  1. Hi Wildcard new player here. Well sort-of I bought your game when it was first released but my computer at the time couldn't run it. Just want to say I'm so happy you guys are still working on the game and haven't given up on it, even with all the haters! This game is starting to get better and I think you will start seeing more players. You guys rock and so do your games!
  2. Edit (May 18th): Due to an unexpected issue, we’ve made the difficult decision to delay tonight’s patch to next Wednesday, May 25th @ 7PM PDT. We want to ensure the start of the new season is as smooth as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Ahoy Pathfinders! The time has come for new adventures to begin again in the world of Atlas. While familiar, the seas have shifted and hold new mysteries and challenges for both new and old pathfinders alike. With the recent discovery of the Golden Age ruins, pathfinders will find themselves tested by new adversaries that will strike down the most experienced of pirates if not careful. Seven of these bosses now roam the lands waiting to unleash their might on any that dare to find them. Are you brave enough to take the challenge? There is also talk of an new unexplored region, shrouded in mystery, that may bring a new set of trials to pathfinders looking to unlock its secrets. Do not trust your senses in this eerie place for one false move may spell doom for you and your crew. The map itself has also undergone a few changes to make traversing the world a little easier. As always, with the new content, we are also continuing to fix many of the issues that have been reported by you, the community, and will continue to do so until we get it right. We want to say thank you to all the pathfinders that have provided feedback and suggestions and that continue to support us as we make gradual steps to make Atlas the best gameplay experience possible. With that said, the servers will go down May 18th at 7PM PDT and will undergo a few hours of maintenance. Barring any issues, we expect the servers to return and season nine to start around May 18th, 10PM PDT. We wish all the best luck in your new adventures and, of course, happy sailing! Released Patch Notes v543.0 Season 9 Patch Ahoy pathfinders! The tides of Atlas are shifting again. New exotic locales to explore and dangers to confront have emerged. New Content New Mini-Bosses of the Golden Age Ruins Seven new Mini-Bosses have been added. Each Golden Age Ruin island will now have its own boss to find and fight. Ancient Fire Elemental The first fire elemental ever to be created. An unknown, wicked deity possessed inflamed, volcanic rocks. It is rumored that all other fire elementals derive from this one. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in A7 Elder Rock Elemental A Giant Rock Elemental that has seen the tides of the Atlas shift many times. He has finally arisen from the sulfurous land to destroy pathfinders who trespass on his grounds. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in F4 Kekada A Deep Sea crab that invaded the surface long ago. Its docile nature was corrupted by the power stone contained on the island it is found on. Kekada now brutally crushes anything it can fit in its massive claws. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in L7 Buwaya A cursed Crocodile that is only told about in myths originating from the Philippines. Legend says, those who fall victim to this monster are taken to the world of the spirits. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in G8 Eber The Boar God. Even creatures have deities, and this one smells awful according to Pathfinders who have encountered it. They say it is a big, feral boar with rotting flesh and piercing eyes that roams the forest. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in L3 Crystal Scorpion Legend of a mysterious scorpion that appears only in darkness that is drawn to dark energies. Found on the Golden Age Ruin island in M13 The Sentinel A cyclops creature tasked with protecting crystal entities. Corrupted by tainted crystals, this creature's appearance has taken on the visage of the very crystals he guards. Found in the Golden Age Ruin island in E1 Maw Waters A new region has been discovered! A brave, possibly foolish, Pathfinder followed the Ships of the Damned across the waters of Atlas. He returned with tales of a land shrouded in darkness and unnaturally thick fog, with creatures that seem to vanish or appear out of thin air, and eerie green fires. As proof of his findings he brought back a strange crystalline substance, soft to the touch yet somehow solid. His final notes state that any Pathfinder who ventures to these lands should not trust their eyes, as empty stretches of land may have hidden dangers. New Items Lantern of the Maw A special lantern that automatically appears on ships when they enter the Maw Waters region. Interact with the steering wheel to access the lanterns inventory, see current Essence value, and craft Solidified Essence. Fully fill your lantern to leave the Maw Waters region. How to gather Essence of the Maw and fill your Lantern There are several activities that will grant your lantern Essence of the Maw. With the exception of the Relic of the Maw all Essence is gathered on the ship the player enters on. Active Accumulation Destroy Ships of the Damned - Each ship destroyed will grant 10 Essence Destroy other players ships - Each ship destroyed will grant 25 Essence Obtain a Relic of the Maw - The Relic of the Maw is found in Flotsom and when consumed on a ship instantly fills that ship's lantern to full. Relic of the Maw An ancient Golden Age Relic, found only in the Maw Waters. Using this Relic will instantly grant 100 Essence of the Maw. Reworked Map The World of Atlas has shifted again, new lands have emerged and the known world has been disfigured. Maps all around the Atlas will need to be redrawn with these newly discovered regions. Bug Fixes Fixed instances where babies born in the tame house did not require imprinting. 4. I just want NPC pirate ships on both PVP and PVE. make it a real pirate game in PVE they can do part of the fun part of the game without the PVP aspect. But at this point I don't see them making any more effort into pirating in a pirate game but it would be nice.
