  1. so will this be the first mmo to wipe all progress all the time or is this just an EA thing? i have a tiny bit of hope to play this again as up until the first wipe and the bad claim system afterwards it was a blast. still i will just set 1 foot into this when there is no more wipes.
  2. *quartely check back* really loved the first few months of atlas until you made everything easier, removed ressource diversity, and revamped good stuff to be worse like like the claim system instead of changing the few things around it that were broken like to prevent spamming of flags...oh my this first few months despite all the bugs and issues where such a blast....played a long with the new claim system quite a while too but it was just so much worse. well i'll play again and check what it is like when you are done wiping and make a clear statement how this will be handled. as long this "season mindset" with wiping is here, i am out
  3. i was hyped a tiny bit when i read about the new map after the game got abandoned by the devs for months. i thought maybe, just maybe this might turn around and maybe they really worked for a few months to make it all better...i still like the idea of the game and had really great hours in it...but since the decisions made with the first wipe everything after was just poor quality. then the quality of this last patch and the quality of this Q&A is just the same trash as before.... i really wish you luck sailing this into release state harbour ^^ sadly such a gem got so mismanaged that it's just frustrating.
  4. got the same problem on PC but since the relaunch while it is working without any issues for my wife...so if anyone knows how to fix this - plleeaase help this gets really annoying.
  5. these silly company limits on alliances just screw over small companies more than they help them...dunno who thought this would stop big companies to work together (which isn't wrong in the first place) but it just makes it impossible for smaller companies to a) form a big enough alliance with enough small companies or b) god forbid work together with bigger companies as they don't get an alliance slot due to their size. you can't even form grid alliances with the limits even if only 1 company owns 1 island per grid while there should be more companies per island by design *shrug* in the end the result is big companies are annoyed as the alliance system is crap for them too but can and do work around this. so if there has to be limits on alliance members it should be PLAYERS and not companies tho i still think these limits don't help the small ones but in the end make it a pain for all.
  6. hey devs, right now the thing that is way worse than before 1.5 is the alliance system, speaking from the point of a small company -do you see the problems the current alliance system leads too? like it basically it doesn't change that players that want to work together will work together but just makes it a pain, even more so for small companies which you stated the new colony system should help - the settlers if you want. just to point a few out: -right now due to the limits on how many companies can join an alliance i think small companies have never been "forced" to merge with big ones more than now. before 1.5 the limit of 12 per alliance was very limiting too but at least there was a chance that also small companies had a spot in grid alliances and such without the need to merge. now with 5 max this is just no longer possible...understandable from the point of bigger companies that want an alliance that can field enough players too. -the settlement system should promote companies to work together and well form an alliance which even should spread over more islands if the landowner is big enough. -why shouldn't a lot of small 3-10 man companies be able to form an alliance and work together that in total can match the numbers of an alliance with 5 75 ppl companies? ->what are your plans to make this work? maybe you want to... -> do away with limit of companies but make alliances limit on total players in it? -> add a functional standing system (look at EvE pls) that also can be set on cannons and such? my final thought: even if you want to limit alliances players will field big numbers if they like. all you do is make it a pain that is unnecessary because it will not change a lot...at least for the big companies. it will however hurt the small ones that don't want to be part of the big wars, but find a grid to live, defend and be part of in their own way. love the game but the alliance system is a real mess right now. cheers
  7. this new alliance number limitations are just hurting the small companies more than anything else...how it looks now is: big companies form an alliance and due to the sever limits the small companies that settle stay red to most...or there is more small companies that would want to work together to get somewhat reasonable numbers...can't due to limit. all in all this system just makes it a pain for everyone and screws over small companies as a whole. i play in a really small one and before it was way better with friendly grid neighbours forming alliances for trade, treassure hunting or working together for defense...just not possible any longer. i mean if they don't want super big alliances limit on players and not companies the way it is without any standing system is just making it a pain for all, big or small.
  8. works well with normal lions but with alphas it's just instant death and like 90% of the time they sneak on you while hitting a rock/tree ^^ you can't run from them, you can't fight them...lost 2 more bears today *yay* ^^ guess if you are on an island with tons of lions you are just screwed for now...this really needs some changes
  9. well tried everything but if an alpha lion gets you and you are alone, you and your tame are dead next try is to always take more tames with you tho i still think in this case this is just a little too much.
