  1. It seems like that the servers don't give out the Steam profile name, nor any other unique identifiers anymore... Which is a good thing, as the the Steam64ID are used to grief known players specifically... That is why everyone sets their account to 123... Now that the Tracker don't show the Steam Profile name it is much harder for the griefers to get your Steam64ID, they would need to be in the sector before you enter it to get that information - btw which should be switched from Steam Names to Atlas Names anyway, or shut of completely... It is good enough that you know how many players are online in a grid (because of the server limit and performance problem) but knowing where everyone is at any time makes it too easy for the stalkers... Example: they wipe you; you are not rage quitting the game, but try to find a new hideout far away to rebuild; they show up the next day knowing in which grid you where longer than 10mins and finish the job of you rage quitting... As for the player trackers, they could just ask the servers for current numbers and show that...
  2. That is as useless as "you can only have" X amount of company members and y amount of allies... Does not work and only helps the big guys while hurting the small guys... Anything you can bypass from outside the game will be bypassed from outside the game... That is why they came up with the only working claim solution = whole island... The problem is, that every small Bob and his mother thinks they are entitled to their own claim... If you cannot hold an island claim on your own, don't even try, and use the ones others have... Try to interact with other players - it is the MMO way...!
  3. So wiping PVP and PVE servers just for new players does not help at all..?!?! Who *cough*Realist*cough* would have not known that before...?
  4. well it is coming over from ARK, so it is known... unfortunately not known is actual size of a unit... but in ARK best practice was 100 foundations is 10k units... and that seems to still be true in Atlas (no change there)... BTW map coordinates are 5 foundation wide (exact) between 0.01...
  5. Yeah, and instead of a box, lets make it a flag... Then were are back to the very first claim system, which everyone else is happy they removed ASAP... BTW there was a lot of griefing with this system especially in PVE... why place a bunch of foundations to lock you in, which you have to farm (and now need three connected to not decay) if you can just use a free claimbox/flag...?
  6. Because... Gotta get those XBucks first...?!?! Because... PVP balancing is dead last on their official roadmap, like in half a year maybe...?!?! And guess what, they halved the structure limit, because XBucks!... so you got even less to offline defend with...
  7. Well you are not save anywhere - fast decay in freeport. And until they make changes on anchored ships (Agenda point 2, months out), or finally do the PVP balance (Agenda point Last, many months out) that is the problem of everything else in this game, no stuff will be save, even if you can be online 9 hrs/day doing nothing much to be ready for defense. And now with the XBox-lowered structure limit and no land in sight for a build system change (stronger and or bigger structure parts) it will be even harder to not loose your ships in anchor even if you are online... I get the new structure limit, sure, XBox is just a toy, they had to do it... But it will make the situation worse for now, until there is meaningful change or they go full BattleArena/PVE/ShipInABottle on the PVP servers killing the game off...

  10. if it is not the ground version of the foundation it is not... those secondary foundation are not the part giving foundation support... they might not destroy when you take out the pillar, because of sideway connection to other support... if you where right, we would have floating bases in the sky...
  11. With the same support as the ceiling... non... the pillar is still the support... Foundation only gives support if it is the lowest AND has the decor on it...
  12. No... it is just like in ARK... and now with almost same structure limit... ARK... you know? that game you played so long as a pro...? on PVE... Again the distance is ~100 foundations in all directions...
  13. 100 foundation length ~ 10k 'units' radius around you where you stand...so a little less than a 200x200 foundation area with you in the middle... everything in that radius counts towards the limit... which now got halved...
  14. The structure limit is concerning the amount of load in of structures information to the client from the point of the client. With it they try to limit server load. Every time someone gets close to a bunch of structures the server has to upload that information to the client. This results in 'lag' for everyone, while waiting for this to happen. Best - stupid - thing is in PVP you die and respawn to the beds close to where you died, and have to load in all structures again, and everyone gets a moment of silence while that happens... They played around with the load in in the last few days resulting in bases not all loading in. They lower it now (again without the needed balancing changes to PVP, which current meta NEEDS lots of structures) because the server obviously cannot handle the load even with the few people online, much less with 10k more XBobs... As far as is known the 10k units is not the same as a foundation length. It was 100 foundation in ARK and up until now structure limit range was a felt 100 foundation also - same game engine. 100 Foundation is not yet outside rendering range at high, but the action is normally in 100 foundation range... So a 100 units is foundation length still. They just flat halved the structure limit in the same range. That is a problem for defense building, where structure limit can be seen as minimum for defense. There are ways around it. The structure limit just checks amount of current structure while you want to place a new structure. Ships count towards it - pull them away for placing structure. Also start from the center out. Build to structure limit if needed and then add to the outside as you leave the center and it gets out of count range. Would be so much easier if PVP was balanced and does not need k of structures just to be still not save... Would be also so much easier to just make useful bigger versions of the structures we have - like a 2x2 Wall would reduce walls needed by ~ 75%... That would help the PVE base builder alot also... But no, we get a large wall that is worth 2% of the same surface area as wall structures... but saves 119 walls... But as they did not do in in ARK (where at least the defenses worked) they will not do it here... to much work to add different size structures for years... lag out!
  15. LOL, PCBobs will have a head start over XBobs even if it was the other way around and you start 10days early... sorry... And if you get wiped the first day or a month later, you still get wiped and start again basically... want a server wipe every time that happens to you...? You will always be behind, server wipe or not... deal with it! That is why a server wipe will not help you at all... it will make it even worst for you... because every PCBobs knows what he wants to do better this time... would there be no wipe everyone would stay where they are, therefore not in their ideal position, but not willing to move... your chances would have been better without a wipe...
  16. no, imbalance hasnot been fixed... they don't know how... still after all this time and us talking to ourselfs here... Their fix to it is to add a bunch of new players that don't know how to play the game yet... There is safety in numbers... because you only have to run faster as the slowest guy...because he gets eaten by the bear first... The more people online, the more people slower than you...