  5. I don't see why they couldn't just put limits on island ownership as well as limits in other ways (allies). One company one island period. If you want to allow more smaller or medium companies flourishing making the island pointless to be concord since they cant have the massive companies just taking over island by island since they can't own more than one anyway. Yes that will abuse allies but since that would lead to some infighting and more sea battles I don't see why that cant be an option. I'm sure someone will argue against this and I actually welcome it as I don't understand island ownership in PVP anyway. I've never even tried to own one.
  6. Upon retrospect and at the risk of contradicting myself, I wonder if Atlas was really advertised as a "pirate game". What do you think? I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm itching for a really good sandbox MMO pirate survival game. Sea of Thieves is a really good polished game, but has no continuity is too repetitive. I don't want to ship battle other players all day. I'd like something more immersive. Maybe my expectations of this game are wrong and I simply bought a game that wasn't what I was actually looking for.
  7. I agree with what you said about making the game friendly to new players. This is a no-brainer for a game company as you want to attract as many new players as possible. The second problem is really this game is trying to be a land conquest game and not a pirate game. They need to focus on the experience of being a pirate game first IMO.
  8. I think the fog is immersive and indicative of sailing. Changing your plans based on weather conditions is realistic albeit a challenge at times. When I'm sailing and caught in a fog, I have to be super careful not to run into SotD. This is where you should try to find land and maybe do some crafting and gathering. The same goes when the sun goes down. You want to plan around it. Digressing a little, they need to eliminate the FLEETS of the damned and replace them with wild pirates. It doesn't make sense that there are that many ghost ships.
  9. its no different then if a server has 145 players out of 150 when you enter it only 5 players can play the boat can travel though the server can load 5 players the other 10 will be in the queue waiting for the ship to leave that server and load back into the game are you one of those players who think FPS games should let players join whatever team they want with no limitations you say it "excludes" players from playing but these people have a choice and can control where they go and when work with your company use communication and team work to deal with this new challenge are you afraid of the game being harder? the majory of the world will still have no cap also an important note when playing there is almost never a time when your whole company is in the same tile
  10. if you are a older gamer you will remember games like Battlefield sometimes never had an option to keep teams balanced in the past people would end up all joining the winning team the server would end up with 50 players vs 14 players in a 64 player server guess what happened to the gameplay when that happened guess how fast the server would die and become unplayable Atlas has been trying to stop this sort of gameplay happening by limiting company member numbers but this only hurts new players / casual players to make room new players and casual players are far more likely to be kicked from the company if you have no company in atlas the game becomes almost unplayable you are now forced to quit if you ever want Atlas to grow if you ever want the game to be popular do this... start by removing company member limits and add a server cap for company member's per server (tile) Lawless islands 5 player cap Servers next to freeport 10 player cap Normal servers 25 player cap Kraken Server / Event Servers no cap if 25 players enter a 10 player server 10 will enter and the other 15 will now be in a Queue limiting players from the same company from joining that same server (they will still be asleep on the ship and able to travel though this server on that ship) allow players in the queue to use in game company chat so they can communicate and organize who should be logged in or out for that tile give preference to higher ranking members of the clan if a ship of 20 players enters a lawless island server (5 player cap) the 5 highest ranked players on the ship will load the other 15 will be placed into a queue look do you want this game to grow ever? ever? you need to make the world playable for new players the only time this game is ever playable for smaller groups / new players is when a new season starts no shit people can get around the cap by leaving the company or splitting their company up SO WHAT? this still makes it harder to be zerged... this also makes the "company caps" almost worthless a function only added to get people to quit the game so remove it and use a system like this instead the more the game grows the bigger you can now make the world and maybe even add uncapped servers but right now understand you need this game to have the ability to grow a dead game is not enjoyable for anybody Daish has spoken if you disagree you are a fool or you want this game to die
  11. This thing barely runs on windows, which is was "developed for" and you want to run it on linux , my man, you have more patience than i do. Hell, could try it on a z/OS mainframe and see what happens lol.