  10. Hey, since release alphas overall got dumbed down quite a lot and i for one liked alphas being quite strong, a danger and somewhat of a challange and was sad when even wolves were no more a thing to fear. yet as of now i really got to say that something needs to change about alpha lions (or i am just missing something). the problem is not them being hard but they just knock you of your tame and stun you till you are dead, tame following soon after while i could kill them if they wouldn't just always stun kill me - there is not just anything to do against it besides having a t3 mount as far as i know (or le tme know if i am wrong :P). the island i am on has tons of them and so retaming bears comes right after farming base mats so can you please either shorten the stun by a lot or make it so you get no dmg while stunned. leave them strong and a challenge but not unbeatable as on islands with them you are not always teamed up while farming or doing stuff.
  11. sorry but this idea is just bad. you get 24h to remove the stuff, the decay if someone goes inactive but being able to remove everything from everyone during peace time will just lead to griefing and frustration.
  12. guess the reason there is no NA PvE yet is to see if it's worth to keep the empire server or just make it PvE
  13. and looking at the little increase in numbers with the test server release it doesn't look like the thousands are eager to come back or just noone wants to test the new stuff
  14. yes i have stated it way too many times ... the old system was just right and only needed some adjustments like a limit of claim flags, the remake just seems worse and the wipe did the rest. why do games i really like always get shafted by the devs ^^
  15. Hey, now that you can port to every grid is very much killing all the exploration somehow. i think that only being able to port to freeports was a good solution and more than enough. so i hope this is only for testing purpose? also please bring back that you need to uncover your map...i think this added a lot so see where you have been traveling.
  16. think so too..i mean if they do away with the claim flagsystem the settlement owner needs to give permission before you can build...i honestly cannot understand how they think this will work. what will happen just to name a few examples: over night someone can sail by and build and store equipment for the raid hours and has a good chance noone will find this in time so they can annoy the hell out of the island during raid times. noone sees where this is whereas with the old claim system you had so much more controle over the island..doubt this will be fun. ppl will build stupid stuff that annoys island resident and owners just because they can ppl will spawn foundations all over the island so noone can build so this will surely not work like the devs stated they want it to be and why all this? so everyone can build anywhere? what for - if someone doesn't like you there you will be removed...so basically this is like before: if you want to settle you got to talk to someone if it's ok, with claim flags this was so much easier to handle. dunno a lot of ppl where asking for offline protection and i agree this was needed but what we got now looks worse in most apsects than before so if you want to have offline protection you got to play free building mode that will be just meh as far as i can tell or go play empire where by design offline proection is having mass players that will surely not be there as most want offline protection be it small or big... and for all this we lost most of the playerbase *yay*
  17. Hey, so how does the structure decay work now? seems like if you don't log in 4 days your structures can be demolished. didn't we already have the discussion about small companies can be on vacation and all this? so with the old claim system as long as your character was in your claim they had to break your walls and kill you...now they can just demolish if you haven't been online for 4 days? this needs to be addressed. want to get my stuff, you at least have to break my base...or does it not start counting as long your character sleeps in there or and npc is around? oh and please do something about everything growing through the floors and all this.
  18. sure they said it will be in EA for 2 years but yet they are calling 1.5 the relaunch of atlas, promise of monthly content updates...dunno it might also just be that a lot of ppl myself included didn't expect an EA with wipes but an EA with bugs that gets better over time (yes because they did so in ark:P) and most are bitter that they did not go this route. more important is that i care for the game and want it to succeed but there is just so many EA games noone plays because of wipes and when it finally launches noone cares anymore...i mean they are making a relaunch of the game as they call it, do you really think ppl will stick thru another wipe? atlas will be no fun with too few ppl, games like this needs a decent population and they are gambling with their population big time. the numbers playing now show this quite clear and i for one think you can't say this often enough.
  19. same here was totally hooked but this wipe totally killed the motivation...i just hope it will come back after the wipe. EA or not i hope the devs know that they should not do this again no matter how many will tell how little this matters during EA...just looking at the numbers right now shows that like nearly everyone loses interest with wipes so there is really no arguing about that. having more wipes after this will just mean no ppl again...i really hope they have the confidence in their relaunch and will state a no more wipe philosophy with it or this will be a ghost town. i mean they are trying to handle and hype this like a released game so the EA excuse might work once, surely not twice...hope they at least understand this as it would be sad to have this game ruined by even more bad decisions - i so much enjoyed it as it was already
  20. agree and i hope the numbers will go up again, sadly i am not sure if so many will play as much like before with the fishy stance on wipes. i for one love atlas but with wipes every few months *maybe or maybe not* i am not sure how much motivation i will have this time around.
