With so many people complaining that they cant progress without a piece of land, wich is fair since you need land to build ships, what if we could rent a piece of land, or rent houses, shipyards ? So that way the claiming system still have meaning( and i love the concept of taxation, but need some tweaks), and to prevent abuse of this system, who rent cant claim land from the company for a number of days, this could turn lands in actual cities, and that way people would have a place to live, and bigger companies would still fight for land. This idea came up after 2 days looking for land as a solo player and like everybody seeing all lands already claimed. I got lucky and found a small group that invited me and i could start having some fun. What you guys think?
  2. I'd like to see fast travel removed. Make it so you can only spawn on a bed in the zone you are in. Mega tribes own all this land and majority of it is empty. They are able to defend empty land because they can port from where ever they are in seconds and be there to defend. Remove that, you remove the amount of land any tribe can own and it would, in my mind, let the little guy have claim and be able to hold it.
  3. Just a quick thought I had, not even fully thought out yet. Create some areas inside cliffs or the ground where you can break into the surface and dig down, not too far but enough so that you can create a network of mine shafts (maybe limited to areas you have claimed to stop griefing and so its not game breaking). This way you could get more resources like gems, oil, metal nodes and maybe even make nodes in the ground have a higher mineable content so you can get a lot more out of them making it more worth it. You could also add into the game things like wooden supports for the shafts to stop cave ins, mine carts and rails to run them on and other things related to mining in the era. Like I said at the start, I haven't fully thought this out yet but I think it could add a new layer to the game and be a lot of fun. Thanks

I think it would be pretty interesting to add an NPC or some sort to add a matching system, for example adding an NPC to each freeport to sign up for a capture the flag or a mini competition. it could be like when you sign up you pay a certain amount of gold. the match could start then or at a certain time and whichever team wins the match splits the booty among other players.

Day one: Sail out claim as much land as possible Day two: Sit back and laugh at new players with out land Day three: New player tries to steel land but system broken Day four: Laugh as a tax and rent system is put into place Day five: Log in just to collect your taxes and rent THAT SYSTEM ONLY FAVORS THOSE WHO GOT THERE FIRST ON DAY ONE AND IS BAD FOR THE GAME AND BAD TO GET NEW PLAYERS!

  7. Add an assortment of cards that allow you to somehow make a magical minion that can be programmed to move things around or to craft certain things

After some thought and ideas after hearing word of offline protection in the Dev Stream, I came up with something along the lines of this: Offline Raid Protection (ORP): All company members log off and trigger a 30 minute timer to trigger Offline Raid Protection. Offline Raid Protection makes all Assets/ships/buildings/animals only take 1/5 of the regular damage, making offline raiding 5x longer and difficult. Making the raiders either commit or leave if they cannot breach the base in the 30 minute timer before ORP starts. Once ONE member logs in, ORP will deactivate and cannot be activated again for 16hrs (a cooldown), thus leaving the company open for fair game to an attack/raid. When triggering Offline Raid Rrotection, Asset/Building Degredation starts and has a 7-day timer for when said Assets/Buildings can be demolished, an incentive for company members to log in and stop the timer and resetting the ORP. Be sure to discuss your ideas below or whether you think ORP should not be in Atlas.
  9. What if claim holders where "taxed" or charged gold per hour/day for each claim held. The rest of the claim system is left alone and this wouldn't stop large groups from holding more claims, but it could discourage claiming non-essential areas across several servers. This would also help with players who left the game but are still asleep, as they would eventually run out of gold. Thoughts?
  10. I know the team has worked really hard on the current fix and , regrettably, it see.s to have come with some issues. Due to this I would like to post a suggestion, though not being a programmer I'm uncertain as to how realistic it is. Make weight calculated in four different categories. On the ship in containers, company members the ship belong to, loose items, and players not in the company. Weight that's in containers or company members combine first and can sink the boat. Loose items and players not in the company then get added onto that and will not sink the boat but will count against the boats speed. If the total combined amount is over the ships weight limit, reduce it's speed to 0. The final part is in PvE add an option to eject all non-company members from the boat to combat griefing. Items thrown in the deck will of course just despawn eventually and free up the boat, but at that point those items are gone so it seems like a tactic griefers wouldn't use extensively.

