  1. Don't be silly. One thread would get ignored. Ten threads will get ignored. Maybe a hundred might finally, grudgingly get their attention.
  2. These Devs must be smoking some weird, weird stuff when they brainstorm what they are going to do next. EA bugs and glitches are expected in EA, obviously, but not the crazy ideas we see in patches.
  3. Well, that's the zones with Sap (and equivalents) all going to be walled off and fortified very shortly. :D
  4. Has ANYONE ever had a response to anything they sent a ticket in about? Just curious.
  5. 1) I did say IF. 2) This program CAN do a 15x15 on a PC, loading zones dynamically...
  6. You think everybody plays as a team/Company just because the game is "multiplayer"? All that means is that there are a lot of players, not that I have to work with them. I like ingame chat and helping the odd passer-by, but that's as far as I want to go regarding player interaction. I play the game the way I think is appropriate, not the way YOU think is appropriate, and if single player mode was an option I'd be right in there.
  7. I'm tinkering with that Controller program whenever I get the chance, but when I run it I get a ShooterGame error message. I'll watch the instructional videos he provided tomorrow, if I get the chance. I'm playing on a 4x3 PvPvE server and it blows the Official servers out of the water. Plenty of room, lots of islands and no need to worry if someone is going to steal my Claim flag. It's also very nice to log in for the first time of the day and see my ships, base and tames just the way I left them - what a difference no griefers makes!
  8. So much this. I can live with glitches, bugs and even exploits, but the cock-eyed game mechanisms the Devs seem to love so much - the Claim System and the Ageing System to name but two - just aren't working because they're so badly thought out. When core game mechanics, the very foundation stones of the entire game - are so crap it's THESE that the Devs should be focussing on, ASP. Because they are not, the rage gets worse and worse until it reaches a point when the Devs might at least deign to make some sort of comment about it even if they haven't got a clue how to fix them. One more thing... it's a strange game indeed when flawed game design makes PvE more toxic and hostile than PvP and you can't put that down to EA either. Game bugs, fine. Daft ideas that must have looked great on paper, not so fine.
  9. I'm on a 4x3 PvPvE server and it blows the Official servers, in their current exploit-ridden state, out of the water.
  10. Except ANY random person simply passing through the area will reset the timer. They could just be exploring or gathering resources and be totally unaware of the counter-claim going on - just being there resets the timer. Unless of course, the Devs fixed that... no, seriously, I could hardly type that with a straight face. What, the Devs actually FIXING something?
  11. It's not required of him to make "suggestions". It's required that the Devs fix their shit system. That's why they got our money.
  12. Beautifully summed up. It's just so sad, really. A Pirate game where nobody can leave their ship unattended for 30 seconds.
  13. I'm just in the process of trying to set this up... It's a server on your own PC that dynamically loads the full 15x15 map as you play. Usage overheads are reportedly quite low. If I can do it right (I think I have port forwarding issues) I'll bid goodbye to Official servers forever. I'm going to watch the instructional videos when I get home.
  14. Well, assuming he is in a place near you, you all load up with wooden pillars and you all walk over, swim out and pillar around and under his boats. Is he on his own? When you say "our" how many people do you mean?
  15. I'm not one for revenge either, but in this instance I quite agree with you. OP, just do to him what he did to you. Get as many people as you can to do the same. Pillar under his ships and see how he enjoys a bit of that himself.
  16. Nice post, OP. I'm feeling the same way, I suppose. I've had fun since launch but there's almost nowhere to build with people having multiple land Claims and those Claims are locked down by the crazy 6 hour "any-passer-by-resets-it" timer. IF you can build, the griefing and exploiting even on PvE is enough to ensure nothing is safe - at least on PvP you can do SOMETHING about it, even if it isn't much in some cases, but overall the situation is worse on there. There's no prospect of being left in peace in any Official game mode to enjoy your little slice of Atlas and just build, trade and explore. Playing a 100 year-old "Pirate" who, in reality, has to slave every hour he/she can as a Lumberjack-Farmer-Miner simply in order to try and keep a small base running and a ship afloat, with one eye constantly open for griefing and wondering what will be destroyed when you next log in, is getting less and less entertaining by the day. It's also the first game I have owned in 20 years where I dread them bringing out an update, because everything they "fix" or introduce just results in more broken game mechanisms, more exploits and new ways of griefing.
  17. It's now a Geriatric Lumberjack-Farmer Simulator.
  18. Yep, it's inevitable with the "play my way or the highway" crowd.
  19. Yet another reason I'll never join a company, along with some members using cheats, hacks and destroying the stuff everyone has worked for from inside the company.
  20. After a search of 3 zones for Sugar (or equivalent), in the 4th zone I finally found a tree that gave Wood, Thatch and Gum. Gum is another form of Sugar, and I loaded up with 1,000 Gum and, having discovered Olive Trees in the process of looking for Sugar, 800 Olives. No idea how to turn it into oil yet though. I was finally able to make Preserving Bags and will start making Gunpowder as well. I also tamed 2 lvl 16 female Boars and a lvl 29 male Boar, so I have some beasts of burden to carry stuff for me. Expanded my base as well.
  21. If you are not in a Company, create one and they should show up. That fixed the problem for me and others.
  22. Excellent news! So the Devs CAN do something right after all.
  23. Well they don't really listen to things they don't want to hear so I doubt they'll reply to things they don't want to answer.
  24. No. Freeport is a place where you don't hang around, because nobody wants the lagfest we saw on release day.
