Well i'm not a fan of the modular ships. (I feel like you've dumbed down shipbuilding with them). That being said. I am actually enjoying the unintended speed on the carrack. The ladder issues of course are a PITA. But the bonus to this. I'm actually enjoying sailing to all corners of the world now. I've spent the last several days getting discos and not grumbling over it. Today i decided to go back to a brig and with no wind and traveling grid by grid. Well lets just say its horrible going backwards to no speed and taking what feels like forever to get across areas for treasure maps. I'm back to feeling like I should clean my house instead of playing a game. Thank you for the portal systems and the new map layout for shrinking down some travel time. Yes they are buggy too but the benefits are outweighing the animals/crew falling off. I do hope you guys consider giving all ships a speed boost.

Time to prepare yourselves for the incoming wipe. All of your stuff will be gone very soon. in record breaking fashion they have made a decision to wait wait the usual 3 months to wipe the servers but within half that time. right about now is when small groups are just getting mid to late game stuff after grinding a lot. Well it is all going to be gone very soon. Say goodbye to the last month and a half of grinding. I think this is because they realized numbers were already going down which is faster than usual so might as well rip the band aid off instead of waiting a couple more months. The playerbase can’t get much lower and the new update hardly brought back anyone to begin with. good luck with the wipe guys. Guess you won’t be spending Christmas with the family. Well that is if you don’t want to be behind the curve and stand no chance against the people that will be playing. Won’t even be time to get defenses up before Christmas.

Hi Devs, Your game is dieing, and it's all your fault. Here is 1 tip that will get u back on track! Stop developing new content and focus on fixing the problems the game still has! There is no need to bring in a new update (therefor new problems) while the problems from last updates have not been fixed yet! All you do is wipe, wipe and wipe. Every wipe u have fewer players playing your game. DO u have shit for brains? FIX your problems befor u bring in a new major update. USE YOUR FUCKING BRAINS.

I cannot believe the amount of ABSOLUTE FRUSTRATION you get playing this game. I spent TWO FUCKING HOURS trying to get onboard my fucking ship because ladders still dont fucking work if they touch the ground. I can absolutely FUCKING GUARANTEE that ill never purchase another game from these fucking morons. Not ever. DELETE MY FUCKING SUBSCRIPTION TO BOTH ARK AND ATLAS - You couldnt fucking pay me to play either one ever again im that fucking frustrated. Keep the fucking money you are never getting a single fucking dime from me ever again.

Recently I have been noticing that animals have just been disappearing off boats into the water. Just sailing in general and going through portals seem to be the worst. Recently I had one fall off, backtracked and picked him back up, started sailing again and a buddy jumped on him which teleported the animal and my buddy back to where the animal originally fell off. I remember in the past when they used to fly up into the sky and never be seen again but since then it really has not been a huge issue until now, I can not seem to keep them on my ship and its so frustrating. Would you please look into this

The last time i played i did so in the desert biome, so yesterday i created my character and started working towards moving to africa, first kick in the nuts came when i went to free port with my bear, hired 3 sailors and instructed them to follow me to the boat, the moment the last sailor jump on the boat my bear simply stoped existing, banished without a trace, i took it like a man and altered all my plans since i had to retame my bear as you cannot find bears in the desert (unless you do now), while sailing around in the process of re-taming my bear the 2 unassigned sailors i hired also went puff, simply disappeared, when? i have no idea, i only know they were with me when i departed but at some point they simply werent anymore, i took that hit too and proceded with re-taming a bear, after a rather frustrating time finding one i manage to tame one, so back to the begging right?? lets go to africa i tought, so i did all the sailing needed and finally decided on an island to stablish my base, can you guess what happens next??? yes, my new bear was gone. i dont know why this game keeps existing tbh, they keep introducing content when this basic bugs still exist after 3 years as when you try to hide a dead body under a rug, the fundamental code of the game is absolute garbage, i imagine this new team is trying to build a game from scratch using as a fundation the same piece of shit coding the past team wrote and i just cannot comprehend how they cannot realize that you cannot build a castle in a swamp. i came back after not playing the game for 2 years, i expected NOTHING from the game, and yet it still managed to disappoint me, honestly just kill this monstruosity, discontinue the project and let it die in peace.

what you mean??, they simply moved the gold cost of ships to the shipyards, now if you want a brigg you need to pay 2.5 mill gold to build the necessary shipyard for it.

