  1. Yes this is badly needed. I hate that I have to bump my brig's rump right into the shallows
  2. The tallest tames we can tame are only 6 walls tall. We do not need a gate that spans 12 walls high for this. Give us at LEAST a 3 wide, 6-7 wall high gate so we can get tames through. There is out right no need for a 8 wide, 12 high gate like we have now.
  3. Plus freeport sloops always have the same designs. 2 speed sails, and a single ceiling space for the deck.
  4. This is reportable and goes against the code of conduct for greafing. there was an issue like this on an island in our zone with a company foundatoning in someones new clame and it got reported. it took a week but out of the blue all the foundations and buildings and ships went poof. it all got admin wiped.
  5. We saw that too and just left. There was no hope.
  6. And its due to this issue that I am stuck living in a small section of a lawless zone. Because as someon e who has a life outside the game, a full time job, and so on, I can't be bothered to sit for 6 hours trying to claim land. I've tried it, for three DAYS just sleeping inside the clame I'm trying to contest while in my ship. Even with the low pop the timer still kept getting reset. I gave up as it was just pointless. Then you have the companies that are set up come to the lawless and make fun of all the people living there, rubbing salt into the wound.
  7. They likely couldn't hear the snoring anymore. A godsend for some of us
  8. On top of that the top 10 companies are rated purly by how many land claim flag's they can spam out, even if its one settled in the middle of the ocean. All the top 10's listed just have a island or two under control than a mass of flag's scatterd across the map randomly. There needs to be some sort of limiting factor to how much land you can have. right how the game is mostly about how much land you can own
  9. They should make a zone in front of the docks that prevents placment of other structures to stop this kind of thing, and acts like a freeport zone, so ships take boosted damage that are not in the same company to discurage people from blocking in with boats.
  10. I have sailed through them before. Heck I'm currently settled in A9! https://map.playatlas.com/ Look at the live map. On NA PVE The company East India Trading has A8 under control. Theres both the 'user map' and live map side by side (granted I cant make the live map have the same zoom level) But you can match the island shaapes. You can see the A10 freeport's 4 matching island cluthers at the bottom. Than the lawless above that thats A9 where I'm settled, and then A8 controled by one of the top 10 companies. And it is also cluttered with a bunch of smaller groups Above that is A7, another lawless. You can also further view lower on the live map and see flag spam all through out A14 and A15, so those can't be lawless. So you tell me what is wrong, the wiki, or the user map? Because if its the users map, than the live map is also wrong.
  11. But at the moment you have smaller groups of players, some even solo, claiming whole islands for themselvs. I've passed by a few islands that had a single player to them. That happily admitted they were solo and it 'sucks to be me' for not having any land and them not wanting to give any up. This was before the tax change, and I becha they are sitting back happy knowing they don't have to farm as much. That's a huge chunk of land that could be freed up for players if they could only have 1 flag's worth of land area. The game shouldn't be so focused on having as much land as you can muster, not with how limited the land space is. If a company is really 20 players strong, then sure, if they felt they could control such then fine. But keep in mind the more flag's you have down the faster the timer hits. So maybe instead of 1 extra flag per person, each solo starts with 1 but you need X amout of players in a company for the company to place down another. If you merge into one company with land already you only keep the land claimed by the company founder so it frees up space and prevents you from cheezing the system by having everyone start out solo to claim as much as they can. Plus look at the live map. https://map.playatlas.com/ on NA PVE the biggest company Atlas Struggled has a single island, but a LOT, and I mean a LOT of random flag's scatterd all over the world. I doubt they have 100's of players Just look at the insane amount of nonsense that is. It's not just limited to what is shown, they have flag's EVERYWHERE, in nearly every single zone. You can brows through the map and find random flag's of theirs scatterd all over! If there is not some kind of limit factor added it wont be long before the whole game world is controls by just the top 10 companies with nowhere else for anyone to go. Plus I still don't think a company should be in the top 10 purly by how many flag's they can spam out at sea.
  12. The wiki is wrong. You can see it yourself, it clames that A6 is a freeport, and that A7 is lawless. that is correct. Than it says A8 is lawless. That is not correct. Only the zones directly off of a freeport, north, south, east and west are lawless. The next freeport south is A10, that means A9 is lawless. A8 sits between them, and is a normal map. Theres a screen shot from the map I linked. I have also sailed through these areas myself looking for land, and can conferm A8 is not lawless. Theres a shot for A14 and A15. Just the fact these are two zones next to each other can tell you that they both cant be lawless, not when the only freeport close to them is C14, a freeport that was where I first started at. The only cluster of lawless that do touch are on the other side of the map, due to L5, L8, M7, M9, and J9 all being freeports. This makes a rather huge chain of lawless islands.