  12. Hopefully they spend some time fixing the bugs around the modular ships or even somehowe around ships and sailing... instead of stupid new land items to place... I am officialy tired of writing down my feedback. On Discord it gets deleted everytime because the mod says i always post bugs which i am not allowed to... for me it's all about features the Devs add to the game and they are working as intended.(so legit feedback). But they don#t want to read here, they don't want feedback there... so we just go and let them be.
  13. Meanwhile it's 2022 and the industrial season wipe is announced. So time to jump back on board, but what about the font and special characters. it seeams there's still nothing implemented. Is this still the way to go if one want to change fonts? is there a better more appealing way ?
  14. The course of the discussion in this topic started TOO well, so as not to stumble upon someone's disputes in the end. I want to say thank you to everyone who responded here, even if "nothing new" was said. If several people confirm the same information, this indicates that the information is up-to-date and verified. I'm just glad to read the same thing twice, it helps me make a choice. So thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. If my hard drive survives this month, I'll start experimenting with CPU and RAM as you suggested.
  15. Wed from the Discord. They ignore the forums and other social media. If you want current info, go there.
  16. Each time I see a patch I have to roll my eyes in disappointment. First and foremost Atlas was advertised as a pirate game. However for some reason, those in charge have been treating it like an island conquest game, or a game for large trading companies. The devs keep adding endgame type stuff, but what about improving just the basic flavour of the game that everyone would be interested in ? We still have stupid amounts of fleets of the damned, nowhere to build, and very limited questing. Why not do something interesting like have royal navy/ pirate factions? How about replace the pedestrian ubiquitous fleets of the damned with NPC wild pirates? Change something in the game that makes us actually want to log back on and play! There was so much potential with Atlas but they seem to squander it away with dumb decisions. I don't think they understand their player base at all. I've given up on this game because I don't think they're going to make anything good out of this. Hopefully someone will eventually make a great open world sandbox survival that is between Atlas and Sea of Thieves.
  17. I'm actually done with this game. With Ark you know some salty kid is going to come along in a Mech and wipe you. But the salty kids on this game bought it and now develope it. So you don't answer tickets, don't fix issues, just paint over them or downright ignore them with your line, we are not officially released yet. Fix your game before adding more broken content. Ships sinking at 90% life, not like it was easy to get either, Legendary Pegasus shouldn't be sinking at 90%. Or did you catch your wife blowing your boss and want to drive his customer base down. We wanted new land to settle on, we get tiny amounts while vast empires control whole sectors and bully other players who have also payed for this game. Not even land we can make our own. We wanted mega companys restricted but all you did was give them more lawless land. Doesn't take points to claim it, takes fucking wooden posts. Your worse than world of warcraft for giving your player base exactly what they done want. Your tame houses are for the mega breeders and to tidy up the breeding bases, nothing else, no other benefit. Your prefabricated boats sink way too easy and you swallow what the megas tell you to. Grow some balls and do whats right for your game before everyone else leaves
  18. So more fun times. If you want a way to get rid of junk animals instantly build one stock it and then demo the building. Everything goes including the animals. So I found a real use for these! Instant way of deleting animals :). Otherwise so far they are useless. Poop doesn’t collect, unloading puts them all over the place including under buildings, and baby’s that aren’t caught when unloaded die in less than a minute irregardless of level.
