  1. Yes, but I was pointing out it is NOT a mod, for those who don't like installing mods.
  2. Yelling is good too, apparently, what with the stamina cost. Never had to do it myself... yet.
  3. It's not a mod. It's just a font folder you add to the Localisation folder of Ark/Atlas. No game files modified. It's a nice font but scales with the size you've scaled your UI to, so for me it was just too large. I must remember to try scaling down my UI and see how it looks.
  4. Anchored and docked sounds good to me.
  5. The global font is very easy to read but if you have the UI enlarged, so is the font. I might try it again and lower the UI scale because the game font is getting irritating now.
  6. There's no point in doing anything else but suicide. It's quick and easy, and avoids messing around gathering food, cooking meat and even makes the entire Cooking skill tree worthless. I have the Vitamin skills and decent Fortitude so I don't need to suicide very often anyway.
  7. Wow, an Internet Cafe!! I can almost smell the 1990's.
  8. Nothing grandiose. Nor did I say "everything [is] not working", I just think that at this time they aren't worth putting points in because they all needed an overhaul. I have seen comments inhere and the Steam forum griping at how it's just as easy to get killed in full plate as it is with cloth armour. One guy reported even in plate he was getting two-shotted by a lvl 4 wolf. Melee weapons lose out to ranged, particularly Fire Arrows. Players aren't happy with firearm damage nerf, where a headshot is no longer a sure kill plus they acknowledge guns often lose out to Fire Arrows as well. Cooking really needs wheat and maize to get started and In 160 hours of play in various zones I have yet to see either, and with the points in Vitamin Skills and Fortitude who needs better foods anyway. I'm certain it will change, but until then, I won't be bothering.
  9. If only Cooking was worth spending points in.. Ditto Melee, Armour, Medicine, Taming (tames die so fast!) and Farming. Firearms is worth it for the fun of Flintlock Pistols, but Fire Arrows are faster and deadlier, so I never spend more points in that either.
  10. Honestly, what the Claim System SHOULD do and what it ACTUALLY does are poles apart. In theory, if you have been Active in your Claim you are supposed to be totally safe from rival claims for the next three days. The Timer resets back to three days next time you are Active in your claim. What happens in practice is Claims can be lost overnight and even while you are logged in! For example, I have lost two separate Claims overnight and one guy said he and some people from his Company had been Active in their Claim getting sorted out for a resource run on their boat, and about an hour into the journey they got the message saying they'd lost their Claim. Honestly, don't bother Claiming land until the entire system is redesigned from the ground up. Find a patch n Lawless and stay there until it's fixed.
  11. Yep, I can fit a Smithy and a Preserving Bag (should I think it worth the bother) below deck on a Sloop, then the deck itself gets the Bed, a couple of large Storage boxes, a Campfire and, if I'm in the mood, two or three small Storage Boxes up in the bow. Anyone who can't fit that isn't trying. I haven't used larger ships up to now, but some of the videos I have seen of Schooner builds are very impressive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sT5rVZMDzM&feature=youtu.be
  12. I have taming up to tier 3 but won't bother to tame anything until doing so is worth the effort. You'd think it would be better to respec and spend all those points elsewhere, but the other skill trees aren't worth it either. Cooking, Farming, Melee, Armour, all useless. I have flintlock pistols for the fun of it but Fire Arrows are better, so there's no point in putting more points into that skill either.
  13. Do you run a Server? If "no" then as already very clearly pointed out, you don't.
  14. I do think of that, and being solo is bliss. I can do what I want, where I want, if I want to. No online job Gathering and making things for people I really don't have anything in common with other than we play the same game. No being told what to do, no putting up with a leader who could turn out to be a lazy asshat. No, I never, EVER join up in ANY mmorpg I play these days. I'm happy to socialize, and I'm happy to help people, but that's it for me - "Massively Multiplayer" just means lots of players on the servers. It does not mean I have to join up. There's no advantage to be gained for me by doing so. As a solo player, I would never build a Galleon anyway... way too big for my needs and thus not needed. Schooner solo builds look practicable, and that will do me nicely.
  15. That's a very good point, actually. I have Taming skills up to Tier 3 but haven't bothered Taming anything yet, because they take 20 to 30 minutes to tame and about the same number of seconds (or less!) to die. I keep hoping I'll see that they fixed it so Tames are worth the bother, so I haven't respecced yet and got rid of the points, but I'll probably end up doing so. Mind you, what to spend the refunded Taming points on? Cooking is all but useless, as are Melee, Armour, Farming, Medicine and Firearms (fire arrows FTW) .
  16. We need a mini-version of Noah's Ark, with a Bow that opens up like a car ferry and an extendable ramp.
  17. The open bit of deck on the Newbie Sloop? I did that too, thinking I could jump out. I just clicked the Steering Wheel and that got me back on deck.
  18. PvP and Asshats go hand in hand. That said, even in PvE ships aren't safe from sinking because of the weight exploit, which is pretty much the number one complaint in this forum and the Steam forum and the Devs haven't even uttered a word about it, never mind tried to fix it. Pathetic, really. I love the game but they really need to sort this out FAST, and they're not.
  19. I have dug for Water many, many times in those areas, both by hand and by Shovel, and never found an Earthworm. What type of Zone were you in? Temperate? Tropical?
  20. It's the only place in Atlas where you can guarantee your structures will be there the following morning. I've lost two Claims overnight, which is technically impossible because I was Active in the Claim mere hours beforehand and it is supposed to be safe for THREE DAYS from when I was Active. Only an idiot would build on a Claim after that exploit/glitch!
  21. Oh good. Nice to have a change of place, isn't it!
  22. Ah, right, I get you now. I doubt anyone knows, to be honest. I've never seen a Crow or an Earthworm yet. You may as well tame one and find out.
  23. It makes no difference to me personally because shooting them to weaken them is no different to me than shooting them for XP, Resources or just because they're in the way. It lacks a certain elegance though. I think a Lasso would be a good idea, or "Tether Arrows" as in Dark and Light, where the animal is shot with an arrow that drops Stamina (and only Stamina) and as it hits the animal you click on the ground to tether the line attached to the arrow. Pulling against the tether (it might take several tethers) further exhausts the animal until it drops to the ground, after which Taming can commence. There was nothing wrong with Narcoberries as in Ark taming though, to be honest. They should have just gone with that, really.