  21. my wife and me really liked the system...i for one think dying from vitamins should be more punishing so that you also have to plan the food for your voyages and such...i think this adds a lot to the game so dare they remove it
  22. there is still not to forget that this game does not try to be only a survival game but more so an mmo with lots of players - i mean why make another survival only game...there just so many of them. for me as a longterm mmo player the mix that atlas tries to achieve is what makes it so interesting in the first place....mmo's have been the same for years, survival games as well...so mix it and all are *yay* still you can't have an FFA setting when there is more than a handfull of players. so having no permanent offline raiding is surely a key to success as like 90% just do not like it no matter what kind of player you are - besides the handfull that loves this furthermore being against offline raiding has nothing to do with being a PvE player either. just look at any pvp mmo there is or was...i mean i played the heck out of eve, darkfall, earthrise and a few others of that sort and every one of them where there is conflict about assets had some sort of preperation phase for the defender (if it hadn't it lost a lot of ppl and came up with something to prevent offline attacks) or the attacker would most likely always win. i for one would also say that ideally PvP and PvE players would belong on the same server just like in EvE as only than you got all that a game needs together...good warfare needs a PvE backbone to support it. so i think it's the worst approach to do black & white stuff in regards to pvp/pve players when it comes to warfare in an MMO like atlas wants to become. sad this won't happen but at least not spread the playerbase even further. i mean sure there are many ways against offline raiding and one thing is to build heck of a defense (my wife and i had like 100+ npc's for our little house with like 8 walls in every direction ^^) but yet raiding offline always take waaaaaaayyyyy less time than building a base. if it would take that long to raid in comparison as to build it well...i think i know why they prefer the raid window ^^
  23. to be honest i do think that atlas can do fine with fewer numbers as i am quite sure after release we will have a shop with skins or items for conveniences for a lot of things which i personally think is good and the game isn't depending on new players that buy the base game or dlc's all the time. skins are nice, not game breaking or p2w and ppl keep buying them that's one of the reasons i do not really understand why they risk their current playerbase that kept playing for a chance to get new ones with a wipe and premature rework of something that only needed a few tweaks - i think it was just too early for any kind of "revamp" or relaunch before the settle point of active players was reached. as the numbers kept droping slower und slower so guess like 10-15k would have kept playing on a daily basis. this wouldn't have been a bad starting point to get the game better and better and get numbers back up with good patches and content. i mean A LOT of games do just fine with a fraction of that and atlas surely is a game that could get back to really high numbers too. so i mean yes there are EA games that wipe all the time but just look at how they do...atlas clearly hyped their EA as some kind of launch and i bet they didn't plan to wipe but they really made some very bad decisions and 180 turn arounds that make some wonder if they really got their vision straight...like the nerf to stone structures, i mean who would have guessed that ppl do not like being offlined in a matter of minutes and thought "hey this will get us more players" - no problem to get raided but it should also take the same afford as building up a base. i think the wipe, the rework and now this dual server setup are just like this and will cost them even more players besides a short boost when everyone is checking back - if they don't state that from this point they no longer wipe...i mean in this game you got to sail a half a day just go get salt for your "fridge" noone will do things like this with future wipes and hardly anyone will play a lot which would be sad. i love mmo's and like the survival games tho i never got hooked by them due to their super small servers. so this is what atlas has going for it for now but with how they handle it atm it's hard to want to stick around still
  24. that's what happens when you wipe your game when noone really thinks you wil - ppl are pissed. if you then manage to pospone the wipe even further a lot will find other games that might keep them. let's just hope enough will come back and they won't wipe again. no matter how many tell on the forums how normal wipes are in EA and that wipes are a blast....not many will stay around with wipes and face it, if you go into EA with a launch hype like they did you will never ever get such a "real launch" hype again. so they better sort it out for their relaunch as they call it and get the wiping off the table after this one at least. next wipe would kill this game for good i'd say.
