Sorry in advance for the long story, but I want to go through most of what I can remember we did, in case it is something we did that "broke" things again. Most of the evening of us playing went fine, then all of the sudden I crashed and it said I lost my connection to the host. While trying to re-join it would not show our sever in the list, so the host had to reboot his game and then it would show for me. We've never had those issues before last night. After the 2 times of that happening, everything seemed to work fine. We were able to continue playing with no issues for a while. We decided to go do some ship exploration, get some resources, and then do a couple of treasure maps. For a while everything seemed normal, while sailing, with normal ship attacks, shipwrecks to dive, flotsam floating etc. During our exploration we found what we believe may be the Kraken location (we aren't positive on that) and went inside the swirling water (nothing happened when we did). That was in F4. Then we went over to G5 and hunted the ghost ship for a little while. We think we may have found it during the day, as our ship started having some weird ghosting effects. At that time we didn't realize the ship only appeared at night. We decided to go ahead and do some treasure maps. We were going to sail home to C9 to drop our resources off and lighten our ship, then head out. At some point during that journey we realized we hadn't seen a Ship of the Damned in quite a while. Then realized we hadn't seen any shipwrecks or flotsam. We decided to re-log in case that was the problem. After we did, the shipwrecks and flotsam all re-appeared, but we still didn't see any Ships of the Damned. We sailed the rest of the way home and never saw any. I picked 3 Journeyman maps in A9. The host picked up the maps and noticed they said the minimum gold awarded for them were 0, which was odd. He handed them over to me and each one said the minimum was around 15k. While that was strange, we decided to go ahead and sail out to do them. We sailed from C9 to A9 and still never saw any ships, but did see shipwrecks and flotsam. We got to the location and the beam didn't show up for the host. He handed the map over to me and the beam showed up just fine. I walked over to the beam expecting it to activate the spawn, but nothing happened. I took my shovel out and started to dig and it crashed the server. We both came back in and tried again and it crashed again as soon as I tried to dig. We came back in a 3rd time, and this time we decided to pick up more t-map bottles to see if they also said there was a minimum of 0 gold as the reward. The host tried to pick up 3 bottles, and although it showed him picking them up.. the bottles weren't showing in his inventory. I went and found a bottle to pick up and the same thing happened, it wasn't in my inventory. We ended up just logging out after that. What would cause a server to just randomly seem to "break"? Is there a way to fix this? This game is unplayable for us if we have to restart from scratch every 10 days or 2 weeks because something breaks the server. We are really enjoying the game and want to continue to play. What can we do? Thanks for your time!
  20. The last update when you had players was v402.6-ish, before the farmhouses, prefab crap, the wipes, and all the excess crap that got added that no one wanted. Want to save the game? roll back that far. The 15x15 map was amazing, could literally roll back that far with minor changes, and many old players would return. For people who just like to tame, breed and farm just add a few Ark size islands. Add greenhouse structures so we can grow crops in any biome, breed tames in any biome. We wanted legacy ships to expand to frigates, sloops should have been slightly bigger. Get rid of or change the weird ship of the damn and army of the damned, pirates or skeletons-ish would work, remove mines, farms anything and everything prefab ships and structures. The point of sailing was to go out and get those recourses, not auto farm and sell them, limit island claims and shipyards, no company should need more than 2 small and 2 large shipyards. If ships sat for too long we should be able to claim them, breeding and raising tames should be less time consuming, these are things most people wanted but no one listens to small or solo players.... the main players of your game, instead you listen to mega comps and pvp players. Sooo many more ideas that we wanted but were ignored. Watch both your trailers and see and remember the aww that we seen and the game we remember and deserve. https://youtu.be/miwYMiEUYiA https://youtu.be/7pXqX73FGFY MAGA ( Make Atlas Great Again)
  21. Hello all, I have seen ships with triangular sails and while they are sailing, the boom is on the opposite direction of what it should be. For example, if I am heading N, and the wind comes from the W, the boom should be on my starboard side. I understand that this is not a sailing simulator, but still, it is kind of awkward.
  22. playing single player on ocean map. I built on an island. took a break and I come back and Im on water with animals being submerged. why was all the land removed. half my base under water and none of the island I explored is anywhere to be seen. is this what the game does if you are on ocean? it wipes out the islands? defo not playing on live and it looks like Ocrean is a bust on single player as well. my base on blackheart is still okay but that map says no islands to explore. says only one island in swamp? is this why no one is playing? I had hopes for this game but atwo years later stuff is still breaking badly. I mean my base is under water? if I were on live my animals would be already dead. I have no where to put them now as I cant carry them.