Perhaps adding if the company or person in question not harvesting on that land within a certain amount of time actually has there land claim deleted or the reset timer not reset for others to take it. That way they can't just sit in a little stone hut and just fast travel to it to keep it before moving back to there main base. They would actually need to be active doing something, building, harvest, trading. Just sitting on a spot to say 'its mine' to just have the top ten status as of at least one company I know of maybe some others do.
  12. Hi Devs, PROBLEM: Currently, when I build structures, my tiny island becomes DERESOURCED (I'm aware that's not a word, but it should be! lol). With the up-coming V10 patch, this particularly will become MORE of an issue. See, I'm one of those people who wouldn't MIND having a neighbor build on one of my 4 flags, BUT - I know that in doing so, they will ALSO deresource the island FURTHER. With islands being already so SMALL, this quickly will become a big-bag-ugly-'nobody wants anyone to build on their land'-issue. SOLUTION: Every structure has a radius that affects the respawning of resources. Just lower this circle to 2 squares away from the foundation, and it will allow a LITTLE space between the structure and the trees, but not totally deresource the island, allowing more ships, more players to build, etc. THAT'S MY PITCH.
  13. "Im probably gonna be crucified by ARK/Rust veterans but i don't really care. I feel offline raiding to be terribly dull and unfun PVP meta for the recieving and dealing end. I don't know if anyone finds chopping down doors for hours exciting. As a EVE player, i think system that focuses around timers when stuff can get raided is more fun, as it leads to both sides coming prepared and actually fighting, instead of just blowing eachother up when offline. I think it would be much more exciting. Introducing City Deeds. Players would be able to build a City Hall building, that would emit a aura that protects all structures. However, it would go down for 4-6 hours every day at hour set by owner. It would need gold upkeep to remain running, and the bigger the aura, the bigger the upkeep. However, the problem of playerlimit would remain, as player count on server grows, skewing the balance towards the defenders. Therefore, Blockades. A attacker faction could build a special building on a ship, which when activated would set up the current server as Blockaded one. This would also require gold upkeep and the blockade ship would be immobilized. This would raise the playercap of the server, letting the invading force bring bigger numbers. It could also increase the vulnerability time of the city I think the City Deed system would also let players make their own persistent freeports where independent players could trade and parley in peace."   14. currently i have a raft visiting a nearby island but the dang thing git stuck facing a rock. I'm unsure if this is an issue with other boat types. Could we possibly get an option to drag the boat away from the shore? similar to drag body but much slower where our char swims, clinging to the raft, slowly bringing it out to sea. (company members only to prevent griefing of course) If this is a common issue with bigger boats, o e could make it based on weight in such that multiple people needed to pull larger boats and/or empty the boat chests to get it to move. if gripping the boat directly would be unwanted to keep (hold e) menus clean, maybe make a rope to tow boats craftable. another option to fix would be to make boats slowly drift to face the direction the steering wheel is facing without sails open. This doesnt make much sense imo but it might be easier to implement. It would be amazing if it would do this anchored too so we could set the boat to turn around while we explore an island. then the boat is facing outward when we leave. Thanks for reading. I just really want to get my raft off the island.
  15. Make flags permanent that can't be claimed based on company size. Only way for someone to contest/take land is for no one in that company to log in for 1 week. If player is solo, give them 2 flags that is permanent. Company of 2-10, give 4 permanent flags. Company of 11-20, give 6 permanent flags. Company of 21-30, give 8 permanent flags. Company of 31 and over give 10 permanent flags. This is so players don't go to sleep for a couple of hours only to find all their stuff taken. Luckily i'm in a large company that usually has people on at all hours so just in case someone contest our land, we just stand on the contested land and it fails to be taken.
  16. We built our Schooner in a big lagoon but the water was too shallow to get it out. I tried to ram it with a raft and it flew all over the place and finally flipped over. RIP : Lesson learned, make sure to built big ships on the outer shores! Twitch Highlight
  17. I don't mean to be disrespectful but i am out-right furious! Who was the genius who designed the Lion mechanics? picking things up so then they cannot attack back and slowly killing them as they cannot fight back! What lion in any world picks up things, holds them in the sky and disables it from being able to run away and attack back. REMOVE THIS FEATURE FROM THE LION AND EVERY CREATURE PLEASE! Legit cannot do anything against lions besides shooting them as they just pick you up and slaughter you within seconds
  18. First of all, I have no complaints about them, I like that they are spawning more. On PvE, it was getting rather boring when sailing, and there is now a bit of challenge having to navigate around them. For me though, I think they should be a lot more rare. Personally, I think they should be replaced with normal NPC enemy ships which are much weaker. And then have the Ghost ships as a much rarer spawn. For me, seeing a ghost ship should be an awesome sight, not just "oh another ghost ship". Anyone else thinking similar to me?

