  2. i would highly recommend for new players, especially those that never played any ark like games to put in a good 100 hours on a pve server even 200. play pve till you know so much about the game that your getting bored. THEN roll a pvp toon. Youll still have alot to learn about game tactics in pvp, but youll know all the core mechanics. this is slower than my second suggestion, but youll get more total hours enjoying the game this way because youll stretch out your total hours playing this game by first getting bored of pve and you will know so much more. You could also roll a pve toon to learn about the game where you build stuff learn the ropes without having to wake up to all your stuff being destroyed and at the same time roll a pvp toon, join a big company learn the pvp ropes without investing too much in pvp until your ready. Big companies in pvp always need a new guy to help out the more experienced players gathering mats manning cannons raiding etc.... i find Alot of pvp complaints on this forum seem to come from players that are jumping into pvp before they know enough about the game to not get frustrated getting killed and demolished. learn to walk before your try to run just my 2 cents...

  4. i would need others to try this to confirm. Weight increases on ship when replacing a plank. when i noticed a weight increase after changing a plank, i did some tests first i removed a plank, which for some reason also resulted in a weight increase on a galleon of 319.7kg, adding a new plank increased ship weight by another 319.7kg my galleon base weight was about 14000kg before adding 5 large planks, after base weight was at 15598kg 1598kg extra!! 10 planks would add 3197kg , replacing all 74 planks would add 23657kg!! whats weird is this is heavier than the original 74 planks?!? ill test with a sloop later, but i wouldnt be surprised if i could sink the naked ship on weight just by replacing planks. if this holds then the longer you have a ship, the more times you replace planks, the slower your ship will get over time due to this bug keeping the weight of previous planks on ships total weight..

  6. im pve and im sailing exploring and rescuing tames as i go along, having fun, loaded a schooner with 3 elephants 4 girraffes 2 horses 5 bears on last trip, couldnt walk my deck lol then theres figuring out how to get them out of their original pens in the first place, ive left more behind than ive saved, i can hear the wails of despair from within. calling to me... remo save me too... I Bring em home , my pens got close to 100 animals and growing, trying to get the most saved from starvation before they go to the big wipe in the sky. point is in a sandbox game theres alot to do, other than posting on forums about how much someone hates the game lol(not this thread but in general) with all its faults this is the best game ive played in years

  8. well its a private custom server so its should be just a question of properly setting up the config file on said server to your taste
  9. devs could enable a buffer zone around a shipyard that doesnt allow for anchoring a ship near it that is not part of that company, that way you could push ships blocking your shipyard out of the way. make it extend in water to the normal none anchoring point forward of the shipyard.
  10. well i can understand mini games like in deus x cracking computers and door locks, but tbh i find that the mini games in atlas kill the immersion , its jarringly out of place especially in combat or repairs. yep get rid of it. its probably an idea they had eating space cake

Yes not everyone will agree but here goes. im thinking PVE but could work in PVP too, nice raging neighbor battles The islands should have predetermined land lots, that are shaped in long strips going from the ocean towards the middle of the island. This would allow every claim to have ocean access for shipyards, as well as have a good area to get mats from. 1 claim per player, companies can try and claim strips that are together. The larger islands could easily have 100+ strip claims, everyone has peace of mind of knowing yay this is my parcel and no one will grief my build here Strips could be about 5 -10 lighthouses wide, which would be more than enough for any mega building projects irl this method was used in farmland grants to avoid someone from blocking off access to a waterway such as a river, it was a solution that worked in real life griefing, and could work in atlas too. I know some people will say but but but, i wanna be able to grab the best land blah blah dont cookie cutter me or ill rage quit etc... But tbh if a little bit of cookie cutter solves most of the unpleasantness of the claim system why not? just an idea which needs to be fleshed out more.
  12. dont know if its the case but maybe the higher bp with same or lower stats can be upgraded to a higher level than the lower one. Anyone know?
  13. dev's could just enable seating of tames like npc's ive never lost a seated npc(like on sails) so if when u bring one on board devs put something like security harnesses (maybe have a row of large rings bolted to the center of ship deck) and you seat a tame in it, when you dock you unseat it. might keep them from glitching

If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Pretty clear to me...

YES I know some of you will think wtf TRAITOR!?1 3+ weeks at 6x is not good, we will all get used to it and 1x will be a nightmare when wipe goes live, as fun and stupid as 6x is, it will bite the devs in the ass, there will be even more rage quitters. Better just stick to 2x for the wait, then 1x will be a pita, while we eagerly wait for our 2x weekends... Just my 2 cents.
  20. I can understand limiting PVP alliance to max 2. But PVE is all about adding people to alliances so we can work together and meet new people. @devs consider this. PVE'ers dont fight we cooperate(except for griefers) , limiting alliance for us just shrinks the possible contacts we make ingame. Since a large part of PVE revolves around trading the more the merrier. Also setting up merchants to impersonally sell your stuff to other players, in my opinion, is not a plus in PVE. It creates a middleman npc, that cuts out actually talking with someone, haggling to make a deal and meeting new people. thoughts anyone?
