  1. While I appreciate the sentiment to eliminate spam, I assume this means implementing a base repair structure is considerably less likely in the future?
  2. To extend your point, beyond devs with edit tools, can anyone be certain they know all their island's spawn points?
  3. Another datapoint - 192% quality shipyard blueprint boosted to 194% (with a really bad int roll) resulted in 174% quality ships that apparently top out at level 49, so that jives with Zeroenergy's comment on level formula above. How they calculate a ship quality of 174% from a shipyard quality of 194% is beyond me, however.
  4. Exactly. Those were serious fun for me. Now they are discarded, or in my case not even picked up in the first place.
  5. You just have to get close with an empty cargo rack mounted on a ship. One of the options on your wheel is "Pick up Cargo" if you are close enough. From experience it seems to pick up from a decent radius.
  6. Probably related - most of our old buoys appear to have multiple signs visible now. Only one of them is actually attached to the buoy, the rest are just floating in air, and obscuring whatever is written on the real buoy. Started seeing this about a week ago.
  7. Once I figured out that there were creative ways to engage the undead without losing any more of my tames, my interest went way, way up. So much so that I was almost too engaged in coming home to play the game every night. Now that they eliminated them, my interest couldn't be lower, and I stopped picking up bottles entirely. There is very little sand left in our sandbox.
  8. I used to get masochistic joy out of trying the crazy inaccessible ones, and would only pick up red bottles, but since they broke everything but melee and tames, I don't even look at bottles anymore. I'd rather leave them for the tame crowd, even though I know the hardest ones can't be done by them either. I wish I had taken movies of the crazy zombie apocalypses my mates and I used to stage.
  9. 90,000 darkwood, 45,000 marble, 35,000 ironwood, 25,000 twigs, 25,000 copper, 25,000 iron, and a Rhino... and I'm exhausted.
  10. Purely conjecture: I think there is some kind of validation check when you pick up a map to make sure the location originally generated is still valid (due to new player structures, etc). You can pick up a map and look at it within a second. All that information must be pre-generated, or if it isn't it doesn't have enough time to generate and validate a second destination against the destination server.
  11. +1 to hoping they fix this someday, but it's been around since at least February, possibly forever. Temporary work around that has always worked for me: Add a bottom deck temporarily (chances are you don't have one if you are seeing this problem on the aft, still possible this won't fix problems on the bow, see below) If that doesn't solve your problem, place a temporary wall piece attached to the bottom deck as close as possible to directly under the part you are trying to add Add your pieces Demolish your bottom deck Demolish any extraneous walls
  12. 38 is the highest I've seen in Polar as well, but I've also never seen a true 60 in Golden Age, but lots of 58s.
  13. Serious question to anyone who actually knows: How do you know you are building over a spawn point? I have done a LOT of maps, and it is pretty rare to appear near or on a player's structure. I have seen probably two times where two maps spawned on the same spot (out of maybe 200), and I assumed that was just random chance. I have seen several spawns directly on ancient ruins, but I have also seen ruins that have player structures built all over them, and the spawn points in those cases appear just outside of the player structure. I assume that the spawn point moves to a nearby point when it checks for the presence of a player structure. Other than finding a bunch of maps for your own island (which have to be obtained on islands other than your own), how are you supposed to know?
  14. Thanks for the info, would love to know if it works the other way around, if anyone tries it. I might get a chance to do it myself this weekend.
  15. Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. The front curve on both sides work (for me), the front curve always has (for me), the back ones don't (for me), the back ones never have (for me). The ship shape curves outward slightly closer to the middle, and the planks and roofs we are using are perfectly square, so the bulge toward the center of the ship is just big enough to make the gunwale impassible when encumbered. Are you seeing the problem on the front curve?
  16. Because of a completely unrelated exploit used to level ships, if you can believe that. They used a 10-ton fix hammer on a 5-ounce exploit. This is why we can't have nice things.
  17. Interesting experiment. So could it be used to tow a slow friendly Brig with a fast Galleon? Presumably the tether breaks on zoning?
  18. For people who chose to place their flags at the top of Mt. Everest, I imagine it is at least more convenient. You could build it right inside your base, or next to the stable where you park your berry harvesting tame.
  19. They have not clearly specified what refreshes a ship's timer, and my own experience tells me that simply loading it in frequently and filling larders/resource lockers is not sufficient. I am so paranoid that I habitually unanchor and reanchor every ship every couple of weeks, even if nobody is sailing them.
  20. My galleons have included these loading ramps since February, I love them. They have always had the same crossing behavior for me. There is a small section on both sides of the ship where it starts to curve up toward the bow that can be crossed fully encumbered on foot. All other parts are just a smidge too high to cross while encumbered.
  21. This was due to a recent patch that nerfed almost anything but tames and melee against Armies of the Damned.
  22. You can only put berries in the bank.
  23. TBH, I never knew about this functionality if it existed before. I presume you are talking about setting a ship's heading via the mouse? I can confirm that it doesn't work now for me, if it ever did, but now that you opened pandora's box, we wantses it.