  19. Im looking to buy a server as I have done with Ark on ps4 for years. I want to see how this plays out or I definetly wont buy a server as many new players like cogs, if cogs are useless that means less players and no point me even thinking about it
  20. Would it be possible to keep QoL skills between wipes? While this is possible it is not something that should be done without consideration. The most active time is the few weeks after a wipe when players are all at the same progress level, same island claim opportunity, etc. Allowing players to keep their quest progress will give an unfair advantage to those players. We are looking into ways of reducing the repetitiveness of the progression to endgame. Sounds like BS to me! Wipes are nothing but a short population by boost destroying players progress and forcing them to regrind old content. The early game sucks and its boring. I've seen it too many times. This is not about being fair. People start out fresh and are behind others all the time. It's an MMO, that's how it works. Destroying people's progress over and over is not how it's done in MMOs. Even those that start fresh at the same time have different play rates and are quickly at different levels and progress. As in all MMOs. And it matters less than zero on pve. For pvp how about something more logical if you want a wipe... Now that we have portals, link pve zones and pvp zones. Then only wipe the structures on pvp zones only, leaving the pve zone untouched and skills untouched. Maybe two factions of pve zones on either side of the pvp zones like pirates and the English. After a pvp zone wipe, the pvpers can race in to claim and do their thing. While the pveer can support their faction. Now you have an economy and more game play. Doing it without buying a population boost by destroying players efforts. ... The real problem is currently many players run out of content once they reach a point, then play less. So, you make them regrind old content over and over. And in the process, you piss off the long remaining player base. I can't think of any other MMO that does this. ... One mega server, split in two sides/factions (or more), with a large rich pvp zone in the middle. Rich as in something worth fighting over. Not just fighting just to fight. Rich pve zones that pveer never need to leave if they choose not to and from which they can support the needs of their pvp faction should they choose to.
  21. The flying ship appeared in the picture again, last time it appeared was May 13, 2021. I wonder what means ??? We want flying ship !!! We want flying ship !!! We want flying ship !!!
  22. Ahoy Pathfinders! We're bringing back an old favorite as we wait for the next update to come to shore. Last weekend, in our community Discord, we opened a channel to gather any and all questions from our community for our amazing Dev team. We reviewed all the questions and we've answered a few of them below. Even if yours was not selected to be answered publicly, we are taking all of your responses as feedback to continue to make to Atlas a better game for all. Thank you to all that participated. As a reminder, the answers below only reflect the current timeframe and are subject to change. While we can provide current insight on the game and what we hope to do, what is destined we can’t foresee. We appreciate your support and understanding. Without further ado, here’s our Q&A! Hang out in our Discord for a chance to get your questions answered in the next Q&A! Q&A Would it be possible to keep QoL skills between wipes? While this is possible it is not something that should be done without consideration. The most active time is the few weeks after a wipe when players are all at the same progress level, same island claim opportunity, etc. Allowing players to keep their quest progress will give an unfair advantage to those players. We are looking into ways of reducing the repetitiveness of the progression to endgame. When will Bola's be stackable? April 13th Patch Do you have plans on expanding the lore of Atlas? Yes, there are plans to expand the lore of the game world. We are currently working on systems for this. One of the contributors to this is the addition of the “Timeworn” quality level on blueprints. Is there a way to see all the features you plan to add before you move into the fixing and optimization phase? Please keep an eye on the official roadmap listed on the Trello board. (link here) This will be updated constantly to keep features in development public. Have devs ventured into unofficial communities to see how gameplay differentiates with mods? How has that impacted the future plans for the game? The unofficial communities have done a wonderful job with creating custom Atlas experiences. We look for mods that are widely adopted by the community in an effort to absorb the feedback. If a mod is universally used, that means there was an issue with the core game that needed to be addressed. We use that information to update our plans and address that issue. What can be done to make the game more enjoyable for the solo and/or small group player(s)? We are re-working the live realm maps so that the islands that mega-companies will be drawn to