  13. There is a general font you can install that will allow you to see the chinese names. it makes the font for everything a bit big but it helps in reporting people. https://the.biggest.cat/index.php/2017/07/25/install-ark-font/ its for ark but it also works for atlas. Using it to report one of the two big companies in the lawless zone we are on that has been sinking ships to try and force players off so they can claim the whole island with foundation spam.
  14. It is just far too out of hand right now with all the flag spam everywhere. I would like it more if you could only place 1 flag per person, or rather 1 land claim and 1 smaller water claim . That way you can only have as much land as you can manage by your company size. This would allow the players who like the solo challenge or the smaller groups of friends (like mine that's 6 strong) a chance to find land to own and defend. Plus encourage those that want to try and get big to recrute players. Let the real big top 10 companies that get shown on the live map TRULY be big mighty companies and not just be rated by how many flag's they have spammed across the world. Plus on PVP the solos and smaller groups have a chance of defending their land as the game will be more about breaking in and raiding people,ya know, real PVP and not about trying to force people out so you can plant even more of your own flags and claim even more of the game world for yourself. Even the new tax system hasn't fixed the issue, but instead has made the spam even worse. You don't need to build on the land to be taxed. Just traveling to an area and gathering gets up to 30% of everything you gather taxed. I don't get why they thought the tax system would help give players more areas to find land to build on. It's just made people more greedy to own every inch of an island, and if that island has a rare resource? All the better! I've had my own freeport sloop sunk when I came to an island to hunt for food, that was taxed, and told to leave. Forcing me to restart yet again. Many a player are greedy, they want all the land for themselvs, but now they get free resources to boot (if they allow people to be on their land)
  15. People don't care. They want the land/islands all to themselvs only. I've already watched one person come over and sink my freeport sloop and told me to get lost just for coming ashore to kill some rabbits for some meat. Forcing yet ANOTHER start over.
  16. It's me and 5 friends who have spread out trying to find land. So you may not have seen me but you may have seen one of them instead. We have traveled far enough to uncover pretty much all the lands around before getting the small spot we are on now. I know I've gone to F4, and been swormmed by overspawns up the wazoo. Also you don't have to settle on land to be taxed. You just have to go and be in the zone and gather, and have a set % taken from you. So they don't have to give land to get the tax.
  17. Theres a number of reasons. If a ship is over crewed, and other players, animals etc count, a ship can sink. I've seen players running around with an army of chickens hopping onto peoples ships (apparently you just tell them to 'go to' and they clip onto the ship, no ramp needed) and over crew the ship and sink it. There's also two over weight bugs people use to add several K of weight to a single player or corps and drag it onto your ship and down it goes.
  18. https://game-maps.com/ATLAS/ATLAS-MMO-World-Map.asp A8, A14, and A15 are NOT lawless acording to said map.
  19. I just kill myself as it's annoying. Unless you waste points to spec for it I've yet to manage to keep all the vita bars even. It's a waste of time and it's made worse that most the time you can do nothing about it as you can kill yourself by over eating. Even having one of each and going through them one at a time you will get full before you manage to center out the bars. I mean frig, I'm lactose intolerant, AND allergic to seafood in real life. I don't have to eat it to manage my D vitas.