  18. Hi, my name is XBob and I really looking forward to play this game. But I cannot start to play on the 6.Oct, because I am late to the party... I will be buying the game like a week, maybe a month after it comes out on XBox. So can we have another wipe for when I finally come online for the first time? I mean... it is vitally important that I get a fair chance to start at the same point as the PCBobs and the other XBobs, right. For the good of the game it is more important to start me at Zero with everyone else, than to keep some progress of the Bobs that where here early, right...? I mean what is some other peoples invested time when it comes to me getting a fair start with everyone else at a time of my choosing, right... People like Baps will understand that, right...? I mean he should expect wipes, right...? But he should not expect that anyone like me, coming late into the game should be left behind and have to catch up, right...? Thank you for your understanding...! See you at the start line after the deserved XBobs wipe... I mean, what I don't get why you even want to play the game when it releases on XBox... because there will be a another wipe when I finally buy the game and get online later, right... I think that is such a waste of time, right...? Knowing you loose all you progress again when I finally get online so we can start together on this epic journey, right...? I mean this will be super, all the fun we will have, right...? I only hope that when Atlad releases on Mobile later, that they will not be so stupid that they wipe the servers just for them, so they can start from tje same point as everyone else before them... I would be very pissed if that happens and they wipe all the cool things I build ingame just because of these Johnny come lately's, right...? I mean at that point I would leave the game forever, right...? I cannot be expected to start all over again, right just because of some MBobs getting into the game, right...? Right...???

Well if the wanna make it easier to get a new ship - because it would “too easy“ to balance the game i guess - just make shipyards like beds... your ship sinks, pvp reapawn timer at for the shipyard, timer runs out and you spawn in with a fully build and crewed ship... if the enemy wants to stop it, they have to destroy that ship-bed... Or would that now be too easy to get a ship...? - damn, then would need to balance the game after all... Make ships more worthwhile... not throw away like a naked Bob respawning... it those not make the ship aspect of the game more fun, because you can care even less if your ships get offline griefed, but replaced faster... at some point they are so worthless to get that you sstop wamting them, then the high sea pirate game dies because of ship inflation... Fix not by replacing ships for almost nothing, fix always loosing them... i rather build a gally with ten people for week and cherish it than crank out ten suicide gallys in a day so i can loose them by my own choice destroying other peoples ships that have almost no chance... Btw more expensive ships means less likely to risk them...that also counts for the attacker... Btw cannon balls are a crew killing weapon not a ship sinking weapon... ships rarely sunk from cannon fire... you defeated the crew and looted the ship... Btw there were no divinf attachments to loot the ships you sunk for looting 10.000 ft below the see... yet that id the meta here, main reason ship get sunk...
  20. Ahahaha yarr! did the Troll get you again...?!?! FYI WPE is not for the Official network but for SinglePlayer and NonDets so you have some PVPishPVE... as has been said all along... But of course the Troll has hijacked his own thread... again... "WPE can only work with a wipe, no claims, no gold, no PVP and everything I always said... WPE is proof that I am right..." But as anyone with knowledge of the situation knows, there will be no WPEs on official... but a random spawn of just one RPE on one of the PVP servers... it will be super fun... lots of PVE RP buildings and tames, some ships at anchor to pillage on a random lawless island... not much defense though, because the RPE-King cannot be bothered to farm some gold for defense... therefore unfortunately just a low level event...
  21. So by that "logic" XBobs will only buy the game till the first day after the wipe, because the next day they will be so far behind it is not worth even trying... So by that logic and GC greed for cash-grab, we will have a Realist-wipe(tm) every...?!?! Month? Week? Daily? Or every time a XBob starts a new Bob just to be ultra sure no Realist is left behind...?!?! And by the same logic there should be Debuff for all the PCBobs, because otherwise they will be lvl 50 on day one and lvl 80 on week one... Also of course XBobs should have able to spawn in everywhere on server start, while PCBobs only at Free Ports and no Ramshackle Sloops or Rafts for them, they have to swim, so that they not get to the island they want to have and take away the good islands from the XBobs... The PCBobs can keep the NPC and claim cost, but XBobs will not have to pay that, because of racism, duh... Obviously the raid timer will have to be shorter for XBobs, so that they can compete and so that there will be no poor balancing from GC that results in XBobs leaving the game again in mass, the raid timer will be set to zero and if acceptable raised later to a few minutes... By the way there will be Factions finally included which everyone will be automatically assigned to. In the beginning it will be only two Factions: PC and XBox. And will add another one when the MobileBobs join. Thankfully there will be no wipe for the MBobs, because the have the same privilege - that they should check!!! - as the PCBobs and it would obviously be unfair to all the established XBobs to get their stuff wiped and have to start over again... It will be Utopia !!! - From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. Now we all just have to hope and pray, that all the XBobs will buy the game and a ready for restart when the server wipes, or we PCBobs will continue to be alone on the servers, all hunting the Realists in the game, just because... But you never know with this lazy XBob snowflakes, they might not wake up in time for the wipe...
