I built a Sloop. It's about a 30 minute craft. Also alongside that, it's just the frame. I built it, the frame.. everything but the Sail.. I died after that, now I cannot get back to my ship or raft... No idea why as I've respawned at that bed several times. It shows the bed is there, just won't let me respawn. VERY frustrating after spending HOURS working on that sloop.

I have a better idea, have the devs login with a gasbag and blow all the limp bodies into the water so they drown lol.

I can definitely get on board with this idea, possibly even as a shoulder pet?

Yes that 6 FPS splash screen is horrendous OMG. I'm running dual Titan Blacks and literally get 6 FPS while that thing is loading. Who's great idea was that? As soon as that thing starts to load, no one can hear me in Discord and I can't hear them. It literally almost locks my computer up.

If you are still having issues with it, I found on two occassions now, when I verified files in Steam it fixed a file and I was good. May be a good idea to make this a standard operating procedure when they push a new version.

73 Mb update, no idea how long it was sitting there or when the patch went out. Would be nice to have a record of this, am I missing one? I know we are waiting for maintence at this point, but just curious.

I doubt it. AWS probably doesn't cost more per individual player/resource than anything else. Less, if anything, because server space isn't dedicated to one task so it's never being wasted, you're only paying for what you use. So if they put a cap on how many ppl could join, and they had a good idea of the resources each person would use, they would be able to get a good estimate of the cost. If they could monetize per concurrent player in some fashion instead of trying to sell an mmo (it would be an actual mmo with aws and no per-zone player caps, unlike now) in a lump sum, it could be very profitable. If you have done it right then if you have enough ppl on to get a ten million dollar bill or whatever then you've made fifty or a hundred mil off those players for that month anyway. And honestly they could have done the same thing that aws and spatial os do with their OWN server clusters. They're already paying for a bunch of servers (or running them themselves) so they could have written the server code so that each server helps where its needed, so that zones can be cut down into smaller and smaller clusters as more ppl pack in, etc. Instead they've got most of their servers sitting their with their proverbial thumbs up their butts doing nothing while the spawn area servers lose their shit constantly and the login servers.... don't exist because they have the map servers handle that instead of having A SINGLE FREAKING LOW POWER SERVER to handle logins. Which is why most of us can't get in right now, because the game can't communicate with the server that's holding our player data, and there's no option to just create a new player without already being in world.

I like the idea. Think about it, you're trying to survive and your chance of survival is increased when you have someo e else there to help gather quickly, help hunt etc. Also, it promotes some co-op early on - even pvpers need to work together against others. Most importantly, it's a chance to make your first friend and ally in the game.... and possibly the first big lesson if you work together and get off the island only for them to later turn on you for your stuff - welcome to the world of pirates...

woah, they don't owe the customer anything more than we already have? so we have a broken game... lol happy to know you're perfectly fine with buying games to not play them. I'll go ahead and release several. I'll expect you as a customer. Now what to charge... what to charge... how's $10 each? I'll just release the same thing about a million times and change the name. so an idea to help dial down the lag in the freeport servers. when someone logs off while on the freeport server they should disappear, this would help the port look neater and less like a homeless shelter as well has it would help the performance so the server wouldn't have the extra players to load In. this wouldn't change the gameplay since you cant kill these bodys anyway or access them. im sure yall know an are working on the lag, atm it is near unplayable for many.

I've already said my point in a different post but. At this time, the game is frankly unplayable. Don't have a company or friends to play with? No point spawning in any of the Lawless regions, you can't get of them, unless you actually swim. Which leads to you having to spawn in a freeport, where there's instance upon instance of logged out players/bodies which creates a completely unbearable fcking desynch that makes it nigh impossible to move or do anything. I've come up with an idea, but the thought alone makes it seem so damn tedious, as it revolves around you simply spawning in a lawless region and focus on just leveling up gathering and killing animals and when you've reached a high enough level, you unlock all the skills that has to do with Vitamin degeneration and swimspeed, and you then plot your own course and you start swimming. Hoping you'll reach a habitable island before you either die of vitamin deficiency, starvation or get killed by the hundreds of sharks that will be after you. Currently, this seems like the best course of action to me, unless they do what I mentioned in game which is reduce server sizes by 10. 4000 over 40000players, 40 per instance, per island and remove all the bodies that aren't logged in. They just don't have the server capacity to run a server with 40000, so I don't know how delusional these devs are but. This has been some out of season april fools joke so far. Not to mention, not even the streamers are recommending this game. Except Burke of course, but this was made for him, but him aside. Nobody wants us to give this company a money, that's a huge red flag, that shouldn't go unnoticed.

had bed placed on raft no one can spawn on it. have zero idea how to set the teleport or spawn on it either and we lost the raft out in sea.

I want to know whose brilliant idea it was for us to die from eating too much food with literally no way to stop it. Considering how slowly it does damage I had to sit there for a good 5-6 minutes while the screen got obnoxiously more darker with that pounding sound getting louder while I could do nothing about it.

Played up until level 7 on lawless until I realized it was totally pointless. What a boring game. It looks nothing like the videos too. I have no idea what they were running those videos on but the graphics on my rig running everything on high and epic look awful.

You mean...unreal engine 4? Why doesn't the fortnite window pop up then...oh wait it's a direct import of ark with some apparently extremely dubious network coding for its server sharding with dark and light assets tossed in. Considering their history of delays with ark patches (not just expansions but patches in general) one has to wonder why they thought it a good idea for an aggressive announcement date instead of saying coming soon....then releasing it "early."

Do we have a good idea of what the differences in play are, besides the obvious lack of being able to hurt players? I'll confess that I have a harder time seeing such systems as government or trading really matter in a world where there's no player on player action. Is the monster faction going to provide opportunities for these systems to function to their greatest potential?

^^^ This right here is why this is a bad idea. It would look like nothing is getting done. Mostly would be people sitting at desks, would only stoke the fire.