  20. As is I would like it more if you could only place 1 flag per person, or rather 1 land claim and 1 smaller water claim . That way you can only have as much land as you can manage by your company size. This would allow the players who like the solo challenge or the smaller groups of friends (like mine that's 6 strong) a chance to find land to own and defend. 21. So we have moved on to PVE. and betwween us all we have gone to pretty much every region across the world and thus far, there is NO land spots to be had. Plus in pvewe can't just go up and kill someone and take their land. Between myself and our friends spreading out in hopes of finding something we have covered the whole game world. Even the far north and south (with many a death hops along the way). We have managed to make a small foot hold thanks to someone on lawless that was nice enough to alli up with us and let us build a small shack and small ship yard, theres talk of perhaps merging as they are only three strong while we are 6 strong. This is at least a little better than last time, were we had a temp ally on another lawless zone that let us stay long enough to make a sloop and be on.. even if that sloop didn't last long. So at the moment we are just allying to see how we get along. So once again we can make our own sloops and have started trying to make our first Schooner. But this still has issues, these Lawless maps seem to be over crowded due to lack of land and people not wanting to deal with the land claim nonsense and its causing more and more lag to these areas. Plus holy frig the foundation/pillar spam is even worse than it was before. It seems the island we are settled on has two bigger companies trying to claim as much if the land as they can with foundations. They seem to monitor demo timers closly and take over spots as soon as they can. So not only do we have people land claiming flags like mad, but we have the normal ark foundation spammers in lawless. Really the whole concept of owning land BADLY needs to be sorted. I still say it be far better if everyone can place down ONLY a single flag. From what I've seen a single flag is more than big enough for a good sized base and then some, more than enough for a group of players. Then the size of your land can grow as you gain more members who can place their own flags down. You control a land size based off how many you have, thus, how much land you can manage. This way solo players or those of smaller groups don't have to settle for lawless zones, and we are not forced to join bigger companies. We did that, we did not enjoy it as we were being ordered around and told what to do, what we were allowed to spec as, and so on. We couldn't play the game and try out the diff aspects of it. I'm not wasting my free time to play a game like its a job doing only what we are told to do so someone else can reap the rewards and do what they want. I mean come on, we were not even allowed to make our own sloop with the mats we ourselvs were farming as we would be 'wasting' the mats that were 'needed' for something else. Plus being told to spec out of ship building as they had someone for that but even they didn't want to waste the mats to allow us a sloop, and we were not allowed to take out any ships they did have even to go to another area for resources. They even dropped the sloop frame we had started to prevent us from 'wasting any more mats' on it. Mats we farmed ourselvs. Thus why we left that company, this is a GAME, and being bossed around and denied what we want to do is not how a GAME should be played. So, we are stuck at a road block, on a small speck of an area on a lawless island with foundation spam up the yingyang, and only space for a small ship yard. All while watching all land that becomes clear become foundation claimed by one of the two bigger companies who have also settled here. Others have also reported their ships being sunk and caught one of them doing it... so we also have that to worry about. Given what we seen in other lawless zones, I don't see much hope of finding anything if we did leave for another. This is all just sad as I enjoyed ARK's official PVP. But atlas is just a mess.
  22. A week of play, and SEVERAL LAWLESS ZONES later (I think I hit up nearly all the zones around the central free ports) I got some pity points and a group that had a small chunk of an area allowed me to temp alli with them so I had a spot to make a small ship yard to I could make a sloop of my own and finally get off of a raft. The sloop lasted all of two hours as passing through to another server I sailed head long into THREE ships of the damned. I might, MIGHT have made it away from them if a twister storm hadn't started and effed with the wind direction allowing me to be swormed. I was even glowing slow as I've ran into this on my raft but they were never RIGHT THERE when I passed the server wall. So I lose my first sloop, and am starting over from nothing. This thus far has not been fun.
  23. I don't know how you are intended to play this game if you have a life. I have work, I have real life matters to tend to. I also have a small group of 5 friends I want to play with. But none of us at all have been able to find a place to start. We all got a raft when we started (and I'm glad we'll be able to get sloops soon because the speed of the raft is mind numbing) and we all took off to try and find somewhere to call our own. Thus far, 4 days of sluggish travel not one of us have found any flag's that we can contest, and no one willing to allow us even a single flag's worth of land. Now with the newer update, people will be even more included to not give up any land with the ability to tax players if they allow it. I'm not even trusting the system because if they allow these flag's to be changed back to owned even if someone is there. That's just asking for abuse, wait for the person you allow on your land to build up then switch the flag over. So because none of us can find anything, we are opted, as we have been told by many a person, to start out on a lawless. But we can't even do that as it is so over packed by players wanting to settle there to not deal with the whole land claim thing that there is no where to build. I've ran around them with a foundation out and everything is too close to enemy. Can't even find a place to put the dock we have. So this game is catering to those who can no life it, and get as many people as they can. We did merge in with a bigger group but they took charge and started telling us what to spec and what to do. So our friend who wanted to try out cooking and taming wasn't allowed to do that. I wanted to try ship building but wasn't allowed to do that. So we all left. I'm all for joining someone but we want to be able to play the damn game and not be forced to do just a single roll or be gathering slaves for those too lazy to do it themselvs. So we are still drifting along on slow rafts, unable to do a god darn thing. Really the claim spam has got to stop. Limit it to 1 flag per person. Give them a skill tree perk that lets them place down an extra flag. Give us a 'land master' trait and that person every so many points can place more claims down while the rest of us are stuck to just 1 a person. Then we only can have an area big enough that we can support and not have a single small group or a freaking SOLO PLAYER take over huge chunks of islands. It's just flat out stupid at this point. Because damn it after 4 days we had thought we would be well past the 'newbi raft' stage.