So my hunch about Grapeshot having little or no proper direction/ leadership seems accurate. I have very low expectations, but hope that something good might come of this game eventually. I remember when I tried Sea of Thieves I was blown away at a pirate game that actually had some polish to it. Hopefully someone sometime will make a pirate game halfway between SoT and Atlas. One can dream.

About half of that was spent getting my character/ boat unstuck, or regrinding after a wipe. ;D

I can take this game in spurts. I try it, I enjoy it for a few weeks, then the bugs make me delete it. This has been going on for years. It's like a smouldering dumpster fire that you keep lifting the lid to see if it's finally safe to play. To Atlas, early access is an excuse to get paid to develop or have people pay to alpha test your game. After Atlas I was very reluctant to pay for another early access game. However since then I tried Valheim and SCUM, both early access games. They're totally playable games in my experience, and a much better example of what early access should be. What Grapeshot is doing should be a crime IMO. If there was justice someone would start a class-action lawsuit and get everyone's money back. Not that this would ever happen. All this being said, my main gripe is their expectations of players. They seem to expect players to be on this game every day or so or lose their tames/ crew etc. This promotes unhealthy gaming habits which is bad for most people. So clearly their moral compass is broken. You look at the directions they're taking and you scratch your head. Even if the game wasn't full of bugs, their decisions leave you with little or no confidence. I try to take away from the game what I can enjoy, but it only lasts so long. It was/ is such a great idea with tons of potential. I feel to realize this potential they need to fire their team lead and get someone else to lead them in a proper direction. I have little confidence this game will be great even after a few more years. I hope in that time there will be another developer who will create kick ass pirate sailing survival game. Until such time, we have to sate our appetites with whatever we can squeeze out of this game for as long as we can stand it.

What's really sad is they totally borrowed code from Ark so they should really be farther along with this game BUUUUUUT... ... I wonder if it was worse trying to convert another game into what they wanted. Maybe it would have been better to build the game from "scratch". Sometimes I feel this is a big cause of their problems.

You forgot that they keep changing the map even though nobody asked for it. White knights think they are trying something new. What they are really doing is just doing easy things like changing the map because they are too retarded to actually fix anything that is broken. omg again and so fast!! Finally when people are actually getting set up here we go again. They wonder why numbers keep declining, maybe cause of all the unaddressed bugs that are hidden behind the wall of wipes and early access crap. Nothing I would rather do then grind for a month to find out a wipe is coming and making all of that useless. Love the game but damn sometimes it frustrates me so much.

I've been quite a bit frustrated myself over the past 3 years, which is why I quit playing until the game is somewhat playable again.

No, they won’t be looking into it. It has been around for a long time. Get ready to spend more time looking at your games instead of sailing. Pretty pathetic when you just want to sail but have to constantly watch your animals. These devs are worthless

Idea to devs: Make a hitching post for animals on boats or a GPS tracker so I wouldn't spend countless hours looking for animals in water while sailing

it has reasons you may not know of right so please dont play toddler and cry here because of your ignorance unlimited island points alone justify a wipe and dont play EA / alphas if you can not handle wipes i have a feeling that you guys just wanna play and flee reality instead of helping the devs and game to succeed so others can play this game in future because its awesome selfish, ignorant bla bla why should you listen to such people right so now you know why noone gives a shit about some dudes playing and crying in a forum. this is active development we wanna see, content patches, additions, then bug fixing, then release it took long but now i whink the map is on point, if the foundation is fitting, thats the map, the rest can come i cant believe that there are people that cry about not releasing the game and cry about a wipe at the same time that is sometimes neccessary in developement...