  20. Understand that in this explanation "you" means player or anyone in his/her company. "Player" means only the individual player 1st- How about 1 claim per player per quadrant of the map for a total of 4. Making a bed on each would make for fairly easy travel anywhere. 2nd- No more than 5 claims from the same company on any one island. Most squares have 3-4 islands in them, meaning a company could have 15-20 claims still in a square if they had that many people in their company. 3rd- Holding property. How about a 'player' starts with 3 days that 'you' can be away from the time which you claimed it before it can be contested. After claiming it 75% of actual game time played by the 'player' gets added to the 3 hours before it can be contested, so after 1min of claim 'you' would have an extra 45seconds. For example, 'player' play 20hrs after claiming 'you' would have 15hrs added before contesting can happen. Now it would be 3 days and 15hrs total. However, anytime 'you' go over the 3hr mark 'you' lose that time for good. For example, 'player' played 80 hours since claiming land. Now 'you' have added 60hrs(5days) on to your original 3 days for a total of 8 days before it can be contested. 'You' take vac. for 7 days and come back with 1 day before it can be contested. 'You' are now reset to 3days and have to start building more time. If 'you' had only taken a 3 day vac. and came back, you would've started at 5 days building up time again. This fairly rewards hardcore and big companies gives casualcore a ambition to get on and play to build time for an upcoming vac. This also means that each property you claim will have a different length based off time played since the claim.

The whole problem with this game is, that every area is taken and those who have actually got the chance to play on these areas 24/7 through all server shit and things have already progressed to lvl 40 and basically one shot people who try to claim their lands. Claiming takes way too much time, sailing takes way too much time, wind should be disabled on rafts so you could move rafts anywhere without having to worry about waiting 4 hours for the wind to change. Cold weather should be nerfed as it does way too much damage at the moment. Water should be more easily accessible. Actually have a point in stacking supplies to your raft without the whole bed respawn abuse for "free vitals every time" and the list goes on and on and on, hell, even the spawn points for people should be changed so, that they are not equally divided on the map, so you'd ACTUALLY have to travel far with supplies to find an island for you. When all these things are fixed, the game needs a total wipe of characters and levels so everyone gets an equally fair start at the game. There's no point in trying to find islands as it's way too hard to even get to them and even if you do, it's already claimed by some people who eat/sleep at their computers so you can't even make a base "on claimed land" to actually CONTEST the island, so also remove the fact that you need to "claim the area" in order to build because that's just stupid.The way things are now, it's just not working. To say things short: You can't start this game as a new player anymore. That's the biggest problem.

Roll us back before this disgrace of a patch give us x2 resources for the time you made us lose and make a public apology on twitter about the amount of damage you did to the few people who stayed on the game after every step backwards you take. I just watched a video of some guy having his base be attacked on an island...
  23. Griefing should be limited in a way. People take over your claim when you are not online. After having worked with 10 people an entire day/night to build a solid base and a solid boat. We work in shifts wich means we only had 4 hours downtime in those 4 hours down time some guys where able to take over our house take over our boat without having to go trough a proper fight. Thats kinda lame and makes the game in my eyes unplayable.
  24. With all the people looking and waiting to play I propose an offer. If I can get people to help fund a dedicated server that will be expandable as the player base grows. We can get a game up and going in a couple hours. What I offer is SOP to have a server online, updated and ready to go within 1hr or less of any updates etc. I have experience running and building dedicated servers. Have run Rust Legacy, Rust, ARK and many other servers successfully in the past and know what I am doing. I also am proposing a website and method to allow people to assist and keep the server online and running. No pay2win, No VIP packages...Just knowing and having a stable server to play on and enjoy this EA Title. If anyone is interested PM or leave a message here and I can share discord info and we can chat further. If any of you are like myself and have been sitting in a connection timeout and unable to play for the last few hours...Lets link up and get this moving!