are outside the main travel routes. In addition, there are going to be several smaller islands added that are not enticing to large companies, which should allow for solo/small groups to have a positive Atlas experience. Are there any plans to change/add unwanted, repetitive islands to improve the balance between islands? During our polish phase we will be adjusting these islands to make them more enticing. Do you guys have plans to adjust endgame PVE? There are seven new bosses being added so each powerstone will have a unique boss encounter. We will be investigating different avenues to enhance maps as well in the future. When I leave my ship anchored the sailors will only repair the planks & decks of the ship. Are there plans to have the sailors repair the whole ship at some point? This is something we can look into in the future, but is currently not being planned. Will you add the ability to use deck swivels for modular ships? We will be adding additional modular railings in the next few patches. A Modular railing with swivels is planned to be included. Are there any plans to create a healthier breeding system so people won't burn out from breeding on the official server? We are implementing a new structure called the Tame House. This structure will greatly improve the breeding experience. What as the Dev Team are your plans to maintain and grow the player community? For the official side of Atlas, there has been discussion around a few ideas. One of these ideas might be a smaller “specialty” realm or realms. These specialty realms may have a shorter season time, maybe just one month, and revolve around different game modes. For example, there would be one month where tames are removed from the game, or where the only weapons are swords and pistols. I know a lot of people want to see a timeline of updates/planned updates/planned wipes/etc. Is there a plan for more transparency of what’s to come for Atlas? After release, we will have a regular schedule for our wipes, new seasons, and patches. The Trello board will contain this information. Any details on the Devkit update? The Devkit gets updated at least once a season, usually around the beginning of the new season. We may update it more frequently, especially if we introduce a large system. Any more plans for livestreams like we had around launch? We have not had any discussions about this, however we would love to have a live Dev steam. Will there be temporary alliance bed placement on your alliances ships and or foundations? This feature is something we have been planning on implementing for a little while, it should make its way into the game in the near future. Any plans to update to a newer version of Unreal Engine? There has been discussion about updating to Unreal Engine 5 at some point in the future. It is a tremendous amount of work that will sidetrack us for months, so we have not made a decision yet on if that’s the best course of action. Final Note Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted. Features and changes that ultimately make it to the next patch, as well as timing, may be different from what was previously discussed. As always, we appreciate the suggestions and feedback from the community. Please keep them coming! Thank you for all of your support! 24. Hi it is how it sounds I feel like there needs to be more discussion on the greyed out map bugs for the unofficial dedicated servers for atlas this issue has been around for a year and as far as I can tell there has been nothing done to address this, now this is not a post about being nasty to the developers or anyone else i'm simply looking for answers and solutions as to why this issue persists for a product service that is subscription based what is the situation with atlas and this bug and will it be fixed? because me and my pals want to come back to atlas but this issue is a huge roadblock to that who employs nitrado now anyway as a side note they are a vile server provider with impressively terrible servers and support teams
  25. Hi, After I lost all at the beginning of atlas I thought to give a go again, Started a new game and travelled for long time to find a island were i can build my base in PVE, i start build my base in the Desert area was going very well I had plenty of resources and 5 ship and got some tames animal to help, all was going really well, until i decide to go to south America to get some extra bear, so on Monday I went after a looooong run I got there Look around couldn't find nothing so I docked my ship didn't want to waist another 1 hours travelling back, next day log in again and found a bear i tame him the i thought to get another one couldn't find so I docked again, so I sent a message to ask if was ok to stay away for couple of day's from my area and someone say to me I have 10 day for my base to and 7 day for my tame, so I thought to stay in south America one more day, got another tame and went home when i dock my boat i noticed 3/4 of my base disappeared and all my boxes with the resources gone this is a crap game after 1200 hours playing this game i lost all in a matter of 3 days and i did connect every day. WHY THIS GAME IS SO F.... DUMB MAKING PEOPLE WAIST TIME AND MONEY .
